We stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and the place was full! But we didn't mind waiting, and it didn't take long before a table was available for us. We ordered a cuppa with a scone filled with cream and jam. It was perfect. There is a cabinet filled with home made sweets should one want to pick something up to eat elsewhere. And, there was a full menu, as most people were ordering soup along with a dinner option. Plenty to choose from, but also perfect for a sweet treat!

Made an unplanned visit to Laidhay on our way back from Wick, and I’m so glad we did! Lovely cakes and a delicious s’mores waffle filled us up, but what made the visit special was the service. Our wee boy was a bit unsettled and fussing, and the lovely lady serving us offered to take him to let me drink my coffee. She took him a wee wander to see the kitchen (always in our sight), which gave us a chance to throw back some coffee and cake - much appreciated for parents of a young baby! Exceptional service, will definitely be back.

Was driving past and thought lunchtime, time for a spot of lunch. Very quiet and very clean and friendly. All food and cakes home cooked. Both of us decided on the Cullen Skink with a baked bread roll, it was absolutely fabulous, very tasty and very filling. All home made both myself and my wife enjoyed it. The whole menu sounded delicious. Once eaten I then had a fruit scone with butter and two types of jam. My wife had a piece Bakewell tart both home made, scone was the best I’ve tasted my wife said the bakewell tart was very nice. A nice pot of tea to finish. Can definitely recommend this tea room the two ladies were very attentive and extremely friendly. Not expensive. Also supports a local business and there’s a crafters museum attached. Well worth a drop in.

We were stopping for morning coffee and left very glad we picked this cafe. The variety of nice home baking made choosing difficult. The scone was in my mind a perfect scone, the custard cream was so light and the bakewell tart was the best ever eaten. High praise. Service was friendly and cafe felt safe and covid friendly. Only negative for 2 of us was coffee wasn't fresh ground but in saying that they still said it was good. Bonus was being told where the puffins were in the cliffs behind and they had already arrived to mate.
