Laughing Dog in Brighton and Hove

Asked whether we wanted runny eggs. Said yes. Waited a long time for breakfast and eggs were hard!!!! Cld not be bothered to complain but not good!

I asked for two slices of toast and marmalade £4. When it arrived there was only one slice. The staff said that I was actually charged for one slice only... £4! I complained, but was told sorry that the price includes the butter and marmalde! I won't go back - rip off

Lovely dog friendly cafe with a good selection of foods and cakes, friendly service.

This time we had pancakes and two of the bagels. Service was ok but not quick. Pancakes, coffee and tea were good, and the bagel fillings were ok, but the bagels themselves were flat out bad. Far too bread-like, and chewy but not in a proper bagel chewy way! I expect better for £10. On a previous visit we had smashed avocado toast which was good while expensive, but I'm not ordering a bagel again.

Felt a bit meh & not really child friendly... Adults food was served quite a time before the kids that it had gone cold.

I've been here a few times and had a nice enough time, but last Thursday I had a disappointing visit. I wanted a lunch which wasn't bread based so asked for the soup - they had ran out. I looked back at the menu and decided I'd try one of the salads - not available. The other salad? Also not available. I think they can do better than this. Ended up with hummus and tomatoes on toast which was extremely average, after a 30 min wait. I also ordered a chocolate chai which tasted of pure sugar and nothing else. Disappointing visit.

Came here for breakfast and everything we had was very good, especially the pancakes. The service was very good, everyone w3 dealt with was very polite and professional and the food we ordered arrived reasonably quickly. There is also a nice shop in there with a lot of Knick knacks and also Jellycats!! Prices were also ok, the only slight negative I would say was a little bit of lack of choice on the menu, I don’t eat meat and I did struggle slightly.

Great food as always, very dog friendly, highly recommended.

I have to say, the service has improved significantly. Coffee is absolutely amazing and my recent favourite is Bounty hunter Superfood Smoothie. It's addictive. Absolutely amazing. I also love their environment improvement, especially office part. And of course, the cakes!!!! The lemon cake will be probably my forever best. It's original recipe from decades back. And it's so worth it. Love it.

Fantastic venue in a great location, very well brewed coffee, and delicious fresh pastries, it’s the perfect spot to relax. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a true gem.

Popular but still feels spacious. Food and coffee is good, though variable at times. Apparently its a dog cafe, but i didn't notice. Recent price rise of 35% on the items i like have taken it up to the "overpriced for me" level. Ld Breakfast was £10 is now £14... small black coffee and a brownie £7.50. Owch. 🙄

Firstly, if your serving guests try and smile and take your sunglasses off, very rude Your inside and it's November That fact you won't steam coconut milk for coffee but happily do oat, due to allergens?? Gluten in your oat milk not a allergen then?? Or the usual dairy??

Probably the only place (other than ASDA and Glowballs) that gives a reason to visit Brighton Marina. It’s a craft/gift shop and recently expanded cafe serving fried breakfasts, pancakes, cakes and the usual range of beverages, with vegetarian and vegan options. It’s dog friendly too, not just outside but inside too. Beware the seagulls if sitting outside. I’d recommend the little brekkie.

The only place to eat in the marina !

Visited this place today 9th Oct 2024. Having been here many times in the past as it's midway between Brighton and Seaford where friends live we were very disappointed today to find the menu has completely changed. When we arrived our table needed cleaning and clearing, my husband asked at the counter for it to be wiped, he was handed a cloth and spray, at this point we should have gone somewhere else however we chose to stay the food was terrible, but on the plus side we had a lovely time catching up with friends without being interrupted by the none existent staff. Needless to say we won't be visiting again.

A great place with an amazing team and a huge menu, they can make practically any drink. The atmosphere is lovely and the courtyard fountain makes it feel like you're in Europe. I love it here.

First time visited, found it very pleasant and friendly. Dogs are allowed in,so an ideal place to visit when walking your 4 legged friend. Didn't eat this time ,just had a coffee. Some nice little Nik naks for sale.

Great place to work with your laptop, or bring family if they are visiting from out of town (as you can park in the multi-storey). In summer the courtyard is a real sun trap. The staff are friendly and the food is tasty!

Good atmosphere and a nice food offering. Breakfast deal (breakfast, coffee and juice for £15) is a fantastic deal. Great quality ingredients and very friendly. Coffee was lovely. Points to improve would be that the mushrooms and beans were quite cold. Like barely warmed up. The mushrooms were well cooked, so they must have just sat around for a while. Everything else was very hot. Poached eggs were also slightly hit and miss, one was mostly hard one was perfect. Get everything to be hot and this would be a full five stars.

Lovely cafe & shop selling a wide range of aesthetically pleasing home accessories and plants based in the centre on Brighton Marina. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor tables to sit at and the cafe has a large full wall sized opening window, which opens up the cafe. The staff are calm but attentive, providing a five star service. The menu contains a great variety for all dietary needs and food is served quickly once ordered. I ordered the LD full breakfast which was cooked to perfection, and the strawberry matcha. The strawberry matcha tasted good, however could be greatly improved by putting strawberry jam at the bottom of the glass to mix in. Many thanks, I’ll be back soon to try out your pancakes.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere in here. We had the savoury pancakes and vegan savoury pancakes and they were hands down the best pancakes we've ever had 🙌🏻 we will absolutely be coming back again

Just a note that this review is a little late but still a reflection of our visit at the time. An interesting cafe with the opportunity to buy some soveniers, clothing, books too- makes good business sense. Didn't eat but had a look at the hot drinks as it was a cool, wet & windy day. Drinks were nothing out of the ordinary, I went for the Maacha because paying for a Tumeric Milk was the other choice but not at £4.00 (maybe £2.50 more fair). Neither ingredient is that hard to get and not complicated to make. Overall, everything was fine- chilled atmosphere, staff seemed nice but a little quiet. Dogs and even the random pigeon make an appearance too.

It’s nice in here for a coffee. An unexpected find in the Marina. It’s got a shop and coffee. Pretty relaxed although usually busy. Brighton vibes.

Laughing dog is a fantastic spot! The drinks and food are so delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. All staff are so kind and attentive. Definitely recommend!!

Lovely little place, very friendly staff with a good atmosphere about it. A few healthier options on the menu would be a welcome addition, yoghurt with granola and berries perhaps as an alternative breakfast or all day option would be wonderful. For someone that doesn’t eat bread/pancakes it would give an alternative option. But great, worth a visit!

This cafe was incredible!!!! My partner and I had the most unbelievable flavourful breakfast 😋. Breakfast is served up until 4pm which suited us so well ! Amazing coffee and brownies and cakes were to die for !!! We will return !

Love it here. The new menu is a real improvement on the previous one, and further little touches - the till moved to free up space for more seating, a comfy sofa, several beers on tap - have elevated the cafe still further. The toilet is a bit shoddy but it’s an excellent destination.

This Is one of the best coffee shops in Brighton not only because they allow you to bring dogs the staff are amazing and friendly The pancakes are a new edition to menu which are very good as well

Excellent cafe and shop that is inclusive, great for individuals working, family groups and people with dogs. Shop is fab and food is amazing. Food has plenty of vegan options and their vegan breakfast is one of the best I have had. Came back for a second time we were so impressed.
