Good breakfast, clean rooms, nice service. The bathroom is typically a bit small, but everything worked and was intact.

Only went for a meal, but is a lovely place to eat, my only comment is the pudding was to big but absolutely delicious! I was sad I couldn't eat it all 😔🙂 lovely people great service great place!

The Laichmoray seems always to be busy at weekends, a good sign of course, so it’s prudent to book. An extensive menu awaits, including vegetarian and gluten-free. Servers tend to be young and are most helpful, attentive and efficient. Food is excellent. Pleasant surroundings although the conservatory can be hot and stuffy in the summer. Meals can also be served in the lounge bar. Our latest dining experience was a late lunch for two persons. My favourite is the Cajun Chicken sizzler and my friend opted for the Teriyaki sizzler. A challenging eat but delicious. A variety of beers, wines and spirits is also available.

The service and food is first class. My go to restaurant when celebrating with friends and family.

Rooms dated and small no air circulation

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. The room wasn't huge but clean and comfortable. The bathroom seemed a bit dated but clean and functional. Very good food in the restaurant. And the bar is stocked with a huge selection of whiskeys. Would stay there again at any time.

Just to be clear we didn't stay at the hotel we just went to eat in the restaurant I hear the rooms are lovely. My advice would be, don't play it safe when ordering. We went for a meal and had lovely service very nice staff and they did check our meals during but it wasn't the wow we were expecting from dining in having heard great things. My son had the Salmon that was excellent and I highly recommend the loaded fries if you are feeling a bit extra, but the Roast Chicken and Carbonara were a disappointment. This isn't to say they were horrible, if I was asked to friends house and they served these meals I would be quite content, but from a restaurant asking for near £20 a dish, it did feel like a let down. The roast chicken was a fillet cooked plain, served with a Bisto like gravy and accompanying veg. No seasoning, no herbs or other extras, just chicken and gravy as stated and the veg plainly roasted, cant argue with the description I guess. The carbonara had some lovely fresh made pasta but made promises of an authentic dish which again was more suited to Colemans finest cheese sauce mixes, a very heavily creamed soup consistency sauce with little flavour, no sign of any parmesan or seasoning. The dishes we witness passing by us, made us long for having chosen more exciting options , Teriyaki, Korean etc but I do feel that such basic dishes should be held to the same high standards of the other items on the menu that we witnessed being served. We may return at some point to try other items but the time being will be sampling other restaurants in the area.

This is not a Review for staying but more of a work trial, with job after. I also left one on indeed. From the hiring to the staff! Absolutely amazing! Tuck into consideration of my disability while I did the trial. Housekeeping team really funny and great to be around, highly recommend, comfortable feeling around everyone and the area itself. Sadly due to start on the Tuesday I tuck awful turn due to anxiety and renal issues. (Would definitely recommend working there, I would go back in a heart beat) Sorry the reviews not for staying but the housekeeping team make sure everything is clean as can be from rooms to toilets and waiting areas. Had another lovely meal here tonight, was met with a warm friendly welcome as soon as we entered and shown to our table, great vegan selection and gluten free options. Food and service was fantastic & we will definitely be returning.

Had a family birthday lunch here today.absolutely amazing. Nice friendly welcome from Norma.the dining room staff and bar staff were all super efficient. The quality of the food unbelievable,well served,piping hot. The dining room and facilities were immaculate. I sure had an eightieth birthday to remember, thanks to the entire team. Nice setting and staff friendly & attentive but the food is average at best. The chicken was overcooked in the Cajun chicken & the batter on the Korean crispy chicken was not properly cooked

We had another lovely meal in the Laichmoray. As usual, we opted to dine in the garden room which is a lovely dining area. Service quick and friendly. A good range of dining options (The Cajun Chicken was delicious). Prices on par with other Elgin Eateries. Recommended

Plenty of parking, greeted at reception and our bags were whisked away, up to the room, lovely. Evening meal, Crikey! I can't eat all that. I was right I couldn't, same with my preordered breakfast, did just manage it though. Same again for a week, with excellent staff in a very pleasant, quiet hotel that was better than it looked on the booking site. Highly recommended by me in all aspects.

I arrived later in the evening. Was greeted in a friendly manner. I had booked a single room but was given a small double. Perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Was able to book my breakfast to ensure no delay in the morning. Breakfast was delicious. Although it was only one night I hope to be back in the area and will certainly stay here again.

I was part of a large group and the staff had set aside a dedicated area for our table. The food was served promptly and was of a very high standard. The Korean Chicken was the standout for me. Very generous portions too meaning I struggled to finish mine: a good problem to have! It's an extremely busy place but she staff were first rate and super attentive. Particular praise must go to the young staff members attending to the beer garden patrons. They just never stopped and kept us all well refreshed.

Staff excellent and my Gluten Free dietary requirements were no issue at either breakfast or dinner

Fantastic stay as usual! We have stayed here a few times we love it. Staff are lovely, food is excellent and the cocktails are absolutely delicious.

You always get a good meal at the Laich. The Teriyaki Chicken and sticky toffee pudding are lovely! Cocktails are also pretty good 😜 I can't comment on the rooms as I've never stayed here.

The Laichmoray is one of my favourite restaurants in Elgin. I usually opt for the Garden Room dining room, which is attractive visually and always has a nice atmosphere. As always, the menu is wide-ranging, and prices are reasonable. The one thing that has always struck me is how good the service is, and I am delighted to say nothing has changed in this respect I had a very enjoyable meal and recommend a visit to the Laichmoray

Excellent service overall. Made to feel welcome as soon as you enter the building… all the staff are friendly and professional. The food in the hotel is excellent.

Attended a birthday dinner. Hotel is tastefully decorated, cosy and inviting. Service was impeccable - friendly and welcoming. Great selection of delicious, freshly-prepared food, including a good vegan selection. Hard to see how anything could be improved I first stayed here in 1975 and it has always been of a very high standard.

Isited this restaurant today. A nice friendly welcome and the staff were superb. The choice of food is excellent as was the quality,Fajitas were first class,and the prawn platter was excellent. The service was first class and very friendly. Well worth a visit if in Elgin,situated beside the railway station.

Came with my grandparents and we really enjoyed the meal. The food was incredible, we didn't even wait that long for it. 10 minutes max. The young blonde female who served us was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Would happily visit again.

We booked a table in the garden room and arrived slightly early. The table was ready and we were shown to it straight away Drinks order taken, all arrived as requested and shortly after the waitress returned to take our order. The food arrived in great time, all piping hot. Everything was delicious, I can highly recommend the smoked haddock risotto. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The garden room was lovely and very comfortable. We will be back!

Would certainly go back. In general the food was fantastic and service excellent. A couple of wee slip-ups were dealt with promptly. Desert order was messed up and I'm sure there was not a single piece of Scottish cheese on the "Scottish" cheeseboard (served with not a Scottish oatcake in sight) but a minor glitch. On request toilets were cleaned!

Visited this restaurant on Sunday with my family. A lovely friendly welcome from reception staff and the restaurant staff were the same. The choice of food was amazing, with a fabulous Sunday special of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. There is a great choice on the menu, something for everyone’s tastes. The staff in the dining room were very friendly and super efficient. The quality of the food was outstanding and it was all served piping hot.brilliant. Don’t hesitate to book a table ,well worth it.well done.h

Visited this restaurant today with family, a very friendly welcome from the staff, sthe standard of service was 5 star and there attention to detail was brilliant. The food was excellent, fajitas were amazing, the bu4ger unbelievable, keep up the good work. Do not hesitate to visit.

We, again, had a lovely meal here last night, we have never been disappointed with the staff, dining room or food at the laichmoray hotel.

Was met with warm friendly smile and showed to our table, service was fantastic and food was outstanding. They have a full Vegan menu and to be honest the best one I’ve seen in a while. Starters, mains & desert were all first class, first time back here in years & it’s significantly better than it was last time which was also good. Will definitely be returning & would highly recommend.

Came for Christmas lunch yesterday. Food was tasty with generous portions. Turkey main course was nice and hot too. £35 for 3 courses so good value, service from all staff was friendly and efficient without being rushed. Only recommendation is to turn the heating down - it was a bit too warm in the dining room and bar area.

I stayed here 40 years ago and had a fantastic stay. This time was even better the food was so good we ate in the restaurant every night and didn't leave the hotel for dinner

We stumbled on this restaurant while looking for somewhere for lunch and after visiting a couple of other places in the area that had either closed down or were overflowing with people. It's a difficult time for hospitality but this restaurant had a menu with a wide variety of choices to suit most tastes. Food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, good sized portions and very tasty. While all dishes were familiar ones, they were all done very well. Of particular note were the outstanding home made desserts - a huge but light sticky toffee pudding, and a fabulously light and fluffy pear and ginger steamed pudding with custard. In addition, the staff were super friendly and accommodating and didn't rush us at all, even though we didn't arrive until just before 2 pm. Highly recommended, I'm sure we will go back when next in the area.

Fish & chips, meat and two veg etc. Not inspiring or exceptional in any way. If that's what you want, fine. Quality average, prices above average.

The Garden Room is a lovely airy restaurant with a nice decor. Service was quick and very friendly. There is a comprehensive menu with prices on par with other similar restaurants in Elgin. Most importantly our meals were delicious. It is well worth a visit...

I’ve visited here lots of time since I was a child (now in my 30s) and it never disappoints. The staff are so helpful and organised and the menu is lovely. Portions are a good size and there’s lots to choose from. Can’t wait for...

Was directed to dining room around 5.30pm on sunday, not a very appealing room, too brightly lit and just lacking atmosphere. Meal was OK, they'd run out of roast beef so don't know if we'd have stayed if had been told this before ordering drinks....

We are all very impressed with the meal that we had at the weekend. Our food came in cartons that allowed us to take home before putting on our own plates & the food was as good as in hotel & still piping hot. Well...

Had an excellent meal again last night. I had cajun chicken my mother had teriyaki chicken. Followed by sorbet. Never disappoints.

Visited on Sunday opted for the roast beef which was fabulous, big portion, great selection of veg. Menu was great with lots of choice. Restaurant was spacious and comfortable and all staff were very friendly. Cocktails were also pretty amazing too. Highly recommend.

There is a new menu since my last visit. The halloumi starter with the herb breadcrumbs and dips is simple but excellent.Special main of loin of pork stuffed with black pudding was superb and the trimmings complemented it so well. The service was also good and very attentive

We booked a table for a Birthday treat, this has to be our favourite place for meals out, as the standard of the food never fails to impress.

Had Sunday lunch in the garden room very nice room only downside the chicken lasagne was a little bland and one of the vegetables with the roast chicken were a little on the hard side. Food was well presented and Staff were pleasant and overall enjoyable.

Stopped of at laichmoray hotel for lunch this Friday, was very business, but staff managed to get us a table. The service and standard of meal was excellent well present and good portion size. Very warm relaxing time with good food and drink, well looked after, first rate venue for a meal out.

I love the bar in this hotel, as it has very comfy chairs, and is very welcoming. Much prefer to eat here than in the restaurant, which has a clinical appearance, and so brightly lit, it completely lacks the atmosphere of the bar.We had fish and chips and they were lovely. Not cheap at £14.50, but were nice. It's a great place to meet friends and I can thoroughly recommend it.

We had our kettlebell club Christmas night out here & oh my god what an amazing night we had. The staff at the Laichmoray were AMAZING nothing was to much trouble. The planning & organisation for their party night was second to none as our whole even ran smoothly & we were well looked after. We will DEFINITELY be back next year. Extremely well priced for 3 course meal with tea/coffee & disco.

Very pleasant surroundings and polite efficient staff. In all adequate though the menu selection wasn’t as varied as I’d have liked. Particularly with local fish dishes. Most were satisfied with the meal though they hadn’t originally seen something that they would have liked.

Had a lovely meal with our friends. 1 had a starter and 3 of us had teriyaki chicken or beef which was fantastic! Served with chips and peas. Large helpings. Our friend had ice cream and we shared a summer fruit pavlova. It was huge! Gorgeous though. Lovely meal very nice staff and we all thought the prices were very good. Would definately recommend a visit.

We are staying here for a few days for work and we are really impressed. The staff are really lovely, accommodating and amenities are excellent. Such great value for money, the food is excellent also just had breakfast and I can say it was one of the best, I have been blessed to have traveled a lot so this is quite the accolade!!Our room (47) is so spacious and a great bathroom with everything you need and more. We will definitely be back ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a lovely high tea with all the bells and whistles. A family affair with 11 of us. Great selection on menu, super service with friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of malt whiskies to finish off the event. No problem with parking, I’m not sure how accessible the main floor was to people with disabilities as you had a flight of stairs to negotiate but I didn’t investigate to see if there was a lift.

Had a meal here on Friday 19th July. Excellent service and the food was first class also. Have dined here before and never had a bad meal, nothing fancy just good hearty food. My wife and two daughters indulged in several cocktails also, as I was on driving duties, they said that they were very good.

I should say I have a soft spot for this hotel, I have stayed a few times and it’s always my go to eatery when I’m Elgin.

A couple on a two night visit. Well appointed rooms. Efficient over the bath shower. Good quality bathroom fittings. Restaurant menu fairly extensive and reasonably priced,.One minor caveat: stairs to be negotiated may be difficult for those with mobility issues.

Mmmm what can I say but nice room very clean, but attentiveness not great we had to keep going out to bar to get more drinks which is not great really when they would get more business if they were attentive.

Nice conservatory and really nice waiting staff. They couldn't be more helpful. The food has improved but not a great deal. There were five of us and each had something different. Consensus was that it was goo but not great. Very bland taste for most of it. The wine we chose was a Sauvignon blanc but it was very harsh, too acidic and very cold. All in all a reasonable meal in nice surroundings but could do a lot more. Sorry I was expecting a vast improvement with the new team.

We visited the Laich for the first time in a few years and really enjoyed the experience. This has always been a well run hotel and being privately owned it's obvious that the owners (of many years) are regularly investing to keep the Hotel at a high standard. The conservatory restaurant is looking more contemporary than I remember and is a very comfortable and pleasant dining area. The service was good and the food was truly excellent. The menu is not big but really there is ample choice and the food was served piping hot which is an important thing for me. Overall, a lovely lunch experience and we will definately return before too long.

My husband and I popped out for coffee and cake. However, the smells of the food were so tempting that we had lunch. We were served by two young people, very friendly and polite, lovely smiles and well turned out.... quite rare these days for youngsters. They popped by regularly to see if everything was ok. We had a great lunch and finished it all. The only drawback for me is the coffee..... apart from that it has a lovely ambience and extremely clean. And tidy.

This restaurant is amazing, food is fantastic, with plenty of choice. portions are very generous and price is very good.

Nice warm friendly welcome as soon as we arrived, we were shown to our table in the garden room. Drinks and food were all perfect, we had the Fish & Scampi....both beautiful.

Without fail, the Laichmoray always delivers!! First choice in Elgin for pretty much everything. Superb Mother’s Day lunch, night out with family or friends or just some drinks the Laich covers it all. The staff are always first class!

Booked a high tea after being recommended by my sister. I’m glad she did. The high tea was fantastic. The bill came to approx £51 for the two of us as we had a really nice bottle of red wine with our high tea. There are a lot of different main courses to choose from. Toast, cakes and scones. Everything was very tasty. The service was great, nice friendly waitress. Well worth the visit, definitely going back for more.

Came her for my birthday and it was incredible, had the sizzling chicken and it did not let down. The cocktails too made it even better.

Went in and greeted with friendly staff and overall service was good. However, food was obviously pre-prepared and kept warm as mash had that glaze. Deserts again pre-done. Little choice in Elgin and prices were high for quality.

I didn't know this place existed really until last October when I went there with my daughter for a meal. A lovely dining area, the food was smashing and the price not too scary at all! Would recommend.

Visited here with my friend for lunch and cocktails. My lasagne was dry and quite a small portion however, the cocktails were very nice. On this occasion, the food was average but always a decent atmosphere.

The first evening we arrived in Elgin we decided to dine at the hotel and we are glad we did. The restaurant prices are quite reasonable, food was fresh, well presented and tasty. The staff were attentive without being obtrusive. We had 4 nights at the hotel and dined here for two of them.

Visited here recently with my boyfriend and our friends. My friend and I ordered the teriyaki chicken. When it arrived, we noticed only 3 pieces of chicken and it was very small, turned out that they served us a half portion but this was quickly rectified. Desserts were good. I ordered a glass of water with the meal, however waited some time on this and when it eventually arrived, I sent it back as there was lipstick on the glass. We ordered several cocktails all of which were lovely. Some slightly pricey but well presented. Nice place for good food and drinks but it's the tiny things that prevented the 5 out of 5 rating this time. Will be back at some point in the future.

This truly is a treat for great food. The ambiance is so good. The staff are so attentive, presentable and pleasant. The food is freshly cooked and there is a good variety of dishes to choose from. My favourite is their selection of fresh salads but this is not like any other salad, wonderful. I would easily recommend this restaurant as a must to visit in Elgin and it is not expensive.
