Latif Indian Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

This used to be my "Go To" takeaway when my mate ran a bar just around the corner. Haven't been in for years but the boss welcomed me by name. Takeaway order was taken quickly, including an off menu item. I'm now sitting at home after eating my food wondering why I don't go here every weekend. The food is fantastic.

Ordered a vindaloo but was left disappointed, I think they had not but any chilli in it at all, was just a very mild curry. Tasted nice though and rest of the meal was fine.

very bad food, everything is full of sugars even the butter chicken it was too sweet thats not how food should be, i couldn’t even force myself to eat the food because it didnt taste good

They weren’t much help when I called to ask where the delivery was, but I understand it’s New Year’s Eve so they will be busy. Food was nice and decently priced too!

onion bargies were bit soft and was no extra spice In the sag loo as asked. n the samosas didn't seem fully cooked. just didn't seem as nice as normally is. but still a good takeout n delivery always good. so might just been one of will still use again.

I've had some good food but this is by far the absolute best I've ever had in my entire life, good price, plenty food and good delivery the driver was awesome too thanks I'm definitely ordering from here again.

After a day Christmas shopping with friends we were ready for good food in a relaxing atmosphere and Latif provided both. The gentlemen serving were so kind and curious and promptly provided us with drinks. We were very pleased with the food and service, and it was very handy for the railway station.

Food was delicious and the service was fantastic only gave 3 stars for the atmosphere as it was really late when we went in and there was only 1 couple in.

We enjoyed our meal at Latif. Food was good but the garlic naan was amazing. Definitely try that. Service was good and the old 90's Indian music was a nice touch. Vibe we felt was of a restaurant in the hill station of India

Ordered through Uber eats today at 7 pm, ordered chicken kurma, lamb shashlik and chapati, the chapati was very tiny, all the food portions was tiny compared to the prices and other restaurants, and I paid extra for lamb shashlik with rice and they forgot the fried rice!!! Food was nice but never ordering again due to missing important item in the meal and you won't get refund from them!!!

first time trying this restaurant and absolutely beautiful food will definitely be ordering more in future ☺️

This restaurant serves excellent Indian food with a wide range of choice the service is excellent and the whole place is extremely clean. It's my go to restaurant when I'm in Newcastle it's excellent value for money. Xx

Food was delivered hot. It was overall OK, it is just the curries were a bit sweet for my taste, also, I did pay for two extras with one of the curries but I never got them.

Great meal size especially for the price and not oily at all. Feels like I'm eating a home made meal, very clear on allergy info which helped me a lot. I like that you can ask for the spice to be reduced or heightened, depending on your preference. Kept up to date on delivery and it came early. Friendly driver. I will be recommending and returning.

Our delivery man was friendly and delivered our order on time. The food was absolutely stunning. No scrimping on portion sizes but all fresh, tasty ingredients. This is the first time in years green peppers have tasted so strong and like they should. My daughter agrees, this is one of the best Indian meals we’ve had, thank you!

To be absolutely fair this is by far the best Naga sauce I have had outside of my local in London, the restaurant is so welcoming & it is a nice place to eat, local to the station, the food was perfect! ❤️ However the server Ahmed lacked a smile & of course called the no understanding card 😢 Would I return hell yes! Hope fully things would be different next time, I would definitely come back for the food Xxx

We came here after work just as they where opening, were promptly seen too and treated very well and the food was better than expected. Would recommend this place to anyone. Fast service and each table that was in the same time with us were all treated to a high level of service with the food arriving promptly. Me and my partner will be returning again

Latifs is by far the best Indians I’ve ever had. I’ve been a few times now, both sitting in and take out. I’ve tried a few dishes but I absolutely love the Chicken Madras. It’s not too hot like some places, and you can taste all the flavour. Consistent every time. Service is top class, staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. The prices are good and the quality of the food is outstanding. The waiter recommended I try the Latif Special next time. I can’t wait to come back!

We walked past and seen the special board outside (Sunday) and then went and got a table for 2. There was nobody else in, strange atmosphere. When we sat down we were only given full price menus, when we asked about specials he looked really annoyed, almost like we'd caught him out. Then he said you can have specials but cash only, told me where cash machine was.... i said if im walking out to get cash ill just find somewhere else and he said ok ok card is fine. Just a very poor start to service. No idea how theyve been there 50 years. Food was excellent but just didnt like the way they went on. Not giving us specials menus on specials night, knowing we had a drink or 2 in us seemed like a bit of a scam.

Asked for a large chicken madras to share with my friend with extra coriander. Portion was perfect with plenty chicken. Taste and quality was 10/10. Will be back

I'm so glad I went off the good reviews to try this place, food arrived on time, maybe slightly over but who cares when the food is this good, I love it how certain restaurants have there own twist on there food, chatt starter, unreal and this is my go to every time, mains, rice and nann superb, u have the thumbs up from me guys.

Arrived on spec just after opening, we were 1st in, it soon got busy! Traditional style Indian with an extensive menu. Food was very tasty and it seemed less oversalted than many places. Reasonable prices. Particularly nice naan bread. Recommended

We went here last night and was not disappointed the food was amazing we got the set menu and there was loads of food very tasty . Very reasonable priced for food and drinks .Service was great staff were very friendly. Yes it was quiet but the atmosphere was lovely . Would highly recommend a visit . We will be back .
