Latinway in Aberdeen City

The complete lack of any hello or acknowledgment whatsoever and the surly attitude of the server would have normally led me to walk out if I had not been taken by a friend. I should have because what followed was very poor quality, tiny portioned and expensive. They should be embarrassed serving up such rubbish but considering the attitude that’s doubtful. Go somewhere else.

Position of fast-Food is good, almost on Union street. It is small but nicelly decorated. Food tastes good, portions are big

I have been to Latinway a number of times this past year and had a couple of takeaways from them. It seemed fairly authentic South American, not easy to find in the UK. Such a pleasure to have tacos with crunchy taquiza salad, arepas stuffed with pulled beef, choripan and so on. This was my favourite small eatery in Aberdeen. But my view changed after we ordered the arepa box last night. As per usual, we chose the delicious pulled beef. There was no indication that the recipe had changed. However, it had. Instead of the pulled beef we got greasy, lumpy minced beef. It was fairly horrible. When my friend called to complain about this recipe change that was not flagged on the menu, a staff member said: "We changed the recipe last month. OK bye" and hung up. Perhaps they switched to the cheaper minced beef to save money, and I realise restaurants are being hit by higher costs. But I would have rather had a higher charge, for better food. At the very least they should specify on the menu that it is minced beef, very different from pulled beef. These economies in quality can really hurt businesses. We won't be using Latinway again, I am sorry to say. What a shame!

Highly recommended, visited the second time yesterday. The food was great and Service with a smile. I had the Latin box with chicken as they ran out of beef steak, both hubby and son had the burritos. All yummy and plenty of it. For those who like spicy, I would highly recommend trying their Fidel sauce..hot, spicy and yummy!

Friendly and helpful staff, suggestions were given and our order was cooked very quickly. Portions were large and delicious, full of flavour.

Been a couple of times, overall a really nice change from Mexican themed places. The food seems a lot more fresh and flavourful - the tequenos (fried cheese sticks) and burritos are amazing. Strongly recommend going and trying with the corn sauce. However, the pepito (imagine a subway roll that hasn't been toasted) is the most unsatisfying bread you can possibly eat. I guess it is on the menu to appeal to the lowest common denominator that want to see something familiar, but it really is awful. Please consider toasting the bread, or just removing from the menu because if it is the thing people take a chance on they will use that as their basis of what South American food is like which is a huge disservice.

Had a lovely meal and delicious pudding. The couple running Latinway are lovely people and very helpful. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

I ordered a meal that I thought was mediocre. I told them of my issue and they solved the situation politely and professionally by offering another choice. The replacement was delicious and bursting with flavour. I will be back for more and recommending to friends.

Been here many occasions after stumbling across this small shop on Belmont Street due to many places being closed during lockdown . Myself and Mrs.A couldn’t believe the flavours packed into the food our favourite snack just now is the beef quesadilla, the beef is full of flavour and oozing juices topped off with an amazingly light salsa with just a hint of lime which complements the beef topped with cheese , such a light snack which fills you up just perfect , they also do some puddings to which our daughter will verify are delicious. It’s a must visit place should you be in the town and fancy a snack to take the edge off… 5 stars every time we have visited.
