My wife and I had lunch there on a Saturday which is always a tricky time for restaurants. There is either too much or too little demand. We were immediately greeted with typical Turkish hospitality, The food was one of the best I have had in a long time and I am quite picky. May I whisper in your ear, though, don't order the Turkish Lager beer. I like English Bitter or Continental Pilsner but the Turkish variety lacks an essential ingredient in my view and that is 'flavor'.

Greedy owner keeps the tips, food portions are tiny, prices are extortionate, stay away !!

Came in on Christmas Eve, not expecting anything particularly incredible. But the customer service provided to me by Abdul was exactly what should be expected at every restaurant. The food was delivered in a timely fashion with no issue whatsoever. The atmosphere was something I'd want to come back to again. I'd highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have good food and have top quality service in a lovely environment. Compliments to the chef.

Family run restaurant with good tasty food. Nothing fancy, just simple really tasty food. Highly recommend the vegetarian moussaka.

Regularly get my favourite quick take away from here, a freshly cooked chicken shish wrap. The chicken is always just right and not over cooked. The staff are friendly and welcoming and being just down from the tube station it perfectly positioned on my way home!

Chicken doner on bulgar wheat from Lara's is some of the best food you can get in Chiswick. But since the prices have risen it is no longer good value at £14. Shish is great too but £15

The guy who was serving doner at 3 o’clock today was very rude to us. We were talking and laughing with my friends while we were waiting for our order. He turned to us and said ‘Can you guys please take it easy, I have customers?’. As if we are not customers. I felt very uncomfortable with that comment. And his general attitude was pretty passive-aggressive with us.

The cebab is average, nothing special. I wish it could be more tasty. Still quite big though.

Come for the Raki. Stay for the kebab. Best Turkish restaurant in West London.

Awwwww that was such a nice experience.... Food was well presented and delicious.... Manager/ owner was present and for me made my day! Even got a free desert! Defo worth a visit. Mmmm

Food & staff were nice & a very pleasant atmosphere until the owner sat down behind my wife and started plying a television show loudly on his phone with no consideration for customers unfortunately. Nice place though. Can’t really blame anyone for having a lack of consideration - you either have it or you don’t. It depends how you were raised. Would still come back but hope for a better atmosphere.

I don't know why this place gets such good ratings, this is what £22 gets you, some dry meats wrapped in a soggy thin sheet of I'm guessing bread. This is their mixed grill. I was shocked

My father has been going to this restaurant since he was a schoolboy and it was called Andy‘s Kebabs even after he moved to the US almost 30 years ago. Lovely food. Our family loves it and it is a tradition ever time we visit.

For ten years I’ve been coming here, the service is always pleasant, kebabs always superb. It’s a lovely and lively place. Always people coming in and out, if you sit outside then it’s a great place to people watch with a bottle of wine. You can just order a kebab to go, and if you need to change your mind and dine in, that’s possible too.

Terrible Customer Service Experience at Lara Restaurant. My recent experience at Lara Restaurant left me utterly disappointed due to their abysmal customer service. From start to finish, the lack of attentiveness and professionalism was truly disheartening. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on the appalling treatment I received as a customer.

My family love this place, whether it's lamb or chicken kebabs for takeaway or eat in. If we eat in the kids have mini kebabs with rice or chips. My wife and I share the warm platter. Their tabouleh is delicious! You receive Turkish Delight with your bill and we often get fresh baklava to take away.

In the weekend after few beers the best thing is to have kebab. After few months i visited lara restaurant with my friend. I had a very bad experience. Lara was always my favourite restaurant. The food was ok nothing special like it use to be. And the chef behaviour was very rude. Didn’t know how to serve. How to talk. All he did was shouting and screaming, It was my favourite restaurant but now i will not be visiting again.

Easily one of the best kebab restaurants/take outs I’ve had. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and I find myself returning at least every other week. The pretty affordable prices are an added bonus as well.

This is my first time trying Lara, just outside of Turnham Green station. This establishment has been around since 1965 and serves up some great Turkish food. Between the two of us, we shared the cold mezze platter for two and a mixed grill. The perfect amount for two people. Great dips and nicely cooked meats. A very nice and easy Turkish meal in Chiswick!

Me and my family had dinner here last night and it was sooo delicious, we had a sharing platter of all the meats and cheesy fries, salad, and cous cous and we loved it so tasty and full of flavour and the people who work here was very kind and friendly and made us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back 😀

Disclaimer: this is a 2016 review. This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots when I was living in London and working nearby. I’m pretty sure the guys still remember me, lol. I, myself, still remember it fondly and that’s why I’m writing this review (I guess it might be my “madeleine episode”). When I ordered lunch there (always a wrap), I could tell the place was clean, the food ingredients fresh and of good quality, and the cooking, totally authentic. All the guys were so friendly as well. An absolute Chiswick gem! I’m so glad it’s still there. That’s the best proof of quality and success. Lots of gratefulness and love from a corner of my memory. Food was ok and I understand times are hard for places but I paid £18 for a mixed kebab that seemed to be a half portion of shish to what it should be and literally a small ladle of rice and salad. I left starving and really disappointed. Could at least bulk it out with a little pide bread and maybe three times the rice. I went to sainsburys to get a sandwich on the way back to the hotel I was so hungry.

This place is always one of my first go to in London. This time once again it did not disappoint. Everything is just so well prepared and the guys working there are always friendly and obviously take pride in their work. I recommend the Large Lamb Doner in a wrap with loads of chilli sauce!

Extremely poor and rude service, also wrapped my chicken wings in bread without asking me about my allergies.

Exceed all expectations! Outstanding taste, fresh, hot and delicious! We have ordered food to be delivered for our wedding)) we have never been in the Lara before, just followed Google reviews. We met owner who helped us to plan the menu within our tight budget. All guests and us had great dinner. THANK YOU, Muammer for specially prepared chorba and dessert. Definitely recommend!

They take advantage of you if you are drunk, the price goes up with minimum £2 , never going back as a regular customer

£12 for a large Donner Kebab. Not very large portion. Just slapped the salad on, not great salad... meat was better than average. Overall more of a £10 kebab rather than £12. They were very busy, but you could take more than 20 seconds to put my food together with a little care. See picture of how unappealing it looked when I opened it up at home.

Been the go to place in Chiswick for a late night kebab for as long as i can remember. A short stumble from Turnham Green tube.

More of a canteen late night place, but has a sit down area upstairs which is really nice. There were 5 of us and we didn't realise how big the portions were. Talk about generous! But everything tasted great! We ended up buying platter after platter and were truly stuffed at the end. But the food is excellent and the server was really charming. Not expensive either so if in the mood for something really tasty and not too bothered about decor and atmosphere (as it wasn't busy) then it is worth it.

Extremely high quality Turkish food but marking down for being out of Doner, slightly slow service and high prices for what you get (eating in). That all said, I definitely plan to return!

Sabrina was amazing, the food was fantastic. All in all, an excellent experience!

Been here 3 times now and the food is consistently very good, especially both the hot and cold starter meze platters. Last night we were served by Sabrina who was amazing and couldn't do anymore to help us throughout the whole evening!

The food is not good neither bad. The girl works there looks like very angry of me and my kids without any reason , ask her for a tissue and didn’t answer me . Very bad behaving , not good to treat customers in that way.

Poor customer service. Be careful not to be double charged. They claim the machine doesn’t work and that I should pay by cash. I checked on my online account and saw that I paid via machine as well.

Before I even entered the building I could hear the screams of terror from the customers within, these screams shook me to the bone, but I decided to go in anyways, and when I did enter it was not a pretty site, instead of using lamb or chicken for kebab meat, a big beefy man was using Chinese babies, not only this but he also decided to strap the customers to their chairs, and make them watch this horrible act. I was appalled by what I had seen, and now I am planning on sewing the restaurant.

while they know their card payment machine has a problem , they make customers paying by card , then ask them to pay cash claiming money didn't go through . a few customers payed today twice or more . hopefully I checked my account and notice money went through to go back and claim the money but they refused to reimburse . in total I paid 45 pounds for a simple wrap. absolutely poor customer service , after waiting 20 min for them to call their bank ( the issue being their problem not mine) , my wrap being cold , I gave it back and they took it even without apologising . I ended paying £30 pound for nothing . avoid the place

Service is poor, chef has an attitude but can’t cook, overpriced, and their staff smells of BO, puts you off your food.

Ridiculously overpriced for what you get. It was pretty flavourless sharwarma. It's £11 for a large and you basically get some under-seasoned meat. They definitely saw me coming.

I've been eating in this restaurant for years,great food and service.

Let me start by saying that Turkish food it is my staple diet. I order it once or twice a week this food from many places. The best restaurants are in Haringey but as I leave to far I try to order locally. I must say that this time i was disappointed with this one. For the price of £16.50 a mix grill you get a child portion. In proper Turkish restaurants you never get this flat wrap f to accompany a starter like Tarama i ordred aswell. The portion of rice as you can see its a baby one. I was told over the phone by the manager who didn’t introduce himself,that I should order double portion next time . That mistake would not be repeated by me. Total rip off .

Lamb kebab like small pieces of rubber at £7.50 grossly overpriced I wouldn't use this place again even if I hadn't eaten for a week it used to be such a good place now a waste of money. I thought I would try again as it seems the fair thing to do food not much better the price is unbelievable now £11.00 for a small kebab I recommend a short walk up to chiswick high road and save yourself at least £5.00 sadly I don't recommend this incredibly high priced place.

Food was a bit cold on the plate. I ordered soup it was cold too. We stay upstairs but it was cold. I went to toilet and even go for number because so cold. I understood it was cold day. But I felt uncomfortable.

Maybe I was unlucky or I’ve got @&%#! written all over my face - I didn’t feel welcome in this place and found the bearded chef to be really rude despite my warm and friendly behaviour.. he’s the one with the beard in the photo with the dog. I felt like I was being judged when I walked in and I politely asked about a dish, only to get a nasty attitude in response. My starter and main course came at the same time and were barely luke warm. The meat was overcooked - I’ve eaten out in a lot of varied places and am quite well known in the area. I also cook a lot of various cuisines at home myself. This was very poor quality and an unenjoyable experience. What was worse is that the waitresses, although polite, were not able to understand my English properly. Except for Mr. Beardy.. the staff were really nice, including the old man who owns the place. It’s just the bearded guy who has a problem and a moody attitude. I don’t think he knows what customer service means. I wasted my money here and felt really bad. The funniest thing is that I’ve tasted far better street food in Hounslow for much less. What a disappointment. I definitely won’t be going back. It didn’t taste fresh at all.

Im Egyptian, so when it comes to kebabs and shawarma, my standards are set high. I absolutely loved the lamb shawarma in this place. Customer service was top notch. Xena and I felt so welcomed in there. Will definitely be regular customers 👍👍

Great place to have dinner. I usually find Shish kebabs dry and dripping with oil, Lara does them to perfection, moist, succulent and non greasy. The bulgar wheat with our mains was delicious, soft and had lots of flavours. We did not have any space left for dessert but took some baklava home and they were delicious, not too sweet, crispy top and gooey in the middle.
