The Blue Bell Easton on the Hill in East Northamptonshire

Met with a friend in the evening, we hadn't booked, but they had a table for us. Staff are friendly, clean place, chilly outside, but warm inside. Food served piping hot and tasty, their house wine is good. We both had a pizza, full of topping, and not soggy in the middle. Would recommend 👌

My partner and I called in on a Friday for the first time and were very pleased we did. It has a great look and feel about the place, the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. It has plenty of parking at the back with a large garden. We ordered 3 courses each, a bottle of wine and had drinks before we were seated. The bill came to just under £75, which was very good considering the food and service. They also do fresh pizza to take away. Highly recommended!

Second time eating here and again not disappointed. Personally I believe the food is very reasonably priced for the location and environment in the restaurant area of the pub. I had the sirloin steak which was served sliced with rocket, parmesan shavings, grilled tomatoes and chips, and my wife had the roast chicken with chorizo. Ask the food was very good quality, and week cooked and seasoned, the steak was tender and full of flavour. I can't fault it for value for money and would recommend the Blue Bell to others. Audi a good variety of things, and beers, including local real ales and wines.

Just had the best Sunday lunch ever, amazingly tasty quality meat and perfectly cooked veg served hot at excellent prices and great service. Would highly recommend.

Great food. Couldn’t have been more accommodating. We were a large group with three children under 5 they were very helpful, lovely cosy atmosphere.

Love this pub ,really friendly with pleasant service .The menu is amazing value for money ,I've eaten here about 4 times now and every time I've loved it ,fairly basic menu but it really works .Nothing fancy just well cooked honest food .Also plenty of draught ales and lagers ,the mahou is well worth a pint or 5

We stopped in on a walk on a quiet Friday summer lunchtime. It was very much a visit of two halves ... the food was divine but the service was poor. We were greeted by a young barmaid who was clearly new to the role and was trying hard; she took our drinks order but got them wrong and was berated by the older barmaid in front of us for doing so. Totally unnecessary (I'd suggest she should have been trained better in the first place as she was clearly a natural with customers who just needed the correct guidance). When we subsequently ordered food and split the order between the two couples, the older barmaid again chuntered at having to do so and chuntered again when I asked for a receipt. We were clearly a big inconvenience and making "unreasonable" requests! On the positive side was the food ... the menu has some lovely pub classics as well as a good array of sandwiches. All at highly competitive prices. To be honest I expected the food to be very average but was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of all the dishes the kitchen bought out. They were quick too. I'd have paid double the price for my Cod n chips in most other pubs and it wouldn't have been half as good as the Bluebell's. I really hope this place can offer its customers a welcoming experience in future, which when matched with the kitchen's expertise, will make it a 5 star venue.

Excellent food, beer, setting and service.

Came here for a family meal. We had various meals everything from Lasagne to the pork chop I had what was called steak. When it came out of the kitchen covered in rocket and parmesan it should have been enough of a warning! Pork chop was ok spaghetti ok lasagne was stodgy and my steak had been cut into chunks as it was all gristle and tendon very chewy. Mentioned to 2 staff members and showed them but no action or comment was made! £27 charged too! We were the only ones in too so no excuse of it being rushed etc just a sad outing. I won’t be rushing back!

We were a party of 18 celebrating my 70th Birthday. We cannot praise highly enough how well we were looked after all evening. The meal was excellent quality, plentiful and well presented. A special thank you to Alex and his kitchen team on producing such a lovely meal in a timely manner. We would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning. I had my 80th birthday 16 people nothing was too much trouble the food was brilliant. Everybody enjoyed themselves Thank you for lighting the fireworks on my cake

The Blue Bell was recommended to us by 2 lovely ladies in Rapport in Stamford. We had a lovely meal and the service was great. It was a perfect end to our weekend away in Rutland. The pub was welcoming and the food was very reasonably priced. The pub is also situated in such a pretty village.

Called in here 30th April to meet friends for lunch and where dogs were welcome. Nice weather and sat in garden. One of us had a sirloin steak which, compared to rest of menu, was quite expensive but my friends really enjoyed it so all good. The two men had pies which were good and I had an omelette. Drinks were reasonable. We would eat here again. Had a lovely walk round village, Easton on Hill, which is beautiful, my daughter lived here at one time.

We were treated to lunch by some friends to mark our recent 40th wedding anniversary, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was efficient and friendly. We started by sharing some garlic bread and olives. Two of us had roast chicken, which was served with chorizo, tomatoes and olives; I had the lasagne. All these were generous and tasty, One had the Vegan Spiced Cauliflower, Spinach, and Lentil Pie, which was a bit disappointing. However overall the food was of high quality and it is perhaps better to stick to the more Italian influenced items on the menu. Highly recommend.

Last minute decision to eat out, The Bell was really busy but Cinzia the landlady managed to squeeze us in on what is obviously a very popular event, Steak night. Food was brilliant Rump steak, chips onion rings mushrooms and tomato, with a sauce of choice. For a tenner each….. brilliant, have to say that the atmosphere was so good we spent more money on wine than food. Well done The Blue Bell and staff…. Never a disappointment.

2 for £20 steak night is always a winner here! The portion sizes are more than generous and the steaks are always served just as we like them. Fantastic value and the service is excellent. They are a well-oiled team who cannot do enough for their patrons. Bravo!

Visited The Blue Bell on steak night, didn't have to wait to long to be seated (had pre booked) service was quick but not particularly welcoming, ordered steak and chips it arrived quickly and was ok but nothing special.

The Blue Bell is a jewel in the crown of Easton on the Hill. It strikes the perfect balance between great food at legendary good prices and friendly service that is casual and efficient but not fawning and obsequious as some people with the Stamford disease of MSE (Massive Sense of Entitlement) seem to expect. It’s not the George but then again the beer is better and the prices are not a rip off.

Absolutely horrendous service, the woman manager was so rude (to staff and customers) clearly lacks customer service skills. ‘Jess’ who was the on the bar was so blunt, we sat and waited for food and waited at least 30 minutes for the bill ( it wasn't busy) the food was not worth it paired with the rude service. Service with a smile clearly has gone out the window at the blue bell. Lived in stamford for a while and we will not be recommending this pub.

Had Sunday lunch and for a change we decided to have the grilled tuna and salad. It was delicious, good size portion and great mixed salad. Of course had to finish with sticky toffee pudding. Excellent meal

Great Sunday roast in a lovely village pub

For us the pub is in walking distance. Staff were friendly and efficient, no long wait for food. Nice choice of beer for me and the a nice bottle of Rosé reasonably priced. I had pasta and the wife had chicken, rocket salad and garlic and cheese bread with olives on the side. Food as always was spot on. Nice atmosphere and for us good value.

Warm welcome but restaurant was very cold. Three had starters two had Brie, one squid, all looked great and everyone enjoyed. Three of us had beef lasagna and to be brutal it was the worse I have ever had, meat on top, nothing between the many lasagne sheets and a lot of cheese! Our friend had seafood linguine again which was good, salad and chips with mains great. Why I gave it a very good was that the deserts were amazing and £5! Tasted both the profiteroles and the sticky toffee pudding very delicious. Staff could show a little more interest in what we left but friendly overall.

Following announcement of their new menu for 2024 my wife and I booked up for an evening. Great company in the bar before we went into the restaurant and to our expectation the food was as good as before but the new chicken and chorizo did was amazing (better than fine dining elsewhere). Add to this the value for money of traditional Italian starters, pizzas, deserts, wines and the welcoming nature of the staff and the landlady it has to be a high value night out for many. So close to Stamford why go anywhere else.

A party of eight of us went here for Christmas dinner one evening. Good food, good atmosphere and extremely good value. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Really friendly pub. Just passing through but I was made to feel right at home here. Enjoyed the comedy night very much.

Visiting the Stamford area fairly often I'm amazed I've not been to The Blue Bell before because the food is superb and amazing value for money. If you like a pizza then they are amazing hand made or that's what it looked like. The food is at a level you just wouldn't expect for the price. Three courses is not something I would normally do but I couldn't help myself.

Can't praise this lovely pub enough! Excellent food, friendly service and at reasonable prices. Can't wait to visit again.

Could not recommend this pub enough. We came here two nights in a row because the food was so good the first time! We are camping locally and wanted to eat out. The first night we had squid and pizzas. The second night we had brie, prosciutto and lasagne. The food is reasonably priced and we even came away with leftovers because of the size of the portions. The service was phenomenal. They had a massive party but squeezed us in anyway. The service was very personal and the food arrived quickly. It was delicious and definitely worth a visit.

My Wife and I enjoyed an early evening meal at this very efficiently run, friendly pub tonight. After a day of incessant rain it was a delight to be made welcome by the engaging staff who very efficiently served us our drinks and food throughout our stay there. The food itself was quite outstanding, excellent value for money and somewhere we will most certainly return to, the sooner the better hopefully.

Last night at The Bluebell I ate the best restaurant meal I've eaten since I don't know when! (For context this year I've been lucky enough to travel alot and a few weeks ago had dinner in a Michelin star restaurant). I ordered the understated sounding "roast chicken with sauteed potatoes". Far from being understated the roast chicken is cooked in an amazing tomato and pancetta sauce and the bowl it's served in is packed with fresh ingredients and salad as well as the most delicious sauteed potatoes. My partner had one of the many pizzas on offer and we both said it was better than any we'd had in Italy this year. We were really impressed. The waiter told us the chef is called Alex. So thank you and very well done to you Alex. We hope to return when we're in your area again!

Alex does a great pizza - definitely need a doggy bag! Good range of pasta dishes, but a special of the day would be a great addition to the menu. Very reasonably priced.

Have eaten here for lunch but never for dinner. The meal of steak was brilliant, tender, well presented and the chips were lovely. Each of the ladies were also impressed with their meals including pasta, squid and lasagne. Great atmosphere throughout the pub, highly recommend.

The blue bell is sat in the centre of this little village.decent car park at the rear and also has a big beer garden with ample tables and chairs excellent for the hot summer days.great beer too.we didn't have food so can't comment.will definitely call again.

Called in on spec on Tuesday 28th March with friends and there little dog at about 13.30. So nice to experience great service and lovely food at a good price will definitely call again.

Turned up at 13.50 ordered drinks and were told that the kitchen closed at 14.30. Then out of the blue the bar guy said the kitchen was closed! Wouldn’t recommend unless you are local!

what can i say lunch was excellent more than enough for a hungry man plus cheese and biscuits and mince pies to take home. But above all Christmas day lunch and car breaks down in car park Cinzia land lady gets her car out and takes us home not at the end of service but straight away that’s why excellence and the personal touch equal a great Christmas day points out of 10 /25 a pleasure yet again THANK YOU

As someone who enjoys outings with friends and family, I was quite excited to be visiting Stamford for it's interesting history and sights. As per trip, we decided to eat at a local pub or restaurant which so happened to be this establishment. I'll admit, the setting is above average with wooden furniture, a nice garden with slightly inconvenient steps and a decent bar. However, this doesn't excuse the mediocre food that was ordered I, myself, had the roast dinner, where the chicken was bland and gravy very runny (but maybe that was just my portion). My friend had the pizza and described it as below expectations, also commenting on how burnt it was. Before we even sat down, the waiter that sat us seemed very stressed, yet very lovely. The service was ok with little to no complaint. I highly disliked hearing, who I assume is the boss, shouting at the staff for whatever reason; that seemed a bit extreme. In all honesty, I was disappointed in the bar/restaurant as it didn't reach the standards other areas in Stamford seemed to reach.

A wonderful welcome on Christmas Day. Our third Christmas at the Bluebell. Again we found the food to be exceptional, beautifully cooked and very plentiful. Have just left this place after having our small Christmas work do. Staff and service were excellent and the food was generous and tasty. I had the turkey but there was plenty of choice. For dessert I had what were possibly the best profiteroles that I have had. It is probable they bought them in but it was a good choice. The bill was not stupid (just over £20 a head including a drink. We have been a handful of times before with work and I would happily go again.

This is a proper community, family owned pub. Good food at sensible prices and good selection of local brews. Loved the quiz night and I know they put on many other events. Why not give it a try?

We stumbled across this pub while driving up north. It was a tad annoying that every door we went in we were then told to use the next door as we had a dog. This was fine but it happened for the next 2 more doors. I suggest putting up some signs so dog owners know the right place to enter. The roast itself was delicious.

The blue bell is a traditional British pub very good service and great beers. Me and my mum stopped there half way through a walk to have a sneaky beer. The food menu looks great apparently there pizza is out of this world. Would recommend a visit

Good selection of beers that are well kept. Thought the mozzarella and prosciutto were really good. Friday lunch time.

Decent pub. The restaurant area looks nice and food looked good. There is separate bar area to watch sport and a decent beer garden. Beer was good and pleasant atmosphere and staff.

I don't know how they manage to provide such a varied menu with high quality food for such a reasonable price. The atmosphere was great and plenty of people were there to eat lunch. Beer was also reasonably priced. All in all an experience I will be repeating on a regular basis. Absolutely fantastic and friendly, helpful staff. Other venues could learn a lot from their business model.

Booked here for a Sunday roast dinner for 2 families. Sat outside in the sun, food was fab. £13 for adults and £5.50 for children, both superb. Good service, easy access with parking behind the pub and a grassed area for the children to play. 5 stars!

The best service! The best wedding venue! We can not thank Alex & Cinzia enough for providing the best service, the most amazing food for our 2 weddings days. Many of our guests commented on how great the food was, great variety & great portions. The evenings pizzas were the best! If you haven't visited, you must!

In the centre of Easton-on-the-Hill, this pub offers good grub at reasonable prices. Their pizzas are especially good. Lovely staff too.

Never had a bad meal here. Service always good and reasonable prices. Been here a number of times and will continue to go here, vegetarian lasagne is the best I've ever had. They are very community minded as well with putting things on over bank holiday weekends etc.

We ate in the bar area since we had our dog with us. The food and staff ere great. I had the pizza monara and loved it - fortunately doggy bags were offered.

Lovely area for walking, pub was good, lunch menu was very nice but pub was empty so no atmosphere.
