Always been happy with the food and service here, chips are always crispy and fresh! Regulars here on a Sunday. Esther was really over the moon with her free cake! ☺️ it made her day!

Order in and waited, polite service and quick enough. The stroganoff was good, the Chicken Gyro was not… over toasted pita which I didn’t eat. Chopped cheap chicken, salad consisted of sliced tomato, some red onion and cucumber. Not what I expected in comparison with other Gyros I have had. Needs massive improved and a good clean up to keep up with other better takeaways in Beverley.

My wife and myself decided to give La Scala a try as it is local. I had a meat feast calzone and she a meat feast pizza. ‘Meat feast’ - that’s a joke! A number of assorted bits of tasteless gristle on or in revolting stodgy semicooked dough. Needless to say most of it ended up in the brown bin. One to avoid possibly the worst takeaway meal ever!

We have been using La Scala for the past 12 months, always good and fast service. Pizzas are very good, I always go for the bolognese pizza 🍕.

Since the new ownership from a few years ago, the quality has gotten worse and worse with cheap ingredients and lack of skill. We now order from Cottingham's La Scala that maintaines the old good quality.

Not wood pizza oven as advertised. Kiev calzonne, hardly any flavour of garlic to many mushrooms and cheap wet ham, made the inside soft and hardly cooked the dough, inside as all to wet. Chips best part of the takeaway.

Avoid like the plague!!! Portions are awful, the food was grim and best of all… if they ask you do you want salad and sauce you automatically get chili and garlic! Even if you dont like them! Dreadful!!

Usually love this place, very good food and always yummy but today had a long black hair in my sauce! was disappointed and disgusted. Edit, after trying to just eat some of the chips, i found another hair in those too.

Made an order on foodhub from Lascala paid for it had the text to confirm my order and told it will be with me in 45 mins , only to receive a text after to say sorry too far for delivery and I’ll get my £30 back in 3-5 working days !!! I put my postcode in the search bar on food hub only 4 take always come up one being Lascala ! . I then called them to be spoken to rudely and had the phone put down on me so I called again and second time they put it down on me ! Do not order from these ppl unless you’ve spoken to them on the phone they’ll take your money and make you wait to get it back absolute joke !!! I’d give no star rating if I could ! Me and my wife was what “ nah pal you took the phone from your staff and started raising your voice over my partners so I took the phone and when your taking my money and shouting at customers I’ll talk to you how I want pal but if a warrior on the keyboard and a phone . I’ll call in next time !!!

As usual food and service were excellent. I cannot find any fault whatsoever. Such a range of well cooked, flavourful food on offer that it's hard to choose.

Pre ordered for collection but not ready until 10 minutes after requested time. Donner meat stone cold and had obviously been sat whilst they finished the rest of the order. Avoid

An last minute takeaway pizza for 2 which was half vegetarian, half meat which they were happy to oblige. A nice pizza and large chips in chip spice. Not the first and not the last time we will use La Scala

I know others have had a positive experience but perhaps different staff on tonight? Donner kebab overcooked, naan bread hard and chips left too long to steam, sort, unappetising. Portion sizes small and mean. Overall a very disappointing experience. Will not be ordering from here again!

Chicken burger dry, pitta bread stale, donner meat overcooked, chips rubbery and unappetising like they’d been left under the lights too long. Portions small. Chill sauce tastes like tomato ketchup with a few chilli flakes thrown in. A real disappointment. Avoid!

Really good pasta, no problems with delivery, guy who dropped it off was very polite. Even got a free garlic bread which was really nice too.

Ordered a pizza and a donna kebab.Delivery was fast so that's a plus.The kebab was ok but the pizza was overcooked and it was like eating a salt pot.Far too salty.I'm not one to complain about food usually but this was definitely below par.

Really good takeaway Other reviews on here are misleading as we haven’t had a bad takeaway ever - perhaps had 20 orders over 3 or 4 years and always nice tasty food, always on time and I think I have always received the correct orders.Staff s as Leasys nice and helpful - maybe all the reviewers have been going to the Rochdale la scala as the Beverley la scala is absolutely fine, no complaints everI think some people just like to complain…

It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but food is tasty. Probably won’t go back though just because of the price.

Ordered a collection , person on phone seemed uninterested in our requests . Collected food at 9:50pm got home and it was no what we had order . Drove straight back . Got there just after 10pm and all locked up so that’s our night ruined . I have to ask how do you clean your kitchen that quickly .?You can have your food back tomorrow night . Very unhappy customers

Nice burger. Reminded me of the dirty burgers you could get around town on the way back from a good night out. Took them more than half an hour to cook it though. Certainly not fast food.

In the last few months we have had 3 pizzas. We always order the same toppings but each time the pizza we receive is different. First time - no fresh chillis, second one - really good, thought we had finally found the perfect pizza, last night - no fresh chillis but presume they had used chilli oil as the pizza was greasy & too spicy. How difficult is it to standardise a pizza - if you want an extra topping they charge but if they omit a topping tough luck! Think we will try another pizza company.

Since using La Scala, we have been plagued by spam text messages from them. We have never given permission for this. We have asked to be removed from records, but this has not been done. No respect for GDPR rules - avoid this place like the plague!

We live in Rochdale and we have an Italian Restaurant near us called La Scala, during covid they have started doing takeaway, It was my wifes 41st and decided on the 13th Feb to order from La scala for our evening meal. Having placed the order for collection I walked in to be told the order has not been placed and that they dont have a website (its phone orders only) so after getting back home we investigated who we had paid. It turned out to be LA Scala (Beverley 80 miles away) We asked for a refund from the restaurant in Beverley to be told No, the food was waiting for collection which in any other circumstances would be fair enough. FEW POINTS TO RAISE HERE. 1. WHY is La Scala in Beverley coming up as the 2nd link when you type in La Scala rochdale takeaway menu. 2. WHY doesnt it show at the restaurant our address which we had to put in before making the order, then they would have seen Rochdale and this could then be flagged up, (The Restaurant have since told us this is an error on there app when selecting collection it doesnt bring up the customers address, only on delivery orders. 3. WHY, if they know about this problem do they not have on the ordering page there address or at least a note at the top to say you are ordering from LA Scala Beverley. ( At my local La Scala they told me this had happened twice so far this week) yet Beverley have done nothing to rectify this and continue to take ppls money which during lockdown has not been free flowing. My wife is Nhs worker which the restaurant know as she registered with her nhs email and they are still passing the book. I cant comment on the food, I hope it wouldve been beautiful but obviously travelling 160ml round trip for a calzone, 3 pizzas and a kebab wouldve been abit excessive. WE HAVE BEEN OFFERED NO REFUND OR NOTHING.

La Scala has been my favourite and go to takeaway for pizza for five years. I've always recommended it to friends and described it as "an authentic Italian restaurant where you can't sit in", rather than a "takeaway" as I feel that calling it a takeaway doesn't do it justice. However over the years it's just become a rubbish takeaway. The menu has moved more towards a bog standard kebab shop that you'd go to on the way home from a night out. This is also reflected in the quality of the ingredients used, which has clearly become poorer and poorer over the years. Our order tonight clearly used low quality Mozzarella and Mascarpone (the staff had to check if they had any Mascarpone, which used to feature in several pizzas here) and the pizza bases were suspiciously perfectly round, clearly not hand made anymore. Sadly I won't be ordering from here again.

My husband and I have been returning customers to La Scala take away for the past 5 years. What we loved about it was the fact that it offered quality Italian food and not the typical take away food you would buy from a kebab shop on your way home after a night out. Over the years, we have seen it slowly transform it's food into just that. You might as well save your money and go to any old kebab shop because it's just no good anymore. What a shame we used to love getting a take away from here. Really disappointed and we will not be ordering from La Scarla anymore. ** EDIT AFTER REPLY FROM LA SCARLA** The pizza bases where like cardboard and didn't seem to be handmade like they used to. The cheese tasted low quality, the tomato garlic bread was not nice at all. Unfortunately, it's been getting progressively worse. In conclusion, it just doesn't taste like it used to. It's a shame really as it was our favourite take away in Beverley.

We put an order in to be collected at half past 5, beef stroganoff for my husband and chicken kebab for me when he gets home which is 3 miles away the chicken kebabs were missing, I got straight on the phone and was told to hold on before I even said anything I held on for 15 minutes and in the meantime my husband drove back I put the phone down as it was quite obvious I had been forgotten about, I rang back again and it was obvious that they didn’t believe me so the manager came on and said to me that was one hour and a half ago this was 10 past 6 when I was speaking to him and my husband picked up our food at 5.30 so disgusted with this and it spoilt what was supposed to be a nice evening, the food when we did get it was average, this used to be a really good takeaway I wished I’d read the reviews beforehand

Have ordered from here for a long time and used be be brilliant , but recently is really hit and miss. Our latest order was really very poor with hardly any topping on one of the pizzas that we know is usually much better. Onion rings were soggy and inedible. Kebabs are a total waste of money and could make better at home. Will probably order from elsewhere from now on as you never know it if will be good or really bad!

Today I had the worst experience given to me by a man running la scala in beverley. After taking food home I opened what was supposed to be a carbonara to realise it had beef in it. Having allergies to beef I would never order it and thankfully I realised what it was before eating it. When I phoned the establishment I was told it’s ‘beef bacon’. Now I am no Gorgon Ramsey but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t exist and if his knowledge of food is the same as his cooking we are in danger. I was asked how I’d like this resolving so I said a new dish with the correct ingredients. When I arrived to pick it up I felt because of the lack of acknowledgement to what had happened I should inform the manager. When I told him this could have been a lot worse and it’s dangerous to serve food that’s not listed in the ingredients he started laughing at me. At this point I felt so disappointed that what was once ran great and known as one of the best in the town was being run by people who can’t tell bacon from beef and don’t even know how to make a simple carbonara. His final words were ‘I dunno what you want me to say, sorry?’. This man is not fit to run a food establishment. I will never return here. You cannot have a successful business with attitude like that from management! If this was resolved differently and the manager resolved this correctly I wouldn’t be writing this review.

Nice food, put half of it was missing.....

Had quite a few takeaways from here in recent months, normally great service and lovely food. However, I ordered today when the take away opened, waited 1hour 15 mins for it to be delivered, the delivery driver didn’t have any change so (conveniently) ended up with a tip, good was cold and then when I cut into my calzone pizza it was the wrong order (I got meat feast instead of Kiev). So disappointed after looking forward to my la scala takeaway. I’m hoping I had an unlucky experience and this isn’t the new normal service from the takeaway.

I have just got a calzone and garlic bread and a few pizzas and chips from here. I was feeling a bit iffy with all the bad reviews it had had but it was absolutely lovely. The best I have had in Beverley and I’ve lived here 11 yrs. they forgot my chips but the driver went straight back for them and we had them in 5 mins. So all I would say try it and make your own mind up.

If I could give 0 out of five I would! I am absolutely appalled by the service I have received tonight and had I have previously read the comments on here I NEVER would have ordered from this establishment! Firstly on ordering the member of staff on the phone failed to establish or offer options of sides for the meal. My partner, not knowing the options, assumed he needed to order a side of fries (extra which was in needed). The food then arrived and the garlic bread was FLAT cold and was so thickly coated in oil that it tasted like I was chewing a tasteless, cold piece of cardboard left to soak in grease over night! The chicken dish we ordered had 8 small chunks or chicken which wouldn’t have amounted to a single breast, despite being priced at £8.00. The donner meat for the kebab was also cold. The rest of the meal was acceptable (chips and chicken nuggets for the kids). I am not one to complain but wanted to pass on my comments so that they would have honest feedback to help improve if needed. I was greeted by a young girl who stated she had taken the order, accepted that she hadn’t made the options clear and apologised (fab!) She then passed me to the manager to deal with the other comments. The manager told me “garlic bread is always cold, it is meant to be soaked in oil” I explained I had had many garlic breads which had been delivered hot from other establishments in the past. His response was “whatever, nothing I can do about it anyway” followed by hanging up the phone!! I am absolutely appalled! Never have I ever spoken to such a rude manager!!

We ordered a meat feast pizza, the prawn and bacon arrabiata and a spaghetti linguini. All the food was very nice and has been for the years we have been going there. There pizzas are especially good with a quality base. Delivery was a it longer than usual but I'm guessing that's because of increased orders as of lockdown. Great food would recommend. I'm surprised at the poor reviews.

Yesterday at 4.30 I ordered for delivery at 6p.m. At 5.15 I was telephoned to advise that they did not have the ingredients (peppercorns) for one of the dishes so could it be substituted. We agreed on the new dish and confirmed the full order. The girl on the phone repeated it incorrectly so I explained again what the order was. She then repeated it correctly. At 6.30 when my order had not arrived I telephoned to be advised it was on its way. It arrived 10 minutes later. On opening the bags I found the order to be incorrect. This was very annoying as this was a birthday treat as we were unable to go out to eat. To make matters worse the spicy tomato bread ordered as a side was so spicy it was inedible. It was that bad you could not even taste the tomato. I telephoned the shop with my concerns to be asked " what am I supposed to do about it and the bread was spiced correctly" in quite rude manner. This take away used to be one of the best in the town and I now understand it has recently changed hands. With so many excellent establishments in the area maybe they should look at their customer service. Never again!

Used this place a number of times. Delivery is poor. Pizza often Luke warm rather than hot. The quality and taste is good but if you're hungry go elsewhere

Pizza taste and texture is just what you would expect from a high quality Beverley pizza shop, some flaws in that the Pizza tak s a long time to be made and usually comes out overly greasy but good all round :)

Since it changed hands the standard of food has fallen significantly. The pasta I had was swimming in oil - inedible. After many years of enjoying good Italian food I can say I won’t be going anymore.

Ordered two BBQ mix few months back was dreadful, they said next time we order we’d get a discount. Tried again tonight had no notes about discount so paid again for it to turn up. BBQ mix once again disgusting. the 2 pieces of beef was just fat. Pizza cold i will never from here again. used to be amazing

Popped in to order a mixed kebab priced at £13. Was told it didn't come with chips so ordered them separately £1.70. Was told it would be 10 mins. After 25mins wait the food was ready. I drove home 10 mins drive to find there was no doner meat and only 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of lamb. Rung them back for them to say could we go back to collect what was missing. No I can't please deliver they replied it would be an hour. Total disgrace. I returned all the food for a full refund which took another 25 mins to happen as the manager didn't have a clue how to do a refund. Will never use again. AVOID

Nice food served in a friendly environment available as takeaway or delivered to your home. If collecting I would advise ringing your order through to avoid wait for it to be cooked

This was our first visit, as we don’t do pizza often and it’s the first Italian takeaway I have come across (not just pizza).Well, I had a pizza pollo picante and some fries, we will be back.The pizza was fresh and flavoursome, the fries had some sort of spice on them, amazing.I will definitely return more often for a pizza, and would be happy to try other things on the menu if all are at this standard.Well done.

Disappointing!! Decided on a takeaway for the family. The Bolognese pizza had hardly any meat on, could have been past to a vegetarian, very disappointing!! The seafood tagliatelle had no seafood in at all except from 5 little prawns, not 3 not 6 just 5. Very disappointing!! BBQ chicken Pizza was tasteless, yet again very disappointing. Why is La Scala takeaway dearer than other Takeaways??? Not sure as to why??? we as a family would not be back in a hurry!!

The gamberetti pasta was excellent last night, the sauce was great I would like to know what the secret is.I have enjoyed the pizza in the past tend to ask for them well done. The food always seems to have been made with slight better quality ingredients tha some take outs.

I ordered a 16 inch pizza for me to collect but when I got there it was 12 inches this is the second time this happens to me and when I ask then they say they didn’t have anymore 16 inch pizzas I don’t understand why they don’t tell me this before I collect the pizza.

We used to love this place a couple of years ago but haven’t tried it since it came under new management. Looking at the reviews on here after we had paid for our food and were sat in the waiting area we thought ‘what have we done’

Ordered tonight, collected food we live 1 minute away. Had to wait as they got our order wrong. When we got it home (literally 1 minute), it was cold and no sauces! They accused the hubby of being late, despite him having to wait in shop as it was not ready, said sauces were in bag, no they weren't. Haggled about replacing it! This place has plummeted down hill since new ownership. Use to be amazing but afraid to say I will not be going here again. Give it a swerve folks, Chinese as a treat it is from now on

We have been regular customers for years but recently it has gone SO downhill. We’ve tried to stay loyal to support La Scala as a local business, rather than opting for other nationwide pizza businesses, but tonight was the last time.

Terrible dry tasteless pizzas. Waste of money put it in the bin. What happened, this place used to serve amazing food.. Won't be back. Don't waste your money. Obviously under new management

Asked for a chicken and pepperoni pizza only. 16”... explicitly clear that it was to be ONLY those two ingredients on top of the tomato and chicken. I get home, pick it up and the pizza burns my mouth it’s got that much chilli oil on, there is also mushrooms on it and on slice no. 2 for me I find something that resembles flegm. And they tried to charge £16.15 for a 16” pizza and fries.

This used to be one of our favourite takeaways as a treat however the food has deterioted substantially. Very disappointed with our last food order. Such a shame.

I rang to order a dish that said Gluten free on the menu, it became apparrent that I had an old menu. I read out what it said on the menu and the girl on the phone said what's it wa on the new menu. I ordered rice with it and said I am guessing out of rice, chips or potato the rice would be GF. She agreed. The order came and it was mixed with Linguine. I rang and asked what they had said me as it didn't look GF and I had to be careful. She asked out load and a male voice said yes it is GF. I started eating it and quite at a speed becuse I was so ungrateful. The phone rang and it was them, the chef had said he Linguine was GF, sorry and hung up, no offer of anything else or a refund. I obveriously had to stop eating it but know what I have eaten will be enough for me to suffer for it, I'm already feeling sick. I will never use them again, so dangerous. I looked for an email address to complain but website down.

We’ve ordered from here for the past 8 years and used to love it! Unfortunately it’s gone down hill, food is hit and miss, and service isn’t up to much either! Used to be the best take away in Beverley now it’s one of the worst! Sort it out lascala

Sad to be giving a less than positive review after I'd heard good things about the pizza here. After waiting over 20 minutes in the take away for a kid's size Marguerita pizza, I wish I hadn't. The topping was a tasteless plastic gloop and the base, dry and over cooked. Never again. ( On the positive side, the girls taking orders were cheerful and pleasant.

Under new owner as of last week doesn't seem as good anymore

Just found a hair lurking inside my salad after waiting over an hour and 10 for delivery. They couldn't even throw in a free garlic bread or something when the delivery was so slow. Not impressed!

I don't like the male owners they think they know it all , they gave me the wrong meal & when they eventually swapped my food back to what I originally ordered I was owed some money back , but I wasn't refunded . My daughter got diarrahea from a chicken pizza that we bought from la scala , so if I were you I would avoid this place , I don't go to Lascala anymore.

I ordered a pasta and a pizza...

Forgot my order even though I was sat right in front of them. Had to wait 35 minutes for soggy pizza. No spice on the Pollo picante. Go to Docle Vita instead. Much better.

La Scala is a charming take away in Beverley. The food is mad delicious. I had the pizza cone (loved it), boyfriend had linguine ai gamberetti and garlic bread. We shared the strawberry & Nutella pizetta, it was gorgeous!

We ordered pizza at 7.20. By 8.20 they were "out for delivery" at 8.45 they arrived. Sent them back we could have walked there and back twice in the time it took them to be delivered!!! Third time they have let us down. Will not be ordering again.

Generally above average takeaway. Always a 20min wait, so suggest ringing order through before collection or get it delivered. Pizza bases are Italian style, and good. Many other popular Italian dishes also (Polo Espinachi is one of my favourites!). Gave 4 stars only because they have got the order slightly wrong (silly stuff like putting seasoning on the fries when asked for none, or putting the wrong dip/sauce in).

Bloody love this takeaway! Definitely the best in Beverley. I usually use the local takeaway to near where I live so moving to Molescroft, I tried La Scala. Pizzas are so well made and tasty and the pastas are AMAZING! Best Garlic Bread I've ever tasted...from anywhere haha. Staff are always so smiley and friendly. Definitely a brilliant takeaway. Tonight I had Junior Tortellini Con Prosciutto but changed to Penne pasta, they are very accommodating to changes and a junior portion is always so filling, and the cheesy garlic bread and I am so stuffed!

As an older women approaching her 60s I have searched many years to find, the perfect pizza. Region to region, town to town, alley to alley and alas no luck. Until I retired and moved to Molescroft in Beverley. As I was clearing out the house I sat down, exhausted, wondering when my next satisfying meal would be. A slight breeze caused a scrap of paper to land on my lap and behold La Scala had been born. I ordered a standard margarita pizza expecting to be as dissatisfied as I was when with my late husband but I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived at my door in record timing, piping hot like it had just left the oven. The cheese was marvelous and the tomato evenly spread and rich. It never disappoints and is now my go to takeaway on a Friday night after Bingo. It's a Yes from me!

Had pizza and chips here the other night, was pleasantly surprised at how the chips were so... Well, chippy. And the pizza... what can I say, it was one of the nicest topping covered dough circles I've ever eaten. 10 points to griffyndor!

Ordered a large pizza with a bit of garlic oil, arrived home and omg, Car seat covered in greeze a hand full of cheese in a pile, it wasnt dropped or mishandled Call shop offered me a refund or another cooked pizza, its a 6 mile trip so couldn't be bothered My first time here and its a shame as its my last. See for yourselves just look at the box I can't even puck up a slice 😤 sorry guys a free pizza another nite would of be sufficient.

Had the most beautiful beef stroganoff six months ago. Delicious, restaurant quality. Reordered tonight expecting to be the same. it was nothing short of inelible. Thick Bisto gravy with a few bits of beef in. So salty and disgusting. Will never order again.
