Its a great Cafe in a lovely Park. Its is behind Lauderdale House in Waterlow Park. A good Kitchen menu and nice staff. A nice place with lots of outdoor space and seating inside. Usually the Art Gallery is open in next room. Excellent Toilets. I do not understand the negative reviews. Also not far from Highgate Cemetary entrance in Swains Lane.

Recently my family has visited Lauderdale house café several times. I am familiar with the location. It is just up the road from my old school. We went there today to enjoy the sunny weather. On this occasion a member of staff wearing a pink tee-shirt man was rude to me, continuing after I asked him to desist and eventually refused to serve coffee on a pretext. At this point, my wife explained to him that he had indeed been excessively rude. He hadn’t noticed her, my three children or our dog waiting patiently at our table and observing his crass behaviour. I’ve never been refused service in a café before, or at any establishment. I wondered if it was me rather than the crass behaviour of the outrageously rude person in the pink tee-shirt. Then I found that Pink tee-shirt man also features in another 1 star review (thanks Mrs. E.) and there are other references to bad mannered staff in other reviews. In June 2022 Mrs. E. wrote “Guy in pink t-shirt who served unfriendly. Awful service. Avoid!” I concur.

On a recent mild and sunny spring day, four of us decided to have a snack lunch at a table outside this cafe. Despite the many negative comments posted on TripAdvisor, our experience was that — as park cafes go — the service was good, the prices were not unreasonable and the food was fine (apart from my tuna melt toastie’s soggy bottom). So why only two stars? Because while we sat at our table we were constantly pestered by uncontrolled dogs sniffing around our belongings, trying to grab our food and pushing past our legs to hoover up food scraps below our wonky table. Their selfish owners were too busy chatting to each other to notice that their undisciplined pets were causing a problem at other tables. We feel strongly that dog owners should be obliged to keep their pets on a lead while visiting outdoor cafe areas, and we are not inclined to return to this cafe until it adopts an appropriate policy.

We popped into the LHC before going on a guided tour of Highgate Cemetery. WE liked the place. Good choice, pastries as per most places but a lovely Lamington cake (the national cake of Australia apparently) and various other sweet bites, including vegan, were on offer - there are savoury snacks and lunches available as well. Coffee was good, served in a mug, service was practical and polite, slightly Bohemian, but in a positive way. Locals seem to like it. We did too.

Stopped purely for drinks and a rest while walking in that area. The house has an impressive history with information boards giving a brief outline , the walled garden was beautiful and provided a pretty backdrop while we chatted. Seemed popular with local dog walkers and families .

We were coming along to view the very professional photographic exhibition in Lauderdale House. Very windy and sunny conditions. I found the staff helpful and friendly despite the windy conditions and quite a few customers. The food and drink was good and served nicely. I feel that the staff are working in quite cramped conditions as this is an old building and depends on charitable donations. So well done for providing a charming cafe which is a lovely break from the chains!

We went in at first to just have a look at what the café had to offer. As soon as we went in, we were immediately told off by a staff member in an aggressive manor because we were "in the exit" - we were just having a quick look at what they had, we weren't blocking anything, and there wasn't anyone trying to get past us. We left due to this staff member's unnecessary bad attitude ruining our good vibes.

Gorgeous spot in Highgate a 5 minute stroll from Highate Cemetery. The cafe is pretty poor but worth a visit to witness the lady behind the counter rocking the Basil Fawlty style of service. Hilarious if you enjoy the Stasi approach to customer service. Possibly the worse hot chocolate ever, and worse of all I got extra as I'd brought my own cup. Pepperoni and cheese toasties barely had a gram of cheese but did have 4 of 5 wafer thin slices of pepperoni and a couple of unidentifiable leaves. Dreadful. Luckily the rain had stopped sun came out. Here's a photo of a few graves - and its none of Karl Marx's. Great Train Robber Bruce Reynolds (not so Great as he got caught), Douglas Adam, Jeremy Beadle and Malcolm Macclesfield. Both death masks cast by Reynolds son. Enjoy.

Female manager just so unwelcoming and aggressively rude not only to me but to those customers having waited in line in front of me. Just one person serving and three in kitchen at a time that hot meals were not being served. Had a slice of lemon cake at £3 per slice that could not have been sliced any thinner. They quite obviously do not either read nor care about reviews. They have a monopoly but will be writing to Camden. They do not deserve the luxury of their monopoly. I’m pleased to see by the other reviews that I’m not in a class of one.

Gave this place a second chance for lunch after the first disappointment. This was a mistake! I ordered a chicken pie which was very small and came on a small plate with a micro portion of mash and a TBS of peas (hard) a Tbs of gravy was hidden under the pie. I thought there was a regulation about how much meat there has to be in pie? They don't know that here. The tiny contents of the pie were pink, so either not cooked or not chicken! A small wrap and this pie with tea and coffee, was nearly £20! We go to the park to feed the ducks. It's a pity they don't feed their customers as well!

Unfortunately this café bears no resemblance to the restaurant/café that was here before. All reviews up to August 2015 were for the place before its 'refurb'. It is now a café for beverages, sandwiches and cake, snacks, etc but no restaurant food. We had been going for decades for excellent value lunches for the family. The photos are of the old place. Today we had coffee and teas, the cappuccinos were very nicely made but in paper cups even while sitting in the café. We went there on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant wasn't busy at all and we still had to wait 5 minutes to get a seat, 10 minutes to have a menu (we were 2) and 15 more to order, after having to ask to order. Ordered from the iced tea menu and were served hot teas. Apparently it was our fault for not specifying, an opinion which was relayed to us in a particularly surly manner. One of the teas was incorrect and even when we received the right tea, it was still hot. Order of a simple salmon pancake took over half an hour, a couple who ordered after us were served their roast chicken within 10 minutes. Although the food was tasty - even the garlic mushrooms were ok, although served uncomfortably over a plate of cold cucumber - the service was abhorrent and we felt as though the staff couldn't wait for us to leave. In fact, there was so little attention being paid to us that could have easily left without paying, as we probably should have done.

Lauderdale House is situated in Waterlow Park between Highgate Hill and Swains Lane (where the Victorian cemetery is). It's a bit of a long hill up from Archway so I thought I'd treat myself to a bit of refreshment in the cafe/restaurant before wandering around the "village". Home made cakes and very good coffee - £5 for a large slice of carrot cake and an Americano coffee - was most welcome. They do meals as well and are open until about 6pm. The cafe itself was clean and the staff friendly. The loos are clean too. Beautifully attended gardens within the park. Lauderdale House has art exhibitions; Nell Gwynn is said to have lived there. You can hire the house. I saw it on TV a few weeks ago when Andrew Marr was filmed interviewing Ray Davies. I must get to have a proper look sometime.

Fuera tienen terraza y se puede tomar el café echando un cigarro y resguardado. A primeras horas apenas hay nadie. This place is such a missed opportunity. It needs a good clean with the seating inside maximised rather than using the space for storing sauces and napkins. They bakery items are usually cold despite being placed on a 'hot plate' I asked today for an item to be warmed as was told 'it is against health and safety law'. The place simply needs a more focussed management and it would be really nice.

This is such a beautiful bar however the experience was utterly disappointing. I entered the bar, three members of staff walked past me and not one acknowledged me and said hello. I eventually got the bar tender’s attention and he told me to grab a table and it’s table service After ten minutes no one had acknowledged me any further, so I went to the bar and ordered a glass of wine. The wine was fine After about 30 minutes I’d finished my wine. Nobody be came to take a subsequent order. After another 40 minutes I gave up. I went to the bar and paid, again, despite trying to mention the issue with the table service the bar tender just said “those guys are responsible for table service”. No apology. Not even a thank you etc.
