Latif Indian Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Ordered through Uber eats today at 7 pm, ordered chicken kurma, lamb shashlik and chapati, the chapati was very tiny, all the food portions was tiny compared to the prices and other restaurants, and I paid extra for lamb shashlik with rice and they forgot the fried rice!!! Food was nice but never ordering again due to missing important item in the meal and you won't get refund from them!!!

This restaurant serves excellent Indian food with a wide range of choice the service is excellent and the whole place is extremely clean. It's my go to restaurant when I'm in Newcastle it's excellent value for money. Xx

Great meal size especially for the price and not oily at all. Feels like I'm eating a home made meal, very clear on allergy info which helped me a lot. I like that you can ask for the spice to be reduced or heightened, depending on your preference. Kept up to date on delivery and it came early. Friendly driver. I will be recommending and returning.

Our delivery man was friendly and delivered our order on time. The food was absolutely stunning. No scrimping on portion sizes but all fresh, tasty ingredients. This is the first time in years green peppers have tasted so strong and like they should. My daughter agrees, this is one of the best Indian meals we’ve had, thank you!

To be absolutely fair this is by far the best Naga sauce I have had outside of my local in London, the restaurant is so welcoming & it is a nice place to eat, local to the station, the food was perfect! ❤️ However the server Ahmed lacked a smile & of course called the no understanding card 😢 Would I return hell yes! Hope fully things would be different next time, I would definitely come back for the food Xxx

We came here after work just as they where opening, were promptly seen too and treated very well and the food was better than expected. Would recommend this place to anyone. Fast service and each table that was in the same time with us were all treated to a high level of service with the food arriving promptly. Me and my partner will be returning again

Latifs is by far the best Indians I’ve ever had. I’ve been a few times now, both sitting in and take out. I’ve tried a few dishes but I absolutely love the Chicken Madras. It’s not too hot like some places, and you can taste all the flavour. Consistent every time. Service is top class, staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. The prices are good and the quality of the food is outstanding. The waiter recommended I try the Latif Special next time. I can’t wait to come back!

first time ordering,food was absolutely fantastic and piping hot , delivery driver was very polite,my new go to for curry, thanks 👍

We walked past and seen the special board outside (Sunday) and then went and got a table for 2. There was nobody else in, strange atmosphere. When we sat down we were only given full price menus, when we asked about specials he looked really annoyed, almost like we'd caught him out. Then he said you can have specials but cash only, told me where cash machine was.... i said if im walking out to get cash ill just find somewhere else and he said ok ok card is fine. Just a very poor start to service. No idea how theyve been there 50 years. Food was excellent but just didnt like the way they went on. Not giving us specials menus on specials night, knowing we had a drink or 2 in us seemed like a bit of a scam.

Asked for a large chicken madras to share with my friend with extra coriander. Portion was perfect with plenty chicken. Taste and quality was 10/10. Will be back

Tried for the first time tonight - it was amazing. Tastiest Indian takeaway we’ve had in Newcastle and also very reasonably priced. Will definitely order again! :)

I'm so glad I went off the good reviews to try this place, food arrived on time, maybe slightly over but who cares when the food is this good, I love it how certain restaurants have there own twist on there food, chatt starter, unreal and this is my go to every time, mains, rice and nann superb, u have the thumbs up from me guys.

Arrived on spec just after opening, we were 1st in, it soon got busy! Traditional style Indian with an extensive menu. Food was very tasty and it seemed less oversalted than many places. Reasonable prices. Particularly nice naan bread. Recommended

We went here last night and was not disappointed the food was amazing we got the set menu and there was loads of food very tasty . Very reasonable priced for food and drinks .Service was great staff were very friendly. Yes it was quiet but the atmosphere was lovely . Would highly recommend a visit . We will be back .

I can't underestimate just how good the food is here!! Tried them all but Latifs is hands down the best in Newcastle!! I'd order every night if I wasn't on a diet.Have a cheeky cheat day and always get a beautiful madras from here.Also now they do stampcards it's a nice little bonus! Never ever had a late delivery in over 90 orders (hence my dieting lol) these guys are the best!! Delivery driver so friendly too and comes to my door not like others who make me go to car park in the rain.❤

Food was delivered hot and well packaged, we got a garlic nan but ordered a peshwari….The curry was different to what we were used to but ok.

Best Indian take away in Newcastle

Decades of using it and after a low patch they are back on form. Always a nice welcome and now some of the best Indian food I've had in the UK (beats the best the balti triangle has to offer by miles). The best nan bread ever.

Food was cold very oily and leaking into packaging. Chips undercooked and cold curry was tasteless and cold and those were not king prawns but tiny shrimps. Rice also cold and not fresh this felt like it was not freshly cooked to order at all and was not trusted to be consumed therefore we binned it

so pleased we came too using this takeout. jalfrazi was little bit thick it seemed but still really nice. samosas were really good nice and crispy. madras spicy but not too hot were uncomfortable too eat. really good 👍👍👍

Food was delicious and service was fantastic. Sadly only three other tables had people so the atmosphere want great. I don't understand why it wasn't busier cause the food was really fantastic and a good price.

My dad and I ate here last night before going to a show at the theatre. We've both been plenty of Indian restaurants over the years and have to say this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Every mouthful was absolutely delicious. This was the first time we had visited Latif, and it's our new favourite. Thank you for an excellent meal.

Had a great meal with friends. The restaurant was spotless throughout. We just called in on the off chance but we’re greatly impressed. The food was served on hot plates and was delicious. Needless to say it won’t be our last visit and can highly recommend. 5*

The food was just not worth . The meat was just tasteless . No salt nothing . I generally don’t write bad reviews but the food made me . We ordered fish pakura and it was just tasteless fish no marination tossed into chickpea flour and served . The curry base was ok but again the fish together with the curry didn’t work for us as there was no taste in the fish . The stuffing in naan too seemed to have uncooked spices .🤢

Food was tasty, butter chicken did have bone and gristle in. Service was horrendous. Very rude to my daughter who went to collect. Collection time was 40 minutes later than estimated and 10 minutes later than the update. Several other customers came and left when trying to order direct as they were ignored. Not an experience I would repeat.

Only people in, it was OK, nothing special.

By far the best Indian takeaway in Newcastle and I've tried lots!! Been a while since I had one and found madras a little hot for my lightweight pallete so rang up pre order and asked for milder version on my next order.Gentleman so accommodating and sorted it made especially for me, delivery driver is so friendly and has been there since I started ordering, food is almost always early!! These guys are the best, don't go anywhere else! 87 orders and counting can't be wrong ;)

We were looking for somewhere to eat as we were going to see Peter Kay at the arena. It is over 25 years since I have had a meal here as moved away but as the weather was bad we thought we would give it a try. I am so glad we did. The meal was lovely. The decor is a bit dated but who cares as the food made up for it. The portions were large but tasty and the pickle tray was fab. We are really really enjoyed it and we will be returning definately.

We reserved a table but had to wait for one hour. The staff was very rude. He doesnt even know how to talk to the customers. Not even a smile. We had to left from the restaurant without having food. Will never go back there. I would give 0 stars if available.
