Absolutely incredible food. Highly recommend

I had an overall disappointing experience, especially given this was meant to be a special occasion. From the start, the service felt rushed, and the staff’s attitude was far from accommodating. I had specifically requested a space for a wheelchair user, and when I double-checked this upon arrival, the staff member at reception was condescending, making me feel as though my concern was unnecessary. When we were seated, we were asked if we wanted drinks but were not offered a menu, leaving us to ask for options—which was clearly received as an inconvenience to the staff. Since we had pre-ordered, the same receptionist came to confirm our choices. However, he then proceeded to patronize me regarding my dietary restrictions. As I’m pregnant, I requested my meat well done to avoid any risks, but he lectured me, saying it would ruin the meal. I am fully aware that well-done meat isn’t as flavorful, but my health comes first, and his tone was rude and dismissive. While the food itself was good and everyone enjoyed their meal, the service continued to fall short. When it came time for dessert, we were left waiting for over 20 minutes just to place an order. After finishing our meals, plates sat uncleared for a while, and I had to ask for the bill, which also didn’t arrive promptly despite the restaurant being busy. Then, after finally receiving the bill, we were abruptly asked to move to the bar to make space for another party, even though we were still reviewing the bill and had drinks on the table. When I said we needed a bit more time, we were pressured again just five minutes later. For a restaurant where we had just spent over £500, this felt incredibly rude and unprofessional. For a place that charges premium prices (including £5.20 for a Diet Coke), the service was subpar. The least they could do was allow us to finish our drinks and properly check the bill before being ushered out. We will not be returning.

Great to have a top quality genuinely fine dining restaurant back in the area. Decor and atmosphere are excellent with great service from the whole team at Langs. Food was superb as we had expected from the original owners back at the restaurant. Certainly a must visit and we can't wait to return. Obviously Langs is very popular so make sure you reserve ahead.

Went today for the first time for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! we struggle finding restaurants with this level of impeccable service, quality food and a great atmosphere. Thank you Lang's for a great evening - we were blown away by everything. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

Lovely place , food and service - how can you go wrong ? Was a Saturday lunchtime ? Not overly busy - so the staff had lots of time to serve you with their delicious items. Was never rushed with anything ? Both food and drink was lovely . Not the cheapest of places ?but you do get value for money and the food is superb . Will be visiting again soon .

Food is lovely but very small portions and expensive. The staff said the right words but without feeling and we felt rushed. You're given a time slot and when you need to leave by. Felt like a conveyor belt, but good for them, they are very busy.

Delicious lunch in most pleasant surroundings and relaxing atmosphere

Visited for the first time on Thursday and it was incredible! The food was delicious and can definitely recommend the crispy beef starter. Service was excellent from everyone. All-in-all a perfect evening and we will definitely be returning.

Had another lovely meal at Langs celebrating my sisters birthday with family. Staff always super helpful and polite and the food and chefs always on point turning out some fantastic dishes. Thank you guys

This food is amazing here, very tasty but the portion sizes are tiny!! I have never before had 2 courses and been so hungry I had to have a desert. £90 pp and we went home hungry. Won't be rushing back.

Lovely refurbishment adds that special occasion feel. Good decor, alcoves, bar and restaurant with ope tables or personal booths. Staff immaculate in every aspect, genuinely friendly. Food was as expected, well presented and tasty with it. We found everything wax ace and more, to make for a happy and memorable eating experience.

Our favourite restaurant,been going to Pauls restaurant since he had Botanic Bistro in Church town. Introduced our son to it and now our grandson,16 months old. Always go Christmas Eve,fabulous food ,great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Visited on the mid-week special menu, great choice, excellent service 10 out of 10 to the chef and kitchen staff. Will be back soon.

Food is just stunning. Most definitely quality over quantity but still come away very full. Worth every penny. Staff very attentive yet not intrusive.

Lovely place nice atmosphere … service the young ladies were lovely the gentleman who was organising things not so great 😔 quite abrupt 😔. Food four roast dinners one vegetarian without meat … was told no vegetarian gravy and I couldn’t have a small amount of cheese sauce without buying cauliflower mornay 😔🤷‍♀️ so vegetarian option sadly lacking … sweets were lovely cheese selection only 3 soft cheeses on offer … served beautifully a better selection of cheese is required… no water offered for the table .. such a shame a beautiful place …😔

Booked a table here for last night with a group of friends. Interesting menu. The food was exceptional. The black pudding fritters were packed with flavour, for main course I had shepherds pie with seasonal vegetables which was excellent. Finally, Jaffa cake cheesecake with ice cream of the same flavour. A really interesting selection of tastes and flavours. I would definitely recommend this place. Give it a try.

I've enjoyed it both times I've been. Has a crab fritter to start, katsu curry main last time. Service is decent, they seem quite busy. I'd recommend it

First time here and certainly won't be the last. The staff are attentive , the setting is superb for any occasion and the food was absolutely faultless.

Excellent food served by excellent staff.

We are regular at this restaurant. Food is always good but sometimes rushed especially if the restaurant is busy. The biggest disappointment is the Head waiter who is mostly too grumpy again when restaurant is busy. We recently went their on time after booking the table and were left at the entrance for while. The head waiter who knows us did see us but never smiled, said hello or anything to the effect that I will see you in a minute. After a while and literally asked us what do we want which we felt was quite rude. He then said your table is not ready and just wait at the bar. We waited another 39 minutes before we were offered the table. Not a single person offered any apology for the delay including the owner manager lady who generally is very pleasant. Our starters were little burnt and there was then a very long delay for the main courses. Overall we came out disappointed and a bit insulted by the behaviours of head waiter specially and general delay in the food. It is a good place but they are probably victim of their own success.

Attended a 40th and visited for the first time , what a fantastic restaurant, food and entertainment was top notch . Staff was relentless at keeping everyone topped up with drinks , highly recommend.

5 adults and a child went to celebrate my wife's birthday 🎂. Very friendly staff,very tasty food and great service. One minor fault,our nearly 3 years old grand daughter not impressed with no fruit shoot drinks ha ha. Perhaps time to have a bit more choice for the children. But the adults will definitely be back. I'm so pleased that I've friends that recommend lovely places to eat! My visit today was fantastic and Langs is now my most favourite place to eat! We went for 12-2pm lunchtime special and had the 2 courses option for £23.

Went for my birthday. First time visit. Was a very pleasant surprise. Food and service were excellent. Menu extensive with enough vegetarian options. Place was beautifully decorated. Will be returning very soon.

The food and service was excellent My only complaint was there was a 10% service charge for parties of 8 and over. We were a group of 5 adults and 4 children and had this charge added to the bill. I personally think this should only apply to adults

Absolutely loved this place. Happy to pay higher prices for food and service when it's this good. The staff where very efficient, the food came our super fast, didn't have to wait for anything and every dish tasted like it had been made for a food critic. We loved it lang time!!!!!

Disappointing 3rd visit since the restaurant re-opened. We were taken to a table in the main restaurant area and given a single menu (a la carte on one side with 2/3 course menu and Tapas options on the other side). We ordered a bottle of wine while we made our food selection. On ordering we were advised we would have to move to the high tables in the bar or a low table in the walkway between the bar and restaurant that were empty and lacking in atmosphere. When we asked why we would have to move because we had chosen Tapas we were told ‘that’s just the way it is’. I’m not sure why we were initially sat at a table and given a menu to choose from that we couldn’t eat there. No rationale was given for segregating diners based on the menu selection so we left and took our business elsewhere.

Excellent, shown to a table at the bar while the table was being set. Offered a range of specials to consider, meal order taken at the bar to speed up the process, food was very good, service just as good. Not the cheapest place I’ve been to but the quality was very good

A lovely fresh and well presented restaurant, the staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. There is a wide variety of choice and the food was delicious and great portion sizes. Overall we had a fantastic meal in a lovely setting and found it to Be great value for money, we will be returning again.

Food was out of this world, yes its not cheap but the surroundings and food well make up for this, the staff are all very smart and polite, cant recommend this place enough.

Welcome back Lang's ! Delighted that Lang's have returned to Preston after a stunning refurbishment, it is a family run business with some wonderful and loyal staff. The Chef patron produces outstanding food and as we have visited twice in the last couple of weeks we can highly recommend the sea bass ,duck and thai monkfish. It has to be said also that the puddings are beautifully presented especially the selection of puds and I particularly fell in love with the pear drop ice cream. This is a hidden gem, first class cuisine in a friendly and extremely well run restaurant.

Omg. This place! Was recommended but jeez. So so lovely. They were amazing with my parents especially my dad who has dietary issues. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful, well done to the chef. Sadly the rest of the staff let you down. I rang to make a reservation and despite leaving details my call was never returned. A week later I called again and managed to book a table for 4 people. I was told I would only have the table for 2 hours (not the relaxing meal I was hoping for, but I was aware of the chefs reputation so booked). During our main course we were persistently (4 or 5 times) asked if we were finished when one of our party was clearly still eating. This became increasingly irritating and ruined a lovely meal. When we finished our main we enquired about getting coffee with soya milk. The waitress said she would enquire. After 10 minutes of waiting another waitress arrived and we just asked for the bill. We won’t be returning and wish the chef good luck. We have been to this location under previous management and the atmosphere was a great deal nicer.

We went as a party of 5 on the 8th march,restaurant just reopened and looked so great,really slick service,great options on the menu and the food was so great,tasty,great portions,seasoned to perfection,presented perfectly.we were all so very impressed and can’t wait to go back!one of our party had food allergies and that was catered for completely.thank you so much for a great evening

Absolutely fantastic night staff and service cant complain

Booked here Wed 26th August and was surprised at tha lack of social distancing and mask wearing by the staff. Apart from cleaning down the tables before seating customers and reasonable distance between tables, no other visible effort was made by staff to protect themselves or customers from infection. In fact it felt slightly surreal and more than a little scary, it was almost like we had walked into an alternative dimension where covid had never happened. To my mind unless the staff can maintain at least a meter plus while serving then they should be wearing masks. We have been to a few cafes/restaurants where they have done their best to do this successfully without too much difficulty and we were appreciative of this and felt a lot more relaxed while dining. Its our joint responsibility to follow the guidelines and beat this virus. The longer we ignore this the longer it goes on. OK on to the food. Cheesey garlic bread very tasty. Thai crab cakes tasteless and strange consistency and texture. Seared scallops with blackpudding, again very little flavour to scallops but blackpudding fine. We feared for the worse with the mains but these where in fact very good. Pepper pork and the duck both delicious. Not so impressed by the sticky toffee pudding. In that alternative dimension would have been a enjoyable meal overall.

Out of all of the places we visited during the help out August, this would be the only place that I would return too, without moaning. Yes, it is expensive. Worth it for a special occasion. I'm sure there could be deals to make it more available to families, but I haven't checked. Given the choice of here, the awful Ego or noisy San Marco, definitely here.

Changed hands from Langs to the Lounge Bar, good service, tasty food but very small portions at expensive prices. Only go if you're not hungry!

This restaurant is now called "The Lounge" - most of the same staff are there and the food is still great!

Fabulous meal and staff, will definitely visit and try once new owners are settled xx

5* dinning at Langs.Lovley lunch for around £15.00 per head for 2 courses,prices vary at the week end and eve,with a la carte and tapas to choose from.One pick is goats cheese starter with Palma ham,then we had sea bass,puddings delicious and beautifully presented.Lovley restaurant inside and good service.Highly recommend..... Another very nice lunch today(Oct 4,2019,lovley food,good service,beautiful decor,well presented dishes,good puds,delicious.Set menu,3 courses for £21.00,in eve/wed to Friday,and on a Sunday,great value.
