Lahori Kebabish Restaurant in Burnley

Food was ok - but was made inedible due to the gross hygiene practices at the restaurant. Some points to note (1) on entering the restaurant we went to look at the selection, to find the 'chef' sneezing all over the open server of food, without even putting his arm/tissue to his face (2) the customers were using their hand (yes it true) to handle the food (the nan breads in particular - they were 'rummaging' in the bread dropped on the floor and then picked it up and put in back in for other customers). (3) Don't eat the ice cream, I saw customers with their own spoons tatting the ice cream and then using the same spoon to serve themselves. No chef or waiter wore gloves and simple handled the food with fingers. The food: The korma was OK, the papadoms cold, the tandoori cold, the tikka cold, the chutneys were foul. The place is dirty (the waiter simply dry wiped the table after serve, and the glasses smelt of .... well it was unexplainable but they were dirty. A small bottle of asda water was £1.99 - unbelievable. I am sorry to say these things but we will NEVER go here again, we gave it a second chance after a two year break, and bad experience first time, but can only say its worse What id its Food Hygiene rating ? It appears they don't have one !!!!

Food was really good, would definitely recommend! Huge platter fed a family of 10! When this place was a buffet wasn't too keen but now it's completely changed!

Came here for a meal. food was okay but the guy who serves the food made my fiancée feel very uncomfortable ( the man at the front ) the same man who serves you, from as soon as we walked in, constantly looking at her and just stood their at the end of our table, looking rite down her top from when we walked in and then when serving , he kept coming over to our table and just standing their. I laughed it off at first but my partner really wanted to leave the place because of him, he came over and asked to go on out phone to leave a review be for we even ate, I said ill leave The review but he took phone from my partners hands and went on her photos, I noticed this and took the phone off him rite away and said I have photos of my woman on their I don't want anyone to see and he smurked so the phone got took rite back off him , he's lucky he didn't get a smack in he's face. 100 percent wont be going here again just because of he's pervited ways. then says what do i do for a job. that's none of he's concern he just seemed to want to stay at the table and she was the reason why. i went to the shop for beers and they said are you coming back please come back. very unusual behaviour. the boss needs to fire this man its possibly he's family member. plus we had to make room on our own table, when the food arrived we had a few bites and left to eat else where because of this man, don't go here with your woman because i promise you she will feel so uncomeatable. if anyone else has had this experiance post it. my fiancee doesnt drink but did that day for this reason! ps i hope you read this your a man of discust who shouldnt be in that type of business

After reading a few reviews on trip advisor, I was unsure as to if we should go to this place. However after visiting it, it was absolutely amazing! Food was nice, warm and fresh! Social distancing was being followed. Staff were extremely nice and friendly. Amazing experience. Would go again!

The outlook and interior of the building is horrified. All starter food trays were pretty much empty, kids wanted chips but there were none. No fish, no chicken. We were asked to eat whatever is available and the other dishes will be available soon. We asked waiter atleast 3 times for the drinks to be finally able to get them. These couldn't be called Cold Drinks as they were not cold at all. When we asked for Naan, we were been given burnt/overcooked Naan which I won't even look at. We asked for fresh Naan and been told the Naan Flour is finished and that was about 6:30PM when the restaurant was just opened so clearly they were lying. The food was horrible, cold and not fresh at all and none of the main starter was good enough to eat. THE WORST OF ALL, No Spoons to eat rice and ice cream. We were been told that these need washing so we need to wait. The staff were rude to hell with no education and no manners how to speak to customers. When we complained everything to the manager that we are paying customers and this is not we were expecting, he told us what we can't believe. He said that we are paying half due to Eat Out to Help Out scheme so we can expect these things. Disgraceful. The restaurants still get the full money as Government pays the half so little bit of mismanagement is acceptable/understandable due to being busier but what we got/experienced is absolutely horrible. I won't go to this place again even if I am offered to eat free. AVOID GOING THIS PLACE!

This restaurant is a joke!! Theres only one chap at the front. This place is meant to be a buffet restaurant but hardly have anything? Please save your time and money and go elsewhere

The place looks like an old social club. The decor is questionable. The korma and the tikka masala tasted exactly the same and we came to realise that they had put red food colouring in the tikka masala to make them look different. The kheer was made from the Laziza packs. The lamb karani was the only decent item on the menu. We got our main curries and were told by the chef that there are no chapatis/naans made so take our curries to the table and he would bring them over. 15 mins of waiting and had to go check our selves and by that time, our curries were cold! We felt bad to waste the curries so had to eat them cold. When we went back to our table, we could hear another customer screaming at the chef that she had been waiting 20 mins for her chapati. The only good thing I’d say about the restaurant is that the waiter and waitress were amazing and made us feel so welcome. The waitress was running around like a headless chicken due to the 50% off scheme. She was the only one serving and was very over worked. She still took the time out and came and had a chat with us and made sure we we were happy. Never again coming here again!

Well I can't see why people are slating this place!? One moaning about just a few pieces of lamb in one dish!!! It is made fresh and is cooked as required. The food is hot. Great choice of starter, kabab, chicken, potato things, fresh salad, chips, batterd fish bites, and other things. Main, 2 rice dishes, chicken Madras, chicken tikka, lamb whatever it's called. And different things. Desert, ice cream, jelly, and a couple of Asian dishes. I highly recommend it. I've been twice and look forward to going again. Friendly staff. £8.99 for all you can eat!!!! Believe me, I left very full and very satisfied, with the price and the quality. X X

Amazing curry. The chicken curry was amazing never had such a good curry from anywhere local like that. Really enjoyed it !!

Myself and partner came here on valentines evening for the first time. I were a little sceptical after reading previous reviews, I like to decide myself. We had reserved a table so we didn't have to wait The food was awesome from starters to main it was nice to be able to try various dishes In small amounts, We had no complaints what so ever about the food service or environment. We will definitely be returning in the near future. great value for the money paid

6 of us went there last week.we go for buffet it was £8.99 n offering 20 different dishes including lamb Karhai chicken karhai n biryani with desert kheer gajar halwa ice cream custard.Really enjoyed the fish in starters.It's really worth your every single penny.Highly recommend.

Cold food, cold service, cold environment.You tell them theres hardly any food available or that the food is cold and nothing gets done. Plus side is the drinks are cold and fizzy and tgat you never have to wait for a table as they're always quiet.Cheeky enough to tell you when paying to leave a good review on here and facebook!

If your dining experience is just about food,you will not be disappointed. For a buffet, all you can eat menu, I was impressed with the quality and variety of starters and curry dishes presented, it was value for money. The dessert wasn't really worth bothering with.The atmosphere was rather like dining in a canteen, nothing fancy. As we were a large group of friends it didn't matter but it's not really a restaurant that offers a relaxing dining experience.

We celebrated my husbands birthday the staff were amazing the food was authentic if you want to have an English curry this is not for you but if you want authentic Pakistani food it’s amazing x I would give this place five stars x

This is well worth a visit! Staff are very attentive & the food was full of flavour & tasty, better than most Indian restaurants locally! Highly recommend

Where do is start with the restaurant... Firstly the food was limited we had to wait 10/15 minutes for rice to be cooked, ban bread to be cooked, the salad was stale and not fresh, the chicken jalfrezi looked old and all mashed, the jelly was not set at all. Secondly the service, the drinks came after 10 minutes of us being there. The mango lassi was so watery and no hint of mango in it. They had no sprite, 7up or diet coke. Thirdly the bill, the staff was so argumentative about the age of our children. I have given birth to my children and know how old they are, they may appear older physically however the staff member became defensive and said they do not look their age. I found this very saddening that for couple of pounds the male staff member wanted to argue with me in front of my young children who he could see was getting clearly distressed. I offered him to pay full however he had the decency to say that you have done this before. Accusing me of being untruthful about my children’s age and visiting the restaurant before. Then he had the nerves to ask my children in front of me ‘you have visited here before’ which my children stated no its our first time. This is how unprofessional the staff and illmannerd they are as they asked my children when me as a parent confirmed that i have not visited the restaurant before... I am still upset, angry and hurt by the staff members allegations of being untruthful. I will never visit this restaurant, please stay away from this place.

they were 10 of us who when and the food was exceptional and the price is super super cool for the quality of food and dishes that are available, very impressed! well recommended 9/10

I have been here and the food was just amazing. Yeah it's true they dishes have little food but they make more fresh food for you. The people giving bad reviews here are deluded and wrong. This place is just too good.

Alot of the dessert dishes were missing. Food was warm not hot. Food was tasty but not enough. I won't be going back to be honest. My kids did not enjoy it at all

Just had a chicken madras and a rogan josh...had to put them in microwave.. no taste just swimming in grease seriously worst curry we have ever had..back to premier we go. Honestly it was awful..

This has got to be one of the worst buffets ive ever been to. The only good thing about this place is the deco. So much dissapointment with the food... poorly made with little to choose from when you open the lids maybe like 5 or 6 pieces of chicken and other starter selections also not hot enough. The mains were awful some sweet eg the tikka masala like as though they ran out of salt and used sugar instead? If you're considering trying this out you are better off getting a take out elsewhere tbh! The poppadoms were the only decent thing... SHAME!

Good selection of food but sadly some of it was just about warm. Waking up at 4:30 the following morning with terrible stomach ache not good. Staff were not wearing catering clothes couple of blokes in coats and scarfs were sorting buffet out at one point. Needs to improve.

Friendly and welcoming service. Food was more than tasty - beautiful spices and very authentic. We will definitely be back! Even my 7 year old Arsenal supporter loved the biryani and chicken korma!! After a cold and wet day at Turf Moor, the hot radiators and fabulous curries warmed the 4 of us before our drive back to York!

Enjoyed the buffet at Lahori,it makes a change from the usual buffets you get..plenty of choices,starters,mains and dessert!(on the buffet). Their is also a full menu if you don't fancy over-indulging!!Staff very friendly and helpful..and you can even take your own alcohol in,result.Give it a whirl.

Disgusting food.Everything is so spicy your mouth burns, even the rice and vegetables are spicy. If you have the shush kebab you will be climbing the wall, guaranteed. Me and my friend will never come back such a shame I love Indian food, but I have never had such spicy food before, this is why no Indians or Pakistanis were eating today, it's too spicy for them also. A family's kids were moaning also both their kids threw there food on the floor. Once people have tried this place they will not come back and it will eventually close down. Oh and it said on Facebook £8.99 all you can eat. It they charged £10.99, plus I asked for a jug of water and the got me a bottle of water instead saying they don't do tap water! Yeah right, just an excuse to charge more.

Arrived about 5:15pm with wife and son and it was very quiet. Lovely decor inside.Good selection of starters and mains, although some items didn't come out until later (Onion Bhajis about 10 mins later, poppadoms around 6, vegetable rice just after 6).No rice or other than Biryani although they did cook some white rice for my wife (but had to wait 30mins or so, by which time my son and I had finished) and then a vegetable rice was put out as we all finished.Good selection of curries, the Lamb Karachi was definitely the best and naan breads were tasty and moist. Only one I didn't like (and I tried all except for the Korma and a chickpea curry) was the Chicken Saag but that's purely down to not being a fan of spinach.Just over £33 for 3 buffets, 3 cokes and a ginger ale so definitely good value.Overall very happy with the food and excellent service but they definitely need to have all the dishes ready when they open.Had the rice been out before we finshed and the staters a bit warmer it would have been 5 stars. They could also do with putting whether the curries are mild, medium or hot on the labels for those that can't eat spicy food.
