La Scala Bistro in Belfast

Went to La Scala Bistro last night for my mum and dad's 50th Anniversary. When we arrived there was Anniversary banners on the table and a lovely arrangement of balloons such a nice and remeberable touch. The restaurant was lovely, tables spread out well and the ambient was relaxed with a great atmosphere. The staff were so lovely and attentive they never let glasses get empty and the service was 5 star quality.Now the food. Each plate was picture perfect and tasted amazing. There was 9 off us (separate tables due to covid) but everyone's food was delicious and clean plates all round. We had a three course meal with plenty of drinks and the value for money was outstanding. I would 100% recommend La Scala for a family event, celebration or even just a relaxed dinner. Massive thank you to everyone who made our night such good fun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all round...

Había pasado un tiempo desde que había comido aquí. La comida y el servicio siempre fueron buenos. Sin embargo, en esta ocasión ambos fueron fantásticos. Había siete de nosotros para cenar y todos estaban muy contentos con su comida. Ciertamente han mejorado su juego. No me puedo quejar ni la comida ni el servicio. Sin duda volveremos pronto.

Visité La Scala el sábado por la noche antes de las leyendas de Motown. La comida era de buena calidad ya un precio razonable. El personal era muy agradable, pero el servicio era un poco impredecible y esporádico. Esto continuó en el área del bar fuera de la noche de Motown, donde era pobre. The food was varied and very appetising.I would recommend this restaurant. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

La señora que nos atendió estuvo sola durante una buena parte del tiempo que estuvimos allí y, mientras estaba ocupada, seguía siendo muy agradable y se tomó el tiempo para consultar a sus clientes. Volveríamos de nuevo.

There are some apparently simple menu items, that few restaurants actually deliver on. Steak and chips being one.Setting down a properly cooked, juicy, tasty steak accompanied by delicious, fat, well cooked, fresh chips is no easy task. Most places fail. My meal at La Scala, perfection. Beautiful locally sourced steak and chips to die for. Ten out of ten, and great service from the staff, in a modern, pleasant, and well - lit room. How often is darkness used to disguise dire food? Not here. A faultless experience and one I'll come back to. Highly, highly recommended for this dish.

This restaurant (if you didn't know) is part of the Stormont Hotel and nestles in the basement. We'd just had a loooong drive to Cairnryan, followed by a ferry, and we were bushed. Even so, at nine o'clock at night, they were able to get us a table and food. We had the burgers, which were excellent, and the desserts are definitely worth having a go.Negatives? It was really, really cold by the windows, and the waitress didn't take our drinks order straight away - hospitality 101 error. They also tried to charge us for 2 pints of Guinness instead of 1 - it does pay to check your bill.Overall, a very nice experience.

The food in Las Scala is superb, the service is very good and the staff all most friendly. If you're in the vicinity do yourself a favour and dine in La Scala.

Booked a table for Saturday evening and restaurant was full when we arrived with several large tables of customers as well. We did have a bit of a wait before the waitress took our order, but after that the service was good and the food was very good. My Starter of duck parcels was tasty and crisp and daube of beef very good although I forgot to order vegetables to accompany it. The other half had halloumi (ok) and chicken pie which was tasty. Good selection of wines to choose from and reasonable prices.

We have tried nearly all the restaurants within 2 miles as a regular visitor and guest at the Stormont Hotel. Sometimes we simply want great food and a relaxed atmosphere. La Scala is perfect. Very friendly staff, nothing is a problem and the menu offers a great choice of local produce. This time I was feeling very hungry and asked for a suggested starter. I was recommended the seafood chowder. A creamy seafood medley in a Belfast bap - delicious and very filling. I had to stop myself eating all the bap to keep room for the main course. The Irish Chicken and Wild Mushroom pie main was just as good. A very happy customer. My partner had the scampi starter and the enormous filling but scrumptious burger. We were both surprised at how big the burger was, easily twice the size of most other burgers served in restaurants and clearly only burger, no additives. The Posset and the Lemon Meringue Creme Brûlée rounded it off very nicely. Two very happy customers, we will be back.

Went with the ball and chain (as usual) she had the seafood chowder to start which was really excellent and I’d highly recommend it, I had the scampi which was fine, both had the steak as a main which was faultless but pricey at £30. The service was also excellent, all in all I’d highly recommend it and the ambience is lovely, it is however expensive.

Imagine attending a formal and only being inform on arrival that it was a “dry bar” (no alcohol served). Especially for those who are over the age of 18 with valid ID provided. Furthermore, as we got off the party bus security were standing at the door of the bus waiting to take drink off us. The thing that confused everyone was you could get a glass of west coast cooler with ID provide which defeats the purpose of their “dry bar”. Anyways £80 per couple for a 3 course meal and no alcohol is a JOKE.....joke :))))

We called in on spec not having a booking, we opted for a table after being told we would have to wait. The short wait was well worth it, the staff were very pleasant and the well priced meals were delicious.

When entering this restaurant we were offered a window seat, but the blinds were down on the windows, so not the greatest start. The food however was surprisingly good, the chef certainly has talent!

There is an excellent choice of food available here and it is cooked to perfection The staff taking great pride in ensuring that diners are well looked after.

We attended for a family lunch a few weeks ago. Couldn't have been better. The choice and quality of food was second to none and service from Scott and all the staff made the whole visit very enjoyable. We will definitely be back for more.👌

Wednesday 7/8/19 had meal in the bistro, excellent food and service by the wonderful Anthony Brennan who, as always, went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent dining experience. As starter, my husband and I shared the freshly baked breads with truffle butter, olives, oils and sun dried tomatoes, dear son and heir 16 went for his usual chicken wings and they were deemed the nicest EVER, high praise indeed. Mains were steak sandwiches and chips for the lads as always cooked to perfection and exactly as requested, I had the sugar pit bacon chop, served with buttered leeks and caramelised baby apples and a cider jus which was to die for....I am not a fan of the accompanying sweet potato mash but there was no problem exchanging the side for their double cooked thick cut chips which are a dining experience in itself. Suffice to say it all went down a treat and sadly all 3 of us were to full to do justice to the delicious sounding dessert menu and passed on this occasion. Anthony was ably assisted by a younger waitress and a waiter but sadly I did not get their names but their service and attention to detail was beyond reproach, staff obviously happy in their jobs and it shows. We reflected this in their tip as sometimes waiting staff can make or break a dining experience. Well done all round we will be back on any number of occasions to work our way through the rest of the delicious menu...and to sample those desserts. With prices and menus to suit all pockets and tastes the Stormont hotel offers excellence on our very doorstep.

Mi familia y yo llegamos un sábado muy ocupado por la noche y tuvimos una comida maravillosa. ¡Anthony no pudo hacer lo suficiente por nosotros y todos los invitados en el restaurante! Corre para asegurarse de que todos estén bien y realmente hace que toda la experiencia sea amigable y realmente valga la pena la visita. Él va más allá de su rol laboral y, sinceramente, ¡es la razón por la que seguimos regresando! La comida también es de primera clase! ¡100% recomiendan el daube de carne también!

Fuimos a cenar temprano y conseguimos una bonita mesa junto a las ventanas. Nuestro servidor era muy bueno y eficiente, sin embargo, a medida que avanzaba la cena, parecía estar corriendo con otros clientes. Nuestra comida era muy buena y muy bien presentada. Probamos el rarebit, la sopa de pescado, las ensaladas César y Halloumi y varias bebidas. Fue una comida muy buena y los precios eran razonables.

Fueron mucho más allá de lo esperado para responder preguntas y asegurarse de que la noche fuera perfecta. Nuestra comida era increíble. El cordero se desprendió del hueso servido con un delicioso puré. Mi marido tenía el pollo y pastel de hongos silvestres que tenía una salsa encantadora. Lo bueno era que también tenían una deliciosa hamburguesa para mi hijo. Disfrutamos de la cena tanto que nos quedamos para el postre. La crema de limón era cremosa suave deliciosa. Los chicos tenían un brownie horneado en un frasco con compota de cerezas y helado local. ¡Comieron cada bocado! El restaurante es tranquilo y pudimos conversar fácilmente. Las grandes ventanas le permiten disfrutar del vecindario y los cómodos asientos se suman a la experiencia. ¡Gracias por una experiencia tan maravillosa!

We had an evening meal as part of our hotel package and there was a good choice and it was excellent

I ate here both nights of my recent stay at the hotel. The staff were great, though very busy due to a couple of coach parties. The food was superb, with a good selection and at reasonable prices. I had the fish chowder, which was large, filling, piping hot and beautifully flavoured. The fish and chips was also very good.

We enjoyed dinner here and found the waiting staff to be very welcoming and friendly and efficient. The daube beef is excellent had oit before and we were not disappointed. Very flavoursome. Good menu choice and highly recommend a visit for dinner.

Experimentó dos excelentes comidas durante unas vacaciones de primavera en este restaurante. Uno de los mejores currys tailandeses que he probado en el Reino Unido, justo para el paladar local. El personal fue excelente para nuestros huéspedes, y se dejaron llevar por los platos disponibles en el menú.

We came here early on a Saturday evening, hoping that at 5.45, service would be key, and so it was!

There was a reasonable choice of food. The presentation of the food was very good. Food was excellent and well cooked.

Had a lovely 3 course meal in 'LA Scale Bistro'. The staff were always busy but friendly and efficient.

I was here with family on Boxing Day for dinner. Sometimes standards can slip on busy days like Boxing Day but the food was as good as ever and the service was excellent. We were well looked after by Anthony. The prawn starter was really nice and the slow cooked steak was nicely cooked. Whilst it was busy we weren’t squashed in or on top of lots of other tables.

Visited today for a Christmas family lunch. The food was excellent. Loved the traditional turkey and ham - best ever. Special thanks to Anthony who always gives excellent service and looks after everyone very well.

We visited on a Saturday night to spend some vouchers someone had bought for us as a gift. I've previously never been too sure about the Hastings group restaurants with some mixed previous experiences, but this visit definitely proved me wrong.

The food served is absolutely fresh with great flavours. The service is friendly and efficient, I will definitely visit again.

We are locals...we only live a few miles from the hotel and last weekend decided to treat ourselves to a well deserved overnight stay to relax and unwind in the hotel and to have dinner in La Scala . We wanted to do a stand alone review of the La Scala , to spread the word about the delicious food and wonderful service. We cannot praise the standard of the food and the service highly enough.

we had a late lunch , my wife and I shared , Tomoato Bisque type soup , Chicken Curry and Pork Loin slices - WOW - it was delicious - I wish we would have eating there another time or two before we left - the service was professional and skilled and the food was truly incredible......Enjoy !

Last week we had dinner at La Scala Bistro. We had the Green Cous Cous Salad and the Roasted Vegetable Curry. Both were very nice and the portions were generous. Would definitely recommend!

Ate one night, having stayed at the hotel. Food was fresh, excellently prepared and service was friendly without being obsequious. Wine selection also looked very good, but we did not sample it this time.

Mi esposa y yo nos quedamos en el Hotel Stormont y decidimos cenar aquí ya que decidimos no tomar la parte opcional con el grupo de turistas. Tuve un langostino de camarones que estaba bien (soy de Carolina del Sur y estaba acostumbrado a los camarones mejor preparados y más). Mi esposa tenía una ensalada César y pollo al curry que ella disfrutó mucho y tempura de verduras. Teníamos dos camareras y la camarera que trajo nuestra comida no era la que nos atendió. Preguntamos sobre las verduras tempura que finalmente llegaron casi como un postre - - afortunadamente no nos cobraron por esto. Tuve su control deslizante para el postre que consta de tres bolas de helado incluyendo panal (especialidad irlandesa).

Yo, mi novio y su familia comimos aquí recientemente. Es uno de mis lugares favoritos en Belfast y una muy buena opción para comer en East Belfast si quieres evitar el centro de la ciudad.

We celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary at La Scala. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were attentive and gave my folks a lovely anniversary plate and dessert. The meal was delicious and the there were no issues accommodating the kids.

Food quality was top rate. Service was excellent. Friendly helpful staff. Anthony made us feel very welcome.

We had a business lunch here. While the menu for lunch is small, the food is nice and well presented. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Bistro is part of the Stormont Hotel and well located for the city and also on the main route to Co. Down.

The food is fantastic, served by great staff always willing to help out with choices. Not a long weight so all in all good job guys.

I would have always given this restaurant 5 stars in the past but on my recent visit it has dropped one. I like the ambiance of the restaurant itself and the staff are very good but the menu has become a little bit disappointing. They have replaced a few of the starters and main courses and in my opinion the replacements aren’t as good. I still really miss the chicken and sweet potato main course that they used to have and the prawn cocktail starter with fresh wheaten bread. I think if anything it should be the desserts that are updated as the desserts on the menu are quite over priced for what they are and have all been on the menu for quite a while now. Overall it’s a nice restaurant though.

Gran restaurante frente a la entrada de la Finca Stormont. Hay un montón de aparcamiento dentro del hotel y hay una puerta lateral (puerta giratoria) en la zona de La Scala para aquellos con problemas de movilidad.

The atmosphere and surroundings are second to none. Staff are polite and helpful. Food is delicious. Will definitely be having more meeting here.

been to LaScala a few times and I just feel it could and should be so much more than what it is. The restaurant is well laid out, the menu is grand, service is good but the food is just average. Ive had chowder and soup that were piping hot - and I would say had been put in the micro. Twice steaks have been overcooked and I didn't know you could tempura a carrot ... Perhaps a shift to a similar menu like Percy French or Cultra Inn would be better.

We had a great meal tonight at La Scala bistro. We both had soup and the scampi and burger for main - both of which were lovely. The service we received from Anthony (I hope this is the gentleman’s name as forgot to check again on way out) was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and he was so pleasant and welcoming. We look forward to coming back for dinner and maybe staying over in the hotel soon

Went for a birthday party (11 adults,3 kids),which was booked well in advance for 3pm on a Sunday afternoon.The hostess really tried her best,but being on her own really stood no chance,we waited for drinks bar water,which must have been freshened 4times while we waited for wine etc.Food was tasty,unfortunately the wait for both starters and mains pretty much made a mockery of both the chef,and as I said the hostesses best efforts.If a restaurant,especially a hotel restaurant can't find enough staff to cover a 3pm Sunday booking then a suggestion would be don't accept the booking!

We went to La Scala on 18/02/18 for the dine with wine menu. The deal is £20 per person for 2 courses and a glass of wine or you can pay an extra £8.00 and have a bottle. The food was very good, there was no smaller portions because you opted for the deal. Unfortunately I didn't get the gentleman's name that served us but he was very friendly and helpful, the girls serving were also the same, nothing was too much trouble. I can recommend the lamb shank it was delicious. We would definitely recommend trying here and will definitely go back

The menu was varied, food excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Wine Flights which allow you to sample various types of wine is a great idea.

Food was great, service second to none. Without question well worth a visit. After you meal you can even get a free rubber duck to take away.

Cuando la familia visita desde Inglaterra siempre vamos a La Scala para una comida o a la hora del almuerzo o por la noche. El menú es variado, y las comidas son deliciosas y satisfacer a todos los miembros del grupo, incluyendo los niños.

Normally I have a good meal here but on my most recent visit it was rather disappointing. The burger that I had for main course was quite dried up. It's also disappointing to see that there is no longer the chicken option available and sweet potatoes are no long available. Overall it's not the best value for money in my view.

Had lunch here recently, service was slow for this time of day, it it was in the evening with a good companion it would be a lot more pleasant. Food was really good, I had the fish and chips, one of my favourites and this one ranked among the best I've eaten, batter was nice and light, fish was fresh and not overlooked, chips were perfect. Seems like a simple thing but the vinegar tasted like the proper chip shop version, a welcome substitute for the mediocre stuff usually served. Had coffee afterwards, again excellent. Apart from the rather slow service it was a very good meal.

I wanted a quick tasty meal, something I've had many times at the Stormont. Salmon is my regular dish of choice and rarely disappointed in La Scala. On this occasion, it looked brown and dark green and tasted similar, it was a strange combination of a bed of beans, all brown and Salmon hidden under crispy kale. The salmon wasn't as tasty or seasoned as previous....Please take this off the menu. skinny chips in garlic butter and slightly over cooked broccoli didn't help the meal. This felt like I'd made a poor choice in a normally great place. Servers were awesome as always. It will take a while too return which is a shame

As I was staying at the Stormont hotel, La Scala was a lazy choice, it is situated in the hotel. The good news is, it was the right choice. There is a good choice of classic meals with a lot of locally sourced meat and produce. I went for the pork, two ways, it was well cooked and very tasty. Good food, on your doorstep if you are staying at the Stormont.

Food was lovely, tasty, hot and fresh however the service needs some serious attention. I was told they were busy when I arrived however over half the bistro was empty and some of the other tables just needed a clean and reset.Took a while for my order to be taken and even longer after I'd finished my meal to pay the bill.

Dined here with my family on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy when we took our seats, but not overly so...The service was extremely slow. In all, it took at least 2 and a half hours for us to order, be served and eat a main course each and a few desserts between us.Whilst on this occasion we were in no rush as we had no plans for after dinner, I would imagine that the slow service would be frustrating in other circumstances, e.g. if you were intending to go out elsewhere after the meal, to catch a movie, etc.The menu seemed kind of limited. There were hardly any chicken options, which we found odd.The food was good, although the portions were quite small for the price charged. I had the steak ciabatta sandwich and found (after such a long wait for my main course) that I still felt hungry even after finishing everything on my plate (a.k.a 'trendy' wooden slab).Overall, I wouldn't rush back. There are loads of superior restaurants nearby.The prices in La Scala Bistro, to me, don't justify the small portions and the slow service. Although, I do have to add that the host was apologetic for the delay, which was appreciated.

Had a lovely experience at the la Scala bistro. Staff were friendly Michael, Darren and Craig. Great service didn't have to wait long and staff were over making sure everything was ok. Food was delicious the chefs on that day Niall and Dylan did a great job with the food. Would definitely recommend La Scala Bistro

Repas en famille car nous dormions à l'hôtel. Personnel vraiment très sympathique, aux petits soins pour les enfants ; et repas très bon et copieux. On recommande !

I was here again recently with family. The service is always very good although we were disappointed to hear that zuzanna was leaving as she was always excellent. The food great as always although I noticed that there was no longer the chicken with sweet potatoes option on the menu as it was always my favourite!

I Ordered an item stated on their menu and was brought out the item that was not advertised the item was low stock or not available when I ordered but I was not told this when I had ordered it, I mentioned to the waiter that it was missing items he said that the cook had given me more to compensate for the missing items this was not included (true I should have sent it back) but I was too hungry at the time, I asked the waiter if I could be given a discount for the order was so light and I had been there 2 weeks before and gotten the same item so I know what it was like with the same person who also commented the the order was not right. The waiter said nothing to the person in charge who was on site and I said to him again as we were leaving as we got tired of sitting in front of the food dishes and he gave me only 10% off a 17 pound item and that was only because I insisted can't help feeling if I was not who I was (a foreigner)and if I was say my mother in-law (a local and far more unforgiving then me)they would have made a better effort. I am very disappointed that the food and the service have gotten so bad there and we have been going for years and I have recommended it to others and brought others there as well I guess those days are over time to find a new local place to go to and stop recommending it to others as well. So sad really.

Had an evening meal at La Scala with my elderly Aunt. The manager Anthony was excellent. Anthony helped my Aunt get into the chair and was quick to supply a cushion when she complained of being uncomfortable. At the end of the meal, whilst walking out, my Aunt struggled to walk. Anthony very quickly made sure we were ok, obtained a wheelchair and assisted us out to the car. I found Anthony service and assistance throughout the meal and afterwards were second to none. In addition, the food was excellent- we both ate the curry and it was full of flavour. Well done, both the Stormont - La Scala Bistro and Anthony.

After a fairly long drive up from Sligo via the Giant's Causeway we decide to try this restaurant rather than go all the way into the City. We were attracted by the TV screen behind the reception desk that advertised a meal deal of two courses for £18 so we asked for a table for two. The waiter brought up two menus and explained the choices but I noticed that the price on the menu showed £20 for two courses. I queried this with the waiter who said that this was the price but when I took him over to the reception desk and showed him the advert on the screen behind the desk, he agreed to charge just the £18 each as was shown on the screen.The food was OK at best - the curry I had didn't really bare any resemblance to any Indian food I've ever had but was edible and my Wife's food was just OK so we cannot whole heartedly recommend this restaurant for its food. In addition, when the Maitre D brought the bill I noticed that we were still being charged £20 each in spite of what the waiter had agreed. The Maitre D argued that this was the price and that the waiter had no right to agree to the lower price, but when I took him and showed him the screen behind the reception desk he huffily said that it should not have been switched on and begrudgingly charged the £18 each. When I said that he could now put the £4 difference into the gratuity jar, he rather offhandedly refused saying "it wasn't necessary, we don't need the money". Sorry, but we cannot recommend this restaurant - better off getting the bus into the city.

Staying at the Stormont Hotel so tried the bistro for a light easy meal and it was just that. The vegetable soup was tasty as a starter. However it was the lightly breaded plaice, hand cut chips and the excellent mushy peas that were outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly, professional and knowledgeable restaurant staff. The food (Scampi and Duck for starters, Chicken Curry and Steak Sandwich for main course and finished with a delicious Lemongrass Creme Brûlée for desserts. Food was exceptional, fresh prepared and truly delicious. Wonderful experience definitely will be back.

I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights using La Scala as dinner venue. Could not say enough: starting from very helpful, patient and professional staff through nice surroundings and finish with first class food. Seafood chowder (£8) served in Belfast bap is really exeptional. Duo of pork (£14) delicious, breast of duck (£15) very yummy. If you fan of steak Côte d Bouf on the bone (14 oz for £28) will full you up. Choice of desserts (£6 each exept cheese board for £8). Highly recommend

Visited on a weekday evening for dinner and we could not recommend it enough. The menu is seasonal and uses local produce, which really impressed me. Our server was clearly very experienced at her job and knew the menu by heart. I could see she had rapport with other regular diners and this pleased me, for I left with the impression that customer relations were valued here.The food was fantastic, very well presented and absolutely delicious. We found the bill to be very reasonable for the food we ordered and left more than satisfied at the end of the night. It was challenging finding the correct entrance to the hotel from the main road, and ended up walking on the road as we could not find a footpath. We also had trouble finding the entrance to the restauraunt, but it was clearly signposted that renovations were taking place so it was understandable. Unless these renovations have been completed as of today, you can find the restaurant through the main entrance to the hotel, which faces away from the roadside entrance. It is to the left of the reception, down the stairs and the second right on the corridor.

Enjoyed breakfast and evening meal here during outR stay at the hotel. Service was excellent. Beautiful food and sourroundings. Will come back here again.

Enjoyed a very nice meal in a well appointed dining room with efficient professional staff. It was slightly too noisy on that particular evening but that was because of a large birthday celebration at a table close to mine. Although parking at the venue is free there is quite a walk from most of the carpark to the dining room. This however could have been due to renovations at the hotel. A pleasant enough evening with good food and a well thought out menu.

Ate in here two nights. The staff are very friendly and attentive yet will give you your space when required. The food is prepared and presented nicely with adequate portions. Prices are slightly above average and it would be good to see a few choices under the £10 area.Overall a nice meal.

You must visit this place for lunch or dinner. We eat there 3 times over the space of 2 days and where not disappointed once. Beautiful food and great service.

If you are around Belfast, book yourself in and enjoy La Scala at the Stormont Hotel!For starters we chose pea & mint soup and scampi. Both more than exceeded expectation, simple, beautifully presented, perfect seasoning. For mains we chose the two porks and the half chicken. Again on paper, simple fare, yet it was the combinations, the sauces, the clean eating and perfect cooking. Finally for desert, we chose to share the Apple Creme Brulee. Lovely combination with the Apple balancing the sweetness of the sugar glaze. And all including a lovely bottle of Chilean Rose coming to 72 pounds. So tasty and great value.

Super meal, table for 4 at the window. Meal was excellent and service was friendly. We all enjoyed our meals and then on to the Belfast Opera house.

Went to La Scala for lunch just before Christmas and the food was great as always! Highly recommend!

I was here with family on Boxing Day. Even though it was busy the service was excellent as always! In particular, zusanna, Anthony and Monika! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Whilst some things are a little over priced, this is still a restaurant worth visiting!

Had heard good things about this place and decided to pay a visit and see if it was as good as we had been told.The answer is YES! Beautiful steaks, cooked to perfection and the ambience and superb service meant that we had a wonderful meal and will definitely pay a return visit.

Beautifully prepared and served food in a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended. Wine was excellent as was the Guinness!

Loved the steak - 3 of us had the Himalayan steak - rare, medium and well done - all were excellent - pity I couldn't have gluten free fries with it.

With a friend we ate here for the first time having previously been told it was nice. Nice us an understatement ! Atmosphere & decor were very pleasant and the staff extremely friendly .The food was really good. The portions are quite big but very tasty. I had the seafood chowder starter which was better than Pier 39 in San Francisco ! Brilliant. The main course was also very good . All the food was hot.The service was first class and Michael McGinn and his team were spot on. Highly recommended. Steve b.

Not great service, more than a little understaffednot a massive menu... opted for a pasta carbonara baked dish, more like an expensive mac n cheese. But the wild rocket and parmesan salad was quite good, (can you get that wrong?)Disappointing foccacia and there was no olive oil to drizzle

We visited la Scala again on sat evening table for four at six thirty .good menu choice and prices really good service a very nice relaxing atmosphere will be back soon

We live in a small apartment, so we always book our guests into the Stormont Hotel and have meals there whenever possible. This time we went for the lamb tagine which seemed to involve an entire sheep, really tasty and mouthwateringly tender. It came with a timbale of couscous which was light and slightly dry (just right) followed by an Armagh apple crème brûlée which was a gross violation of my weight-loss programme, but, hey. The wine is always good, nice ambience, not too crowded, and the staff couldn't be more polite.

We had dinner here last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. The food was absolutely delicious, portions good, beautifully presented with obvious attention to detail. Service was friendly and efficient. We shall most definitely return, many thanks.

Another fantastic meal here! We were very well looked after by Anthony and Suzanna who are both excellent and never stop! I always love the prawn cocktail starter and the sweet potatoes are always great! The atmosphere is always nice and peaceful and the restaurant is nice and clean looking. The choice on the menu is pretty extensive too. Personally I think the steaks are priced slightly on the expensive side but everything else is reasonable enough. Definitely worth giving this place a go though!

Friendly, comfortable, clean, polite and great meal portions. 15 minutes from city centre with great views of Stormont Estate.

This hotel is part of Irelands Hastings Hotel Group and is on the outskirts of Belfast directly opposite the Stormont Parliament buildings.I was there on business with a few chocolatiers to encourage some local artisans. lots of local food on the menu Foods, a little pricey but excellent, staff, excellent.Well done hasting I hope to be back

Food tasty & lovely menu - good choices! Good variety of starters & main dishes. Presentation was excellent.

We had a lovely lunch here yesterday. Very tasty, good portions, well presented. Service was great, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Nice surroundings.

My wife and I visited on Saturday at six nice friendly greeting shown to our table at the window nice views nice modern restaurant .food and service both really good .menu had lots of choice all well priced will definitely be back soon
