Laneway Coffee in Gosport

Stopped here for a drink and cake, amazing selection of Gluten / dairy free options. We shared 3 items, all delicious and took some for takeway. Reasonably prices, worth a visit.

Great coffee with lovely ambience and good food - all reasonably priced. Homemade cake was also delicious. Happy to recommend.

Always friendly and efficient. As I am gf I love the selection of cakes I have and so far they have all been lovely. We have also enjoyed a lunch there as well.

I was so please with the fact everything was gluten free, the best Cafe for gluten free food I have been to, The bread and filling was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful, I have recommend it to lots of friends.

Best flat white in awhile and made by Tracy and team. Cakes too, were delicious and good value, will be returning soon.

What a gem of a place if your gluten free or not! I’m a coeliac and struggle to find one choice of cake let alone 15!!! I went for the banana loaf which was moist and full of flavour washed down with a beautifully presented pot of tea. My husband is not gluten free but enjoyed a cappuccino with his mini egg chocolate cake he knows that gluten free doesn’t have to taste like cardboard if it’s made well, which it obviously the case here! There’s sandwiches both toasted and not, and a selection of jacket potatoes. Dairy free spread and cheese are available too! The staff were very attentive, friendly and informative about allergens which is always reassuring. It’s small but big on atmosphere and good quality food.

I bought a brie, ham and cranberry sandwich as a take out. I was charged £6.60. When I got home and thought about it I realised that was an awful lot for an average sandwich. We have plenty more cafes in Lee and I know at least one of them charges nearly half price for and take out sandwich, plus if you opt out of the side salad and coleslaw its even less. This was just an average sandwich on white bread. When I queried the price with the owner she said that the take out price is the same as the sit down price. She said she is not VAT registered, so surely she is saving 20% straight away. Very expensive for a mediocre sandwich.

An excellent place to come for coffee and cake, or for a plate of eggs on toast, or a sausage roll or sandwich. The coffee is outstanding, and virtually all the cakes are gluten-free, many of them also lactose-free. This is a small family-run establishment, quiet, with excellent and friendly service, which my cycling friends stop at whenever we are passing through Lee -- except on a Sunday!

Absolutely brilliant. Delicious food and everything is available gluten free - total heaven for my coeliac daughter. Plenty of dairy free options too. The coffee and food were delicious. Received a very warm welcome and bought more to take away too. Outstanding 😊

With so many previous good reviews, we thought this would be a good start to our days hiking on 28/11/19. First customers of the day but both teacakes turned up burnt. How is this acceptable. Didn't have time to request replacements as we had to catch a local bus to the start of our walk.

My favourite place for a peaceful and great cup of proper coffee. Food is great too. Very friendly welcome too. I feel very comfortable to visit alone and also with my husband and friends too. Never disappointed,always the best.

Wonderful coffee cafe also hot chocolate and a choice of 4 different types which surprised me it was lovely and chocolaty,choc sprinkled on top ,also it was hot not warm very enjoyable,greeted by 2 very friendly ladies who spoke soon as we walked in would recommend.

Had high hopes for this little place, especially as it's in Lee On Solent where there is so much competition, including an lovely place a few doors down that does cracking food...However, very disappointed! Ordered omelettes. Both came out runny, which I'm told is the proper way to serve it, but shouldn't actually be undercooked! No chips come with it, it's either a salad garnish or baked beans. Erm, grown ups eating!!£2.30 for a "long black".... There was NOTHING long about it, the tiniest cup - ever . Just a fraction bigger than an espresso cup.Overpriced for what you get. Such a shame. I personally think they are trying to do too much. Stick to coffee/tea and cake and broaden your range.

Have been here a number of times now and can’t recommend enough. Great staff, great food and great surroundings. Cater very well for gf, celiac and cater for lactose intolerance

Visited this cafe when on holiday and staying in Lee on Solent. I asked what they could offer that was gluten free and was told anything in the cabinet plus sandwiches if I wanted. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Not the measly choice of one or two pre-packed uninteresting, dry, boring cake or biscuit but an absolute cornucopia of cakes. Laneway Coffee set the standard that should be met by all cafes! Lovely not to feel abnormal or different. It was also nice that gluten free was not combined with dairy free or vegan in every option. I really wish I had a Laneway Coffee shop close to my home.

Laneway has the best coffee in the Lee/Gosport area. It has a great range of cakes and sandwiches too! If your ever visiting Lee for the beach or other reasons then you would be missing out not to pay a visit! The staff are friendly and you can tell they love what they do! Great job guys!

I just visited Laneway coffee for the first. I wanted a coffee shop to breakfast in whilst my daughter was at a birthday party. I wasn’t disappointed, the staff were very friendly, food was delicious, as was the coffee. It was all reasonably priced too,I’d definitely visit again.

Got chocolate tasted like dishwater! Would not recommend at all!! Staff didn’t care either when I said the hot chocolate was not good quality!!!

Really friendly, well informed, fabulous coffee. We had lunch there with our grandchildren. Toasted sandwiches, piping hot, crispy fantastic gluten free bread. Took cakes away with us. We will be returning.

Just a short coffee. Fantastic too, really creamy. The decor is nice, the pricing is simple and the cakes on offer in the cabinet nearly tempted me out of my diet...free papers, warm and inviting...

Stopped for a take out coffee, very good coffee and friendly staff. Came back the next day for another, sadly closed for a few days over the New Year period. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Absolutely brilliant food, we can’t fault Marie and the team they are completely au fait with allergies and have never let us down they also have a phenomenal selection of gluten and dairy free cakes so no one need miss out.

This small coffee shop offers Gluten Free cakes and snacks along with great coffee and tea etc. Now celebrating its 4th birthday and hope it will be in 'Lee' for many years to come. It is open till 4.30pm but does 3 course meal each month for which you have to book as it sells out very fast

I visited Laneway Coffee shop with a friend and our four children. The staff were extremely accommodating and moved tables so we could sit together. I am Coeliac and was amazed at the selection of Gluten free cakes and the lunch menu options. The cakes were delicious! On speaking to a member of staff she told me how they ensure there is no cross contamination between gluten and gluten free foods. Very impressive! It was such a lovely visit. I will definitely visit again.

I have visited this cafe on numerous occasions with family. It is a friendly laid back setting who can accommodate large groups and children. The waitresses are extremely helpful and friendly and are always on hand if needed. The food is fresh and cooked on site and delivered to the table swiftly. They accommodate a wide variety of food with allergy requirements as two of my family members are celiac and they are able to eat most of the menu items as for instance they can substitute normal bread for gluten free bread, they also have a lovely selection of gluten free cakes. Overall this is a lovely cafe with delicious freshly cooked foods, friendly staff and excellent service. I would always recommend

Almost 2yrs since our last visit to the cafe - didn’t realise it was that long ago. Although towards the end of High St it’s definitely worth seeking out for the friendly service, home made fare and reasonable prices. Their specialty is the range of coffee on offer (you can also purchase packets of your favourite blend) plus gf menu (so the place for you if suffering from coeliac issues). They do monthly dinner nights for £25pp (see website for details and past menus) where you can bring your own alcoholic drinks for no corkage charge. Cafe is convenient in summer months as it’s on the shady side of the street but unlike those on opposite side of road, there’s no pavement seating.

We booked a large table for a work lunch. The menu for lunch is basic - sandwiches, simple salads, jackets, but the food was good and they were able to cater for gluten and dairy free diets which was helpful. However the staff made me feel like we were causing considerable inconvenience by having a large group, and could have been friendlier.

Made a last-minute decision to pop down to the coast on a Friday afternoon. Checking Trip Advisor I found Laneway Coffee and was particularly tempted by the gluten-free reputation.

The title says it’s all really. It’s a lovely quite place on the high street. Where nearly everything is gluten free. The staff are friendly. The food is amazing and the coffee is really good and I’m very picky about coffee. Definitely worth a visit

Can't believe I missed out on visiting here, as I visit Lee all the time and somehow manage to miss this end of the High St. Will always do the 1-minute detour now for the best coffee in Lee! So good I went back twice in one visit! I think I've tried every cafe, but this is a proper coffee shop with a lovely selection of drinks, cakes, snacks etc.

Found this lovely little place the other day. It is staffed by two very pleasant ladies. The selection of G.F. is really good & very reasonably priced. My wife being a coeliac said the cake she had was 2nd to none, best she has ever tasted. Talking to the staff they are very aware of G.F. needs. The food is cooked fresh to order. They even do G.F. 3 course evening dinners, (have to book/pre order) once a month, at reasonable prices. Good variety on menu. I really enjoyed our visit & intend to visit a lot more in the future. Wife said her coffee was really nice compared to Starbucks or Costa

Always enjoy my sandwich lunch here, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. Much preferred to other coffee/tea shops in Lee.

First time I have visited. Opted for a takeaway flat white. Coffee was lovely, far superior to that Starbucks or Costa muck. Two ladies serving were very smiley and polite. Will definitely return .

We feel compelled to write a review this evening after returning from a dinner night at Laneway. We had an amazing feast. Every mouthful was delicious. Booking is a must as dinner nights are only once a month.

This is the gem of Lee on Solent. The coffee is the best in town. The cakes are all homemade and gluten free. Wonderful friendly staff really make this the hub of the community with all customers chatting amongst themselves as they enjoy the delicious coffee and lovely loose leaf tea. Our favourites are the cupcakes for the kids, scone with cream, Bakewell tarts, and choc orange sponge-all GF. The choice of food is yummy. A visit is a must and you’ll keep coming back (like we do).

Really excellent coffee and cake also been to several of the special evening meal nights and loved the food. Staff really lovely and always greet you with a smile.

All gluten-free cooking prepared by the wonderful Marie on the premises. Great food, great cakes, great snacks, and if you manage to book - a great dinner banquet (only available once a month) but well worth booking for. Limited availability - get in quick.

A cracking cafe for our 9 year old coeliac daughter (and me... killer coffees!!). Trips to the sea side can prove tricky, but with more Gluten Free cake options than she could shake a stick at, and a great selection of lovely sandwiches & toasties all available in..... shock horror.... a nice GF bread (yep you read that right!!), this little family cafe is a cracking find. Great family friendly vibe with a genuinely warm welcome, really pleased with our visit and would recommend.

We went to the coast yesterday and picked Lee on Solent as we wanted to visit Laneway Coffee, our 9 year old is Coeliac. We were not dissapointed!! Everything on the menu can be done GF if you wish. We all had toasties which were delicious. They have seperate preparation tables, chopping boards, utensils, butter and toasters so no cross contamination. All the cakes are gluten free and delicious! My daughter couldn't choose so we bought 2 cakes and had half each. Lovely place with a lovely lady owner who understands how hard it is for Coeliac's to eat out. Thank you - wish you were closer, we will return.

My husband and daughter are frequent visitors of this charming coffee shop and have been surprised how good the cakes taste even though gluten free. The staff are very friendly and helpful and would highly recommend a visit.

Finally a cafe that actually knows how to make a good coffee in Lee! The lemon cake slice I had too was delightful. Friendly staff and superb coffee and cake. Good on ya!

Went in for coffee - best cappuccino ever! Decided to have toasted sandwiches - husband is coeliac (as is the owner) so they were completely geared up for glutenfree ingredients, separate food preparation areas, different toasters etc. Brilliant! We couldn't fault them - friendly and good quality food. Decor is minimalist but clean and freshlooking. We'll be back!

Service and owner wonderful. Everything on menu could be reproduced gluten free. All though we had lunch of Jacket Potato and toasted sandwiches they were some of the best that we have had, Coffee was amazing. Would highly recommend this for anyone suffering with a wheat intolerant allergy.

There's a number of tea rooms/coffee shops on and behind the sea front - our reason for choosing this cafe was simply dictated by the fact it was a scorching day and most of the others were on the sunny side of the streets! However, it was a Good decision - their standard loose leaf tea (Belfast Brew) had a pleasant taste, my fussy wife had her latte made just how she likes it, there was only a small selection of cakes but it was around 4pm, you order at the counter and the friendly staff (owner?) will bring your order to the table. They also sell bags of coffee if you're a connoisseur (being a tea drinker I'm definately not!). Everything was nicely presented and I particularly appreciated a tea pot that doesn't leak all over the place!

Pot of tea comes in nice teapot with loose leaf tea. Good selection of home made cakes etc. Great place away from hustle of sea front!

Cracking little coffee house on the High Street. Popped in several times to do a bit of work while visiting Lee. Good, fast wifi (only cafe in Lee with good wifi, as far as I can tell), good coffee (the coffee they're brewing varies by the day - real stuff here), and good cakes. Comfortable surroundings and lovely, friendly staff.

To have a flat white coffee every Saturday morning whilst doing the 'local shop' is now firmly part of my routine. Excellent coffee that kick-starts my day. Friendly and attentive service from the owners.

First visit and very happy. Finding a cafe that really understands gluten free food is little short of a miracle. The bread for my cheese and tomato toasty was delicious, from a bloomer loaf I think (sourced in Scotland) and it came with nice side salad and dressing. Latte was great too. A good selection of gluten free cakes were on the counter. I saw that they have gluten free dinners once a month for £29 per person and having seen the past menus I think it would be great. If I lived locally I would be making this a regular haunt. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Perfect place just off the high street to pop in and have a cup of hot chocolate and a cake. Went in and ordered two drinks and some cakes sat down and was very nice, very clean, modern and tidy.

Really nice flat white, asked for a extra chocolately hot chocolate but it was like hot milk this is the 2rd time I've asked for this, this has put me off trying again, cakes looked lovely, very clean and friendly lady servings

Popped in on a rainy morning just after 9am. Had a coffee and toasted tea cake. Cheerful greeting, speedy service, food and drink delicious. Noticed that they serve a range of cakes and hot food including some gluten free. Will definitely come back when shopping in Lee again. Also good that they were open at 9.00am for early birds!

Popped into this new coffee/tea house today, and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly professional staff, and proper, yes! Proper! loose tea. Which I have to say was a welcome change from the normal gnat strength tea bags.

Wow somewhere I can eat without feeling awkward or worrying about what was in the ingrredients or cross contamination. Felt homely, warm, friendly and easy. and that pudding oh wow, I am going back just for the pudding! Delicious, generous and huge what a treat. I am looking forward to the next Gluten free meal there.

Very nice place to stop for lunch with a very warm welcome. Never had bad service or food from here. I would recommend anything of the menu especially the hot chocolate that is made with decent chocolate.

I have visited Laneway with friends several times now. The coffee is fabulous, well worth the visit for that alone. However there is a stunning selection of gluten free cakes on offer and a nice selection of sandwiches etc etc. Although my companion always opts for the coffee, I am a tea drinker so I would highly recommend the Belfast brew, traditionally brewed in a proper pot using leaf. Lovely!

Went here for breakfast with a friend just yesterday. Scrambled eggs on toast with a flat white. The coffee was SO good. They also had a small lush collection of gluten-free cakes. I'm coming back for that Affogato!

Not the first time I've visited. As usual there was a great selection of gluten free cakes and also dairy free ones. Friendly service, great food and reasonable price. What kore can anyone ask. Marie is so accommodating and friendly-a real asset. I will returning again very soon.

We visited today for a GF lunch. As my wife is GF this is a great place to come for savoury and sweet treats alike.

Stopped here for refreshments/snack whilst waiting for my bike rack to be fitted. Had cappuchino and toasted teacake. Staff were friendly. Food that I had was good. Coffee was one of the best I've tasted in a cafe for a while and just the right amount. Looked liked they had plenty of choice of cakes if I'd wanted. Reasonably priced too. Maybe not the best outlook in the High Street, but it wont stop me from returning.

Lovely, friendly and clean cafe which had a wide range of gluten free options on their menu. We had the best handmade bakewell ever , and also a lovely cupcake which went down very well :-)

After reading all the reviews I expected high quality, instead I was left with nothing but disappointment. They didn't have a wide range of cakes to choose from, and then when receiving a scone it was shop bought, plain and bland. My coffee I can't grumble about.. Members of staff stood around whispering. Atmosphere was terrible.

Visited recently for lunch had a coffee and tuna mayo salad. All very fresh and tasty - served with a smile and in good time. Coffee is superb - by far the best I've tasted in S Hampshire. This is a great coffee shop with good looking cakes and food - deserving of its high rating. Well done.

The coffee served here is very good, not your usual cheap bulk buy rubbish that can be found in other cafés/chains. Wide range of cakes including gluten free etc. Friendly staff. Nice decor.

All I can say is that the cake and drinks were lovely and we will return for other treats, such as the overly sandwiches! Also I think it is nice that the place is so open for people with allergies unlike others!
