Nice food, very good service especially considering we were a group of 30+. Would definitely recommend!

Wasn’t the best lamb dish I’ve had plus it wasn’t boneless which is what I prefer. It tasted bland for me, just ate the naan and fries so it was a waste of money really. Service was good, naan was nice as were the fries. Had really high expectations but oh well.

This restaurant knows how to bring back customers for a second time! Ordered lal qela from Uber eats for dinner. Food was absolutely fabulous. Food was absolutely given with generosity- ordered 4 kebabs but out the bag came 8! Prices were not to complain as well. will definitely be coming back soon.

My family and I recently dined at Lal Qela and were absolutely blown away by the exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our every need was met throughout the meal. A special shout-out to the chef and manager who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They were genuinely invested in our dining experience, checking in on us regularly without being overbearing. The food itself was superb. The quality was evident in every dish, and while it's not the cheapest restaurant, you absolutely get what you pay for. Every bite was delicious and beautifully presented. Even my kids, who can be picky eaters, raved about the salad, prompting the manager, Jameel, to kindly bring them an extra plate – a thoughtful touch that really impressed us. Jameel personally seated us when we arrived and took the time to chat with us as we were leaving. He even graciously posed for a photo with us! Beyond the food and service, the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant were also impeccable. Even though they were clearly busy, everything was spotless and well-maintained. The ambiance was lovely, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, our meal at Lal Qela was truly memorable. The combination of exceptional service, high-quality food, and a wonderful atmosphere makes it a must-visit. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

We had our loved one’s Birthday dinner at Lal Qila. The food was so delicious and fresh. The service was 10/10 by Jamil and Lala. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to host a gathering and enjoy an authentic quality food.

Food was very tasty, had mixed platter for starters, and lamb and chicken karahi for mains, with mango lassi, nan was beautifully baked. Also tarka dal and spinach/paneer Jameel wanted a mention, so hello Jameel :-), good service, thanks Was only offer bottled water, the licensing act requires restaurants to offer tap water, so the table water was provided on the house!

They have written on their wall that "Best Karahi in Birmingham"! I can say that they have absolutely justified their words. It's very hard to satisfied the taste buds of hyderabadi indian guy. But, I can say that they didn't leave any stones unturned to get their review down. Do visit this place and enjoy your tantalising food.

Food is very nice but waiters are rude and they alsp charged me for tap water which they placed on the table by there own will. How unprofessional!

I was told to wait 20 to 25 minutes. food was still not ready after one hour staff were keep saying 5 minutes came back without eating. Also they gave wrong order to my kids.

Places that always talk a big game end up disappointing. As a foodie and a person who has ate out alot I know authentic Pakistani taste and lala from tiktok assured me I have not had food like this anywhere except Pakistan (ok mate) and even went on to say their food is better than any place in Bradford (big statement) as I advised my guests were from Bradford.. My kids ordered chicken steak which was spicy with no flavour. My wife got lamb chops which were nice to look at but not to eat as they had this werird taste like metal. My lanb karahi arrived which was dry and deffo lacked flavour. The bill was £100 which I don't usually mind even the food is good but I could have had a much better meal at kabul darbar for less. Should have gone desi dera instead. Don't go here guys if you like your food full of flavour and authenticness.. I didn't usually write reviews but it's 6am I haven't slept all night with a heartburn and been throwing up most the night.

We had a 21st birthday party there yesterday. We really enjoyed the food, hospitality and kindness that we were showed there. The food was served on time and really tasty. We were served by jameel he was outstanding.

It was my nephews 21st birthday. The food was very nice we enjoyed our time very much. It is a very family friendly restaurant. The service was very good. We had 2 waiters both were outstanding. 1 of our waiters was Jameel and he was also very outstanding.

This is the only place in the whole of UK where poppadums cost £15 (although advertised for much less on the menu ) i found out later that it was price per poppadum which is very bizarre because who charges like that - I could’ve ordered kebabs for that price . I have been there a few times and whether we order less or more the bill is always the same - also every restaurant and even takeaways would give computerised bills but not this place , they will hand write it and use a calculator so you would never know if you overpaid or not.

food needed warming up and bland in taste. thin roti was chewy. ordered diet drink for diabetic to be sent full sugar. phoned restaurant said credit next time. spoilt meal . I've ordered before no issues but tonight was not the same unfortunetly

Went there very first time with family and felt so comfortable as soon as we entered. Seating, decor and the spacious hall straightaway attracted us. Next comes the service and the food. We loved the food all in all. We ordered Mixed Platter which was sufficient for us family of 6 including 4 kids. Mango lassi was very nice too. Rotis and naans we ordered and I would sat nans much better than rotis. I always order rotis elsewhere so could tell the difference. Rice in the platter were absolutely delicious. All the food was full of flavour. Customer service was outstanding too. The only suggestion is please use the right serving spoon for mixed platter. We were given a very long and deep steel spoon which I have always known to be used for currys not for rice and grills. This is a minor problem but I feel should be improved. I am very positive in my next visit, I would see a flatter serving spoon for rice and grills/ mixed platter. We would definitely visit again!

Second time I’ve been to this place. We were served by Jameel ( waiter but same like Manager ) very well dressed and mannered. Will definitely come again .also tea complimentary.

Great food, cooked really nicely and friendly staff. The only thing I would say is they need to take care payments - it is 2021! Update - I'm still a regular and they now take card payments!

I ordered a curry which was not what I expected however when I told the waiter he was so helpful and changed it for a different one which was delicious. The customer service at this place was exceptional.

It was second visit with family last yesterday just ordered fish 2tikka 2 pakora with 3 nans Just starters cost £55 for starters 3 persons Very expensive. It was medium taste never will even thin to visit lal qilla alum rock. Very bad experience.

Biryani was just okay but the quantity of rice was less there were only chicken boneless pieces with less rice. Samosa chaat was also okay but you could hardly find samosa in it.

Food was okay, service wasn't good. disappointed with the waiters service didnt advise on the portion size. Charged us £50 extra pn the bill. I will never eat here again. In total charged us £250. What a rip off!!!!

Laal Qela is true example of Oonchi Dukaan Pheeka Pakwaan .. we ordered charsi lamb. karahi which was nothing more than boiled lamb pieces with some ginger and green chilli thrown in the end no taste at all .. honestly waste of money, were given fancy bottle of warm water and upon asking was provided small glass of ice, gave us 2 pieces of tissue for the 3 of us had to ask again. The atmosphere was quite good but not busy at all and now we know why.. anyways we did not enjoy at all after shopping all day at alum rock road we wanted good food but last roti and half we dipped in the oil and scrapped the karahi only to finish off the roti so it doesnt go to waste and tbh we were hungry :( .. i hope they improve their food after reading this.

What a let down - waiters just don't care food was poor quality and no Taste.my nan could make better food from her hospital bed!! Don't be fooled by the guys wearing waistcoats. I really miss koi noor from across the road that was a million times better. Save your money guys and go elsewhere. I would give them a -5

They have nice service and a nice atmosphere. The food was not nice, the side of the shish kebabs were burnt and the lamb chops and rice didn't taste nice either. Poppadoms were £1 each as well, which is a bit expensive if you think about it

The quality off the food was excellent but personally I didn't enjoy the meal , there was nothing wrong with it but it was too spicy for me and I didn't enjoy any of it . it also wasn't very hot so really disappointed as I was looking forward to the meal . all no fault of the take away , just personal taste , sorry .

Asked clearly for just the chilli sauce with a large order of kebabs. But the usual default of a mix of all… clearly do not read any notes attached to orders. Really annoying , please train your staff to read customer requests

Don’t come to this place for iftar. Really poor service, we ordered 40 mins before iftar time and we were the last table to be served. Didn’t even get to eat our starters until over 30 mins after iftar time.

Came to here for the first time and the food was amazing all the staff was very friendly specially Jamil he made us feel very welcome. The food was a reasonable price.

Karahi had a lot of salt in it , even the chutney was salty. No taste to karahi , chicken didn't taste fresh.

Not happy, what I had ordered I didn't receive it. Instead got something else.

Rude chap at the restaurant(see picture). He got angry when we selected our table and not what he selected and seemed not wanting to work. Food was very cold like they defrosted it and did not even warm it but placed it in a pan to serve. Avoid this place like plague. We will never waste our money there again. All staff were unwelcoming and food was a let down. They put the tea in the slush puppy machine and when we ordered it tasted so disgusting.
