La Fontana Italian Restaurant in Blackpool

Brilliant Italian. One of the best pizzas I've ever had (and I've had a few, let me tell you). I would go back in a heartbeat and am trying to come up with a reason to return to Blackpool (I live near Glasgow!)!

I went for the first time today, the staff are absolutely incredible and nice to be around. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you’re in italy, the food was unbelievably good, it didn’t take long to come either!

Walked into to a very warm welcome. We were escorted to a table quickly and the food was delicious.

1st time there, Mon 5th May, fantastic Italian food! With friendly staff, it was really busy but you don’t feel rushed at all.(we went at 5pm when they opened and by half past people were waiting for a table) Our starters were calamari and a mozzarella and Parma ham. Mains were seafood pizza and a ham and mushroom pizza - could not fault it Food is delicious Lauren who served us was so nice she obviously knows her jobI would definitely recommend to anyone, just either book or get there early and enjoy

We go two/three times a year always perfect, staff brilliant, chef phenomenal always get a fillet steak, I like mine burnt black lol, very hard to cook, always cooked to perfection for me soft and tender melts in your mouth, many thanks again not hard to pay. Regards Jackie/Robert

We booked La Fontana for a party of 26 people on 26th April. We were participating in the Blackpool Running festival and looking for somewhere that could accommodate a large party for pre run carb loading. La Fontana happily took our order and in the days leading up to our booking contacted me on several occasions to organise pre orders, accommodate dietary requirements and ensure that we were happy with the plans. I spoke to a couple of members of staff who were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were very impressed with the food and the swift service. There were no issues or errors with our preorders. All of the staff were friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. We were able to pay for drinks individually at the bar which saved any hassles of working out the drinks bill at the end. The food was very good - and the party menu offered a great selection at very good value for money. We’d like to thank La Fontana for their excellent service and recommend this charming restaurant highly. Thanks again!

Frequented this restaurant for over 20 years and never felt anything but satisfaction. Difficult to find an Italian of this quality in the area.

Pedí un plato de pollo. El pollo estaba demasiado cocido, seco y tieso. El camarero llevó el plato de vuelta al chef. El chef me envió un mensaje diciendo que el pollo no estaba demasiado cocido y que estaba bien. Parecía que la palabra del chef era definitiva. No podía comérmelo. Hemos visitado este restaurante muchas veces a lo largo de los años. Había una familia agradable (madre, hija, abuela) que poseía y trabajaba en el restaurante. El nuevo personal es agradable, pero es evidente que tienen que correr el guante entre el jefe - chef y los invitados a comer. El camarero italiano y la camarera eran muy serviciales.

Greeted by lovely staff with big smiles. Restaurants layout is very nice and Italian styled. Atmosphere is great here with a perfect level of music Ordered the carbonara, lasagna and a side of chips for £34 and it is well worth the price. "Best lasagna in blackpool"

Found this little gem of a place by accident and I must say it was amazing! Great service, great atmosphere and the food was amazing! The pate was to die for and the salmon pasta dish I had was outstanding! The only down side was I needed sleep after as I was definitely well fed! Would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again!

Huge gluten free menu. We had the antipasto, Fontana pizza and Marinara risotto. Absolutely delicious food and the gentleman in there was lovely.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on February 13th to celebrate an early Valentine’s Day. The ambiance was exceptional, with a beautifully designed interior that created the illusion of dining outdoors, adding a unique and romantic touch to the experience. We ordered the Lasagna and Steak, both of which were expertly prepared and cooked to perfection. Each dish was flavorful and showcased the chef’s attention to detail, making the meal truly memorable. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. They even kindly offered to take a photo for us, which, while slightly embarrassing 😅, was a thoughtful gesture that added to the evening’s charm. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent choice for a romantic date. The combination of exquisite food, elegant ambiance, and exceptional service makes it a place I would highly recommend and gladly return to.

We went for dinner at La Fontana, following recommendations from Trip Advisor and a friend who lives in Blackpool. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome, the staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant's interior was tastefully decorated and had a lovely lighted ceiling (fairy lights) which added to the ambiance of the restaurant. We were going to see a show at the nearby Winter Gardens so we skipped the starters and went straight to Mains. I had Lasagne which was freshly cooked and tasted delightful, my wife had the Arrabbiata which again was freshly cooked, spicy, and scrumptious. We did manage to fit in a dessert and both chose Tiramisu which was to die for. The food and service were excellent and if you ever visit Blackpool I would recommend a visit, I don't think you will be disappointed with the experience.

We visited La Fontana on Saturday to celebrate my 70th birthday! My daughter arranged it all, and we were a party of 5 including her husband, and my 2 grandchildren ! We had a brilliant evening, delicious food, and excellent service! Samantha and Stefano could not do enough for us! Thank you La Fontana! Cannot wait to return when we are next in Blackpool! Mary

Another visit to our favourite Italian restaurant. Food and service absolutely brilliant as always, homemade Tiramisu for dessert was delicious, all washed down with a lovely bottle of the House Red. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The worst was the waiter trying to explain in so many different ways the reason for this absurd , he said first: "oh everywhere in Blackpool is like this" - LIER! we tried 2 different Italian restaurants and we were never charged any extra for something so silly! THEN He also said: "it was suppose to be only £1 extra", but AGAIN we were presented the bill and forced to pay the total of £6 (SIX)!! SO VERY CONTRADICTORY!! I mean, come on....we did NOT ask for any extra weight/portion, nor a special type of pasta but just a SIMPLE spagetti Instead of penny!!!!! I find it very inconsiderate and greedy way of making money. Really rip off! Never again la fontana - I rather bring business to a restaurant that is more understanding and considerate with their customers! I do not recommend and IF you want to take the risk, BE VERY CAREFUL not to be a victim too! **** UPDATE: I am really disgusted to see that even in their response they STILL LYING!!! LYING LYING AND LYING!!! We didn't even argued at all, as we had to leave and get kids to bed as it was already late!!!! Instead of lying, being dishonest and inconsiderate, you should spend some time learning how to run the business in a honest way and be considerate to customers!! Family meal to celebrate a birthday. Large party was no problem. All meals served together and on time. Piping hot and excellent quality. The staff are really lovely and welcoming.

Se cayó por casualidad y como no se puede reservar si una pequeña fiesta tuvimos una espera de 30 minutos ya que estaba ocupado. Muy buen ambiente, el personal estaba bien entrenado y la comida era excelente. El stroganoff fue el mejor que he probado y la pizza también era muy buena. Una de las mejores comidas italianas que he tenido.

After a busy day in Blackpool we (11 family members) had a fantastic meal here. Food was superb. Service is what makes a good meal an excellent meal. We all left, relaxed, well fed and happy! Thank you. Our coeliac was very well catered for too. Ps. Well done on gentle lighting and music! An oasis of calm after a day of bright lights and loud music. Highly recommend this restaurant, and if we are ever back in Blackpool we will be back here.

Staff and service great. Place is lovely but shame I can’t say the same about the food. I got the lasagne and it was below average, it tasted and looked like a ready meal lasagne - sloppy and thin. The portions were tiny, we left there hungry. Others in the group ordered other meals and they were of the same below average standard. Unfortunately I won’t be returning!

No Lasagne on a Saturday night- sold out by 8pm. Had a tasteless Canaloni instead 😕

Me and my wife last visited La Fontana on our last trip trip to Blackpool 7 years ago. We visited Blackpool again this weekend and are happy to say that we had another fantastic dining experience here again last night. The food, atmosphere and service were all superb. Thankyou.

Food was absolutely gorgeous, I had the cannolini and my partner had the bolognese and both dishes were impeccable. Service from lauren was amazing. The interior is beautiful too. Genuinely one of, if not, the best restaurants I've eaten at.

We recently dined at La Fontana with a group of seven, and we were all thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent with attentive and friendly staff making us feel welcome from start to finish. The food was simply amazing—each dish was bursting with authentic flavors that took me right back to my recent trip to Siena, Italy. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers such a true taste of Italy, but La Fontana does it flawlessly. Highly recommend for anyone craving an exceptional Italian dining experience!

Very attentive staff. Could do with more affordable drinks for non drinkers (£3 for a small glass of lemonade!!) nice food and lovely decor.

This is are 4th visit as we are from Birmingham but we have made it a staple in our visits to Blackpool. Amazing service and food ( Stephanie loved her fries) couldn’t do enough for the children looking forward to seeing you again in the near future.

The food taste, environment and service are first-class. I will definitely come back next time I go to blackpool.

We come all the way from Windermere in the Lake District, just for a meal here. Cannot be beaten. An amazing family restaurant who treat us so well. The food is superb and on another level. Can't wait to return... oh, that will be tonight!!

Prebooked table. England euro final later... 6pm booked. Starters arriving same time as aperitif... Carrots almost raw. (2 different dishes )5 of us served and out in 1 hour ( had to remind that its not appropriate to remove dishes whilst some of the group are still eating this course). Was a very rushed service..Great food, fun staff..Will return next time we are all in Blackpool (as we do,at least, annually)

Our first visit to La Fontana, the manager was friendly and found us a table really quickly. We ate a starter (Aperitivi-olives, pugliese bread & oils) which was a good portion between two and we also ordered pizza which was delicious and biscoff cheesecake which was to die for! We found the atmosphere nice and accommodating and the service was excellent with knowledgeable and attentive staff. We will definitely visit again when in Blackpool, this is how an Italian restaurant should be.

We came for a meal during our visit to blackpool, we didn’t book and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived so we were politely sat at the waiting table and given water and menus. Very polite and engaging staff. Meals came quick considering the busyness, and were delicious. Would definitely return :)

This restaurant is likely among the finest I have dined at. The employees are exceptionally hospitable and promptly seated us. Our meal was ordered and served in a timely manner, The food was amazing and tasted really fresh. The pricing appears to be fair given the quality of the food. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.

This place is a must visit. Food was amazing! My boyfriend had the steak and I had a pasta, both were 10/10 the staff are all pleasant and make you feel welcomed. The building is beautiful. The only complaints would be the seats were a bit uncomfortable. As well as the drinking glasses being a bit small. These are minor issues compared to the food, service and general atmosphere!

5 adults & a 12 year old. Very disappointed in our experience as the reviews we had read prior were very good, the only good thing I will say is the gentleman who greeted us and taken us to our table was extremely pleasant & polite, (I’m guessing he was manager) he in fact went above and beyond to help my disabled mother. A young lady brought menus & took our drinks order, soon after our experience very quickly went downhill, at this point approximately 17.15pm it wasn’t too busy. Probably 4 families in the restaurant with 3/4 members of staff waiting on. Took a minimum of 30-40 minutes for someone to take our food order, we sat patiently waiting watching the staff continue to walk past us numerous times before we had to ask for someone to take it, no apology just a “yes” and continued to walk away. Food arrived, very disappointed in all dishes, the meals did all look delicious and very well presented, The cheese garlic pizza bread was ok, you can’t really go wrong with that, 3 of our pasta dishes were extremely dry with a strong overpowering taste of black pepper which ruined the dishes, I’m sorry to say this but I have had the same pasta dish from the supermarket which tasted better, unfortunately. The youngest had fries with her pizza which were burned, she didn’t eat, She did say in fact her margarita pizza was lovely. I have to say apart from the gentleman who greeted us the other members of staff were very miserable, one older lady brought drinks over to our table which was not ours, all she said was “oh” and walked away, no apologies no smile, nothing! But especially the young female who was assigned to our table, she never once smiled or said thank you when I scraped the plates and put them together in a pile for her, no manners whatsoever, no conversation came from her mouth only “do you want desserts” obviously we didn’t as we wasn’t made to feel welcome or comfortable at this point. Not once did anybody come back to our table & ask if the food was ok or if we would like any more drinks or just in general if there is anything they could get us, we finished our meals & asked for the bill. It is the normal thing nowadays to have a service charge put on top of the bill, on this occasion is was 10%, I have absolutely no problem at all with paying that, but it is exactly that a SERVICE charge… no where does it say we are charging you an extra 10% on your bill for the miserable & quite frankly rude staff. Just a smile would suffice, politeness & manners cost nothing, We are locals who live in the town but unfortunately for this restaurant we won’t be returning.

Our group goes here each year when in Blackpool. It's all good (not cheap but not ridiculous) and we look forwards to coming back again.

Stumbled upon this place by chance on a Sunday evening and everything from the food to the service was top notch. Fun without being annoying, tasty food, nice decor - perfect.
