Authentic Italian food, Elsa the chef puts her heart and soul into her flavoursome dishes. The atmosphere is very cosy. My favourite restaurant in London. Don’t hesitate to visit

Went for dinner and had a lovely time, both of us had the homemade pasta and it was the best we had since being in Italy. The service was great and the waiter was extremely helpful and pleasant. I was a bit underwhelmed by the pistachio cake but everything else was fantastic. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for some quality pasta and service.

Food was great, service was very attentive, but stay for the dessert! It was the truly one of the best we have ever had. Also get the limoncello spritz!

I do not understand why this place has such a high rating. The food was average - pizza was ok, but the pizza base didn't have salt. Diavolo pizza was just pepperoni pizza with olives. But prices for the food are almost twice as much as in other places with better quality food.

We had a long flight and hadn’t eaten for awhile and walked by this gem of a restaurant on our way to our airbnb and immediately returned for dinner and were so lucky we did. The place was so charming. The food was spectacular, so tasty, and I wanted to try it all, but we managed two pasta dishes and a pizza and ate every delicious bite. Everyone was so friendly, and the Chefs hands must have been blessed by a Saint! So delicious!

I had the mushroom dish which was a little bland. The other vegetarian dish with tomatoes and pesto was delicious though. Interiors is very beautiful and cosy.

The chef was absolutely incredible, the dishes that she recommended were absolutely delicious. This is our second time here. If you are coming to london it is a musttttt. Also she had my little brother help with the pizza which made him so happy

I just loved this place, the food was completely delicious! Genuinely italian, great portions and my husband and me received a lovely treatment since we arrived. For sure is a place to come back for our next time in London.

This place has a good, authentic atmosphere. The food was just decent and the wait times for some items was very long. Ordered a few non-alcoholic beers but they weren't in the fridge so they were warm and were served with a glass of ice. Staff were smoking at the entrance to the restaurant. I probably won't return.

Have been coming here for a while! The chef curates a list of specials each day made with incredibly fresh ingredients. The food is always amazing and never disappoints! Had the linguine with Tiger prawns and mussels + the risotto, everything is always cooked to perfection; there is a large selection of food on the menu, so many things to choose from. The restaurant has a lovely and homely touch! Definitely recommend if you want to have a proper classic Italian meal

Risotto was undercooked, with every bite sticking to your teeth. I’m Italian and have had risotto in Italy, and never had it undercooked like this, yet I was told this is how it’s supposed to be. There’s al dente and then there’s undercooking and they seem to be confused. Made no attempt to make it right. The pasta was also overcooked. Lots of restaurants in the area, I’d skip.

Found this little gem on Google maps, reviews looked good so we booked and I'm so glad we did! Definitely the best Italian meal I've had outside of Italy. The restaurant feels rustic and authentic. The quality of the ingredients are noticeable which have been prepared perfectly. As for the service...you arrive a customer and leave feeling like a friend! La Fortuna has made me miss my time living in Italy. Will definitely return!

Friendly service, but the food was very bland. Also very limited selection of wine available to buy by the glass. The people running this place are not Italian.

Very intimate seating with friendly staff awaits you. The food was outstanding. Fresh pasta with many choices of sauce, including sausage and fennel, bolognese, and tomato. The langostino salad was excellent. Chef owned and operated. She’s a marvelous person who puts her heart and soul into presentations. Decent wine list, full bar service. Not far from Churchill Arms. Prices very fair. Would highly recommend.

I came here by chance and have returned over and over. The food is authentic and excellent, portions large. Pasta dishes are like being in Italy. Everything is fresh - salads, fish, etc. Chef Elsa turns out original, delicious specials every day. The service is attentive and friendly; the staff are always smiling. It is a delightful alternative to the "factory food" of nearby places like the Ivy. Highly recommended.

My first night in London and my local friends took me and my husband here for dinner. It was chef’s kiss delicious! We had pasta, calamari and the pistachio cake dessert and all of it was incredible. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for some great Italian food!

We had a fantastic meal at La Fortuna - flatbread pizza, carbonara, bolognese. It is in a great location off Kensington High Street. We sat in a table on the street and enjoyed great wine and friendly service. Will definitely go back!

Such an amazing restaurant. Elsa the owner and cook is exemplary and will make you whatever you would like - and I guarantee you will LOVE it! It is so hurtful to see a bad review from another person purely based on vindictiveness for not being given a table when they had not booked. This person then plays the race card as the reason for not being granted a table. This restaurant and its owners are, based on my experience, the most cosmopolitan, welcoming and non discriminatory restaurant I have known. It is therefore mean-hearted at best when an over-privileged person of colour spoils it for the rest of us by vocalising their indignation at not being given an impromptu table at one of London’s most desired restaurants purely based on colour - when in fact it was because they were fully booked and they had not booked. C’mon guys… take the higher ground and apologize for your vindictiveness.

Horrible people! We are people of colour and the manager didn’t let us in!!! I can’t believe even an Italian person could do this!!! Don’t go there if you are not white! My husband and I have seen this restaurant’s good reviews on Google. Reviewed their menu today on site, in Kensington. We wanted to eat there but the manager (female at 50s) at door didn’t let us in. She asked if we have a booking. We said no but we would appreciate if there is an available seat for TWO PEOPLE. She refused us by saying that it is fully booked. I said OK. She answered so weirdly and repeated my answers. We felt that weird energy and left. Then a group of 9 WHITE PEOPLE CAME. Of course she let them in! This is nonsense. I don’t even believe that their Google reviews are real. Don’t go this place if you don’t want to face with discrimination and humiliation.

The best Italian place I've been in London. My third time there and it's my favourite Italian restaurant in the city. I highly recommend. The specials are really good. The risotto that I ordered was great as well. Don't forget to order the dessert. Pistachio cake is light and great. The owners are really nice and lovely. Recommend!

The owner waited on us, made suggestionswith recommendations. The salad was large enough for four people, we almost finished it. It had goat cheese with procieto, greens, shaved parmesan top off with a delicious mango dressing. For the main meal had linguini with calamari, shrimp, and a very light spicy flavoring over . VERY Delicious. With house wine which was also very tasteful.

I had such a great experience there! I'm italian and all the dishes were so delicious!! Elsa and her staff are so welcoming with the guests and you can also ask for info or maybe changes for some dishes (like making it vegetarian). I had both pasta and pizza and I found them amazing! Would highly reccomend, I felt right at home!

I stayed in London few days with my boyfriend, we are Italian, and we had such a great experience in La Fortuna Restaurant. Elsa and her staff were so welcoming and sweet with us, we had both lunch and dinner many times there because we couldn't get tired of that amazing food! Pasta and pizza were so delicious (I mean, you can see it from the pictures). Thank you so much for being amazing with your guests! I felt right at home!

Absolutely lovely experience! Had to come back the next day. Full of character, charm, and delicious food. One of my favorite parts of my trips from the states! The food is made with love and laughter from amazing chefs and the owner was incredibly kind and gracious.

We dined here on the first night of a short stay in the area. The atmosphere is intimate and the staff welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do. We shared the two ravioli dishes that were specials that night which were delicious. There is a well chosen wine list. We hope to return when we are next in this area.

If you want to be transported to Italy direct from London, come here. We sprung a party of 8 “americanos” on them last minute and it was the best service, best meal, and best company we’ve had anywhere. All the love!! Mama Elsa is the momma you didn’t know you were missing.

Not only is the food first class but Elsa and her staff are as well. We had a party of eight and asked Elsa to decide for us. We were overwhelmed with her choices, quantity and flavor. It is a can’t miss.

An excellent small Italian restaurant.

We usually love this restaurant- been a couple of times when we’re in the area but his time we were horrified by the price of the ‘specials’ ( which we weren’t advised of in advance. £20 for the pasta starter ( more than the price of a pasta main) and £38 for a lamb steak in potatoes (seriously?) the food is good but don’t ever be drawn into the specials without asking the price 😠

The place is very cozy, they welcomed us without a reservation. The food was excellent, the taste was homemade, the pasta was fresh, the seasoning, etc. Excellent value for money, the prices are good and the food is extraordinary. If you pass through London and stay in the area don't hesitate to dine here.

Great personal service in pleasant surroundings. Nobody was rushing us. We had a very fine carbonara and a good house red. Very satisfied.

My friend chose this restaurant for a Sunday night dinner, having dined there before. It’s a tiny two-storey restaurant which was quiet as it was Sunday. We both chose Linguine Modo Mio with Rose wine which were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient.

What a night! Come with my book to have some peace, and I found a Huge Italian Family serving me with all the love I could ever received.
