La Viña Tapas Bar in Haringey

Nice restaurant, i must say. The lighting was lovely. The display of wines was nice to look at. Great choices on the menu for everyone. I love seafood, so what we ordered was delicious. Wish there was more of the stuffed baby squid as it was just 2. But the sauce was delicious 😋. The chef salad was my favourite. The avocado, anchovies, and artichoke are a great mix i didn't know that I needed. The lamb liver was a bit gamry7but still ate it. The octopus was perfect 👌🏾. Cooked well. If we weren't in a rush, we would've ordered a few more things. So next visit we may need a bigger table 😁.

Yes I checked the reviews (including the one with mice) but thought they would have worked on it. Sadly not, the place looks clean but the food is bad unfortunately. The only food that was great was the padron pepper. Says it all as it requires no cooking. Gambas didn’t taste fresh, and fried aubergine was tasteless just a bit of sparkle of cheese on it. The staff is really friendly and welcoming so it’s important to know. We only had half of the food eaten and the waitress didn’t ask why which tells me it must happen often. Good location good space I know the team can improve with a passionate chef

Love this place! Feels like being on a mini holiday. Good portions, tasty dishes with simple seasonings that bring out key flavours, reasonably priced wine and attentive friendly staff.

Lovely place. Been there for years. Not local, so don't get to visit often, but came back after a few years and the food and service was excellent. Some delightful dishes.

Good tapas menu. Mushroom dish disappointing but other than that very good indeed.

Food was bad. It’s hard to get patatas bravas wrong but their version was a few soggy potatoes swimming in a sea of tasteless tomato sauce. Service was terrible and slow; our waitress looked and acted like she did not want to be there. Portions were small and to top it all off the didn’t mention they have paella on special on Sundays and instead charged us twice the amount for half the food. They did seem very chummy with the table of regulars next to us and brought paella out for them very quickly. Avoid like the plague. Especially since they clearly pay for fake reviews.

I had an amazing tapas experience at La Vina! The cosy and welcoming atmosphere was perfect for those who want authentic and delicious Spanish cuisine. The flavours were incredible, and all the dishes were freshly prepared. They also had a great selection of wines to choose from. The service was excellent. I’ll definitely come back.

This is a nice and fulfilling restaurant. The customer service is extremely good and fast. I really enjoyed being here. Will most definitely come again. The staff are all amazing and friendly.

Having lived in the area for over a decade, we finally found the occasion to visit this quaint and well reviewed tapas place. Positives: the building interior is lovely, with a porch and cozy candlelit tables. The service was friendly enough, though it seemed a bit understaffed. Negatives: with a heavy heart, I have to say the food. First, look underneath the bread; it has the marks of an industrial bakery (looks like the baguette from Tesco, and wasn't fresh). With so many local bakeries within literal blocks of this place, it was the first disappointment. We ordered two chicken dishes, and the meat that appeared was entirely chewy, dark cut-offs, fat, gristle and with some small bone. It tasted and felt like the bits of a chicken that a butcher might discard. I bit twice into bone fragments before giving up. To be clear, this was not an intentional "bone-on" chicken situation. It was a surprise, chopped bits of bone occasionally in your mouth sort of situation. Aside from this, all tapas dishes that were ordered, including the delicious-sounding aubergine, were swimming in translucent oil: not nice olive oil, either. It was hard to stomach. The tomato sauce that appeared on several dishes was exactly the same and clearly canned, with no hint of fresh ingredients or in-house preparation. In short, it felt like there was someone back there pouring stuff from various cans into dishes and heating them up. We left hungry (I hate wasting food but truly couldn't finish it). I'm not snobby about food, but with Green Lanes becoming such a destination for delicious, authentic, inventive and freshly prepared food, walk two minutes in any direction and spend your hard-earned money (possibly less of it!) elsewhere for a much better experience.

Lovely little restaurant! Popped in for a Tuesday night dinner when they have their special pricing. 3 tapas per person for 15.95. I chose their Garlic Prawns, Garlic Mushrooms and Cauliflower dishes. Hubby chose (also) Garlic Prawns, Green Peppers and Patatas Bravas. Portion sizes were perfect and the flavours were all absolutely lovely. The house Rioja was also beautiful.

We loved this place! So glad to have stumbled across a hidden gem. Cannot fault the food or service. Particularly loved the depth of flavour with the spicy prawns (I wish there was more in the dish though) and loved the almond cake to finish. Will be back soon for more! Also love that there's a mini deli to purchase wines, olives, oils, sauces etc here

The waiter talked a lot and made us really uncomfortable. The service was very bad and very slow, we waited for a long time. The waiter was not doing his job because he was talking. I say especially to the ladies who will go, be careful... The food is not even real tapas, our day was very bad.

I recently had my baby shower at La Vina tapas bar. Everything was amazing from the service being 5 star, the food was delicious and atmosphere was excellent. I would highly recommend. La Vina is a hidden gem in Harringey. From group bookings to romantic dinners, I would definitely very highly recommend. Massive thanks to Yeliz and her team for making my baby shower unforgettable.

Lovely restaurant with ample space, had the tapas, I'd say food was a little bland and could do with more flavours and a little more effort but everything tasted fresh, aside from the fish croquettes as that's always frozen then fried. Service was as good as it could be when there was 2-3 people serving over 30 people

Excellent food, service and atmosphere

Family run establishment, very welcoming owner. The croquetas were excellent, gambas al ajillo too. I don't how authentic it is but for a weeknight small celebration with my family it fit the bill

The service was excellent, and the location, right next to Harringay station, lent an authentic vibe to the experience. Moreover, the prices were very reasonable compared to other places in London. I absolutely loved the cosy ambience and plan on returning for another visit soon.

It’s sometimes easy to forget this restaurant is here, however it is really worth a visit. We have only been a few times since it reopened but I really hope it succeeds. We went tonight and I was reminded how nice it is to have something other than Turkish nearby. Great food and wine, lovely welcoming and friendly staff. I’m defo going to make an effort to visit more often.

It is with a heavy heart that I give them 4 starts but what's more important for the reviews, in my opinion, is the food quality and it wasn't the best tapas I have ever had, and I know what Im talking about as I'm Spanish myself. Some of the stuff like the morcilla and the bacalao croquetes were great but other stuff like the patatas bravas, gambas, chicken or aubergine were just pretty average. Oh and the churros with chocolate, a bit meh. Service was very attentive however they were very slow and pretty much forgot about us a few times even though the place was almost empty. It was good to see that they don't add the service charge by default so the tip is optional, however who carries cash nowadays? Maybe the option on the card machine to leave some tip would be a good solution.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the whole experience. The First thing which caught my eye was the extremely unhygienic seats. The covers and cushions were so dirty that I had to take some time to find the cleanest table. The lady who was serving was nice and polite but was wearing a top with stains on it. The food and customer service was okay but I think I just couldn’t enjoy it because of the first impression.

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing dinner there, the place is very cozy with a small terrace and the owner is a great person, give you a good vibe. We tried a few different dishes and my favorite was baby calamari stuffed with prawns ❤️, rose wine amazing… churros, I always go for churros ❤️ ! Definitely recommend and we will be back ❤️

This little gem was beautifully rustic inside. The menu looked delicious with various options. We had a mixed paella which was 10/10 and a lovely bottle of wine to go with which complemented it perfectly. The service was delightful with olives and little glasses on sangria on arrival. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Deserts were top tier and value for money was good. We will 100% be back and I already can’t wait! Sarah & Tony.

My partner was insulted by the waitress. Asking if she was pregnant. After being told she wasn't she continued to insist she was. Dumb and insulting. The wines od guess is bought at about 3 quid a bottle and sold at 25 quid. Its supposed to be tapas I spent over 160 pound and there was barely enough food to feed 1 of us.. go elsewhere

Excellent service and really good food - Last visited this place over 20 years ago - no idea why so long for our next visit but food was excellent and staff were lovely - we will be back soon

This is a family run establishment. Warm and friendly. We arrived with a baby and a dog - Maria seated us immediately. To avoid any doubts; the bread is free and freely replenished! They even gave us a shot upon our departure.

Great new discovery! Excellent food, great service, lovely atmosphere/ambience. I really enjoyed my evening here with friends - great fun. I will definitely return for more. Highly recommended.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.The food is blunt, tasteless and the oil used smelled and tasted so bad we started wondering of the quality of the rest of the ingredients used.

Great place to go for casual food and drink

Basically I ask for a coke and they served my a quarter of a cane and they didn't even leave the cane. The wine cup was 1.25 and they charged like 1.75 and the croquettes were made with potatoes and not with bechamel cream. I feel scammed. I would never come back to this place and if you value your money you won't either.

Probably the best restaurant in the nearby area. Good portions and tasty food. The shop has some great things as well.

Reopened tapas restaurant close to Harringay station. This was rather better than I remembered. A friend and I shared five tapas dishes. All were good, particularly one with aubergine. Bread is provided without charge. The decor and ambience are good and relaxed, and service is friendly. With a bottle of the "house Rioja" and service, the bill came to £27.50 each, which was reasonable.

Good size portions, a really important fo me as some tapas portions are so tiny! Nice friendly service and relaxed environment.

I went there last night for the re-opening. As a Spanish foodie, I must say the food is still a long way from being at a good Spanish level. The portions were expensive for the amount they served. SUPER TINY plates. The croquetas had no sight of this creamy bechamel you expect to find, they were hard and weirdly shaped. The pinchitos de pollo were absolutely dry and the patatas in the bravas were previously cooked and did not have the best texture, although the sauce was passable. Pimientos del padrón were ok but you cant really go wrong with those and gambas al ajillo were ok but missing salt. The bread was not Spanish typical bread and they charge for it, which is not very Spanish. It is a shame as the service was good and the place is nicely located next to Haringay station. Keep on improving and maybe I will come back to try again.

Nice simple to have Spanish tapas. The wine was not that good and overall, the food is fine but average. Plenty of space on the terraces. 4 stard because the dessert was really tasty.

One of my absolute favourite places to eat in London - a true hidden gem. We've been regular customers for 8 years and missed it dearly while it was closed; we're so happy is has reopened. Long live La Viña :)

Súper decepcionada con la comida y el servicio al cliente. Fuimos a comer con mi pareja,pedimos 5 tapas y 2 vasos de sangria. Sinceramente, los precios me parecen súper elevados para la calidad de comida que ofrecen 🤦🏽‍♀️. No me puedo creer que hemos pagado £10,95 por un plato ibérico de embutido ( supuestamente jamón ibérico pero es una bandeja de embutido que puedes comprar en Sainsbury o cualquier supermercado) Las croquetas de pollo llevaban queso y perejil ¿como puede ser posible? No lo recomiendo !!!

Really good to have a great local restaurant with good food and friendly helpful staff. Wide choice of drinks including freshly squeezed juices , wine and beer. Delicatessen shop at the rear. Open for coffee at 7am

Lovely local, albeit fairly routine menue

The waiters are quite warm. Despite the cheap prices food is surprisingly good. Place is a bit old but I liked the atmosphere of this restaurant very much. I highly recommend La Vina.

Attempt of being a spanish restaurant... food is average, service is poor to say the least. if you are Spanish you will feel you've been fooled, if you are from somewhere else you might like it.

Disappointing. The staff was nice but the food and drinks were underwhelming. Prices were very reasonable though.

I absolutely love this place. Not only is the atmosphere great, the food is everything I would expect tapas to be and the staff are so friendly and willing to go above and beyond. I also work on the road adjacent and so we had our last Christmas meal there. We were a very large group but again the staff were so accommodating and kept me up to speed throughout the booking and planning process definitely 5 stars from me.

La Vina has fast become one of my favourite places for a local meal, and stands up well against other tapas restaurants in North London. It's cosy and very friendly, with a good range of wines and dishes. We were given a very generous digestif last time we visited, and I'm always looking for excuses to go back, even on a school night :)
