L'Affamato in Elmbridge

This is pur second visit since this fantastic place has re started its BYO Friday and Saturday Evening Resteraunt again. Food is super fresh! Pizzas are incredible! Excellent value 2 or 3 course fixed price options across the menu. Ambiance great, front of house excellent. What can I say, just get back down to those who used to go to the Evening Resteraunt BYO and to those who haven't been yet, try it! We will be back again very soon.

I came here for a coffee with a friend, but was a bit peckish, so ordered a pizza. It was very tasty, and the coffee was good to. This is a great local restaurant with some nice Italian deli items to purchase.

Small, friendly local independent Italian. Classic, simple menu which changes regularly, with daily specials. Food is consistently excellent and the cosy atmosphere makes it a great place to eat.

For an “Italian” restaurant, the pizza is absolutely awful. Dont waste your time and money.

Great place...just a pity its evening opening has been scuppered by the staff shortages affecting so much of the hospitality sector.

Over priced for such a small portion Shame because it was delicious I have ordered from another Italian restaurant in the past and got double the size portion equally as tasty and same price. (Unfortunately was unable to deliver today) Won’t be tempted to re order from here again.

Never disappointed. Great food.

Let's start with positives. Ordering experience and delivery time was very good, especially for a Saturday eve. The the portion sizes were extremely generous. However. The food. Generally, a restaurant passes the "turing taste test" if it is better than what I, a non-professional cook, can cook - this relates to the underpinning principle of trade in a service economy - people pay others to do a better job than they can by themselves. As harsh as it sounds, this experience really failed in meeting this principle. The sauce of my ravioli itself was cloying and synthetic. The ravioli parcels themselves tasted stale, as if they had been defrosted and microwaved. I ate my meal through gritted teeth. The other pasta was oily, like really really oily - it was sitting in a puddle of oil which I had to siphon off into a bowl in an attempt to make the dish palatable. The sauce was supposed to be a pesto but this was not evident from tasting it. The chicken was evidently defrosted cubes that had the geometric semblance of tofu. It was a genuine displeasure to eat. The tricolore salad was bland, it did not have any seasoning, but at least it was "fresh" and could be seasoned to taste better. I see a lot of positive reviews here and I can only assume that somehow I was unlucky and got the slim pickings from the freezer after the restaurant ran out of food. I genuinely have had more enjoyable experiences buying frozen pasta from ASDA or just cooking for myself. 1 star for taste and an extra star for delivery speed, price and portion sizes.

We have used L'Affamato for many years for eat in BYO, lunch and takeaway. Popped in for takeaway pizzas mid week and fantastic. Local, excellent quality, extremely good value, fresh and tasty. Definitely the 'go to' place during lockdown for a pizza takeout! Here's hoping later after lockdown the BYO bistro re opens, fingers crossed!

Great food, value for money and friendly service

Fantastic little BYOB place with great food and service. Calamari starter was big and tasty, the garlic prawn starter delicious. Seafood spaghetti and carbonara also firm favorites. Tough times for these small independents - we’ll be back

Got a take away from here yesterday. You phone in advance and I picked up You can also get a delivery Pizza was excellent, genuine Italian Garlic bread superb and garlic mushrooms to die for. In these mad times well done and I will definitely be back next week

This unassuming cafe turns into a wonderful, cosy restaurant in the evenings, serving the freshest, tastiest Italian food. Prices are fixed at £20 for two courses and £25 for three courses. You can also bring your own wine. Make sure you book as this place is popular and gets very busy!

We visit here for coffee in the morning and for supper. The food is always amazing, small intimate restaurant with good atmosphere and you can take your own wine. The Specials are wonderful but so are all the choices and the Pizzas amazing! A real local treasure

Cosy local establishment in East Molesey village. Attention to detail and friendly service. Good rangeing menu plus a bonus of being able to bring your own wines. Need to make advance bookings.

Now this really is a lovely place. Casual, cosy, kind. Can be a bit expensive but lovely for little trips and nothing too fancy. Ideal location on the corner as well. I love coming here and would definitely recommend it.

This very unassuming little cafe/restaurant serves some of the best Italian food we have tasted. It is a regular haunt of ours since moving to the area. In the evenings you can take your own wine and as well as a comprehensive pizza and pasta menu they always have daily specials. It is always very busy so make sure you book in advance if you want to get a table!

I ADORE pizza, but I NEVER buy it from supermarkets. Furthermore, I NEVER order it from takeaways and I ALMOST NEVER eat it in restaurants. L'Affamato, East Molesey is one of the VERY FEW places where I eat pizza, because their pizzas are simple and unpretentious and always look and taste delicious. Furthermore, they come with an intelligent price tag. :) I recently ordered a Pizza Margherita at L'Affamato and it was truly exceptional. I was also most impressed by the staff during my visit who were genuinely warm, helpful and very pleasant to talk to.

I have eaten in L'affamto many times now. The food is tasty, generous and fairly priced. The pizzas are usually my go to lunch choice. We've also had breakfast a few times, again very tasty. Always friendly and very quick service. My only very small criticism is that it can get very warm in there. I once got so hot I had to step outside into the 5° cold. But when I came back the very kind waiter checked I was ok and offered to turn the ac or fan on. I also like that you can see the cooking happening from your seat. Just as someone who worked in the food and catering industry for many years, I like seeing the effort that goes into my dish. Please do visit if you come to Molesey.

This small deli/restaurant is regularly visited by our friends who live locally and we can see why. Although very quiet it exuded a charm .Food was individually prepared and the smallish menu did offer some interesting choices.

What a welcoming lovely place to go! Great food and cakes. Freshly cooked and delicious pastas and pizzas breakfasts and snacks. We go there a lot everything service and staff very pleasant.

It’s simple, a cafe style, but Lovely food and service. We had the King Prawns the other night - I don’t know how they can even produce this dish at such excellent value! Superb pizzas too. Always very good value.

Tucked away on the corner of School Road in East Molesey this cafe serves delicious freshly cooked Italian food. I had the carbonara my favourite Italian pasta dish, I was not disappointed it was delicious. The prices are so reasonable half what you would pay in the Italian chain restaurants and tastes so much better. Service excellent, lovely menu cannot fault in any way

Absolutely amazing Italian meals, freshly cooked to perfection! My partner and I had the seafood starter and the mushroom, spinach and mozzarella crostini, followed by the prawn linguini! Such generous portions and so tasty! Yum!

Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff

Visited on a Saturday evening with my parents. The menu is lovely for pizza and pasta dishes but be aware there are no main meal meat based menu choices such as steak or pork. The food we did have was absolutely delicious but sadly the whole visit was marred by the ridiculously slow service to our table. Our starter took and hour but other people who came in behind were being served their mains before we had that. In the end my husband went and asked where our food was so there was an apology and our starters arrived. Then unbelievably they did it again and we had to wait over an hour for our main course as well with no real explanation offered. This was such a shame because the food itself and atmosphere were really good. Apparently a mix up with the order print out in the kitchen.

Great cafe during the day. Lovely fresh Pizza. But at the weekend it transforms into a very small bring your own drink restaurant and it's always amazing. We don;t get to go as often as we would like because it's always booked out.

We went with good friends who are also foodies. We had several different dishes: fried calamari, king prawns for starters followed by a chicken chorizo special, spaghetti with king prawns and zucchini, and two pasta dishes the names of which I have forgotten. We took our own fine wines. So all in all, £25 a head for a genuinely lovely meal. We'll be back.

Hidden gem for Fri and sat dining byow

Estábamos en la zona y necesitábamos un bocado rápido para comer. Pedimos unos sandwiches que estaba muy sabroso y bien presentado. El servicio era amable y el lugar estaba lleno con clientes habituales que parecían saber a la gente que trabajaba allí. La comida parecía muy sabroso y sin duda merece otra visita.

Even for the UK, this place was hot inside. Great coffee and well presented brownie. The restaurant was let down by lack of clearing tables with previous customers mess left there and was still there when we left.

Amazing food, atmosphere and friendly attentive staff at this great little hidden gem of a restaurant that would give many a top London restaurant a run for its money!The value is pretty good too, added with the bring your own booze it made for a really nice night out, yes its small, but this adds to the charm of the place, it only runs as a restaurant on a Friday and Saturday night, so you need to book in advance, go a try it, you won't be disappointed.

Had a delicious salmon and cream cheese baguette, then an excellent chocolate brownie, with a pot of tea here - really good.

I go to Laffamato at least once a week for a coffee or snack or to take the kids for tea. The coffee is great, the pizzas and pastas are both delicious. Also been to the evening BYO dining which is great value and delicious.

Great venue with freshly cooked and very well presented food. Bring your own wine on Friday and Saturday evenings is very popular. The staff couldn't be more helpful and do their upmost to make your visit as special as possible. This is a gem of a restaurant that my wife and I highly recommend.

Popped in for a quick bite on a Friday evening. You can bring your one wine which is great.. Makes a night out a lot cheaper if you are on a budget or just fancy a quick bite without breaking the bank. Menu is small but delicious and has enough variety to find something you like. Spot on. Can not fault it.. apart from I wish they had more tables so we could pop in more often.

I popped in for a meeting over coffee and was surprised I'd never set foot in there before because it's really quite nice.It's got Italian charm, friendly staff, all the usual wares for an Italian cafe and nice decor.I'll definitely be back and wanted to get word out that it's probably the best coffee option in Molesey high street but doesn't attract patrons new to the area because it's a bit on the edge of the high street activity and to me it's always looked closed or dead quiet but I think it's just an ill-presented street front.Give it a try if you're in the area and in need of coffee and cake.

Popped in yesterday evening with friends and as always another great evening. Max was personable and fantastic as ever and the the sea bass with tagliatelle was devine! Long live the L'Affamato!!..

My wife and I went for dinner on a bring your own wine Friday evening. The food was absolutely delicious with nice generous portions. I had the crab linguine for main with friend scampi to start. Both were freshly cooked and contained a delicious taste and flavours. It was rather small inside and very busy but this just added to the lively friendly atmosphere. We will be back.

I was introduced to this cafe by the Hairy Bikers when they were filming in Molesey. It is very simple food - salads, soups and jacket potatoes all at very reasonable prices. It is unpretentious and simple. You can also take your own wine in the evenings at the weekend.

How they produce such excellent food from their small kitchen is a miracle. I've never had an average dish in this restaurant. As a result it's very full whenever I visit. Definitely with a visit!

Every Friday and Saturday night, this lovely Molesey cafe (on Walton Road) turns itself into a superb Italian restaurant which seats about 30 covers. The menu is small but perfectly executed. They specialise in pasta and the pizza (especially the calzone) is the best I've eaten outside of italy! Massimo is the star of the restaurant - his passion for food and enthusiasm keeps us coming back on a regular basis. What makes it super special is that it's a BYO. Prices are spot on and you feel you can eat what you like because you're not going to be ripped off with the wine prices - they don't even charge corkage . Give it a try - you'll become a regular.

Visited here after several friends recommended it. Only open in evening on Friday and Saturday, best to book as very popular with the locals. Tables close together but no problem as everyone very friendly. Food really good, mostly pizzas and pasta plus a few 'specials'. An extra bonus is you take your own wine/beer, thus making it a very reasonable meal out, price wise.

I come here at least 2 or 3 time a month... They are friendly and polite and all smiles. They make good Italian food and at reasonable price. A definite place to go for lunch or dinner.

Excellent, simple, tasty Italian cooking. Relaxed atmosphere, with a great host! The menu changes each time whilst keeping the old favourites. Have been coming here for over 2 years. We will be back again soon. Service is well paced leaving plenty of time to chat and catch up. Excellent shout for allowing BYO win/beer etc! Keeping evening openings to Fridays and Saturdays really makes this place feel special..Long live the L'Affamato!!

One of the best little restaurants around. Lovely lovely food, excellent willing and cheerful service. Small but perfectly formed restaurant. We have dined there as a couple and with friends. Pizza is just superb. My seafood pasta was an absolute delight. And the bonus that you can take your own wine, so the bill is very reasonable. They only open in the evening a few nights a week but that's fine. The perfect way to celebrate the end of a busy week. Can't recommend L'Affamato highly enough.

This was my third visit to this restaurant, during the week it is an italian coffee shop making fabulous coffee I am told. But on friday and saturday evenings it becomes an italian restaurant making home cooked food. We visited on a cold january night, the restaurant was snug and warm.You must book as it is always full.You take your own wine and there is no corkage charge, we took screw-top bottles.The menu is not that extensive, but all the food is cooked from fresh ingredients.I started with the gorgonzola mushrooms, which are amazingly good. For the second course I asked for the ingredients to be changed (chicken instead of crab meat) as all meals are cooked from fresh ingredients this was no problem.My wife has a gluten allergy and this caused no problems. She tells me the gluten free pasta good.The total bill for the two of us including gratuity was only 37.50, which is very cheap for the quality of meal.The service was good, the staff were friendly and accommodating. All in all I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this restaurant.

Meeting a friend coming off the train at Hampton Court we wanted somewhere to go for a drink and bite to eat whilst having a chat. We decided to bypass the somewhat touristy and bustling cafes near Hampton Court bridge and headed round to East Molesey High Street to L'Affamato which a friend had previously recommended.We were very pleasantly surprised by this small, independent, Italian café.They have quite an extensive menu and a couple of specials of the day.The people next to us had ordered pastas and salads which looked amazing, we wanted smaller meals so had coffees, a roasted vegetable and goats cheese Panini and a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, both came with a generous salad garnish and were fresh and delicious.The waiter was friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back to try more on the menu and will recommend to my friends. A very pleasant find in my local area!.

Super meal at L'Affamato tonight as recommended by my cousin who is a local. Superb starter and could not fault the house speciality Spagetti Affamato - crabmeat, ginger and chilli. Take your own wine and enjoy a really good night out.

Food is delicious and great value. Both pizza and pasta good, I have an Italian husband and he is very particular with his pizza and this is one of his favourites.

The end of the week is time to chill.L'affamato is just such a place to make it happen.This delightful little restaurant serves delicious Italian fayre at reasonable prices. The service is friendly and efficient. It offers a small and intimate ambience with background music. Booking is recommended.

We chose this place to eat on Sat night - following good reviews. The place was full and buzzing, the food (Italian) was excellent and reasonably priced, the staff were great and we will definitely return. Note - currently open for dinner on Fri / Sat, but this may change and also BYO.

I had lunch here with my cousin who lives close by. Small, cafe-size interior that is clean and friendly. Pizza I had was inexpensive at 6.95 pounds and was more than enough for one person. Pasta dishes looked good and people on next table confirmed that.Place is off the beaten track for travellers but if you are in the vicinity at lunch time, give it a go. It is quite close to Hampton Court Palace but you need to check the location as you can easily miss it.
