I would like to say a huge thank you to Flora for such fantastic service. She was so welcoming and attentive, and made our evening. The food was delicious, however we found the veal a a little over cooked so we mentioned this to our waitress who promptly offered a replacement dish. Apart from this, the pasta dishes were delicious and I would highly recommend them, especially the carbonara. Thank you again Flora ❤️

La piazetta If you fancy some top notch Italian food in the Petersfield or surrounding area then La Piazetta is the place to come. Old style restaurant with low wooden ceiling beams it definitely has character. The menu is wide and varied catering for all tastes be it pasta, risotto, pizza, meat dishes etc. Everything that we ordered was delicious and the bill was reasonable too. Well worth a visit

A genuine Italian restaurant with excellent food from a good menu together with the traditional Italian greeting and service. Can be a bit noisy at busy times making conversation sometimes difficult.

I eat here today with my mother and her friend. Delightful restaurant. Very attentive service with kindness and understanding for my 86 year old mother. The food was beautiful, so tasty. The prices were very good. A fabulous meal and we will be back very soon Thank you so much

We had a lovely meal here for my dad's birthday. Our only complaint was that it was absolutely boiling in there, and the air conditioning wasn't on. Lovely food and service was good. Would return.

Visited on a busy Friday and the staff were fantastic! So prompt and polite they showed us straight to our table and our food was out within minutes of ordering. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere with a beautiful Tudor beam interior. We both had pizzas, the Caprino and the Toscana which were delicious and a very good size for the price. For dessert the blackcurrant sorbet and the affogato were high in quality and flavour. I really enjoyed the night and it is somewhere I would definitely be visiting again!

Very very good. The food was excellent, every part of the meal was well flavoured and balanced, the wines were a great match. The staff were absolutely brilliant, always attentive, well informed and incredibly helpful. The waitress was very helpful with gluten free, checking with the chef and well informed. This is a must if you are in the area 13 - july-2024 Once again an amazing meal. The dishes are well presented, flavoursome and well portioned. Again attentive to gluten free, the staff came to inform me of potential cross contamination. The staff were again very helpful and attentive and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food on offer. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant and definitely still worth the trip.

I go to this little gem every now and then but have never left a review, but I think I shouldn't gatekeep this great restaurant any longer. The risotto special (mushroom and thinly sliced beef) last night was exceptional and the prawn starter was beautiful and is always a go-to for me. My friends all enjoyed their meals too and we have a lovely relaxing evening. The staff were attentive but discreet, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The food came out hot and fairly quickly too, which was welcomed by our party as we well all quite hungry! Book early as I would say you would be lucky to get a table as a walk-in. My only criticism would be they close fairly early but it would never stop me dining here. I guess this way the staff get home at a more reasonable hour, which is not a bad thing.

We had an amazing meal, the staff were very friendly. The food was all really good, in particular it was so nice to see so many vegan and vegetarian options, so much better than chain options in the town. Everyone was pleased with their food, service was excellent, I would highly recommend.

Although the service was really very good the food was probably one of the worse attempts at Italian food that it’s ever been my misfortune to try. I took the food home for my dog and even he wouldn’t eat it! Very very poor! Avoid!

Delicious!! Pasta and pizza is excellent. Highlight: Mushroom Risotto!!! We got the gnocchi truffle pasta which was to die for, and pizza which was totally delicious Recommend this highly, better than other pizza places in Petersfield, definitely worth a try. Ordered a fillet steak pizza but didn't taste a bit like fillet. Overcooked and chewy.

We have been in petersfield for 2 years and hadn’t really given this restaurant a second look, what a mistake!!!!! Now we feel cheated that we have missed 2 years of meals at this incredible place! I’ve not had pizza like this since I was in Naples! The flavours are amazing and we will never eat pizza from anywhere else again ! Can’t wait to try the pasta! I know it sounds mad but we’re both speechless at how amazing it was…. And this was a delivery not even in the restaurant, I can’t wait to eat there in person! My partner has Italian family roots so he knows what he’s talking about! 100% recommend to anyone! Wish I had photos to share but we dived in!!!!

Just visited with my son and had a lovely evening. The pizza was tasty and I had a perfectly cooked fillet steak with a delicious peppercorn sauce. Pretty chilled but vibrant atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend.

Lovely family owned and run Italian restaurant. Plenty of choice from risotto, pasta, pizza and main course meat and fish dishes. Ideal portion sizes, not too large but filling. Rich sauces and wonderful aromas of cheese. Good enough wine list, reasonably priced but if buying by the glass be aware that if you choose something that's been open a while it might not be as good. Despite booking well in advance our table was by the kitchen, toilet and desk so not ideal but it was very busy at 7pm and there was plenty of atmosphere. Will be going again to try out some of the other dishes.

Had a great meal here on 27/1/24, our first visit but not our last. A very good traditional Italian restaurant and way ahead of the chain pizza/pasta places. It has a great rustic family-owned vibe with an open kitchen adding to the ambience. Tables are very tightly packed (the only reason I dropped a star) and it was full at 7pm. Two courses plus a round of drinks came in at under £30/head inclusive of the 10% service charge. Very happy.

Shell in salmon & clam rissoto was disappointing. No response from staff.

Lovely food, great location and atmosphere BUT spoilt by a very, very rushed service. Been twice in the past month and both times felt like they couldn’t wait to get rid of us. Shame really as we would have liked to linger over a final bottle of wine, rather than been shown the door !!!

Most of our food was excellent but some of my guests commented on theirs being a tad too salty (Funghi al Gorgonzola starter and Linguine Carbonara) which of course I accept it could have been the cheese as both dishes are made with cheese. However, the Bruschetta Crostini really wasn’t as I expected. Bruschetta comes from the Italian word “bruscare” meaning “to roast over coals” and in my experience is made by toasting slices of rustic Italian or sourdough bread. Well it certainly was Italian bread but it absolutely was not toasted. Unfortunately this resulted in the pesto making the texture of the bread feel soggy not at all crunchy or crispy as I expected hence why I did not eat it all. I did comment on it “not being great” when they collected the plates as they did not ask at any time during the meal if everything was ok, but I’m not sure that they heard me or understood me as they did not respond.

A fabulous Christmas meal for 11 of us. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful and very efficient. We had a three course meal and everything was superb. Generously sized portions, well cooked and very, very tasty. It's consistently good. I had a chicken and gorgonzola risotto a few weeks ago and it was lovely 😊

We were out shopping yesterday and thought it would be good if we treated ourselves to a meal at Piazetta. What a terrible experience!! We walked in and were greeted by someone waving her arms saying they were busy and for us to leave! We were not asked if we had a booking. She was so rude and it was such poor service which was totally unacceptable. It will deter us from going again.

Very nice place with excellent food and good service

Our was a group event. The entire restaurant was booked for an evening. It was outstanding. The staff are lovely and the food excellent. I had sea bream for my main course and it was divine.

A delicious lunchtime meal for myself and my wife, good service, lovely atmosphere, nice time was had by us both!

Absolutely fantastic. 6 of us including wives and girlfriend booked for one of our delayed birthday lunch. They happily accommodated us for Friday lunchtime. Because of the time it was quite quiet but the service was quick and courteous. Three of us ordered sea bream which was delicious the others ordered various pastas which were deemed delicious. The Limoncello ice cream and Tiramisus were wonderful as were the red and white wines. Wonderful lunch and we worth the visit.

This was our second visit, both times have been a pleasure. It is small a cosy and feels like a family run restaurant. The delicious smells hit you as you walk through the door! The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom starter! We will definitely go back again in the future.

Delicious food, a buzzing atmosphere and great service on a really busy Saturday evening. Highly recommend the trofie salsiccia with Tuscan sausage, chicken and leeks - absolutely delicious.

Delicious seafood lunch, pleasant staff, not too hectic so easy surroundings for chilled catch-up with friends.

A delightful place where I had lunch with my son and his partner. They enjoyed vegetarian pizzas while I chose the seasonal vegetable risotto which was delicious. Portions were so generous that we didn't have room for dessert. Very good service and an enjoyable experience.

We (2 adults, 3children) didn't book and took a chance turned up just as evening service started. Glad they gave us a table as within 30mins the place was full. Children aren't interested in starters so we ordered starters to come with the main. The started we ordered were the pane all'aglio (garlic pizza with mozzarella) and bruschetta crostini, my only issue with whole meal was the bruschetta had too much pesto. For mains I had the Toscana pizza and the Tuscan sausage and salami were great, wife had the linguine carbonara she devoured it. The kids had penne pasta with added pancetta (at no additional cost) and a salami pizza. The portions were huge! The pizza was same size as mine! In terms of value for money I can't complain!

Food absolutely delicious service excellent

Yet another fabuous meal at La Piazzetta last night, celebrating the young one's A level results. Service and atmosphere great, and the food was delicious - easily as nice as anything we had on a recent trip to Italy. I had a salad from the specials menu that was particularly tasty, the kids had pizzas they woofed down, and hubby had a spicy pasta dish he very much enjoyed. Topped off with a jolly good sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend.

We booked a table for four at 1.30pm as soon as we arrived the waiter told us we needed to order quickly as the kitchen was closing at 2pm, not a good start. Two of us ordered starters, half way though our first course our main course was plonked on the table. At no time did the waiter come over and ask were we happy instead he sat at a table looking at his phone. Although the food I had was nice I really would have liked to have finished my first course before my mains were delivered. My friend did not enjoy her her main when she complained to the waiter his response was just “oh okay”. He then turned off the background music and advised us that he was closing in 10 minutes. This is not acceptable in my opinion. We will not return. Why except a booking at 1.30 to close at 2pm.

Best place to eat, so quality food, not much oil, my best food there is Penny Verdy. I never I had stomach pain, all pizza is best. Recommended

Family meal for 8 on a Saturday might with a great menu to choose from including pizza, pasta and fish/meat dishes. Busy vibe about the place with the staff first class in every aspect. We choose a mix of pizzas, pastas and the fritura mixta. My linguine marinara was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals. Overall bill was pleasing too.

Really disappointing have been several times previously and was great but it appears to have seriously gone down hill,burnt starters tasteless mains and disinterested staff , regularly eat out but will not bother with this restaurant again...it's such a shame !

Strangely took some looking to find. It appears you enter a door that leads to an Indian restaurant then turn right into this restaurant. Very odd! Restaurant opens at 12:00 for lunch, however, the door was open at 11:45 and rather than wait outside I asked if I could sit at a table until 12:00. They were happy to let me. Before proper opening time I was given a menu and ordered food and a drink. Just after 12:00 I had food and drink. The pizza I ordered was a Salami (which is actually a pepperoni pizza). The pizza was nicely cooked, though I could swear there was a hint of a slight bitter aftertaste (though having done a lot of walking I was rather dehydrated so my senses could be suspect). Service was prompt, but I was surprised that when the bill arrived a 10% service charge was already included.

The pizzas were a little disappointing.

First time here and what a gem. I love the feel and the look. Great service fantastic food done the Italian way. I had whitebait to start which was a great sized portion cooked to perfection. Linguine carbonara which was the best that I have ever had with garlic bread (made like a thin pizza) and their awesome zucchini. Pudding was ice cream covered in an espresso. Red wine from Puglia. Good fair prices. I will be back. Well done.

Given the other reviews, we were disappointed with the service and attitude. The lady who took our order did not write anything down. My wife asked for the sirloin steak without the peppercorn sauce and as I have an allergy we were careful to be very specific. The lady taking our order repeated back that the steak should come plain ie without the sauce and that my food was GF. Of course when it came it came smothered with the sauce. We sent it back and the manageress (owner?) was very curt and clearly not happy. The rest food the food was OK - the mushroom and goats cheese was very good and the risottos tasty.. We declined a desert. What got us was the complete lack of an apology and we were left with the feeling at we were in the wrong.

It wasn’t the meal described on the app, I was expecting sausage, wild mushrooms, gorgonzola cream sauce and not sausage, chicken in a tomato based sauce. I would not have chosen this meal if the description was accurate and that’s the reason for the low ratings.

Had such a lovely time, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were warm and friendly, they let me come in early to put up balloons, and a cake. I can definitely recommend this little gem.

Lovely dinner. Both had the veal, one with the mushroom and truffle sauce and the other wrapped in pancetta. Although the pancetta was just put on top. Both were quite think and a little tough. Needed battening out a bit more. But lovely flavour and taste. Menu didn’t say it came with potato’s , carrots and beans. So ordered fries and courgettes. Courgettes were lightly buttered , crisp with a soft centre. Lovely Whitebait was nice

Dropped in for lunch. After the sad demise of the Midhurst branch, we needed to taste their quality cooking. As always a warm welcome, fast service and freshly cooked food. Linguine marinara a joy, and a classic saltimbocca (veal, NOT pork) delicious. There is nothing more to say.

Went last night as a large group of 8, the service was fantastic throughout. Extremely efficient staff, attentive, friendly, helpful. Food was fantastic and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Will continue to recommend! Thank you again!

In a town seemingly deluged with mediocre coffee shops and big-brand-big-bland pubs La Piazzetta is a joy to behold. Quick service, friendly and food was authentic and tasty. Highly recommended!

Almost always delivers early or bang on time so was noticeable that it was late this time, even if only a little bit.

Have been here several times and always impressed by the quality of the food, the service and the ambience. Another excellent meal - TY. And how nice to have restaurants of this quality with walking distance of one's home!

The food is cooked correctly but I asked for my pasta not to be spicy and unfortunately it was. When I called someone to tell them that they have chilies, they said...they don't have chilies. The chef didn't recognize that the sauce was spicy beforehand.I also had a Tiramisu which was good.

Cracking little Italian restaurant, great food - and wine! - good value, atmospheric and lovely, attentive and pleasant staff. I was one of a party of six and we all enjoyed our meals. Definitely recommended.

Friendly service and delicious food

Nice little place, although a bit hidden (small sign), and we walked past it at first. We were staying overnight nearby and had a lovely meal here, a week ago. I am sure they will remember me as the lady who had not been well!...

Great food definitely order again

Excellent food, all freshly prepared. Good sized portions and very good value. Not a vast menu, but if you want a four page menu you're only going to get microwaved food! Pleasant staff who didn't rush us, even though we suddenly realised we were still...

Ordered the caprese salad to take away, it was mainly rocket, with 3 small slices of tomato and mozzarella and a few pieces of avocado. Just not the sort of portion you would expect to get for nearly £9!!!
