Top food, reasonable price, friendly people who make you feel welcome. Would recommend the salt and pepper starter for 2

I have eaten at a fair few places in my life and this buffet has to be the worst by a country mile. We were only there as my autistic son wanted a Chinese buffet. It didnt bode well that our feet stuck to the carpet on entering. I should have ran away . We had to pay up front £60 for the 3 of us. We got lemonade and fanta . The lemonade and Fanta were £3.30 each and the lemonade was flat and didnt even taste of lemonade. The fanta just looked like fizzy water with a tiny bit of orange coloring in it It said that if you have a banquet you get free Peking duck and pancakes. These were rank and fatty. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was disgusting The only thing we liked was the spring rolls, plain boiled rice and the chips but not enough to stop the hell erupting in my stomach. In the end we had to leave immediately. The owner said something about see you later and i was thinking no we wont . Apparently there is meant to be a charge if you order food on the banquet and dont eat it. We had visions of them trying to charge us and we were prepared for an argument . Couple of hours later i am laid up on the couch with a hot water bottle due to the extremly painful stomach ache and sore throat from being sick twice. This hell in my stomach started pretty much whilst we were there and immediately on leaving ending up stopping and nearly being sick. As soon as got home, i was sick and still the stomach hell continues. For a living i am a law student and i think that something needs to be done about this buffet as they have a duty of care to customers to ensure that they are not ill. Donahue and Stevenson asserts that if a company or manufacturer provides a service or food to the wider public they have a duty to ensure that all is well with that food. Oriental Buffett fails on that aspect massively. As for me i am now drinking loads of water in the hope that my stomach calms down.

Absolutely disgusting. Do not go!... Me and my partner went this afternoon after debating to get takeaway from here or have the buffet. We went for the buffet. The buffet was extremely dirty and at the time there were no food in any of the trays as they claimed they were doing it all fresh as it needed to be changed. We asked how long? They replied 10mins... There was me and my partner in the entire restaurant to ourselves so they only put out little bits and bobs. The chicken was tough and rubbery and clearly reheated in a microwave. My partner said the beef was reheated also and he is a chef in Bertram's therefore knows when something is reheated or fresh... The windows and mirrors and table cloths looked like they hadn't been cleaned for months on end. I was a little apprehensive after eating the food to try the deserts however I tried little pieces... Much to my suprise😂*sarcasm* the cake was stale,,, the ice-cream was freezer burnt and stale like it had been there for months untouched and only in bowls with no lids etc. The biscuits were also soft and off. Therefore I left it all. I am not recommending this place to anyone unless they would like to claim money and sue for food poisoning.😂 Good luck to the owners because if me and my partner get food poisoning from this I will not only complain to the owner but I will be telling the EHOs too as this is out of order and to have a 5 star hygiene rating on the front door and window is obviously wrong as it is definitely NOT in any circumstances CLEAN.

Literally one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve tasted. Food was piping hot on delivery, salt and pepper box was so tasty and the crispy fried beef was brilliant! Delivery lady was also very friendly! Will definitely order again

Without doubt the most disgusting 'food's I have digested! The chicken & sweet corn soup is just like the concealed stuff you get on cheap corned beef, you could eat it with a fork well, that's if u can bare the overwhelming taste of salt! Advertises eat as much as you like...which should b followed by as long as you don't want more than 2 of anything. The prawn toast was just fried bread with sesame seeds on, the sweet n sour chicken wad deep fried batter. I spat out the stuff they said was beef in black bean sauce because it most definitely was not beefthe salt n pepper chicken things, I mean 'wing's were cold and just vile. My 7yr old daughter had 2 cheap sausages and a few noodles and my husband had a few bits of the duck and a couple of ribs. £45 and we were leaving after 23 minutes! Spoke to the manager (who is so patronising btw) and she refused even half a refund, shoulda realised when we walked in not to eat there looking back now. The place was empty at 8.30pm on a Friday night, you had to pay before you ate, the card machine failed twice and the 'food's is at the back so u can't even see it beforehand. The floor was so sticky it was like a nightclub, the ladies toilet didn't have a lightbulb and the cutlery looked filthy. HANDS DOWN THE RANKEST RESTAURANT IVE EVER BEEN!

Disappointing experience, the ice cream had been left in scoops uncovered in the freezer and was extremely solid, all the accompaniments (biscuits and cake) were stale and the main courses and starters were unseasoned and dry - definitely not worth the money, would not recommend

I've been to lots of buffets, this is pretty standard in comparison with actually not loads of choice to be honest.I've been to worse but also lots more better ones. Staff lovely and friendly... I guess you get what you pay for.. I'd say I got exactly that basic food at a basic price..

This was, hands down, the WORST ‘restaurant’ I have ever visited. I make no exaggeration when I say this. The buffet section was tiny and the trays were either empty, dried up and looked days old, or tasted awful. To give an example of how bad this place is; the boiled rice was empty and there was just 3 dried up potato fritters in the potato fritter tray. This was pretty much standard for every tray.

This was by far the worst food I have tasted, there was around three items left in each dish on the starters menu and was all cold, the mains were the same and we couldn’t even eat them.

This came about by accident, as I was going to Blackpool tonight to watch the fireworks and see the illuminations with Junior. Anyway we set off in glorious sunshine 9 miles down the motorway its bucketing down. Time to turn back, junior is now moaning because she is starving. Onto the phone, nearest buffet is this one, quick re-direct as its 4 miles away, pull up outside, in we go, Oh oh! first is the smell, im thinking "Hmmmm not a good first impression" the carpets and decor are straight out of Enter the Dragon from 1973. and then the spider senses are tingling, then when I sit down and there is only 4 other people, and there is a big card reading "Please Pay Before Entering The Buffet Zone" that should have done the trick. I'm sat down now and I'm thinking of every excuse to make my escape. Ive asked junior does she mind if we make a hasty exit, and she's giving me the sulky look that says "fraid not I'm starving" Oh well Im here now. I go and pay £31.50 for 2 buffets and a Cider, as junior now thinks its trendy to drink tap water, and wont touch anything in a plastic bottle. And off we go. Oh dear oh dear! theres two soup urns ones empty and the other has about 3 ladles worth of what looks like sweetcorn in water. The plate warmer is kaput so its just cold plates, Thats the first thing that always winds me off the clock, and not luke warm but cold. So! to the food. Well the starters were spread around 8-10 different bain maries, and could have been all put in one. there was maybe 4-5 chicken nuggets in one, 3 sausages (Yes sausages) in another, 1-2 prawn toasts in another, I was embarrassed to take anything as the other people were behind me, and would probably have thought I had cleared the lot. So I give that a miss. Onto the mains. again salt and pepper wings, there was 3 and junior took 2 off them, so I spotted some chicken satay on sticks, and tried some Barbecue ribs. BIG MISTAKE! we should have sung Happy Birthday to the chicken satay, because I'm convinced it was their first birthday. Holy moly! Tough! I was going to fetch them home to repair the drive. Ive included a picture and if you look they are like crispy bacon. That was it for me. Off we go and I'm not bothered about what junior has to say. You simply cannot serve that standard of food onto people in this day and age. I wouldn't even give my dog that standard of chicken, it was days old. I've done over 200 reviews on here and very rarely ever make a bad review. I will always see something good and try build a positive out of it. But this was horrific. I've even called into the chemist on the way home for some Imodium because its only an hour ago I left, and already I can feel Oriental Buffets revenge building up. Avoid like the plague.

Usually the food is good but not this time!. The pork smelt off and the food though delivered on time went cold very quickly.

I've been here a few times in the past and even though the food has always been hit and miss the staff were really good.. but not this time. I went during the week for a birthday treat and will never go back. We arrived 3 hours after opening to find the staff member on her phone and said just find a table. There was no one in. We sat down and she took 15 mins to come over and ask us for drinks. Then she said do you want buffet food and we said yes. She said you can have the soup but will have to wait for the buffet as it was empty and everything was switched off. She had a very pissed off look as though everything was too much hassle . don't open if you don't want customers. The soup was very salty and I've no idea how long it had been sitting there. After over an hour she said you can eat and yes it was nice that the starters were fresh,everything tasted very old and the pork was off!!! Desert choice is ice cream or cut up stale cakes or biscuits. The tablecloth had old stained food on and the floor was disgustingly dirty but as clearly no one had eaten that day it makes you wonder how long it had been there. The fire exit is blocked by clutter and there is no hot water in the toilets. This place has gone really downhill and I wouldn't recommend anyone going, Unless that is that you want a upset stomach and a disappointing meal.

I went with freinds, The place was lovely with soft music playing, very oriental. The staff were friendly. We had the buffet. There was lots, and, lots, to choose from. The food was very tasty. We all left very full and happy. Will definitely go again. 😁

Tried the delivery takeaway but was not impressed. The chop suey roll was undercooked and unpleasant. The lemon chicken I thought would be crisp was undercooked. Will not be trying again.

Honestly I can't remember ever having a worse meal! I'm not even fussy either! Can't work out how they are still open or how they have got any positive reviews. Just grim food all round 🤢

We visited this restaurant this week for the first time in a lot of years and we will not be visiting again! When the restaurant first opened it was great, friendly service, good choice of food, buffet topped up frequently. Okay, it was never 5* and the decor was somewhat left to be desired but after a few drinks around town it was just an inexpensive casual place to go and eat Chinese food. Now, 11 years on, the only thing that has stayed the same is the shabby decor and the now black carpet. The choice of food on the buffet was very disappointing. It was either pork or chicken or pork or chicken. All looked to be in the same sauce, just different colours. I was not tempted by any of them. The few starters that were on offer were just as uninviting, all deep fried and the same 3 deep fried sausages sat there all night. There were more empty trays than food. As usual, millions of pancakes but hardly any crispy duck, and the duck was mixed with some kind of vegetable to make it look as if there was more quantity and no chance the cucumber and spring onion being topped up. As for desserts, someone had been busy scooping vanilla and mint choc chip ice cream into bowls, and that was your choice. There was 1 member of staff running the restaurant, needless to say tables were left uncleared for ages and when she did clear them, left all the crumbs on the tablecloth. When we asked when the buffet would be topped up she just kept saying "its coming" - it never did. At the end of the meal we asked for the bill and told the staff member how disappointing and awful the food was. She was not interested and after arguing with her for 10 minutes explaining what was wrong she still did not have any interest.

Rara vez para china, pero después de tener una para un buffet chino deseas y nuestro en Preston cerradas nos tropezamos Buffet Oriental. El lugar es grande y sólo había 3 grupos en todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí, estaba muy tranquilo. La comida estaba bien. No vimos mucho comida fresca añadida para el buffet, pero nos dimos cuenta de un montón de entregas dejando. La selección de postres era extraño, pequeños pasteles, un poco de helado y una gran variedad de latas de galletas. Era como estar en mi la abuela. No estaba seguro si debía ir en ellos, y si no no sé si tendría una galleta dentro o primeros auxilios o costurero! El servicio era bastante amable, pero en general no prisa en volver.

We had a takeaway delivered, we chose a set meal for two and the food was excellent. Certainly plenty of it, as we had enough food left for dinner the following day.

La comida en sí estaba impecable, todo preparado y a la orden, sabrosa caliente y muy sabroso. Sin embargo, el servicio realmente decepcionantes. Éramos las únicas personas en el restaurante y nos encontramos constantemente esperando por el servicio ya que el personal fue en la cocina para llevar Elaboración de pedidos. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente para la comida, pero quizás como una opción para llevar en lugar de comer.

La primera vez para nosotros en este restaurante. Era un poco tranquilo, pero el personal era atento y amable. Optamos por el buffet con un precio fijo de 12 libras. 99. La selección de la comida es increíble y la calidad excepcionalmente buena. Las bebidas son razonables y en general fue una experiencia muy agradable.

La comida era excelente. El ambiente es un poco viejo y la decoración no es genial. Mi pareja y yo fuimos, podías conseguir algo del buffet o puede pedir algo del menú. no hay una gran variedad de opciones, desde el buffet, aunque lo que había era muy bueno. Me volvería de nuevo.

I find this place very poor value for the quality and choice of food on offer.I have been a few times for various occasions and always leave feeling disappointed and like I have wasted a meal.The drinks are also very expensive and cheap tasting also.I won't be going back anytime soon.

I've not actually eaten at the establishment for quite some time, but will review based on delivery as we use this service several times over the year. The overall food quality for the price is very good. Delivery, on average within the boundaries of the town is around 45 minutes, with this time sometimes being extended by 10 minutes during busy periods. They offer a few options that appear to be unique including the salt and pepper appetiser box for 2, which is actually a full portion for 2 people and is highly recommended if you like it hot and spicy! I would also recommend their shredded duck pancakes which comes pre-shreadded to save you the hassle. The sweet and sour chicken, chicken and cashew nut and egg food yung dishes have also been enjoyed and are worth trying. The only reason that I have not given 5 stars is that I'm not accounting for atmosphere and service within the restaurant because we get the food delivered.

This was my first order from this restaurant whilst visiting Burnley and ordered a takeaway for our family. The order was placed via iphone and was delivered within the hour. The food was piping hot and very very good. The portions were very large and all the family really enjoyed the food. Can recommend this restaurant takeaway for Cantonese food.

eat here twice now and it was ok starters a little dry think they had been hanging around a while. the food is ok i have had much better buffetts with a lot more to choose from but if your looking for some where cheap and hungry then yeh give it a go. i wouldnt go out my way to visit again but not saying never

Well to say disappointed would be an understatement...lovely setting and very friendly staff but the food was quite a poor standard,very dried out starters and mains quite bland.Hopefully they get busier which would help as obviously the food would be fresher the more often fried/cooked.But a nice enough place.

Had a great time!! Not from the area and spent ages trying to find somewhere to eat, found this place and it was so good!! They where more than happy to bring out more food for us even though we were the only ones there!! Very friendly staff and lovely food. I am a very fussy with my food but the staff were more than happy to explain what was in each dish! Such value for money. Fantastic. Will be going back next time I'm in the area :)

We had a party of 20. The food was delicious, plenty of choice. There was only our party in the restaurant which was great for us cos we can be a little loud at times. The staff are very polite and chatty. Would definitely go again

Our usual takeaway was shut for a few weeks so we ordered from here, although it is also a restaurant.It was busy so the food took about an hour to be delivered but we were told this when we phoned, which was fine. When the food arrived we were very impressed. The meals were all excellent with generous portions and plenty of good quality meat in them. Very tasty and although a little more expensive than our usual, great value for money.Will definitely be using them again -the food was outstanding.

Been coming here now for 3 year and at one point we were visiting 2-3 times a week as we craved the food so much here. Calmed it down a little now but still get take outs and visit at least every month, and any special occasion :-) The Shanghai chicken is to die for :) sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper chicken another favourite. All the starters are yummy, meat spring rolls veg rolls crispy won ton prawn toast chicken balls, chicken satay sticks crispy duck pancakes. Loads of mains to choose from, all freshly made. As soon as something has ran out a fresh dish is brought back out. The staff are amazing, Amy & Anna, Leo the chef:-) all amazing with children. Really haven't found anywhere better to eat and wouldn't want to. Love this place, love the people and food. Thanks for everything and to many more years dining with you :) xxxx

Being here a few times over the years,really like it,as its a Buffet and can have a little of everything I want,the buffet choice of starters,mains and sweets so 3 courses and very reasonably priced and good food,nice friendly service.

This buffet is great value for money. Lots of choice. Lovely food. They also will make you anything you want although at extra charge.Went on a Saturday evening for my hen party. Had a great time.The owner is lovely and very accommodating. Even gave me a bottle of wine to take home

Me and my girlfriend have been eating at this Chinese restaurant for almost three years now and we have always been very happy with the quality. Our suggestion is to order from the menu where you can order as many dishes as you want and they are freshly made. Never tried the buffet so we don't know about that. The duck is great and also the chicken with nuts.

The food was disgusting, There was limited choice, and the dessert was something you would buy from a pound shop--- the price at £10.99 a head was a complete rip off!!

Stay over with friends on occasion and this restaurant is perfect, okay the decor is dated, however the food is great, whether it be Bejing Pork, Salt and Pepper Potatoes, Chicken Satay, the biggest sweet and sour balls I've ever seen and so on. Sure it's not going to win any prizes for best diner ever, but the food is always hot, cooked in small batches and the staff are always courteous and have a chat. Burnley isnt awash with Chinese restaurants, I know because last time I was here, tried to go to the other two as a way of a change and they were both shut, so cant make the comparsion. I dont go here expecting the world, just nice food, nice chatter and nice company. Oriental has never failed on that yet

The staff were nice, the building felt dirty but it was probably just because everything was so old and worn. The food was shocking, hardly any choice and what was there had been there for a long time and was sweating. The food signs were incorrect so it was mostly a guess when putting something on my plate. All the starters had the same smell and taste of dirty cooking oil and I've no idea what the dark brown paste was in the spring rolls but it was enough for me to stop eating. Lastly my diet coke was a cheap supermarket cola... I'm not even a fan of Pepsi so some snide, no frills, roller cola at £2.80 a glass was the icing on the cake. Avoid this place!

There is absolutely nothing nice to say about our visit here today. The place itself is extremely run down and looks like it's not had a penny spent on it since opening. And it's filthy; from the dirty net curtains and the sticky carpet to the lipstick on my wine glass. I adore Chinese food and try to find one wherever I go but this is without doubt the worst food I've ever had. Everything tasted of old burnt fat and looked like it had been kicking about for days. The ribs were hard and dried up and most of the food I had was laced with copious amounts of black pepper which I can only assume was to cover up the fact that the food was past its best. We paid £10.99 each and only managed to eat about half a plate at best, the majority of which I would imagine I'm going to see again pretty soon....

I think I have been fortunate that my visits have been early evening before the restaurant becomes busy (as it surely must). For a buffet, there is a wide range of dishes, all prepared excellently. The price is very reasonable and even the drinks are not overpriced. Meals have been consistently good over a number of visits.

We have been here several times the food is okay nothing special , they don't have a huge selection on offer but we find it has something for everyone it's always been half empty when we have been , never seen it full the children like the buffet style as they can get what they want and can try new things

Worst buffet food ever! Very little choice, poor quality and with a distinct lack of any flavour. Desserts are a choice of purposely broken up biscuits in really old dirty tubs.Evening meal options no different to daytime menu despite being £4 more expensive.I would definitely not recommend visiting this place.

Must admit i was a little sceptical after reading some if the reviews but i was pleasantly surprised. Visited on a quite Saturday night, food was plentiful and freshly cooked. Good choice and tasted good. Service was first class. Not bad for £12.99 a head. Will definitely be going back.

Irrespective of the time you visit, you only seem to get a tiny (crappy) bit of Chinese food, whilst you take in the WILDERNESS! All you can eat? Don't actually think anyone with a "GOOD TASTE OR STOMACH" would eat here again ....... Oh and seriously OVERPRICED for the ~ Horrendous privilege!

We go here as a family. They are excellent, the food is cooked fresh as it runs out, if there is something that you want and it is not there then then they will cook it for you, the staff cannot do enough for you. Very friendly atmosphere. Décor a little outdated but, it is clean and very friendly.

Where do I start..., short and sweet! Disgusting food, I mean absolutely dreadful. No choice, hardly anything left, funny smell, dreadful taste, deserts were biscuits in this which turned out to be soft and standing for a long time. In the two hours we spent there we saw a staff member come out twice to stir food up, not top it up despite saying there was nothing left? And don't get me started on the bathrooms..., seriously understand how this place has a 0 food hygiene rating.., needs closing down

I occasionally drop by Burnley for a variety of reasons and have tried a few places. I re-revisited here, for the third time recently. Food still decent. Zinfandel Wine very good, lots of new stuff on the menu. Still cracking value for money, all piping hot, service excellent. Sure, it's not trendy but when the food is genuinely awesome, then what does it matter?

Called in on a Saturday evening at 5:30pm and we were the only ones there until 6ish when more customers arrived. The food and choices of good from the buffet are brilliant. Really tasty food and always kept topped up by the staff. The food is the only reason I've given this place 4 out of 5. If I was judging this restaurant on the building id give it a 1 for terrible. The whole place needs urgent modernisation. It's old and it shows. The men's toilets are awful. Not dirty I must say but tiles have fallen off the walls and not been replaced, a large discoloured gap where the mirror used to be, very old fittings etc etc The music they play is the restaurant is dreadful. Cheap awful tacky rubbish that you'd get from a 99p cd in a pound shop. I will be going again however but only because the food and choice of food is brilliant and there is no other Chinese buffet I know of in the area.Bon appetite!

Took a party of 20 people from my church only booked it an hour before and we were treated superb.Im totaly fed up with people who come on trip advisor to bad mouth this returant its undeserved.We all enjoyed it the food was fantastic again loads of choice freshly cooked the atmosphere top notch.( a small point the music can get a little anoying lol) There was a party of equal size came in on next table also enjoying it.Thanks for a great afternoon we will be back soon.

Absolutely fantastic, Relaxing atmosphere with very attentive staff, always fast service. The food is outstanding, chili and tomato chicken is my favourite but everything is fantastic and the sausages really surprise they melt in the mouth best I have ever had The alcoholic beverages here are better than most bars, and as far as i can tell they do not water down.Food constantly being brought out fresh. Really cant think of bad word to say. all for a great price

Tuesday night buffet with my husband for his Birthday mid November 2014 but the food was lacking in choice and everything tasted overly salty, probably to make you buy more drinks, bottle of beer was £2.70. Starters were a selection of deep fried spring rolls, chicken nuggets, prawn toast, samosa, seaweed mixed with some white stuff that resembled shredded prawn cracker and other food stuffs equally below par. The duck is shredded so small it did not resemble duck at all and mixed with bean sprouts to bulk it out!!!! who has bean sprouts in a duck pancake!!! The spare ribs are so small as chopped to the size no bigger than a little finger that I'd like to know which animal they really came from. The napkin was disgusting as covered with previous stains and marks which surely harbours bacteria. The service was odd at best, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Went on Sunday evening booked table with my mum and dad for 5 o clock.Got to to admit it was a little too early and there was not much food...... but wait in a short time all food was hot fresh and plenty of it.I do not agree with the other review if theres nothing on offer or cold then talk to the staff there super friendly so its your fault.The food was very good not many in but early Sunday evening staff excellent would recomend this as one of Burnley best chinese restraunts at £11.00 eat all you want I will be returning very soon loved it was amazing.

Been here 3 times in the last month and they have never disappointed. The buffet is not extensive but still has plenty to choose from, including crispy duck and pancakes at no extra cost.I will say, from the appearance outside, I was apprehensive but I needn't have been. The quality of the food on each occasion has been, in my opinion, exceptional and without fault. With food being cooked fresh and not sat for hours.The staff are also very attentive and eager to help.Drinks aren't overly expensive either, with the cost of a pint being about the same as in a pub. They also serve saké which my boyfriend loved!Overall, for me, this is an awesome find and will definitely be returning soon.

Went here last night with some friends. The staff were excellent and very welcoming and courteous, offering suggestions for the buffet and helping out where and wheneverIt's not the biggest buffet in the world, but it doesnt need to be as the food is great.The food was nice hot and tasty and as a seasoned Chinese food eater there was some dishes I'd not seen before.Not to pricey, wine and sake were excellent.NB also does an extensive takeaway menu and, you can fill cartons from the buffet for 5 pounds should you want to take those away too.
