Absolutely disgusting. If I could give it zero then I would. Fish was dry as anything so was obviously left and wasn’t fresh and chips were the dregs. If it wasn’t for the fact that my son drove back with it then I would have asked for fresh order…..or better still a refund. The first pic is from Ladygrove and the second is my usual go to on a Sat from the Kassam. I will never go there again and for £32 for 3 portions and 2 of them going straight in the bin, bit of a joke

Brilliant fish bar, everything is freshly cooked to order, can't recommend the kids fish and chips enough.

Best fish and chips in Didcot. The fish is always good, the batter is crispy. The chips are generous and well cooked. All the staff are friendly and have a good sense of humour. We are usually dragged into the shop by our border collie, who is welcome to sit inside whilst we wait for our food. So dog friendly. I only wish that the restaurant section was open occasionally - sometimes it would be nice to sit down and eat there... Like at the weekend.

This is a great chip shop that sells great quality chips. The fish and kebab meat is really good. The best chip shop in Didcot. Hot crispy and golden brown chips. Friendly staff that want their customers to be happy with the food.I will drive past all the other chip shops in south Oxfordshire to get to this one. Well done guys you should be proud.

No real problem with the quality of the fish and chips, but £10 for a medium size cod and small portion of chips- really expensive! I won't be visiting again.

Nice and friendly staff, food was excellent quality well worth the money definitely going back there.

We've been coming here for at least a decade now, and can honestly say it serves up first-rate fish and chips with incredible consistency. We've been to some "award winning" chippies in places like Whitby, and while they're pretty good, in terms of quality of frying, portion size and price the Ladygrove FB has them beat. The staff are always cheerful too.

[Update Nov 2020 - this place is still brilliant - great fish and chips, generous portions, friendly staff. If only everything in life were this consistent and reliable!] Having had fish and chips at some of the (supposedly) best chippies in Britain (eg the Magpie Cafe at Whitby, reviewed on TripAdvisor and The Guardian), I can honestly say the Ladygrove is the best chippie of the lot. The spuds are top quality, the fish is always fresh, and the staff are always cheery. Oh yes, and it's brilliant value too. This chippie is one of the best things about living in Didcot.

This is hands down the one of the worst fish and chip shops I’ve EVER been to. The chips were so soggy and floppy that it was like trying to perform open heart surgery with a teaspoon. I picked up the battered sausage and it was dripping with grease. The batter was tough and chewy, not crispy as it should be. And to top it all off it was all hotter than the surface of the sun. All round unpleasant experience.

They remember me and what I usually order, which is a nice touch, and shows they care about their customers. A strange thing to say as it probably a plus, but the chip portions are very big so I usually avoid them as I won't be able to finish them ( a smaller portion would suit me). A minor niggle is that the saveloys sometimes are bit beyond their best. Overall though, a great takeaway with good food and a friendly and personal service

Best fish and chips in Didcot. Right in the Ladygrove estate with parking just outside. Fish are very good portions and the large chips take some finishing.

Placed my order, got home to find no fish!!!! Took it all back, waited for more fish to be cooked, asked for mushy peas as an after thought and was charged for it, got home no relish on the burger. Chips looked and tasted like yesterdays , fish very, very dry and burger tasteless!

Had cod and chips. All very good and freshly cooked. Portion sizes very generous, so no need to order large chips. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices.

Went here last week to take orders for work. Didn't wait too long, food portions were fairly large and everything tasted nice. The price of the meals were nothing too expensive, and expected from this kind of establishment. Plenty of options on the menu for different types of fish, and vegetarian options also. I noticed they had seats and tables inside, which gives the option of a sit-in meal or takeaway.

This is my local fish and chip takeaway and I was a little disappointed. The quest for good Didcot chippy goes on.

I thought I would grab dinner while in that neck of the woods. Got home and the chips were greasy and the fish super greasy and soggy sorry but won't be returning!

I had taken a couple of rolls for my lunch and decided to pop into Ladygrove Fish Bar to get a portion of chips to go with them. I only ordered a small portion (£1.70) but there was masses of chips, I actually couldn't eat them all. Heaven only knows what a large portion is like. Chips were very very nice and the fish, pies and sausages looked beautifully cooked. Thoroughly recommend this shop.

No estoy seguro que posee/va, pero tan lejos como un chippy va es bastante maldita. Recomiendo el bacalao y la salchicha maltratadas. Pero en general, creo que un buen hotel de 4 estrellas son merecidas. Prefiero un diluyente, pasta más ligero como una masa más crujiente tempura estilo japonés! Pero eso es para mí.

We've been using this fish and chip shop for over a decade. The food used to always be excellent both in quality and quantity and you could always have a good banter with the staff.Since the previous owners moved on a couple of years ago, we just have not known what to expect. There seems to be a regular turnover of staff so you can't get to know them and the food can sometimes be good and plentiful and at other times substandard and small in quantity or a mixture of both.Last week's visit (large fish, small fish and a large chips) produced a really lovely meal with everything good and plenty of it.Tonight's visit (large fish and regular chips) produced an average size piece of fish with soggy batter and what I would describe as a small portion of chips. Not good.

Good fish and chips at a reasonable price. Sausage in batter really tasty and they do a good chicken burger cooked fresh while you wait. The service is always friendly and you get lots of chips in a portion.
