Lara Restaurant in Hounslow

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation, expecting to enjoy the Iskender kebab. Unfortunately, it was the worst I've ever had. It was nothing short of a disaster. The flavors were off, and the presentation was lacking. I left feeling very disappointed.

Exactly what you’d expect. Good food, decent prices and the waitress in a hijab is very nice and soft spoken. Loved everything about the place.

Me and my partner are visiting this restaurant at least once a month and every time we are delivered warm fresh and extremely delicious food, don’t forget about the service, all the gents are kind and incredibly professionals but I need to point that the owner is bringing wormth and calm to this fast eating place, it is not a fast food but could be. Their products are fresh and I can say good quality. Definitely value for its price, I would say value much higher than price. Thank you owner, thank you team! We had a takeaway doner and hummus wrap, delicious! I spotted a tray of baklava, I had to try them and they are one of the best I’ve had in a long time, fresh, soft and beautifully sweet. Very happy customer.

Genuinely the best spot for a delicious kebab. My parents came here when they were young and now I come here before or after a night out for incredibly yummy food. We are regulars there, maybe few times a week, lunch and dinner, dining in and take away. Never had a bad experience. Our dog loves it - at times he is given some left-overs and he is in heaven. I love haloumi wrap and vegetarian moussaka. My half - liver and lamp doner... you can sit outside, downstairs watching the street or upstairs in a more formal settings... And they are open till late - often were our 'go to' place when everyone else is already closed. And the service always friendsly and welcome, they gave us free rice puddings many times to show appreciation of our loyalty. Btw, bakhlava and rice puddings are great - not too sweet. And good value too...and location - right by the tube station.

We go here when we are visiting from Manchester, our son lives local to it. Never been disappointed, visited last night and had the sharing platter for four persons and it was fantastic (unless you are a vegan). Food cooked to perfection and 100% authentic.

Very disappointing bland food not fresh and certainly not authentic Turkish the meat was not seasoned and had no taste of the charcoal grill starters were not fresh the ingredients didn’t taste fresh nor the meat such a shame as this seems to be the only Turkish restaurant in the area. No wonder it was empty as I guess people living in the area already know it’s not good I guess the closest would be in Fulham Best Mangal or Effes as these all serve authentic Turkish food. I would avoid this place I don’t recommend it.

Today I had the opportunity to eat with my guests for the first time. Everything was quite delicious. Portions are filling. The materials are of good quality. The employees are also very attentive and friendly. Even though we are very picky about food, we liked it. You can choose it without any hesitation.

Consistently excellent neighbourhood kebab joint which serves much more than just kebabs. Forget Maroush and Best Mangal, this place has so much more flavour. Food arrives quickly and is hot and fresh. My only criticism would be that their garlic sauce needs some work - it's more a mint sauce - but their salad and homemade chilli sauce is first class.

We enjoyed an early evening dinner at this lovely restaurant. Sat outside in the sun, watching the world go by. The service was excellent and staff were welcoming. We had a mixed doner and chicken kofta. Both were very tasty and portions were very generous. The side salad was crisp and nicely presented. I would thoroughly recommend and we will be returning 😋

Visiting London and this was an excellent find near our apartment. Dine in for lunch, friendly service and excellent food, especially a yogurt/spinach dish the name of which I have forgotten. Portions were quite large (lamb doner plate). Late night takeaway, again warm friendly service and delicious doner wrap.

It was the best kebab I have ever eaten in my life, the service was great, the borek was amazing, the baklava they served us was amazing, even in the places where baklava is most famous, there is no such nice and crispy baklava, I loved everything, everything was great, I would definitely recommend it, all the dishes are both very delicious and very well served, very attentive staff. there was

Decent chicken wrap. There was a good balance between meat, spiciness and veggies. There was nothing distinctive or superb about the taste though. The reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is the price - I think 10 pounds for a small wrap and 12 for a large one is 2 pounds too much

We had a lovely time with my mum, I've been trying to come for a long time to try it out as I can see it always busy, and I am sorry I didn't do it earlier!!! The food is soo fresh and super tasty, I highly recommend trying it out, Lovely Turkish music as well as amazing turkish wine, is definitely not Chiswick over prices, prices are super affordable and service is great, everyone is so polite and very kind! Come and try it out, open till late and always space to sit outside and enjoy the weather!

My wife and I had lunch there on a Saturday which is always a tricky time for restaurants. There is either too much or too little demand. We were immediately greeted with typical Turkish hospitality, The food was one of the best I have had in a long time and I am quite picky. May I whisper in your ear, though, don't order the Turkish Lager beer. I like English Bitter or Continental Pilsner but the Turkish variety lacks an essential ingredient in my view and that is 'flavor'.

Greedy owner keeps the tips, food portions are tiny, prices are extortionate, stay away !!

Börek were perfect. Right out of the oven, delicious flavours, perfect consistency Chicken shish delicious; had been well marinated. Portion was enormous. Could have easily fed 2 people. Side salad was disappointing; wilted and too much dressing Nice to have 2 Efes beers. Baklava was outstanding All in all a lovely experience Pleasant wait staff Good value for money

Beautiful food from Lara I ordered again from Lara after some time and I have to say I was very impressed. The lamb and chicken shish were top quality meat and very nicely cooked - and delivered hot. Came with very nice rice, soft bread and fresh salad. This is my favourite place on Justeat and I cannot praise it highly enough. Lara, please do your wraps for delivery as well. Thank you! ⭐

Came in on Christmas Eve, not expecting anything particularly incredible. But the customer service provided to me by Abdul was exactly what should be expected at every restaurant. The food was delivered in a timely fashion with no issue whatsoever. The atmosphere was something I'd want to come back to again. I'd highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have good food and have top quality service in a lovely environment. Compliments to the chef.

Regularly get my favourite quick take away from here, a freshly cooked chicken shish wrap. The chicken is always just right and not over cooked. The staff are friendly and welcoming and being just down from the tube station it perfectly positioned on my way home!

Chicken doner on bulgar wheat from Lara's is some of the best food you can get in Chiswick. But since the prices have risen it is no longer good value at £14. Shish is great too but £15

The food is great from this place but it took JustEat 40 mins to deliver the food after the restaurant had finished preparing it. Reduction in stars is nothing to do with the restaurant, which is fab.

The guy who was serving doner at 3 o’clock today was very rude to us. We were talking and laughing with my friends while we were waiting for our order. He turned to us and said ‘Can you guys please take it easy, I have customers?’. As if we are not customers. I felt very uncomfortable with that comment. And his general attitude was pretty passive-aggressive with us.

The cebab is average, nothing special. I wish it could be more tasty. Still quite big though.

Come for the Raki. Stay for the kebab. Best Turkish restaurant in West London.

Awwwww that was such a nice experience.... Food was well presented and delicious.... Manager/ owner was present and for me made my day! Even got a free desert! Defo worth a visit. Mmmm

Food & staff were nice & a very pleasant atmosphere until the owner sat down behind my wife and started plying a television show loudly on his phone with no consideration for customers unfortunately. Nice place though. Can’t really blame anyone for having a lack of consideration - you either have it or you don’t. It depends how you were raised. Would still come back but hope for a better atmosphere.

I don't know why this place gets such good ratings, this is what £22 gets you, some dry meats wrapped in a soggy thin sheet of I'm guessing bread. This is their mixed grill. I was shocked

My father has been going to this restaurant since he was a schoolboy and it was called Andy‘s Kebabs even after he moved to the US almost 30 years ago. Lovely food. Our family loves it and it is a tradition ever time we visit.

I prefer to collect their large chicken shish (usual large kebab with salad) in person. There was no option for no rice in the app and I didn’t find it particularly tasty.

For ten years I’ve been coming here, the service is always pleasant, kebabs always superb. It’s a lovely and lively place. Always people coming in and out, if you sit outside then it’s a great place to people watch with a bottle of wine. You can just order a kebab to go, and if you need to change your mind and dine in, that’s possible too.

Terrible Customer Service Experience at Lara Restaurant. My recent experience at Lara Restaurant left me utterly disappointed due to their abysmal customer service. From start to finish, the lack of attentiveness and professionalism was truly disheartening. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on the appalling treatment I received as a customer.

My family love this place, whether it's lamb or chicken kebabs for takeaway or eat in. If we eat in the kids have mini kebabs with rice or chips. My wife and I share the warm platter. Their tabouleh is delicious! You receive Turkish Delight with your bill and we often get fresh baklava to take away.

In the weekend after few beers the best thing is to have kebab. After few months i visited lara restaurant with my friend. I had a very bad experience. Lara was always my favourite restaurant. The food was ok nothing special like it use to be. And the chef behaviour was very rude. Didn’t know how to serve. How to talk. All he did was shouting and screaming, It was my favourite restaurant but now i will not be visiting again.

Colindale. The place is family friendly . I went with a cousin and an older aunt. The service and ambience was quick and efficient. It is good for family, couples and friends. Staff very friendly. The portions are large so you can share and we had to to takeaway. Our waiter was very friendly.

Easily one of the best kebab restaurants/take outs I’ve had. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and I find myself returning at least every other week. The pretty affordable prices are an added bonus as well.

This is my first time trying Lara, just outside of Turnham Green station. This establishment has been around since 1965 and serves up some great Turkish food. Between the two of us, we shared the cold mezze platter for two and a mixed grill. The perfect amount for two people. Great dips and nicely cooked meats. A very nice and easy Turkish meal in Chiswick!

Me and my family had dinner here last night and it was sooo delicious, we had a sharing platter of all the meats and cheesy fries, salad, and cous cous and we loved it so tasty and full of flavour and the people who work here was very kind and friendly and made us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back 😀

Disclaimer: this is a 2016 review. This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots when I was living in London and working nearby. I’m pretty sure the guys still remember me, lol. I, myself, still remember it fondly and that’s why I’m writing this review (I guess it might be my “madeleine episode”). When I ordered lunch there (always a wrap), I could tell the place was clean, the food ingredients fresh and of good quality, and the cooking, totally authentic. All the guys were so friendly as well. An absolute Chiswick gem! I’m so glad it’s still there. That’s the best proof of quality and success. Lots of gratefulness and love from a corner of my memory. Food was ok and I understand times are hard for places but I paid £18 for a mixed kebab that seemed to be a half portion of shish to what it should be and literally a small ladle of rice and salad. I left starving and really disappointed. Could at least bulk it out with a little pide bread and maybe three times the rice. I went to sainsburys to get a sandwich on the way back to the hotel I was so hungry.

They forgot my bread to go with the Aubergine dip - I called the restaurant & they said "oh yeah, we sometimes forget things when we're busy". Well, I didn't forget to pay them so where's the fairness in that?! Also the lamb ribs are 55% fat, not enjoyable. The Mixed Grill was a rip off - almost £19 for 3 small pieces of lamb, 3 of chicken, a small lamb kofte & 1 chicken wing that was cut in half to make it look like there were 2! I will not be ordering from here again, who knows what else they'll forget in the next order but I'm still stuck paying!!!!!

This place is always one of my first go to in London. This time once again it did not disappoint. Everything is just so well prepared and the guys working there are always friendly and obviously take pride in their work. I recommend the Large Lamb Doner in a wrap with loads of chilli sauce!

We met owner who helped us to plan the menu within our tight budget. All guests and us had great dinner. THANK YOU, Muammer for specially prepared chorba and dessert. Definitely recommend!

They take advantage of you if you are drunk, the price goes up with minimum £2 , never going back as a regular customer

£12 for a large Donner Kebab. Not very large portion. Just slapped the salad on, not great salad... meat was better than average. Overall more of a £10 kebab rather than £12. They were very busy, but you could take more than 20 seconds to put my food together with a little care. See picture of how unappealing it looked when I opened it up at home.

Been the go to place in Chiswick for a late night kebab for as long as i can remember. A short stumble from Turnham Green tube.

More of a canteen late night place, but has a sit down area upstairs which is really nice. There were 5 of us and we didn't realise how big the portions were. Talk about generous! But everything tasted great! We ended up buying platter after platter and were truly stuffed at the end. But the food is excellent and the server was really charming. Not expensive either so if in the mood for something really tasty and not too bothered about decor and atmosphere (as it wasn't busy) then it is worth it.

Extremely high quality Turkish food but marking down for being out of Doner, slightly slow service and high prices for what you get (eating in). That all said, I definitely plan to return!
