Had a lovely lunch here. The staff were friendly and cheerful and the place is full of character. The food was fairly simple but delicious and well presented. We had soup, sandwiches and beautifully cooked poached eggs on granary toast. The place is dog friendly too and we will definitely visit again!

Maybe my expectations were set too high as this place is set in a lovely location and a really nice old building. However, the menu was so limited and the specials weren’t very special. I had a cheese and ham panini; a fairly basic sandwich that I wouldn’t think could be bad but it came out burnt. It had two slices of cheap ham and on the bottom was old burnt cheese from the grill. My wife ordered the poached eggs on muffins from the special board and it was literally just that. Two eggs on half a t-cake. Again, maybe it’s my expectations but I would’ve expected a little greenery on top. Maybe a little something on the plate to dress it. The tea pots were a decent sized but only had one teabag in them so it was too weak. They also don’t take card payments but only tell you when you’re about to order. So a quick trip to the cash machine around the corner is in order. They then tell you they don’t have much change because everyone pays with £20 notes... Really sorry to write a negative review but left so underwhelmed.

My partner and I visited Hebden Bridge for the first time and we came across Lanterns Bistro in the centre of HB, about a 5 minute walk from the playhouse and canal. We were drawn to Lanterns Café Bistro by its decor - particularly the tree with lights - and quaint atmosphere, which was made even better when we went into the little cafe. The decor was cute and also quaint and the staff were friendly and informative. We ordered two paninis, two drinks and two desserts at great value and the food was delicious! Whenever we visit Hebden Bridge again, we'll be sure to stop at Lanterns Bistro for a drink and bite to eat. :)

My partner and I have just had lunch at this place. I had the roasted veg and tuna pasta bake and my partner had cheese and onion pasty with mushy peas. Both meals were hearty. Mine came with two big pieces of ciabatta garlic bread and a lovely salad and the pasty had a huge amount of the best mushy peas. The lattes were creamy too. We were so glad we found it. It is a cash only place at the moment but it wasn’t expensive so it was all good. The music was great too x

Was in here Saturday night and was served by a lovely young girl very good service made a really nice amaretto sour. While making it she struggled to get the Boston’s apart this girl she was working with (kinda tall, red hair constant foul look on her face believe her name is Caitlin) came over and snatched them off the poor girl. While waiting to be served she was snappy with other customers.

wish I could say i had a great meal and staff very helpful but I can't.. from start to finish It wasn't the best..waiting at the bar to order. Was stood for 10 minutes thought I was invisible. Then ordered our food 2 starters and 3 main.. mains came out first..I sent them back.. was told that my steak will be warmed up and and would not be what I asked for which was medium rare.. oh gosh...starter was nachos to share.. they were crisps out of a packet warmed up with cheese.. burnt on the edges.. oh gosh. Mains came .steak was warm and cold chips..no home made coleslaw, this was out of a packet to lile the crisps..so sent them back again and eventually got my meal.. nope will not be going back again.. came to pay, was asked if everything was OK..I said no, I can't comment.. wasn't even asked if I would like a refund or anything.. Think you need a staff meeting. Only helpful person was a very tall young man behind the bar.. ...

Love this place. Olde Worlde, characterful country pub with low beams, log fires and such like. Great beers. Decent prices. Great service. LOVE IT. Edit.... Recent visit had "small" fish and chips (approx 10 inch long) and garlic prawn pil pil. AMAZING!! You gotta try it!! 9,5/10 👍👍👍👍
