Lakes Bistro in Lancaster

The food was okay and the staff attentive but the ambience of the bistro was so stale, lacked ambience and was just really quite strange. It felt like being in an empty conference room. Not for us and we won't be returning

We stayed at Pine Lakes for 5 nights in April and used the bar and restaurant a few times during our stay. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff throughout. Orders taken and both food and drinks arrived promptly. Although the prices have increased, it still offers value for money, as portion sizes are large. Menu has quite a good choice, so we opted for the Chicken fajitas and scampi, washed down with a lovely bottle of Chardonnay, absolutely delicious and no complaints. We couldn't believe how busy it was, so maybe best to book if you want to eat in the actual restaurant, we just ate in the bar area and it was lovely, a great atmosphere too.

Lovely food and service but restaurant itself lacked warmth and atmosphere. Background music, plants, booth seating would create interest. It doesn't look or feel like a welcoming restaurant. Good menu options and especially for vegetarian diets. Food is reasonably priced.

We stayed at Pine Lakes for 4 nights and used the bar and restaurant a few times during our stay. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff throughout. Orders taken and food arrived promptly. The menu has quite a good choice, on our first visit we opted for the Chicken burger with fries and the homemade steak and ale pie, washed down with a lovely bottle of Chardonnay, absolutely delicious and no complaints. Our next visit we had the scampi and chicken fajitas, again both dishes were excellent. Enjoyable visits and would definitely recommend 

My wife and I staying for 3 nights,on the first night,we decided to have a few drinks,and then ordered Fish & chips twice from the restaurant to takeaway,both meals were very nice,at prices you would expect to pay,at a holiday resort,very friendly staff,both behind the bar and serving on.

Staying at Pine Lakes resort so decided to eat in their restaurant on our first evening. Fairly basic restaurant room but the staff were excellent. All food and drinks orders taken promptly with a smile. Food delivered in good time and excellent. Enjoyable meal. Would recommend.

While out walking the Capernwray and the River Keer walk, which passes Pine Lake, we decided to pop in for a quick refreshment. Plenty of seating options available both inside and outside, however as it was a beautiful day, we opted to sit outside and take in their views over the lake. Friendly and welcoming staff in the bar, with a good range of drinks available at competitive prices. Beautiful quiet setting with stunning views.

We were staying at pine lakes for the weekend celebrating a birthday with family, so went to the restaurant for ease, and unfortunately were disappointed. The food was underwhelming - nothing too wrong but things like the katsu curry and fajitas just lacked any flavour. One of our chicken wings was raw in the centre - after a brief back and forth about whether it really was, they did knock it off the bill. The ambience as well was a bit dated, and stuck between trying to be formal and a casual on site restaurant - but not hitting either. It certainly didn’t warrant the price. The staff however were friendly and helpful. Especially after staying at other diamond resorts, this just didn’t hit the mark.

We just visited during our stay at pine lake. We had an 7.30pm booking and were seated after arrival, a few minutes later our drink order was taken and the server was lovely at answering our questions, anything he didn't know he went and asked. A wait later our order was taken and then the real waiting began. Not including the 20 minutes it took us to eat our food, we waited just short of one hour for our food to come out, if the wait was this long it would be okay if staff communicated but this did not happen. Once we ate our food the wait began again to get our plates cleared, there were 4 staff members for around 16 tables but the staff seemed confused on what to do. Once our plates were cleared we asked for the dessert menu, the server who said she would get it then when on to serve, seat, take bills and orders for around 6 other tables, before we had to flag her down for the menu we had earlier requested. In the end we asked for the bill as it wasn't worth the wait. Whilst the staff were lovely and the food was average the wait was certainly poor. I've never spent so long waiting without any communcation or appolgy about the deley from staff. If the time wait was adjusted or explained if it was unreasonbly long (around one hour) communication should be given, this is the only reason I wouldn't return, otherwise it was decently good.

Being Diamond / Hilton members, we were staying at Pine Lake Resort and went to Lakes Bistro each evening over the past week. Enough choice on the menu to have different dishes - all of which were very tasty and decent sized portions. Good choice of well-priced drinks (wine, beer) along with excellent, friendly staff made each meal a pleasure.

We had a lovely evening at the Bistro last night. We a regular clients and always have excellent service. I have to mention the staff because we both feel they are excellent and really do take good care of there customers.

A fair choice of courses all of which are competitively priced. I chose the steak and ale pie with well creamed mashed potatoes. Ample meat in the pie and excellent onion gravy supporting it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The house chardonnay wine was very enjoyable

We were pleasantly surprised on our first evening at pine lakes. I had soup and small fish and chips. The fish and chips plus peas were perfect, the soup a bit disappointing .my friends meal was outstanding we eat on the second day at lunch after spa treatments totally amazing fresh well cooked good portion size just lovely and welcoming atmosphere. Loved it thanks guys

We are at both the bar and in the restaurant. All of our meals were piping hot when arrived, were absolutely wonderful and prepared exactly how we requested. The staff were helpful and approachable and the tables were properly cleaned between guests. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced.

Visited here as we were staying In the resort. Upon arrival no one was to be seen to greet us to the table. We waited a good 5 minuted then we were seen there was only one more table that had people on so that should have rang alarm bells. The gentleman that served us was polite and pleasant. Just a shame the food was expensive with no atmosphere and bland food we will not be back even if we visit again.

Lovely home cooked food! We always go off trip advisor but the pictures didn’t look great but we took a chance and go glad we did!! Great steak fajitas ( I asked for med rare as I know they would continue to cook on hot plate) and steak pie with chips! Would recommend! Staff were friendly too! Prices were reasonable! While staying at Pine Lake again,  we used the on-site bar and restaurant a couple of times. Great value for money on both drinks and food. A good varied menu, from light bites, to meals, pizza's to sharing platters, something for everyone. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Large outdoor seating area at the back overlooking the lake. They offer a takeaway service too, which is an excellent idea, especially with the surroundings. A great asset to the Resort.

Stayed at Pine Lakes Resort and ate in this Bistro twice. A good choice of food on the menu. Some dishes were available as a smaller portion . The food was good and the staff efficient.

What a great place to have on-site. Visited a few times during our stay. Great menu choices at reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff.

Came here on Friday night for dinner. Booked in advance and glad we did as it was very busy. Hand sanitiser on arrival. The restaurant was that busy we got sat in the entertainment area which was fine. It has a lovely ceiling in there....

Stayed in a lodge for a week, and used the Lakes Bistro many times for both food and drinks. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. All covid regulations in place. A Great Asset to Pine...

£9.20 for a small takeaway pizza. Absolutely disgraceful....6 tiny slices? How can you justify that?

We regularly go to the Bristro on a saturday night. They have really handled the covid situation really well.We feel really safe. The food and staff are lovely.

We ate here on two night and we had lovely meals. I was amazed how much they had for veggies which was fab for me. The staff were so lovely and the food was excellent. It was always hot and the place was very clean :) ❤️We also came for breakfast very reasonable prices too :) I would recommend the pizza, the fajitas and the toasties Great :) book as they get busy We will be back :)

This is the restaurant for Pine Lake resort, so family friendly. Food very good, plentiful and varied menu. Staff lovely. Good value too.

We’ve been staying at the resort and noticed the Tuesday night Italian Buffet. we immediately decided to go and certainly weren’t disappointed!! As well as the pizza, pasta, salad and chips, you could order off the normal evening menu which 2 of our party decided to do and were just as pleased! Would have returned but we ran out of days!

Eaten here over several days and all food was amazing and very reasonably priced. All staff very kind and very helpful. Well done team Thankyou

Lakes Bistro is within Pine Lake Resort and offers an all round selection of food from Pizzas to juicy steaks and of course vegetarian options, it has a relaxed atmosphere, but can get very busy, so booking is a must, the staff are pleasant and willing to help. The prices are mid range and they are open for breakfast and lunches as well as evening meals. If you re visiting Pine Lakes or Carnforth, I would recommend a visit here.

The meal we chose was the sharing starters, one of each, which were fantastic, but we could have stopped at that point. This we followed with differing main courses, all of which were very tasty and hot. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage dessert!! Really good meal, at a very reasonable price, especially when they cater for people staying on the resort, like ourselves.

My wife and I and two friends,went on a Tuesday night for Pasta and Pizza night,2 of us had pasta and pizza and 2 had BBQ chicken off the evening menu,both sets of meals were very good,as much and ,chips,salads,garlic bread you can eat,really friendly staff,we will be back.Thankyou.

Very disappointed, I have had my best steak here and now I have had my worst. It took an hour after we ordered to be served our mains. The steak was very poorly cooked. The whole meal was poor hard chips. The steak was none edible and apologies given by the chefs bit sorry not good enough. Spoilt my daughters 16th Birthday meal out. All food had been rushed and then must have sat as it was very cold. Very poor and an apology with some money off the bill we accepted as we wanted to leave. Not enough compensation due to the fact the chef admitted it was cooked properly due to rushing. It made me rough all night and the next day. Very disappointed as like I said earlier had my best steak here a few years ago.

Ate in the restaurant three nights running and unfortuantely the time left waiting for the food did not improve irrespective of the order. 45 minutes to serve up a sharing platter of Nachos is just unacceptable, especiaaly when the plates were brought to table 15 minutes earlier.I did feel sorry for the waitresses who where run off their feet one minute and strggling for things to do the next. No point in operating a booking system if you are not gooing to spread the diners in line with kitchen capacity. In saying that the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I am ceoliac and the options available to me where excellent. Over the weekend I covered British, mexican and Italian cuisine

Whilst staying at Pine Lake we visited the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. Starters were good but the main meals were poor. Food didn't look appetising. Chips tasted like they had been heated up and the fat needed to be changed. Gammon undercooked, BBQ chicken appeared to be frozen not fresh, sausage tough. Burger and chicken nuggets OK.

Great value for money, portion size is very good and a great choice of food, been here more than a few times and always been very good. Staff friendly and efficient I would definitely say it's worth a visit.

Visited the Bistro several times during my visit and was able to choose varying dishes due to the wide variety of options. This included going to the Pizza & Pasta Evening which previously was a no go. Staff very helpful

Stopped off here to grab a gluten free sandwich and a latte. As expected it was very tasty however I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer a wide range of gluten free options including pizza. Staff were friendly and helpful

Very limited menu . Just the basics tasted very average. It was a quiet lunch time and still took a while . Not unpleasant . So if your just looking for fish and chips . Sausage and mash that's about it . More of a cafe really

Booked a table as didn’t want to drive out of The Lakes complex, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was excellent. The menu seemed to offer a bit of everything, Mexican, Indian, Italian and Traditional. Starters weren’t great I’d probably swerve them. The mains were ok standard again not amazing. Good service, average food. We’d go again but just for the convenience

Good priced menu smaller portions available for the kids and people will smaller appitites larger dining area so its easy to get a table

Nice food, good portion sizes, reasonably priced, would advise booking table as we could not be seated in restaurant but we could order the same food and sit in the bar area which was fine with us as we did not want to wait the 40 minutes for table in restaurant.

For the non-resident the Lakes Bistro offers a typical Bistro menu at a very affordable price. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The Bistro is open between 17:00 and 21:00. The menu is simple but value for money.

We love going for a chilli each Saturday. We really enjoy a session in the spa and then a meal. The ice cream is gorgeous. One of the best I've ever tasted.

Lovely spacious restaurant, not an extensive menu, but enough to suit most tastes, it was quiet when we visited at lunch time, the service was quick, the food arrived swiftly and was plentiful, and tasty, although my wife expressed a slight concern, that the curry was a little bland, but this is down to personal taste, I had a mouthful, and it seemed OK to me, but hey, I`m not going to argue with the better half, I have more sense than that.Anyway, I would highly recommend this eaterie. Good food, relatively inexpensive, and a fab location.

There is a bar area for drinks and meals and a separate restaurant for meals. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The choices are wide enough and cater to most palates. The food served is of excellent quality. The atmosphere is good a different the restaurant can be booked either for a small party dining along with other paying patrons or the whole restaurant can be booked for a large party. The price for meals and drinks are reasonable and worth every penny

Friendly efficient staff made for an enjoyable evening meal. The menu is not vast but adequate. The food is good and prices are reasonable. As well as the main menu they have a small bites menu, with smaller portions. Still a good size meal and £6 for Fish Chips and peas, excellent value.

staying at pine lake is fantastic and having an evening meal here is a fabulous experience Food is good and plentiful service is always with a smile and if you want it a chat!! Prices are competitive and the lounge area to sit in either before or after is comfortable too

They say a good Breakfast sets you up for the day well the full English at Lakes Bistro Pine Lakes certainly helped get my day of to a good start. Excellent food Amazing & polite staff Great Prices Highly recommend & will certainly be back!

Dropped in to this venue for a lunch with the family. Pleasantly surprised to see the addition of gluten free bread for their sandwich selection. Service was good with staff being chatty and efficient. No additional charge for the gluten free option either. Good quality and portion of serving.

The Bistro is open to the public as well as guests of the Pine Lakes Resort. We joined our son, daughter in law and granddaughter for lunch. The dining room is simple, but good sized. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was fairly prompt, when you consider it was a low season Tuesday in November. We started with the Lakes Combo platter for 4, a lovely mix of ribs, chicken satay, italian ham, onion rings and garlic bread. Then two of us had the lamb hotpot, which was served with a fresh bread roll and pickled red cabbage. The lamb was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Another had the jalfrezi chicken curry, which she said was very tasty and not over spiced. My lady had the beer battered haddock, chips and mushy peas. She commented that the fish was very fresh and flaky, and the chips and peas were good. Our granddaughter opted for the chicken goujons, chips and peas from the Children's Menu. It must have been good, she left very little! It was a good lunch with well sized portions. And we'll go back.

Booking a meal for 10 when on your holidays can be a little hard to do especially with 1 small child, but we found the staff at Lakes Bistro so very helpful in accomadating. The menu gave a good choice for starters and main courses but very little choice for desert, so slightly miffed we settled for two courses. Nice choices for starters and everyone was happy, same with the main meals altho we did have a bit of a wait between courses. We had a few choose Steak as the main meal and we found they seemed to have mixed them up a bit rare and medium. As i said a poor selection of sweets left us feeling a bit disheartened. So the two courses we had were enjoyed by most even with the steak.

As a timeshare resort restaurant, this is good. Fairly extensive menu. Good, friendly service. Decent portions at reasonable prices. Just lacks atmosphere.

Family of four went for the pizza pasta night. Plenty of choice and Pizzas cooked in front of you. Great tasty food and very filling. Lovely staff and good service.The following night we ate in the bar. Again we all had a good meal which we enjoyed.The burgers were the best!!!

Much improved on our last visit a year or so ago. The food was excellent and all the mains were well received. Enough food on the plate for the hungriest of guests and very well presented. Had lunch in the bar a couple of days later and the food again was to an excellent standard.

We ate here twice, choosing local dishes and were not disappointed. The food and service were both very good, with a nice variety on the menu and reasonable prices. We ate here on Friday night, and the restaurant and bar were full but we did not have a long wait for a table. Customers were couples, families, and friends night out.

The room is nicely set out with a lounge area where casual meals can be taken. The menu is varied and our selection was well presented including generous sandwiches and a first class sharing platter.

Ate here a few nights whilst away.Service was speedy for mains but quite slow for desserts. Food was very good and menu was decent. Children's menu is a little limited and maybe adding a couple more meals to the children's menu is a valid suggestion; curry and rice and fajitas......maybe these could be offered as a child portion? Just a thought!Would recommend dining here if you are staying either at pine lake or locally.

We have dined here on many occasions for various meals breakfast, lunch and dinner never been disappointed with the food, frequently had the sharing platter while sitting outside beside the lake on a nice sunny day.

Enjoyed a couple of evening meals in this large, high-ceilinged room.Very welcoming, friendly and effcient service from young, professional staff.Meals well-cooked, presented and hot. More than sufficient portions although my wife did request a smaller portion of the excellent fish and chips which was duly served - and the price adjusted! Steaks did seem to be priced higher than we'd have ecpected from the pricing of other meals - although that's not to say that the otgher meals were much cheaper than we'd expect!Drinks also were priced a little higher but perhaps this is an inevitable part of the business plan that must respond to the fact that diners may well have pre- and post dinner drinks in their pine lodges!That said, we did enjoy our two visits

We are staying at the resort and decided to try the bistro. Tuesday's pizza night very much recommended and a good price. The lunches are pleasant and reasonably priced also. Good atmosphere with no pressure. Recommend a visit.

I live locally to Pine Lake Resort and I've been to the restaurant many times over the past few years.I thought it was about time I left another review as it has been a few years since I last left one.The pizza and pasta buffet night on a Tuesday is my favourite. The food is always extremely fresh and the staff work hard to make sure that it is kept fully stocked and never allow anything to run out.All the food is home made and the food is absolutely delicious.There is a good selection of pizza, garlic bread, chips and pasta dishes, as well as salad (cucumber, tomatoes, carrott, leaves, coleslaw, potato salad).I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others and will continue to visit with my friends and family on a regular basis.

Three of us stayed at the resort and booked in the restaurant for sat night. Soup was really thick and one meal had to go back twice as the steak was bloody and asked for medium to well, and another meal of lasagne had to go back was was cold in the middle have to say though the staff dealt with it pretty well and gave friend another meal free of charge. The staff did also lol a little run off their feet so perhaps a few more rota on on busy nights but a lot of choice of food and all in all wouldn't stop us from going back there

Had a lovely evening meal, the menu was very extensive and everyone enjoyed what they had. Had a lovely light lunch which was freshly made and excellent value.

Now becoming a regular at this event and the food and format still impress.The pre dinner canapes this year surpassed previous years and had to discipline myself not to eat too many. Copious amounts of food was available at the buffet although portion sizes of the served starters were minimal. Service from the staff was excellent.The only minor criticism was the lack of choice of bottled/canned mixers as the on tap option was pretty poor.

We werejust there for a coupleofnights and having had a good breakfast we decided to have our evening meal there as well. Often the problem with eating on site at resortslike this is that they take advantage byovercharging you. We didnt feel this was the case at all. Breakfast was good portions and £12 for the 2 of us and a 3 course evening meal incuding a bottle of wine but a shared dessert was just over £40. The staff were friendly and it was only letd own by the quite austere dining room with very basic Christmas Decorations up and no "warmth" to the room at all.

I organised a corporate Christmas party here. The venue are extremely helpful and made the whole process easy. The food and service was spot on despite it being a large number of people. All of the staff at the venue are super polite and helpful!

There were six of us in a party staying at the Pinelake Resort. Eating here was convenient. We had dinner twice during our week long stay and both times the food was good but nothing special. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were as expected for a resort but definitely not excessive. All in all a good experience.

We have been on a couple of occassions to Pine Lake resort and when we stay we always head to the restaurant and order a pizza. We did this on our recent trip where three of us had a pizza and one of us a pulled pork burger. The food was tasty and really nice, but wasn't as hot as we'd have liked it to be. That's the only negative I have in my experience though, it was a damn good pizza.

It was food and it filled a gap, but I couldn't get excited about this place. The beer is keg and uninspiring, considering there are some great brewers up this way. The staff seemed pretty young and lacked training. So room for improvement here.

Restaurant staff are very helpful and friendly, the lighting is a bit bright but the ambience is the only downside of this restaurant as the food is so nice. My son had a pizza, my husband had the steak pie and I had the lamb hotpot and I would recommend them all; they do not scrimp on the ingredients. The menu has lots to choose from so there is something for everyone.

Went in here as stop gap of at start of our holiday.
