La Terrazzina in York

This is a little gem of a place! We were staying a few doors down at the Premiere Inn and really fancied some homemade soup after a wet chilly day. We had the most delicious sweet potato & butternut squash soup to take-away. The service when I arrived to collect it was impeccable. It looked to be a lovely place to eat in. Would highly recommend.

The food was fantastic! And you can bring your own alcohol without a corkage fee, a repeat visit for us on date nights going forwards :)

Friendly, welcoming and professional waiting staff, hearty Italian food all at reasonable prices. If you want to eat out in York without breaking the bank, La Terrazzina is where it's at. You can bring your own alcohol without a corkage charge to bring the bill down even more, or you can choose from a great selection of milkshakes, coffees, smoothies or cocktails. Recommend.

Had a lovely meal on Friday 6th September. We were treated warmly by Neve the waitress who looked after us for the evening. I had the tuna and my wife wife had the lobster 🦞 ravioli. Delicious 😋. We took our own wine and they do not charge corkage. Great food service and atmosphere. You need to book and the food is prepared fresh. Lovely. Thanks Neve. We will return.

Ordered a margarita pizza takeaway and it was terrible. It tasted like 500g of salt had been accidentally tipped over it! Base was terrible - like something you’d buy from a supermarket but saltier 🤮. The salad was nice enough but not for the £6 it cost! Avoid at all costs! I love cresci and Dough eyes but they were shut by time I ordered so I got this gross disappointment instead 🤮🤮

Lovely little restaurant, spaghetti Bolognese was delicious and the waiter was friendly and helpful :)

A small but lovely Italian restaurant near York city center. We were thoroughly welcomed and were immediately happy to discover that there is a discounted menu with starter and dessert at a very reasonable price for early birds who arrive before 6:30 p.m. The food, especially the lasagne, was also very tasty. Only the dessert was a bit off. Overall, still great!

If you not tried this little Gem yet , give it a try probably one best in York

The food is consistently excellent here as is the warm and authentic people who make it all happen. We come here as a couple, with friends and with our team for events. Always excellent, pleasant and exceptional value - Viva La Terrazzina!

Do you have a spare 3-4 hours for some free chips? Which is what were about to be offered if we’d stayed, arrived at 7:30, starters at about 8:30, mains nowhere to be seen at 9:20. You walk past the Kitchen to use the loos and I should’ve guessed the experience we were in for when I did so, looked a disorganised rabble and so it transpired, restaurant manager in there as makeshift chef leaving his two very polite but inexperienced staff to deal with some folorn looking faces. Didn’t hang around for mains after two hours of waiting so can’t tell what they were like!! Basically bitten off more than they can chew which is a shame as starters were ok when we eventually got them. Just too many of the elements missing that to expect from even a basic restaurant experience. Go to York Dungeons (amazing experience!!) and then avoid this place like the plague bit!!!!! So many good places to eat in York this really is not worth your time folks, and I’d be surprised if the place is around for long in a competitive market.

Free chips anyone? Can't fault the food but the service is SLOW. And I was served lasagne instead of Moroccan stew, despite the server reading back the order to me. Once they realised it was their mistake it was rectified quite quickly. Two hours for two courses isn't good enough for a late table though, even on a Saturday night. Three of the four tables in our vicinity were given chips "on the house" by way of an apology. I would have ordered a dessert but it was simply too late by the time we got that far. BYO is a bonus but not sure if I'll return given the waiting time. Can't fault the Moroccan stew though.

Me and my family, was recommended to try this Italian restaurant, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent, with friendly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, we sat in the garden which was fantastic as the weather was really warm. I recommend to anyone to go and see for yourself.

We came all the way from London for holiday and visit my sister. Today evening we went la terrazzina restaurant. We try five different dishes with chef special milkshake. Food was very tasty and service and atmosphere was great. I recommend food lovers should visit this restaurant. Price is reasonable,

Excellent. They exceeded in everything. My wife is dairy free and can't eat garlic. They made her a special sauce to go with her lamb. Very thoughtful and tasted delicious. Most restaurants give very limited options. Thank you for your care.

Visited twice on our holiday. Lovely restaurant serving freshly cooked food. Beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Lovely pace of service. Pop in next door and buy your alcohol as it is a BYO. All glasses provided according to your drink. Fantastic find, highly recommend.

The lasagna and ravioli spilled and soaked through the bag, ripping it. The “garlic bread” was slightly warm slices with some drizzle on it. I requested no tomatoes in the salad… full of tomatoes. The lasagna tasted ok. That was is… just ok.

Past it yesterday said we would have to try it went tonight. What can I say food was fab cooked fresh so was hot waited a little time but when it's cooked fresh you expect it had tiramisu for desert the best I've ever had

This restaurant is a must visit. It's simple yet tasteful interior is just the start of an excellent experience. Our server was helpful and efficient and the menu was lovely and varied. All our dishes ordered were fabulous. From the pasta to the lasagna to the home made pizza...plenty and lovely flavors. It's a small restaurant with room for limited staff so expect a small wait...but any wait is well worth it.

Lovely food in a nice atmosphere. Great staff too. Brought our 5 year old son too. He loved the pizza.

For an actual Italian place I was severely disappointed. the meatballs came dry despite being in a tomato sauce. the pizza needed 10 more minutes, the cheese wasn't even melted properly and only a single slice of pepperoni per slice of pizza. need to do better

Come here with my girlfriend and kids the food was the best I have ever had the staff was kind and helpful deffinetly will be returning.

The pizzas were very tasty (and nice and thin) and the chips weren’t greasy and still very hot. Food was fresh and we enjoyed it very much and the delivery was on time. We shall definitely be ordering again.

Great experience at La Terrazzina! The food was great, service was quick and the staff was thoughtful and incredibly kind. The woman working there told me which places to visit during my stay in York. I came to eat by myself, which makes me nervous at times but the staff made me feel really comfortable. Absolutely recommend :)

We visited to celebrate a birthday and had a lovely evening. The food and drinks were delicious and the restaurant is halal. We sat in the outdoor seating area which has a nice ambiance and the staff brought the cake out with candles and were very helpful!

Such a cosy little place! The food was phenomenal, and service even better. Our hostess Hattie was attentive and genuinely made us feel so welcome. The gentleman also checked on us to make sure everything was up to standard. Will definitely be back on a future visit!

This is a front for A take away Indian. I had to pay for tandoori Chicken pasta.. nothing is authentic, its all. FAKE. Should be shut down.

Lovely little place, we called in quite late at night and with our dog- which was welcomed without issue. We found the food to be excellent, good ingredients cooked in an unfussy but tasty way; daughter had Carbonara pasta, my wife had lamb chops, and I had a chicken roulade stuffed with spinach and ricotta. All dishes were wolfed down and highly praised. It's BYO, but there's a supermarket next door so booze is easily acquired if you need it.

We and friends have had a wonderful meal for 4, enjoying a quiet warm atmosphere. You are made to feel very welcome. we all agreed we would visit again. Thank you.

When I first came to this restaurant, the atmosphere truly amazed me like a home terrace. In Italian, La Terazzina means a home terrace as you all can spot it nearby the kitchen. Very nice food with authentic Italian taste and dining ambiance. Highly recommended the pasta, steak, and tiramisu.

Walked past the restaurant on Christmas day, and the wonderful smell of Italian food hit our nose. The food was beautiful, the Christmas special menu was excellent. The pizza options on the a la carte were beautiful. Our stay at York was made extra special thanks to the friendly staff and wonderful food here.

We went here yesterday for the first time. I must say we were really impressed, the ambience of the restaurant was lovely and the service was impeccable. The food was outstanding, I had the meat skewer it was gorgeous so much flavour and taste, it was cooked to perfection, my husband had the Pizza Ihe said it was one of the best pizzas he had tasted. Highly recommended this restaurant they also do a meal deal at certain times. We chose not do this but I’m sure it would have been amazing. Definitely going back, probably next week. Definitely worthy of 5 stars

Although all the dishes are tomato sauce based, all of them are different and very delicious😋

Delivery time was pushed back multiple times. Food was absolutely awful. Lasagne was tasteless & the sauce was like watered down tomato soup. 'Fresh homemade bread' was stale & hard. Everything was also cold. Absolute waste of money.

This place has amazing food and service. I was expecting to get a subpar pizza for the price but it was actually, genuinely good! Come here, you won’t regret it.

Amazing italian cuisine catering to all diets in a cosy setting at a good price

Thoroughly recommend giving this place a go. Really enjoyed my experience here. The food and drink was amazing, enjoyed everything beyond my expectations. The staff were really friendly, attentive, and helpful. I'm only in York for a couple of days, but I plan to visit again before I leave.

I had family over and wanted to treat them. We all loved the food and was very professional. It’s become my favourite dine in spot in york when with family and friends. I think it’s very unique they have itallian but also some household Indian classics - that’s why it’s so popular. Had a great meal and great memories so will always be going

Wow! Thank goodness my feet were killing me and I decided to turn around and head home. As I was passing by the smells were so wonderful I thought I would stop and perhaps get something to take away. But once I looked at the menu and the specials, I thought I would stay. And a good thing I did! I ordered the lasagna and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. You gotta love a dinner that after every bite, you just want another taste. So pleasing. Do yourself a favor and don't walk by La Terrazzina writing it off as a inferior restaurant. It would be a tragic mistake.

Lovely atmosphere, beautiful terrace in the back. Shame it was to cold to sit outside to eat however sat for a coffee after the meal. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting york. Would be hard to match the quality. Staff lovely and friendly and catered to all our needs. Fantastic!! Will be returning

Found this little gem of an Italian restaurant on the outskirts of the York walls not far from the mickelgate entrance, we had not booked but they could fit in a table for 2. The staff were brilliant and worked hard all night, 2 chef's, 1 waitress and 1 guy serving drinks, coffee etc. They do not have an alcohol license but are quite happy for you to bring in your own, we popped out to the Sainsburies on the corner and purchased a bottle of Rioja and the restaurant supplies the glasses brilliant. The food was cooked to order so be prepared for a little wait, but oh yes it was well worth it the food was top notch. They are quite new to the area and seem to be building up a bit of following, they are looking at expanding the premises and the kitchen area's next year. I would recommend this little gem to followers of good fresh food, we will definitely be returning again soon.

Food would have been perfect if it was hot , the lasagna wasn’t hot pizza was cold but the chips were hot! delivery kept changing later and later . Bit of a shame really because it looked good.

It was great. They open until late. The food was fine and they were pretty fast. We will come back.

We’ve tried this restaurant for a very first time few days ago and decided to try again something else from the menu and we’re truly amazed. You’re doing it great guys! It looks like we found our new favourite takeaway, can’t wait for the next “takeaway night” already :)

my ordered claimed to be delivered but when i went to get it i was told nothing was there, i believe it was delivered to the wrong person, i would like a refund on the food as soon as possible

One of the best Italian places in york, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend!

The banana milkshake was a smoothie. The pizza was below average and oily. The pasta had 0 taste, it was all spice, the prawns didn’t taste that great either. The meatballs were the nicest thing out of a bad bunch. Wouldn’t order again honestly. Also didn’t realise the hygiene rating is a 2, which is gross.

What a great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, highly recommend you visit if you’re in York. The food was absolutely delicious with a great combination of flavours, prepared by a very talented chef. The menu had a variety of dishes that will please all.
