Was this place quirky-Yes In a good location - Yes Did it have outside seating- Yes Drinks good- Yes Is it Child Friendly- No Now don’t get me wrong, this place is great. Sells local Ales-love. The guy behind the bar was friendly. However where this place went wrong. I’ll explain… As a group of 10 Adults & 8 Children, we were out for a walk exploring the local area to our campsite. We’d walked for an hour, so we were all pleased and excited to see a pub with outside seating where we could sit and enjoy a drink. However the wasps! Now no one is blaming the pub, for this, it is what it is however what was not acceptable was when our children got over excited and let’s be honest flappy about the wasps. A couple of them jumped up on the benches/walls. Now I’m not about to justify this, we calmed them down a couple of times so we aren’t saying it was acceptable to stand on the seats, it wasn’t. But what was not acceptable was when the lady working inside came out and quite aggressively shouted at our children, scared the living crap out of them and then very loudly told anyone that would listen that our children (and I quote) were ‘savages’. Here is some friendly advice on dealing with children in the 21st century- come talk to the parents, even shout at us if you like. But what is never acceptable is to shout at other peoples children. I’d have preferred you to have kicked us out, but let’s be honest, they weren’t exactly trashing the place. I consider myself to be a pretty strict parent but they were just being kids, playing games and living a life outside of devices. It was actually nice to see. Your reaction was wholly unacceptable and I’m hoping was you on a bad day rather than a true reflection of you and your business. I have based the 3 stars I have given you to take all aspects on board but my overall recommendation would be, this pub is not child friendly.

Called in for a quick drink and enjoyed a very nice glass of cider. I love the old fireplace in the bar area and the place was both cosy and welcoming. Had a good choice of beer

Limited menu (of which only Pizza was available when asked). It's more a small bar than an eatery. The menu has a wi-fi password that is out of date printed on it*. Not very friendly and tbh felt like they knew there wasn't much competition around for walkers returning from the nearby trail and cave. *Review added to Google elicited a response from the owner that the password is correct but it wasn't working when we visited and if a suggested there is an In-House and Guest separate Wi-Fi then make it clearer in the WI-Fi name etc.

This pub/cafe is located right next to the National Car Park in Clapham. Having completed the walk up to Ingleborough summit - through the Trow Gill gorge, and returning via the nature trail, we were in need of some refreshment, and weren't disappointed. We had some lovely refreshing beer from a good selection, and a great sandwich. We sat outside, in the sunshine on this occasion, but I can imagine this place being even more satisfying if inside after a cold (and perhaps damp) hike. Would definitely recommend.

I have used this cafe for many years, it has recently changed hands and whilst it still offers good value for money, and a welcome pit stop after a day on Ingleborough, some of the changes they have made aren't, in my opinion, the right ones. Tea is served as a mug of hot water, with separate tea bag, milk and sugar! So no chance of a refill from a teapot ( pref with extra hot water). Thus the 'average' rating. The selection of cakes is reduced from previous times. But the hot choc with Baileys at Christmas time was lush. A passing pizza being served at another table looked very appetising. They have a captive market, as not everyone wants to go to a pub and the other cafe in the village is very hit and miss, so improve the cakes and get some teapots please.

A delightful visit this afternoon following a brisk walk. We had pizza and a ciabatta roll and they were delicious. Very tasty. Y husband at a beer and I had a refreshing cider served by a very polite young man. Interior is tastefully decorated and i love the tables made from Singer sewing machine treadles. It is worth a visit to look at the huge fire place, it really is a sight to be seen. We will definitely be returning. Tasty food, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff and owners. Thank you. Popped in yesterday for a drink and snack. Great drinks cardy beer and cider on draft and pizza for under£16- considering a tourist trap they aren't charging crazy prices. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and looking forward to going back to see the fire on. Watch your head on the loo door !!!!!

Went to get lunch after a walk up Ingleborough. The pizza was excellent even better for my there was a gluten free option. The beer was also very good, not often you find GF beer on draught. Just had to have one. The staff were really friendly- i think i will have to walk the area again just to eat here.

Lovely staff and a warm welcome. Very accommodating of intolerances and a varied selection on offer if you are gluten free which is rare to see in cafes! Worth a pop in.
