It's strange that Spanish restaurants haven't succeeded as they should in this country because the food is varied and interesting, and 6 of us decided to try La Mancha in its new incarnation. The service was excellent and unobtrusive, the quality of the tapas was good and well-presented though I still don't understand why chorizo should be fried in gallons of oil. Still, they really mean it when they say that their tapas comes in generous portions. We ordered 8 different plates for 6 and that was enough, so don't let your stomach force you to over order! We tried the house wines which were perfectly acceptable and finished off with carajillos (espresso with brandy) to keep in Spanish mode. The bill was lower than expected, so, all-in-all a great evening.

When another nearby (new-ish) restaurant totally forgot our reservation we thought we'd never find anywhere with a table for 4 available at no notice on a busy Saturday evening in Chiswick. Luckily La Mancha were able to squeeze us in. The tapas was good, with a great variety. The atmosphere was perfect - busy but not too noisy so we could still have a good conversation. Was reasonable too, approx £35 per head including wine. Will certainly go again.

I went to this restaurant on the 17th of April 2015, and I enjoyed the experience as usual. I have been there few other times, also when the restaurant was in Putney, London. The new restaurant is much smaller, but very nicely furnished and on a very nice spot of Chiswick. The menu is also very tasty, with lots of nice tapas and a good selection of Paternina wines. The stuff is very polite and service is fast but pleasant. Last time we also met the owner, an Italian guy that years ago started this adventure of a tapas bar with a Spanish friend of his. The fact that the owner is Italian, is a bit of a let down on the authenticity of the place, but he has also pointed out that the chefs have always been 100% Spanish! The restaurant is a bit expensive, but the portions are also quite big so you will definitely feel satisfied with three tapas per person. I would definitely recommend this restaurant but make sure to book a table on the weekends because it is quite popular.

Six of us dined here in total, although two were a little late arriving. This didn't cause a problem for the friendly and amenable staff, who were attentive and very good at suggesting different dishes for the wide selection of tastes and palates they had to deal with. Fantastic choice of food and wines, all at reasonable prices. Not sure how I managed to stuff everything in, but the flavours meant I had to. Will be back soon.

On arriving, it was very quiet with no atmosphere. Staff were inattentive and I sat for 10 mins before asking if there was any chance of a drink. What appeared to be the mgr or owner, sat at the bar reading the paper. By the time my guest arrived, I would have been happy to leave, but love Spanish food so was prepared to try. The tapas starter was disappointing - garlic bread was Pizza Hut-style, prawns in breadcrumbs so overdone that it resembled fast food. The mini peppers tossed in olive oil were just OK & plentiful. Cod tempura came with four whole chips so don't visit if you're hungry. Cod stew was tasteless. Dessert - I resorted to churro's just for the memories and this was clinically ok - didn't resemble the Spanish ones I've tried which are like doughnuts! Overall, both my guest and I felt the same in that it was an underwhelming experience and not one we'd repeat. I visit a Spanish friend every year and we always try a new area to dine & have never been disappointed so don't by any means consider this an example of Spanish cuisine.

The Spanish omelette was probably my favourite but the croquettas were good too but they could have had a bit more filling rather than mostly potato. The patatas braves was rather disappointing as I expected the sauce to be more flavourful. The prawns in garlic sauce weren't my favourite, but to their credit, they were cooked to perfection. Image: Tapas For dessert, we opted for the churros. They were terrible! Greasy, tasteless and way too heavy. We wished we'd gone for the Creme Catalan or Almond Cake. Perhaps next time! For my full review, see my blog at The London Adventurer : http://wp.me/p3J9eI-ne

Very polite civilized waiting staff and friendly manager make this a nice place to spend the evening. However it was let down by the food in some areas and I also felt it was a little over priced. The bread was excellent and chorizo was good. Nice spinach croquettes but the chopped peppers in the monkfish and tiger prawns brochette were overdone and lacked flavour. The monkfish had little flavour or marinade and was bland. The tiger prawns were small and the size of regular king prawns in Chinatown

Its a bit of a trek to get there from NW London, but La Mancha provides everything you want from a Spanish restaurant, good tapas and a good atmosphere. We've been there many times and are never disappointed. Since Tapeo in Belsize Park closed down, we had been searching for a decent tapas/Paella place. Tendido Cero and Tendido Cuatro are good but lacking something. La Mancha is friendly and welcoming, not pretentious or overprice at all. The food and drink arrives promptly. Thoroughly recommended are the Pimentos del Padron, Pulpo alla Gallega and the Fried Octopus with Soya Sauce mayo, we could eat that all night! If it is your birthday they will be more than happy to arrange a cake, dim the lights and sing to you in Spanish! Your meal is followed by complimentary Hazelnut or Apple liqueur, I don't drink and have to drive but my wife swears by the Hazelnut liqueur, you'll want to steal the bottle! Keep up the good work La Mancha. Extra tidbit, we noticed one evening that Jonathan Phang was there so if its good enough for a chef........

This Restaurant shows a quality of rare excellence which deserves recognition. The tapas are freshly cooked, hot and delicious. There is an exciting choice of mainly slow cooked meat dishes ,varied sea food and fish dishes and of course many interesting vegetarian options and sides. The service is fast and friendly with a touch of rare old-fashioned courtesy without being intrusive. The is an excellent and reasonably priced wine list and I believe I saw a cocktail menu as well. It was also brilliant to complete the meal with a glass of dry fino sherry or port which is not so widely available these days. It was a true feast and a delight and all at a reasonable price. We will definitely return very soon to sample another selection from this exciting menu.

We only had to wait for 5 mn for us to make a good plan.Foodwise, La Mancha is a high quality tapas restaurant. We have experienced many local restaurants in Spain and la Mancha has no reason to be ashamed of the quality of their food. I like Spanish food and have been to the highly-rated, award-winning central London Barrafina restaurants a couple of times.I thought that the food here was on a par with that. There were 4 of us. We ordered paella for two (which was packed with mussels and chunks of chicken and pork). Given that the paella takes around 30 minutes to cook, we also ordered 7 tapas dishes. Some of the 'specials' menu tapas were excellent. We very much enjoyed the food. The service was understated and reasonably attentive. The servings are very generous, we each ordered 2 dishes which was more than enough. There is a good selection of fish, meat and vegetable dishes and the specials additions supplement the standard offerings nicely. I ordered off the specials menu and highly recommend the courgette carpaccio and duck with creamy rice. The courgettes came with a generous sprinkling of nuts and shaved parmesan cheese which was a lovely combination. The duck was also very tasty though the outer slices were quite salty. My friends were equally pleased with their choices - monkfish and prawn skewer with pisto, roasted cod, plain tortilla and serrano ham. There was enough of each dish that we could all share. Not sure if they offer a discount every week, but on the night we visited (a Monday) there was a 25% discount being offered. I will definitely revisit.

When he did he didn't explain the menu at all and there was no children's menu or smaller portion sizes. The food arrived fast because it was all reheated. My daughters chips tasted like old oil, the Batatas Bravas also tasted like old oil. The Tres Colores salad was a tomato half an avocado and some mozzarella. The rest of the food was just as bad all reheated with not much taste. I wouldn't bother going here go next door. Visited their Paella Party recently and decided to stay for lunch. What a amazing idea – Paella Takeaway – so good we decided to go again this weekend and had a fantastic time. Highly recommended. Lovely friendly staff and great Spanish dishes from their new chef, with a few interesting twists on recipes.

Large portions of delicious tapas. Only thing we did not like was that there are a large number of black flies in there that were very obvious flying around and settling on the white walls :(

Excellent food. Excellent service. Decent price with the 25% off total bill. Having been to Spain recently, it was gratifying that the tapas at La Mancha was better than that which we had in Spain. Trio of fish was amazing.

Liked the sangria, service fast and businesslike, food decent. Felt a bit efficient and nothing special. We've been trying to find a decent tapas place after our favourite restaurant closed, but this unfortunately isn't it.

Went to La Mancha with friends for lunch today. I was absolutely blown away by all the dishes we chose. Highlights were the trio of fish - smoked cod, anchovies and sardine on bruschetta with delicious sub strata of avocado, tomato etc. Monkfish and prawn kebab delicious and generous portions all round. Aged Serrano ham dry and thinly sliced. My wife and one of our party selected fixed price lunch - two courses at about £10 - again very generous portions with strong satisfaction registered with courgette carpaccio as starter - followed by main of tortilla omelette with potato, onions and peppers. Service was very good and white wine outstanding. We made a promise to ourselves to visit this new restaurant more often as good value and delicious. I can firmly recommend.

My Husband and I are new to Chiswick and we stopped in for a quick meal in May. We have been back 4 times since. The food is great. There specials are even better. When busy they seem a little understaffed at times but all the staff is polite and friendly.

What an asset La Mancha is to the Chiswick restaurant scene. Had another great meal there last night. Salvatore and his team really looked after us. Putney's loss is Chiswick's gain.

A good find in Chiswick - well presented tapas in decent portion sizes (large by tapas standards). All the old favourites there, plus some good original dishes - all well presented. Service was excellent. Wine list was short, but the wines were good. A very enjoyable evening

Well, it was a wet night in Chiswick but inside La Mancha was warm with welcome, a bit of Spain in Chiswick (apart from the prices).
Great food, waiters were fab, selection was good win was wonderful the prices were London prices but not that bad - we are regulars to the taps bars in the north west Spain and the food was on a par with those.

keep up the great work

I went there twice. I discovered a Friday nigh with my family this little Spanish place. We were welcoming by the owner who was really nice and helpful. We are French and he was speaking French with us (good accent btw). We had a cocktail at the bar and after 5 min we got a table. The service was really good. I'm waitress as well so I'm careful about the service but I had nothing bad to say. Always here when we need them and really professional and friendly. They helped us to choose the food. We realized that we took too much and that took of the plate of the bill that we didn't eat. At the end of the dinner we had a complementary glass of manzana. Thank you!!The food is really wonderful. I felt in Spain. I went back with the friend and same experience. Will not be the last!Thank you so much for this perfection.

A good selection of tapas dishes for all ages and tastes. Good service and reasonable range of wine choices although understandably leaning towards Spanish wines

Ottimo ristorante spagnolo!

La Mancha consistently deliver great Spanish food. We enjoyed a range of starter dishes and lamb cutlets for a main course. Nothing to much for the excellent staff as usual. Great bottle of Ribera Del Duero, fantastic selection of real Spanish Deserts.

It's not the same as it was Putney.
The atmosphere is more boring. Less fun less loud less people. The later said it all. Must be a change of owner!

Had a 2 course lunchtime meal for £9.95. 2pm on a Tuesday, fairly empty but a relaxed atmosphere with large glass doors opened onto outdoor tables. Food was incredible, I had tuna salad and slow-cooked Iberian cheek. My girlfriend had mussels and swordfish. 3 menus were given; specials, lunch-time and tapas - all had large selection. Decor was warm and Spanish influenced. Would highly recommend - would like to visit for wkend evening meal to see what the atmosphere is like. Tapas menu I suspect is more pricey.

Highly recommend the Poached Octopus and Iberico Ham croquettes, had to resist reodering! We will definitley be going back.

As always La Mancha was an excellent choice for a evening out. It was very busy with a large party, but this did not hinder the good food and speed to service. Will always be happy to return.

Seriously unimpressed with the quality of food. Ingredients may be good but spoiled by the microwave zap.How difficult it must be to get something so easy so wrong. And as for the dozens of single-review fans...make your own mind up.

Food was hot and miss. The albondigas were very bland and not very pleasant at all. Dense and under seasoned. Not sure if they would have been better made with lamb. They had exactly the same bland sauce as the patatas bravas, which were tasteless too. Chorizo in wine was uninspiring. Other dishes were good- gambas, croquetas.Would be overpriced without the 25% off. Service good.

The food was absolutely delicious, capturing an authentic taste that kept me coming back. I was so impressed during my visit yesterday that I returned again today with my family. A special thanks to Munnaza, a staff member whose warm hospitality and excellent service made the experience even more great. Sher Khan has undoubtedly earned a spot as one of my favorite dining places

Resturant told me driver was stuck in traffic. When food was delivered, the delivery person was on a bicycle. Also, the food was not hot.

Went in today to watch football, walked in and a bloke obviously local was kicking his phone about screaming and swearing staff just looked at him. I stayed to watch the game but I like rough pubs but this was horrific, toilets were a disgrace no lock on door and toilet paper all over floor and this is a so called restaurant

Simply the worst fish and chips I have ever had… soft and chewy batter with a thin dried out piece of cod in the middle… chips tasty but freezing cold, mushy peas are basically one mouthful… this is not how we do fish and chips
