Me gusta visitar aquí, sentarme afuera con mi perrito con un café. Increíble vino, comida y tarjetas peculiares y regalos para el hogar, incluyendo velas encantadoras. A menudo me llevan lejos también. Tan acogedor por dentro : ) x

Came in for coffee. Asked about selection of wines, as am in trade and was interested where they came from. Was told by owner I was/am an ignoramus for not knowing. No further visits pending.

I am a vegan and was disappointed to find there were no vegan sandwich options during my visit. I think offering vegan choices would be a great addition, especially considering the growing number of vegans and those looking for plant-based options nowadays.

Lovely coffee and food. However as many others have noted service is awful. Some places may be slightly disinterested or offhand but I found this place just straight up rude. Never again.

Saw the reviews of a lack of smile - initially thought wow that’s very sexist, went into the store the ladies there were nice and did smile which isn’t actually something I’d judge them on or their service. I’m there for coffee maybe some cake, they’re professional with or without a smile. Going to say the glaringly obvious truth that the no smile reviews are probably from sexist men who have probably said something they think is charming or endearing but is actually not comfortable for anyone to hear. Before you get annoyed at someone for not smiling at you being “friendly” think about what you’re saying first and heck it’s ok to not be in an amazing mood everyday. Service was good, coffee was good, everything was good. Both my boyfriend and I were happy!

Makes me really sad to see the recent reviews - it’s my local and I couldn’t rate it more highly - are we really basing our satisfaction based on how much a woman smiles? The food is great, the shop is a treasure trove of delicious food and wine. So happy to have it on my doorstep - smiles or not

I wish I loved this store but it's usually a chore to go into. The service, as other people mention, is often very poor, and the breakfast rolls suck, quite frankly. The selection of lunch rolls is uninspired and pedestrian. I very much enjoy their bread and wines which is why I'm giving two stars and why I will reluctantly keep giving them my custom.

I'm a big advocate of supporting local businesses. I've tried to support this shop throughout the pandemic, and have persisted despite feeling that prices were quite steep and the service was not particularly friendly. However, today I purchased a 'home-made' empire biscuit only to discover that it was made from two brand-name shop bought biscuits sandwiched together with jam. Poor show! This leaves me feeling totally ripped off and I'm afraid this shop has now lost my business...

Nice wee shop but unfortunately the food wasn't great. Coffee was burnt and sandwich fillings were poor quality. Service lacked a smile, like many have mentioned already, which is a shame - especially when so many places nearby have great customer services and better quality menu.

The waitress ( I believe is the owner) is very very rude and it made the whole transaction really awkward.... no smile no thank you. When I was asking her something, she just turn her back on me and made a phone call and in the end just gave me the tea still talking on the phone, not even acknowledging my presence... This person clearly lacks of customer service skills and should never be behind a counter... it's a shame because it should be a nice wee local cafe and it's not.... although the bread and pastries are lovely I'll never set foot in there!

Really rude and unfriendly. Just got a couple of takeaway coffees and found the whole exchange pretty depressing. It doesn’t hurt to smile and sarcastic remarks in response to a customer being friendly just feels like a kick in the teeth. The coffee was fine, but I definitely won’t go back.

Recently out walking for daily exercise in Maxwell Park and came across La Tea Doh as I fancied a coffee break. In the past I have been an ardent visitor of Costa - No More!!! I have been back several times now. The cakes are delicious and fresh! Best apple pie I have Ever tasted. Far superior to Costa at a similar price. Can’t sit outside at the moment due to lockdown but if you want a coffee pick me up And takeaway this is the place to go to

After a previously rude encounter at the cafe with one staff member in particular, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt as everyone can have a bad day and I wanted to support a local business during this challenging time. However, on visiting again, I will not be returning! Upon ordering I was unapologetically told that stock was low. When taking less than 30 seconds to decide what to order instead, I was told to “make the decision now”. It was mid afternoon and I was the only person in the shop. It was an unpleasant, rushed experienced and having worked in a cafe myself, I believe she seriously needs to brush up on her customer service. It’s such a shame that a lovely local cafe can be ruined by one rude staff member. Great food, terrible service!

I would agree with Ahmed about the atmosphere. The owner had ill humour when correcting mistakes made on our bill. No apology even insisted on charging us for food we were told when ordering was included. The coffee was good but the service not good. I wouldn't return. Two stars is mainly the good coffee.

Hadn't been here for years but was passing at lunchtime so thought I'd give them a try. Bought a chilli cheese combo on focaccia which was meant to contain 'thick mature cheddar, house salsa, red onion, peppers & chilli mayo'. In reality it was a warm focaccia slathered with mayo, 2 thin slices of cheese barely covering half the roll, one tiny piece of red onion and a halved cherry tomato. There may have been a small amount of salsa and chilli but if so it was lost in the sludgy warm mayo. Very poor value and I would have taken it back if I had time. To be honest I just laughed when I unwrapped the sandwich as I remembered exactly why I stopped visiting this place years ago. Still, they've kept afloat when others have gone under so I guess for some locals the fancy dry goods and awning make up for dour service and overpriced sandwiches and cakes.

Waitress/owner please smile. You didn’t exactly make us feel welcome. Maybe it’s your resting grumpy face, but honestly a welcoming smile makes such a difference. The coffee was nice, liked the chocolate chips rather than powder. The French toast was lovely 😊.

What better way to start a weekend then having breakfast and a coffee together (French toast is amazing). If you can persuade the better half to sit outside so much the better, but if you can't try and get a window seat. Add to that a wee browse amongst the specialty food items on the shelves.

Friendly place, coffee is good, it has limited seating, there is street car parking around the area, you may have to walk 200 yards at worst. They do some hot foods, although they do not do scones for coffee or teas, what a shame. But there is lemon drizzle cake.

He estado aquí varias veces.

Delicious freshly made scone with Butter and Jam and superb Vanilla Latte (Mum had an amazing Mueille Feuille) cake. Lovely friendly, helpful staff who were engaging and couldn't do enough to help us. It's also great for people like one of our family members who use a wheelchair. We had never been before and had a great experience.

If you want a nice hot, tasty, home cooked, good value breakfast, GO ELSEWHERE! Where do I start? I ordered the full all day breakfast, at £9.50, it was not cheap and when it arrived , not looking very good value. The positives. The rosti, beans and toast were nice and hot. The negatives. 2 sausages the size of chipolatas lukewarm. Mushroom stone cold. Streaky bacon, well undercooked, greasy and stone cold. The poached eggs were meant to be soft. They weren't and again barely lukewarm. I complained about the bacon and was brought another plate of cold, greasy undercooked bacon. I again complained and the waitress said she would get me a refund. I said I wasn't wanting one. However, a few minutes later, Jocelyn the restaurant manager appeared to let me know we could have a free hot drink but no way was I getting the refund which I hadn't asked for! Apparently it was no ones fault. I learned that everything is cooked, sorry heated to pre programmed times and temperatures. Also, and perhaps the worst. The poached eggs are deliverd in a little plastic pod with water, I assume partially cooked , and put into hot water to set. YEUGH! Pity they weren't in a shell like other eggs. My wife had the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. Obviously not fresh made, just heated. Her bacon was the same as mine. At £8.50 it was a disgrace. We won't be back. M&S was always known for quality. What has happened?
