FreshMex in Aberdeen City

Food is good with dominos being the best, eating out, you have to know where go ,ask or phone around but Aberdeen is a word of mouth city,,

I was never a huge fan before but thought I would try again. They had an expanded menu of veggie and vegan options which was great. I had a quesadilla, and opted for the large. It wasn't very big so I am unsure how small the small is. I enjoyed it on the whole, but a lot of the fillings were in one area and by the time I got to the bottom half it was just oily cheese. I also feel they use very cheap orange cheese that has no flavour, so I didn't enjoy that much. We ordered cheesy chips to share and I would say the same for those- better quality cheese would really improve them. I would probably not return simply because I don't think it's good value for money, it's expensive for what you get.

Today I ordered the usual Quesadilla but received a Borrito instead, thought I’d give it a go instead of food going to waste. Was disappointed with the Borrito, look warm and packed with rice rather than those lush cheesy, chicken and chilli flavours I had asked for (and Quesadilla always delivered). To top it off not currently serving alcohol so no lager/lime to accompany the meal. Hopefully just a blip but I’ll be making sure correct boxes are ticked next time I order, and if wrong food arrives it’s going back!

Good food, not super competitive pricing

I honestly didn't think haggis would work in a burrito, but damn I was wrong. Delicious!

Came in for some burritos, staff were lovely and friendly and food came super quick. Huge portions and good price, had the jackfruit filling which was really nice.

We've had deliveries from them, Tastiest food we've had! However, we went in yesterday for a meal with friends, we ordered first, They all received their food + 5 other random people. But we're still waiting for our 2 portions of Loaded fries. A Lady in the back said , Is table Nr.2 still waiting on their food, Then went off and food came out 2 minutes after. But the meat was cold on the inside and the fries had gotten a little soggy already. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. But this was the 1st time , Something like this has happened.

We waited for about 40 min for our burritos and burger in an empty restaraurant. The burger’s bun was burnt :( not much meat or anything in burritos, mostly chilli… was not worth 40£ spent at all

Asked for lettuce get parley asked for cheese No cheese asked for spice mayo no spice mayo no tissues. Food was really good but not I’ve wanted.kids that are In love preparing your food 😂😂😂

We had to wait for what felt like an hour for our food. Two other people in the restaurant and a million Deliveroo drivers. Food also came out cold which was disappointing.

Great food establishment for dine and takeaway. Great tasting food at decent prices. Highly recommended.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal was definitely worth the short wait. I had the loaded fries with pulled pork and guacamole. What a taste explosion! Not too spicy. A simple dish but done to perfection. I came alone but other customers were commenting on my meal. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Service was terrible, ignorant staff

I came with my partner last night as fresh mex is our favourite Mexican spot in the deen so we were excited to go for dinner. We are both students so we opted for the ‘burrito and a beer’ deal to which fairly enough, were asked for ID. My boyfriend used his unidays app with his picture as evidence to which we were met with such rudeness by one of your staff members (Katie I believe her name was?) she was tall dark hair and brown eyes with olive skin tone. I’m calling her out as I’ve never experienced such rudeness when dealing with customers. I too work in hospitality and would never talk to customers the way she did to us. She initially wasn’t going to let us use the uni days to get the deal but after stating we had done it before she hesitantly let it slide. We then ordered with another girl and paid (my boyfriend was treating me so paid for both.) Katie then came back over in a rage at the fact we got the deal for both and paid together rather than separately to see my student ID (which I haven’t set up). She was debating about whether to let us proceed with our already paid order and said ‘oh for f*** sake’ and walked off. She was so rude and made us feel so uncomfortable. While the food was good (as per usual) I’m massively put off dining in again due to her awful attitude and how uncomfortable we felt.

A quiet, small eatery serving Mexican cuisine. You can choose burrito, nachos, quesadilla, fajita, a bowl of salad or rice. You complement each dish with a filling from 7 to choose from, both meat or vegetarian (I chose grilled chicken) and finally any amount of toppings to choose from 13. The portions are really generous, so you can certainly eat well. I had fajita with chicken and cheese, guacamole, nacho crunch and lettuce and paid only £10.95. I recommend this place.

Went in for late lunch/early dinner. Staff friendly and helpful but the food absolutely terrible and very overpriced for what was received. And the food wasn’t ‘fresh’ as name suggests. Daughter found hair in pulled pork burrito, completely embedded and cooked in the food. Gross. Chips with cheese had some sort of sweet seasoning on them, couldn’t taste the cheese. Nachos were hugely overpriced with overcooked chicken, and old guacamole. This was my first and last visit, and honestly want my £30 back.

Great Mexican food, far away from Mexico. Staff and manager were super friendly and even gave us complimentary chips! Burritos were packed with delicious fillings. Would eat there again if I lived around here.

Love love love Freshmex more than life itself. The customisation? Impeccable. The choices? Impeccable. I'm so excited to go back to aberdeen purely for this, and I can literally taste the burrito I haven't eaten in 3 months. I am going insane without freshmex im literally foaming at the mouth rn im sooooo hungry

Food was OK. Although my large quesadilla was the same size as my friend's regular quesadilla. And they forgot other elements of my order.

Good food, good beer, great service and conversation from Harry. One of the few places to get food until 10PM in Aberdeen. Definitely return.

This is a small place just off Schoolhill. There isn’t much seating inside, and it looks more popular with Deliveroo & Just Eat delivery drivers picking up takeaways. I got a large burrito (see photo). The taste quality was excellent. It tasted really fresh. The prize is quite steep at £11.50 for large. The service was good, friendly and quick. I would definitely come back again based on taste and quality, but probably just as a one-off treat based on the price.

Every single time waiting here. When you go here like a deliveroo every time you have to wait. They don’t have any respect for customers who make an order from deliveroo. Now the bossss from this restaurant don’t accept me any more inside to pick up an orders. If you’re a customers from deliveroo and your order is too late is because of restaurant…..

A must have when visiting Aberdeen! Best Mexican place in town! Freshly made on the spot and delicious! The BBQ pulled jackfruit is insanely good for vegans and not! And the fresh mex fries are the best I have ever tried. Staff is always friendly and assistive!

Very generous portions, good prices, friendly staff and most importantly delicious food! The burritos are fully stuffed with your chosen fillings. Absolutely fantastic place.

Love this place! I travel from Bradford to stay with the OH whilst he works up here and I cannot wait to order from Freshmex! The food is always super tasty and every bite of the burrito is just an explosion of flavour! Can’t wait for my next visit!

As easy a 5/5 as i’ve given. Friendly staff, moderate pricing (£11.45 including Water) and above all, delicious food that’s filling. Went regular (was still massive). Opted for a normal Burrito and the Tex-Mex Haggis filling, all topped with Nacho Pieces and Rainbow Slaw. It was seriously good - i’ll not eat for the rest of the day now! I can’t remember eating a Burrito as good as this. Will be recommending it to my workmates and anyone who lives in the area.

Good quality food. Well priced for quality and portion size.

My son did a very small print job for them and they gave us a coupon . That coupon brought us here and i loved their salad bowl. Shall keep visiting them now onwards.

I ordered a haggis and pulled pork burrito and a portion of chips for myself. My girlfriend ordered the jackfruit burrito (we ordered separately). When we got our order I was given the bag with the burrito and chips and she was given the single burrito. Once we got back to my flat and started eating my vegetarian girlfriend was mortified to discover that they had given us the wrong order and she was in fact consuming the pulled pork. She has been in bits about it all afternoon and when I called the restaurant all they said was they would give us a new burrito and that’s all they could do. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if the correct food was put in the correct bags or were at least marked as what the food on the packaging. We will not be returning and I’m disgusted with the restaurant for not even being able to do the simplest of things. Thanks for ruining our day and breaking her 3 and a half year vegetarianism. Unacceptable.

Had my first visit to freshmex and really enjoyed it. Huge burrito, even a regular sized was big. Got a side of fries and a bottle of lime jarritos too. Whole thing came to £18 which I felt was a bit pricey but the fries (spiced) were amazing and the burrito was a hefty thing. The seating area is a bit cramped and a little too dark if I'm honest. All black and dimly lit but that's not a deal breaker at all.

I tried Fresh mex today, food was average, nothing special however i can say the service was amazing. i was served by sarah i believe her name was and she went above and beyond to make sure my meal was to a high standard. won’t be going again as is overpriced.

really good, fresh & tasty. got 2 burrito bowls and definitely the best in east coast.

Can't fault the food but that's multiple times the order has been missing items and they 'can't' send out the missing items cause the cost is too low. Won't be using again, fed up of only receiving half our dinner.

If you want a snack or lunch this is the place excellent service and the food is really good can be quite spicy but very tasty you can have any dish as hot or mild as you please really nice

Ordered a large chicken burrito for my partner, regular vegetarian for myself. I’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years. I was pulling stingy bits of something out of my mouth. There’s so much stuff in their burrito I thought this was Part of the prep of the beans I ordered. My partner tried mine and said that’s chicken. I messaged right away at the only email I could find to say you got it the wrong way round, found the Aberdeen email the next day and told them what had happened. Still not heard anything, received an apology. Felt ill all the next day for soggy burritos and cold chips. DISGUSTING SERVICE

Got a Cali burrito last night and I'm still thinking about it this morning! That's how u know it's good, I'd recommend adding the pulled pork for 50p👌I got all the fillings and it was huge ❤️

I mean burritos never look as good when you’ve half eaten them but holy moly, this is my heaven. Incredible food. Soft tortillas, fillings are all so tasty, I LOVE the chipotle mayo and salsa and would have them on everything. Seriously tho, bottle that mayo! My only wish is that you expand to Inverurie asap as I keep driving into aberdeen for my burrito fix 😂 I think it would be a HUGE hit in Inverurie, it’s crying out for a Mexican takeaway.

This is probably the best Mexican fast food I have had for a while. Any main dish is big enough to feed two people.

10/10 recommend this place! We had sit in and take out on our weekend trip to Aberdeen and it was great. Food is so fresh and delicious. So many ways to customise your meal I could never get bored of the food. The staff were super nice and helpful. Fast service and really well priced.

First time since reopening for a sit in meal, food was OK but you feel second-place to food couriers coming in/out, with long wait times (20 minutes) for just two burritos. Food is no longer made in front of you. I think we'll just order online we if we want freshmex in future.

Pretty good selection of Mexican food. Eat in or takeaway or Deliveroo. Not the cheapest, but reliable.

A frequent visitor to FreshMex. Glad to see they are dinning in again as we live out of the city. A bit disappointed that they didn't have any beers on tap, its very much a deliveroo hot spot. Enjoyed the atmosphere better when it had a kitchen at the Adams Lounge. Hands down best burrito in Aberdeen, although they aren't facing stiff competition!

The staff is really nice, knowledgeable and patient. The place is a tiny bit crowded, and some of the chairs are not the most comfortable, but the food makes up for everything! Portions are huge, and everything we tried so far is vary tasty 😋

We sat in on a Friday evening and had two portions of loaded fries. They were excellent and really fresh and tasty. I find the food is better when you get it in store. Would highly recommend.

The Cali Burrito is amazing. It replaces the rice with salted and/or spiced chips. A real winner!

Has recently been quite consistently good. Arguably the best place to get a burrito bowl in Aberdeen?

The food quality is fantastic, however when ordering via Deliveroo, their takeaway rice bowl is delivered in a very small foil dish. This is supposed to be a full meal but it's simply not enough for a grown adult. If there had been a little more rice or beans (both cheap ingredients) it would have been perfect but I had to boil my own rice to pad it out. I never understood places that skimp on things like rice. Hopefully they take this feedback on board.

Really bad customer service, forgot our juice which cost us £7 then got told our driver stole it even though we asked the driver twice if he had it. Got told it’s not their problem it’s deliveroo. Food was also stone cold. Avoid!!

Whenever my mum and I are in town (pre lockdown times), we'd always come in here for a burrito and it has honestly been the best burrito I've had. We'd come back and I'd order the same thing time and time again. Sadly since lockdown happened, it hasn't been opened since and is only available for delivery only. I haven't tried the delivery option, but I'm sure to try!

Ordered on deliveroo for 2 calis’, a regular burrito and a quesadilla! All fantastic and arrived in a timely manner.

Thus used to be a great restraunt. Now they serve you through a tiny hatch onto the street. The food doesn't do well when bagged.Mine tasted far from 'fresh' .Not impressed. Will go back when the restraunt reopens properly.

Been here and collected from the window twice and had a large burrito the first time and regular the second time. The burritos were so tasty and the large was some amount of food, probably enough for two people. Considering the size the value is pretty good.

Oh my god! my wife and I just ordered from FreshMex and I've gotta say wow! Great and fresh totally amazing, out of this world. The burrito and quesadilla were super tasty just flowing with different flavours well done and thank you very much! We will definitely be back for more. Best in Aberdeen for sure.

Items were missing, food was cold, but a quick delivery that's about it. Normally I liked this place, guess it's best to try another Mexican takeout in Aberdeen.

Ordered a large burrito and it was delicious. Packed full or ingredients it was better than expected. While £9.75 is a lot to pay for a burrito you get to pack it so full of ingredients that its worth the money.

The food is to die for! Quick easy and friendly serve, good price as well. Deffinetly added to our list of local take outs.

Been coming here since it opened. Great for a quick but filling meal. Menu informs you of what's vegan, gluten and dairy free etc. Love the spicy sauces they have. Service always been quick and staff friendly. Ordered through deliveroo as well and always arrives on time and hot! Good choice of Mexican juices. Definitely one the best restaurant/takeaways and a must try if you live or are visiting Aberdeen!

First time ordering this afternoon and definitely won't be the last! Fantastic well cooked food, tastes fresh and the quesadilla was filled to burst!
