Very disappointing. Used to go here a lot but now probably won’t again. The food is sloppy and lacking in proper flavour also rather greasier than it used to be.

Second time the egg fried rice appears to have no egg, shredded duck had a small bone in it that nearly cracked my tooth. Charged £3 extra for delivery in Aylesbury

The food was lovely and tasty. Also, the staff are really look after the customers and friendly. I had an amazing experience with lakeside.

Shocking takeaway driver turned up and demanded another £2 on top of the £3 I already paid for delivery. Food was bland and tasteless

I HAD TO REPORT THE MANAGER/OWNER TO THE POLICE. I ordered chicken satay, and what I got was something that looked like chicken in black beans, when we tasted it, there was no flavour of chicken satay. And It was runny too. It did not look or tasted like chicken satay at all . So I called to complain, and in fact I was not requesting for another meal. I just wanted to let them know that they gave me the wrong one but they decided that they would provide me with the correct meal. When the owner came over, he brought exactly the same food and told me that it was chicken satay and rudely demanded for the previous meal that I ordered. When I gave it back to him. He opened it and accuse me of eating half of the meal which was very untrue because we just tasted it and the food box was still very full. ( I have pic evidence) This awful man proceeded to screaming at me, and swearing too! My husband heard and came out to rescue me from the man, and of course we give him as good as he gave us, and told him to leave our property immediately. The worst customer experience of my life. Please do not go there to buy your food. If you want good food and your sanity maintained.

Awful. Missing item, phoned Lakeside up to be called a liar. Customer service was appalling and the man on the phone was rude. Food was over cooked and dry. First time ordering from here, will definitely not be going back and would not recommend for anyone to go here. Disgusting food and service!

Staff have been extremely rude on both occasions trying to order from here in the last few months. We ordered a set menu and two items didn’t arrive but the person on the phone insisted he packed them so we must have them!! Wait for a delivery was twice as long as they said and food wasn’t hot. Will not bother ordering from here again.

Today i called and ordered chicken chop suey. They did not know what it was. Embarrassed for them!!!!

I have used this takeaway a few times before and it has been okay, over the last few months it seems to be improving I asked for extras on the delivery app JustEat and it has come through exactly as asked much quicker than stated, excellent quality food, will definitely be ordering again and can wholeheartedly recommend this Chinese takeaway in Aylesbury

I had a really bad experience . I ordered takeaway and food was not what i saw in their website. I returned the food thinking i got wrong order and they collected it. Later they called saying it was what i had ordered and they will not give me refund. So no food and no money back... i said the pic on your website for that food is not what i got and the owner spoke to me the pic is just pic and that is what they served as the dish and i should not tell him what to do or not to when i suggested to change the pic then on the website as it is misguiding... he was very rude.... i ended up hanging up...I will NEVER be ordering from them again!!!! Horrible experience ....!!

I'm writing this only as a result of the "owners" lack of response and rudeness. My partner and I are regular customers of lakeside takeaway, ordering at least once every two weeks. Usually we are very satisfied with the service we get and the food, however, on this occasion it was below par on many different levels. First, we had ordered a portion of curry sauce, this did not come and was replaced with sweet and sour, something I could easily overlooked and although mildly annoying, wasnt a huge deal. The main issue was that the chicken and sweetcorn soup which I had ordered had a long black rancid hair in it as soon as I lifted the lid which made me feel ill to the thoght of eating. I called the restaurant and a young girl swiftly passed me to the owner who instead of apologising or asking for details, instead, insinuated that it was myself or my partners hair!! I assure him my partner is blonde and my hair is much shorter and the hair was there as soon as I opened the lid top to which he just seemed annoyed. His demeanour and attitude was ridiculous and comeplety disregarding and made it seem like I was inconveniencing him!! Yeah right mate, how about a handful of hair in your food next time you're out and see how you like it!! Regardless, he sent his delivery driver back to check the actual soup had a hair in which was ridiculous enough. I then had to give the driver my phone because his couldnt call his boss to which I could overhear his irritated tone when the driver confirmed the hair was present and proceeded to take the food back to the restaurant. The owner has since then returned on his word and I have heard absolutely nothing off him. A cowardly act and one that shows no regard for his customers and no backbone to actually admit that his kitchen made a mistake. I would like to take the time to address the owner who will hopefully take the time to read his reviews. You know you were wrong, you know this was your mistake and the fact you couldnt even provide a courtesy call to let me know that you took notice of your mistake or would action this breach of health and safety shows the kind of character you are and level of respect for the industry you're in. I sincerely hope that their standards improve, however, to do that, they must first action their mistakes before someone else unfortunately consumes the body hair of THEIR staff.

The only good thing is the food delivery was quick - that's it. Then it went downhill from there. They advertise 10% discount for ordering online but don't give it. They advertise free delivery for local but charge £2. The food is very poor quality, tasteless and rubbery, the pork is questionable.

Usually quite particular with the Chinese places I eat at but I and my friend decided to try this place out. We ordered quite few bits and honestly I have NEVER been so infuriated with a takeaway I have purchased. The food was disgusting! It was not fresh, the chicken pieces were rock solid and the rice dishes had no taste at all (tasted like plain rice fried in oil.. extremely unseasoned). I politely went back to the restaurant to let them know that the food was not up to scratch and in other words I was told ‘tough’, they refused to give me a refund or to offer a solution even though the manager went through my food with his grubby fingers to prove in his opinion that the chicken was ‘fresh’. The police had to be called in the end in order to resolve and get my refund. The manager and his wife of this business is very arrogant and both have terrible customer service. They do no treat their customers with kindness neither do they care about the views/opinions of their customer, their restaurant would not go far at all if they continue the way they do! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE ORDERING FROM THEM!

Ordered a takeaway from lakeside chinese takeaway in Aylesbury this evening. Spent £77 and £3 delivery. Food arrived via a very rude driver who said he had been looking for the house for 35 minutes which I find strange as we had only ordered 45 minutes before which meant they obviously had rushed the food preparation. On arrival the food was luke warm. We dished up and started eating when we discovered the chicken balls were not cooked properly, one had blood in it! This put us all off so we basically threw £77 away. I rang to complain and the man I spoke to was very argumentative, saying chicken was always cooked twice there so couldn't be raw. After 10 minutes of trying to put my point across I was told that next time we order he will give us extra food in for free, i pointed out that wouldn't be much help if we all got food poisoning from raw chicken! I was ordering for 6 months twice a week from this shop and today I got some Thay food this being much more hot then usual , I called back to try to get a replacement being a local customer I expect this will go well but in stead when I get the manager on the phone he start being angry and rude of course when I heard all this I start being the same , he treated me over the phone and use fu...ING words ...very bad customer service !!!

Didn't feel safe, no face coverings. I visited in February to collect a takeaway, there were three men sat in the waiting area not wearing face coverings and I was served by a fourth man who was not wearing face coverings. It's a small room, I didn't feel safe. It's too small for table service in there, I feel they should have been doing more.

Would love to comment on the food but it never arrived. We called the number before ordering and asked if they delivered to our address, which they said yes. We place a £43 order and one hour later they call to say the food will not be delivered as we live too far!!!! Totally unprofessional and did not deliver on what they promised or advertised. They have took our money and NOT sent it back or refunded. Terrible service, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Thieves

We had prawn crackers, the mixed starters, crispy duck and sweet&sour pork balls.The prawn crackers were probably the best thing.The starters were disappointing - the prawn crackers were hard and overcooked, and the spare ribs were very dry. The duck was all dried up. The pork balls were edible and the sauce was OK but the rice didn't taste wonderful.They also charged us £2 delivery despite being well under 5 miles away.

Usually my favourite Chinese and my go-to for good food. Sadly my last order was far from good... I ordered online and left a comment for a paper receipt.. the delivery driver turned up not knowing who or what he was delivering. He offered no receipt stating the shop didn’t hand one to him. I rang up the shop and was greeted by a woman with a rude demeanour, she wasn’t helpful at all and had to ask her manager about a receipt, I over heard her conversation and she misgendered me, when I corrected her when she come back on the phone, she just laughed, no apology given. She then said to ring back in 10 minutes and put the phone down.. I rang back this time to ask for the receipt and to complaint about the food as it was cold, watery and greasy. The lady immediately passed me over to the manager who wasn’t helpful at all and didn’t wanna help resolve the situation and ended the conversation by swearing at me and telling me not to order again. This is the first time I’ve ever left a bad review for any place.. I’m not a Karen, but please order elsewhere

We recently had a take away from Lakeside. We were both very disappointed & sadly will not be returning. The chicken curry had no onions or peas & tasted like a horrible powder curry. Unfortunately it ended up in the bin. My partner had spare ribs. They were covered in onions! Never have we seen this from any Chinese. The rubs themselves were sparse with any meat. 2 easy meals which were not up to standard. The rice & chips were the only positive part of the meal. So sad as we can walk to lakeside but would rather go to Fairfird leys where we have never had a disappointed meal.

We usually have a delivery once a week. Although somewhat more expensive than others in the area, the quality is better. However the quality has been dropping recently. Tonight's delivery was prompt enough, but the meat was very tough and dried out. As though it had been around a while and reheated.Also the delivery driver was not wearing any PPE, so does make us question their food hygiene standards. If this is what we are seeing at our door, what is going on back in the kitchen?

Super impressed. I was sceptical due to reviews on here that others have left but I am local and wanted to support a local business, especially one I had not tried before. We ordered online which was so easy, food was a great price (£32 for 4 main dishes, 1 rice and 1 noodles), it arrived in 20 mins which was great, food was hot, nicely packaged (some cardboard boxes which is preferred to plastic for environmental reasons!) and smelt great. The food was incredible, we didn’t leave anything and don’t feel rubbish afterwards as you often can after takeaways. Would recommend!

Ordered for first time after just moving to the area, sceptical about trying a new Chinese. However would honestly say best Chinese I have ever had. Food was delicious! Abit of a wait due to pandemic etc but so worth it! Friendly staff too!

We ordered from here for the 2nd time; first time we experienced no problems and the food was good. Second time they sent the wrong dish. On top of that, when we opened the lid there was a medium length hair in the dish. We called to ask they send the right dish please and that was our mistake. How this business continues to run is beyond me. In our first phone call, the manager told us we had the right dish, he had packed it himself, but reluctantly he would send the 'correct' dish and he wanted the wrong one back to check. Unusual practice but we agreed. It took about 20 mins to get through by phone. Then 5 mins later we received a phone call back to say he did not require the original dish back. My husband requested that could he possibly send another bag of chips as it had now been over 30 mins and ours had gone dry and cold. We were told 'the chips are not cold' and then the manager became extremely abusive - shouting down the phone, using language that no professional manager of a shop should use. After that call, which was shocking to say the least, we contacted the shop by their chat system and told them not to send the correct dish, we did not want them at our home. We had two further calls with the shop that night - we called them asking for a full refund and was told the manager would ring us back. This he did over an hour later, telling us he would come round and collect the uneaten food (we declined this), he believed we were complainers, were making the whole thing up and refused us a refund, telling us to go sort it with our bank. We have never dealt with such bad customer service in our life. We have a child who was shaken by the whole incident and our whole evening was ruined. If you buy food from here, take our advice and don't complain even if its not up to scratch - the verbal abuse we received is not worth it. Having now looked at other reviews about the business we can see ours is not a one-off incident!

You know what guys this is probably one of the best Chinese food I ever tasted. First time ordering and will %100 order again. it was fresh, quality and excellence tasting. Good customer service and very friendly manager, Thank you 🙏

We ordered a take away. I paid best part of £30 for 2 starters and one main meal. The food was over 1 1/2 hours in coming. I understand there is a crisis at the moment but this is unacceptable. The won tons were appalling; no filling at all. We ordered a replacement and it was the same. I’m not sure they know what won ton look like. I paid extra for spring onions with duck pancakes. If I got half an extra spring onion for that, that was it. The duck was completely overcooked, like eating bones, and the original bones were left in. Outrageous for I’ve £12 for 1/4 duck. The fried rice was dry as a bone, and the chicken dish had no sauce. It was inedible, despite the fact we chucked some chicken soup over it to introduce some moisture!We complained to the management and the complaint was quickly followed up by an abusive call from the manager (or so he claimed he was). He wouldn’t listen to what I said, instead gave me a mouthful of what essentially said he did not want our custom again. He was annoyed and shouting at me. He refused any token of goodwill or refund. He told me not to order from his restaurant again. Well, he needn’t worry about that! Appalling food, huge delay and terrible customer service. Keep your money in your pocket folks. I am bitterly disappointed. I enclose pictures of our £30 meal. They are of the infilled wonton, the ‘extra ‘ £1.50 worth of spring onion, the bony duck, and how much food was left at the end that needed to be thrown out. When I opened up trip advisor and saw the existing reviews, I wasn’t surprised just irritated that we hadn’t checked up on Lakeside before ordering.

Ordered three times in abt 12 months.The food is usually not bad, nothing special, but that is fine with us.The real issue is:We have tried to opt out of their marketing texts, but our requests have been ignored so far. On their website, you can only opt out if you give them even more private information. And they do not delete your data.We will certainly not do business with a company that has such a dubious approach to data protections.

there is a few things that nobody makes better than this restaurant, like prawn balls and soups .. other places makes them taste boring but this place have made me fall in love with spicy flavour that I would never ever in my life eat I rather starve than eat spicy food but this so delicious I can’t stop enjoying it !!! delivery is spot on and I just love everything about it this place , owner is lovely too ..

First time we've tried this take away & weren't disappointed. The waiting time was around half an hour which is not good when you're hungry. On the plus side a long wait shows they are busy & food is cooked fresh. We had a Thai green curry, Thai red curry & noodles. Everything was piping hot & well cooked. The portion sizes are very generous. Would use again.

My family & I enjoyed a variety of items ~ soup, rice, noodles, chicken, prawn balls, dumplings, won ton, chips and prawn crackers. All really tasty, everything was hot, and delivered in good time. Love the cute panda boxes too! :)

Never use this place. Ordered a take away 2 hours ago. Order accepted. Rang them after an hour and half and they said order was with driver. Rang half hour later and they said order had been cancelled. Apparently they tried to ring me but I received no calls or voice emails. Shocking customer service. Couldn't leave a zero rating.

I’ve ordered a few times from Lakeside - I’ve always thought they were expensive and when you add the delivery and card charge... very expensive, but hey, what price convenience?

£2 delivery charge,£8 for two portions of salt and pepper chips that were cold and tasted of cardboard. Rest of the order was average. Very expensive. Avoid.

We have lived in the area for nearly 20 years and have used this takeaway for the whole time. However, the last few deliveries have been greasy and low quality meat. Tonight was the final straw for us ... ordered 5 dishes 3 are wrong and the king prawn dish had just 2 king prawns. Disappointing. Will not use again...

Delivered prawn balls instead of chicken, kids would not eat them and spat them out so I called , the lady apologised and said they would be straight round, 10 minutes later the owner calls me to say they will not deliver unless the prawn balls are returned. ( what were they going to do with them ) I explained they had sweet and sour sauce on them and the kids had spat them out , his reply was “I can’t be giving out free food to everyone when I get an order wrong unless it is returned “ . We order every week, they usually get something wrong With the order but we manage , only this time did I call them because the kids would not eat them , absoloutley disgusted.

Bad seaweed (made with old cabbage?), tough pork, terrible soup (all mushed up) Good crispy chicken and meal for one is good value. Very sweet and friendly receptionist.

The best Chinese takeaway that does delivery in Aylesbury By a million miles, since China garden closed I've been trying to find a great takeaway, WOOOO THIS IS A MISSED GEM

We have used this Chinese takeaway on Watermead since moving here in May and it is by far the best Chinese we have had including restaurants. Highly recommend.

Go hear probably once every 2-3 months, and it is very hit and miss. Sometimes it's a bit greasy, but most of the time the food is amazing! Slightly pricey, but we are willing to pay the extra pennies for good quality food!

Es un tiempo que no he estado aquí y había algunas nuevas adiciones al menú. Visitamos el domingo por la noche de fin de semana. Era tarde y no muy concurrida, aunque había pocos pedidos teléfono. No había pedido (yo había intentado encontrar un menú en línea, pero no parece haber un sitio web), pero la comida era preparado y listo en unos 5 minutos. Elegimos pequeño arroz al vapor, dulce y agria, pollo frito y salsa satay en tres (ternera, pollo y langostinos con verduras - una de las nuevas adquisiciones menú y disponibles con una variedad de salsas). Todavía estaba caliente después de 5 minutos, además de caminar a casa. El tamaño de las porciones son grandes y la comida era deliciosa y me pareció una buena relación por alrededor de £11.

Pedimos un esta noche, tardaron más de una hora para ser entregado. Cuando finalmente llegamos estaba apenas tibia así que obviamente viajamos por el coche de entrega por un largo tiempo. Por esta vez nos moríamos de hambre así que nos pusieron en el horno para calentar. Somos clientes leales y decepcionado con la calidad, pero más decepcionante era la actitud indiferente de la gestión. Estábamos demasiado hambre que esperar a todo ser preparado otra vez y pedimos un reembolso. La respuesta fue que le dará un reembolso, pero tienes que volver la comida! No recomendaría ellos basada en este servicio terrible

No verlo nunca más. La última comida salió una hora y 10 minutos más tarde y no es sorpresa que estaba fría. Cuando me llamó me dijeron que iban a enviar otra vez en una hora o tiro en la papelera. Pobre un pobre servicio al cliente lo que solía ser un cliente regular

A very good takeaway with good sized portions and a menu with plenty to choice from. all our meals were delivered very hot and came with added extras. Place your order and have a drink in the Inn across the way.

Phoned up and ordered for collection. We had the following Singapore Noodles ,salt and pepper Squid,salt and pepper ribs which were nice.
