La Trattoria in East Northamptonshire

Me and 15 of my family went in tonight I am very disappointed and shocked by the staffs rudeness was out of the world dirty looking us while eating making the young children feel intimidated and not wanting to eat there. One of my family members asked for some balsamic vinegar and got told there’s some there (there wasn’t so she asked for some ) and the women did a sarcastic little smile and went and got some I am very shocked by how rude the staff were when we first went in we looked at menu and there was no pizzas in the Italian restaurant very strange and not Italian at all and when he finally said he will make young kids pizzas we asked if he can make a garlic bread and he said he was unable to (what type of chef can’t make a garlic bread 😂it’s embarrassing for them ) so 4 of family members went to eat somewhere eles and the chef got angry and upset that people didn’t want to eat his food because he couldn’t make anything they wanted to eat and the pure rudeness of the staff was shocking and embarrassing

We first went in with 16 others and read the menu and 4 of our family didn’t like anything on the menu so they left to get some other food after asking the restaurant if they could do anything else like a pizza or garlic bread they said they could only do 2 children’s pizzas no more and no garlic bread so then we politely left and then the chef in the restaurant was being so rude to the rest of the family and it was not acceptable. then the rest came back to see everone else and since we booked we had enough room on the tables for them to sit but then one waitress was so rude and kept looking at everone horribly and made the teenagers very uncomfortable. Although one of the waiters was very welcoming and lovely the rest was such a bad experience and i would definitely not be returning. the food also wasn’t up to the expectations when we saw the price list and it was definitely shouldn’t be priced as that. i wouldn’t recommend with the ride service and the overpriced food,

Delicious. Pasta made fresh every day. A lovely Italian. I went for the Chefs special mutton Ragu and my wife had Ravioli in sage butter sauce and it was sooo tasty! Definitely recommend

It was a rainy Friday afternoon, but we got a warm Italian welcome from this lovely cosy restaurant. The platter was a delicious treat with wine and extra cheese taster on the side 😉. Lovely ambience and music . Great service,. Grazi

Fantastic food, great service. Was looking for somewhere we've never been before just for a change and found a real gem.

This place is a real hidden gem. Really friendly welcome and knowledgeable waitress who offered help picking dishes and wine. We started off with the bruschetta special which was amazing, I could have taken another portion home! The menu is small but you can tell everything is made fresh so I would much rather that than a large frozen menu. I have the ravioli which was so fresh. Originally I thought the portion was small but was actually just the right amount. Wine selection is also extremely good. We ended the meal with a tiramisu to share (I was honestly full but really wanted to try it). A genuinely good tiramisu, strong coffee flavour and a really light sponge. Would be great to see this place busier as it has excellent service and really nice food.

Lovely authentic Italian food done right. Some daily specials. All food cooked fresh to order and homemade pasta!! We will be back

My girlfriend and I had a delightful lunch at La Trattoria. The positive reviews we'd heard were absolutely justified – the restaurant effortlessly combines sophistication with authentic Italian charm. The food was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, resembling a Michelin star experience at surprisingly reasonable prices. The attentive service added to the experience, and it was a pleasant surprise when the chef, whom I believe is also the owner, personally checked on our table and others. An amazing dining experience; highly recommended.

First time here celebrating my birthday with family. Food really was amazing, the service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was so charming and authentic. All three courses were delicious, I have never eaten spaghetti like it and my wifes Gnocchi dish, wow. Our desserts were Tiramisu, mille-feuille and chocolate fondant, all incredible. Nice to speak with the chef and a nice touch giving us his homemade liquer to take home. We have some nice italian restaurants in Northampton but this really was on another level, it has certainly raised the bar. Highly recommended!

The environment and atmosphere of this restaurant are excellent. The chef prepares dishes with care, and the beautiful waitress is very professional and friendly. we are delighted to have discovered such a hidden gem of a restaurant.

What a fantastic hidden gem! Me and 4 friends were there last night and it was a great evening. We hung around for 4 hours. The service was friendly and professional and the food was fab. Most of us had 3 courses. Here’s something you don’t see often: one of my friends left the outside of her ravioli. The waitress came back over and asked her if the outside was a bit tough. My friend say yes. The waitress took it off the bill and then the chef came out and apologised to my friend personally. What lovely service. The food was good enough that I’ll return but this extra attention was amazing. Really stood out for me. It was busy too. Very intimate setting. A must

Most authentic Italian I have had outside of Italy. Properly cooked pasta with rich, beautiful ingredients. Staff super friendly, all in a small, cosy restaurant.

We visited La Trattoria for our wedding anniversary dinner. I think it may be my new favourite Italian restaurant in Northampton (and I’ve been to a lot!). This authentic Italian restaurant has a cosy atmosphere, the staff immediately greet you as soon as you enter the door. Both members of staff were very friendly and attentive. Topping up glasses, when low. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional and the portion sizes are generous. It’s quite unusual to have a restaurant which makes much of its dishes in their own kitchen. The handmade pasta was delicious and leaves you wanting a few more mouthfuls after it’s done! I would highly recommend people check this place out and it maybe it’ll also become your favourite Italian too.

Had a really lovely lunch today at La Trattoria!! We were lucky to be the only people in the restaurant and felt extremely looked after!! This place deserves to be packed! But lucky for us it wasn't today! 🥰 Beautifully decorated and authentic, tasty food! Fancy an Italian? Head here!! Hands down beats every other Italian place we have tried in Northampton! Absolutely Fabulous hidden gem of Northampton. We went for lunch and go for set of day specials! Absolutely beautiful Parma ham and melon to star with followed by delicious pasta and gorgeous Afrogato dessert in the end. Great atmosphere, music, fabulous service and shef who is ready passionate about the food and drinks! Ohhhh of course great Negroni!

This was the craziest experience. The wine was delicious. Pasta great except one dish, no fish flavours. Garlic, chilli and salt were not present. But the actual pasta was lovely. Needs flavours though. However, starters were amazing. Cheese board was out of this world. Components such as figs, different Cheese etc. Honey was like something from heaven as was the chutney. Desserts were lovely. And then the chef came to chat to us and brought homemade lemon cello, a cream liquor and a herb based drink from his home region of Itaky Ginziana. It has so much potential to be sold as a healing tincture etc. And the lemoncello and cream liquor would line the gift bag of anyone's Christmas gift. So authentic. The chef is authentic in his ways and love for his Italian region. I hope he sells his products. The cheese honey chutney wine etc. Its so special, delicious and authentic. Like heaven. He gave me some honey to take home. He is a beautiful soul. And his staff, tinker bell and her buddy are awesome 👌 and amazing experience and feeling that for a moment you are in Italy in some small village with home made local produce and amongst friends and neighbours 😀 😄

Without a doubt the best Italian food I have had in the UK the pasta was incredibly fresh, the tiramisu was delicious and the hospitality was superb. I will most certainly be returning to this little gem in my hometown.
