La Fontana Italian Restaurant in Blackpool

Dropped in by chance and as you can’t book if a small party we had a 30 minute wait as it was busy. Really good atmosphere, staff were well trained and the food was excellent. The stroganoff was the best I have ever had and the pizza was also very good. One of the best Italian meals I have ever had.

Family friendly, relaxed vibe and cosy atmosphere. My young son has some sensory issues and so we appreciated the low, calm music and relaxed lighting. The servers are welcoming, friendly and efficient and the food choices/ portion sizes are good value. Thank you.

After a busy day in Blackpool we (11 family members) had a fantastic meal here. Food was superb. Service is what makes a good meal an excellent meal. We all left, relaxed, well fed and happy! Thank you. Our coeliac was very well catered for too. Ps. Well done on gentle lighting and music! An oasis of calm after a day of bright lights and loud music. Highly recommend this restaurant, and if we are ever back in Blackpool we will be back here.

Staff and service great. Place is lovely but shame I can’t say the same about the food. I got the lasagne and it was below average, it tasted and looked like a ready meal lasagne - sloppy and thin. The portions were tiny, we left there hungry. Others in the group ordered other meals and they were of the same below average standard. Unfortunately I won’t be returning!

No Lasagne on a Saturday night- sold out by 8pm. Had a tasteless Canaloni instead 😕

Me and my wife last visited La Fontana on our last trip trip to Blackpool 7 years ago. We visited Blackpool again this weekend and are happy to say that we had another fantastic dining experience here again last night. The food, atmosphere and service were all superb. Thankyou.

Food was absolutely gorgeous, I had the cannolini and my partner had the bolognese and both dishes were impeccable. Service from lauren was amazing. The interior is beautiful too. Genuinely one of, if not, the best restaurants I've eaten at.

We recently dined at La Fontana with a group of seven, and we were all thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent with attentive and friendly staff making us feel welcome from start to finish. The food was simply amazing—each dish was bursting with authentic flavors that took me right back to my recent trip to Siena, Italy. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers such a true taste of Italy, but La Fontana does it flawlessly. Highly recommend for anyone craving an exceptional Italian dining experience!

This is are 4th visit as we are from Birmingham but we have made it a staple in our visits to Blackpool. Amazing service and food ( Stephanie loved her fries) couldn’t do enough for the children looking forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Very attentive staff. Could do with more affordable drinks for non drinkers (£3 for a small glass of lemonade!!) nice food and lovely decor.

The food taste, environment and service are first-class. I will definitely come back next time I go to blackpool.

We come all the way from Windermere in the Lake District, just for a meal here. Cannot be beaten. An amazing family restaurant who treat us so well. The food is superb and on another level. Can't wait to return... oh, that will be tonight!!

Prebooked table. England euro final later... 6pm booked. Starters arriving same time as aperitif... Carrots almost raw. (2 different dishes )5 of us served and out in 1 hour ( had to remind that its not appropriate to remove dishes whilst some of the group are still eating this course). Was a very rushed service..Great food, fun staff..Will return next time we are all in Blackpool (as we do,at least, annually)

GREAT TEAM, GREAT AMBIANCE, GREAT MENU CHOICE, DELICIOUS FOOD, GREAT PRICES. I wished I’d found the venue earlier during my stay, as I’d of happily returned 😁. Having said that, I’ll probably come back to Blackpool but definitely come back here when I do.

Our first visit to La Fontana, the manager was friendly and found us a table really quickly. We ate a starter (Aperitivi-olives, pugliese bread & oils) which was a good portion between two and we also ordered pizza which was delicious and biscoff cheesecake which was to die for! We found the atmosphere nice and accommodating and the service was excellent with knowledgeable and attentive staff. We will definitely visit again when in Blackpool, this is how an Italian restaurant should be.

Wonderful service and a great atmosphere, had a wonderful started my dad did to however main was disappointed seafood pasta was advantage very spicy but on the pricy side however my dad said his steak was amazing

We came for a meal during our visit to blackpool, we didn’t book and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived so we were politely sat at the waiting table and given water and menus. Very polite and engaging staff. Meals came quick considering the busyness, and were delicious. Would definitely return :)

This restaurant is likely among the finest I have dined at. The employees are exceptionally hospitable and promptly seated us. Our meal was ordered and served in a timely manner, The food was amazing and tasted really fresh. The pricing appears to be fair given the quality of the food. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.

5 adults & a 12 year old. Very disappointed in our experience as the reviews we had read prior were very good, the only good thing I will say is the gentleman who greeted us and taken us to our table was extremely pleasant & polite, (I’m guessing he was manager) he in fact went above and beyond to help my disabled mother. A young lady brought menus & took our drinks order, soon after our experience very quickly went downhill, at this point approximately 17.15pm it wasn’t too busy. Probably 4 families in the restaurant with 3/4 members of staff waiting on. Took a minimum of 30-40 minutes for someone to take our food order, we sat patiently waiting watching the staff continue to walk past us numerous times before we had to ask for someone to take it, no apology just a “yes” and continued to walk away. Food arrived, very disappointed in all dishes, the meals did all look delicious and very well presented, The cheese garlic pizza bread was ok, you can’t really go wrong with that, 3 of our pasta dishes were extremely dry with a strong overpowering taste of black pepper which ruined the dishes, I’m sorry to say this but I have had the same pasta dish from the supermarket which tasted better, unfortunately. The youngest had fries with her pizza which were burned, she didn’t eat, She did say in fact her margarita pizza was lovely. I have to say apart from the gentleman who greeted us the other members of staff were very miserable, one older lady brought drinks over to our table which was not ours, all she said was “oh” and walked away, no apologies no smile, nothing! But especially the young female who was assigned to our table, she never once smiled or said thank you when I scraped the plates and put them together in a pile for her, no manners whatsoever, no conversation came from her mouth only “do you want desserts” obviously we didn’t as we wasn’t made to feel welcome or comfortable at this point. Not once did anybody come back to our table & ask if the food was ok or if we would like any more drinks or just in general if there is anything they could get us, we finished our meals & asked for the bill. It is the normal thing nowadays to have a service charge put on top of the bill, on this occasion is was 10%, I have absolutely no problem at all with paying that, but it is exactly that a SERVICE charge… no where does it say we are charging you an extra 10% on your bill for the miserable & quite frankly rude staff. Just a smile would suffice, politeness & manners cost nothing, We are locals who live in the town but unfortunately for this restaurant we won’t be returning.

This place is a must visit. Food was amazing! My boyfriend had the steak and I had a pasta, both were 10/10 the staff are all pleasant and make you feel welcomed. The building is beautiful. The only complaints would be the seats were a bit uncomfortable. As well as the drinking glasses being a bit small. These are minor issues compared to the food, service and general atmosphere!

Our group goes here each year when in Blackpool. It's all good (not cheap but not ridiculous) and we look forwards to coming back again.

Stumbled upon this place by chance on a Sunday evening and everything from the food to the service was top notch. Fun without being annoying, tasty food, nice decor - perfect.

This is a lovely little Italian hidden gem. Me and my mother in law dine here, before going to a show at the Winter Gardens. Explained to waitress we were time limited and they truly honoured this. Food was delicious, service was geniually friendly, and it felt like a nice pre show treat. Manage 2 courses and coffee, the place was fully booked with only 3 visible staff, they did an amazing job.

Visited here with my girlfriend on Monday, nice food and very nice interior however service was disappointing, we were served by the Italian man and he was just a little rude, it started with my girlfriend sitting on the outside seat and me sitting on the inside, he stared awkwardly for around 5 seconds and told her she needs to move up and sit face to face with me, fair enough he was joking but it was just a little rude and awkward let people sit where they want, then we asked for a recommendation of either lasagna or carbonara, he continued to tell us what they both were explaining lasagna is sheets of pasta etc, however this isn’t what we wanted to know we wanted a recommendation so we said again what one would you recommend he just looked at us and said “yes” now I understand this may be due to the fact English isn’t his first language but when later on he made rude comments it confused me on how he is able to use sarcasm in English but not able to make a recommendation. He asked us what our plans were for the night I went to respond and tell him and he just says oh it’s Monday everywhere’s shut so nothing, now amazingly everywhere wasn’t shut after the meal so he’s incorrect but also he’s not really asking a question hes just wanting to make a smug remark and put a downer on our night, they then bring us a desert menu (that we haven’t asked for) and then leave the menus for around 20 mins before him returning to see what we would like, I tell him no I’m fine to which he responds come on it’s raining outside what else are you going to do, yet again putting a downer on our night, and then I again have to explain I don’t want a desert I never eat desert when drinking alcohol, so he brings us our bill and there’s a couple of sweets on the plate the bill is on, I make an observation to break the awkwardness of his serving saying oh there a nice touch to which he replies you can’t have them you don’t eat sweet things with alcohol, it’s just a little rude don’t get me wrong I think he was trying to be a good server but he just wasn’t reading that we didn’t enjoy his remarks, we were on a date night we didn’t want a three way date but he was just very apparent in our evening he could not apply parmesan cheese to our food without making it awkward, not what we want at all.

If you dislike your kids enough to take them to Blackpool you don’t need to go down the chips and Doughnuts route, as there is a really nice Italian restaurant hidden behind the Tower. The atmosphere is great and the food was excellent and great value. The staff are really friendly, although the main waiter fancied himself as a bit of a comedian, which isn’t a bad thing I suppose. Overall we had a great experience, it’s a shame about the rest of Blackpool which is a massive dump.

Surprisingly good. Whenever it claims "home made" on the menu, this actually seems to be true. Excellent service too, got the balance between attentive and intrusive in the right place.

I have no words to describe the service and dishes we ate with my family. So delicious that I had to use a piece of my children's pizza to continue enjoying the leftover sauce from pasta with shrimps. Personally, I would drink this sauce from the plate, but my shirt was too light and it would be a shame to stain it 😘 I will 100 and one percent recommend this restaurant to my friends 👍

Lovely food although felt portions were a little smaller than expected for my Hubby.. Staff were attentive, friendly and professional. The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely fabulous. Good selection of wines. Lovely environment. Definitely worth a visit.

I turned up without a booking . Absolutely delighted to be accommodated as the restaurant was very busy. Service impeccable and without question the food was excellent. Lastly the Negroni cocktail was the best and I’ve had many to judge it buy . I strongly recommend a visit to this restaurant you will not be disappointed but please book !

My partner and I came for a date night. We were seated fairly quickly considering we didn’t have a booking, which was great. However, from there it went down hill. The owner (?) constantly coming over to our table for conversation, and interrupting us for casual chat, and ‘jokes’. Just seems unprofessional. Ordered a starter and a main each, and we can definitely say we have had better. I finished my carbonara with a few forkfuls left in the bowl, and the owner had come round and refused to take our plates until I ate more (?!) thankfully another server took them from us. We planned to also order a dessert, but again the same man refused to take our order saying “that’s not my job”. Beyond disappointing.

Myself and two friends went here on Saturday 6th April for food and drinks before we went watching Paloma Faith. We arrived and were greeted by two lovely men, one took our drinks orders and the other made general conversation with us. An older woman with dark hair took our orders, we each asked for a pizza and a portion of chips but the woman who took the order said that we could have two portions of chips as we would have enough food. It was a bit odd and I explained that we’d appreciate a portion of chips each as we hadn’t eaten all day and were off to a concert afterwards but she insisted two portions of chips were enough. We finished our dessert and a young girl came and asked if we wanted more drinks so we ordered another round of drinks, a few minutes after the older woman who took the food order came over with our bill and explained that we’d need to pay and leave as they were busy and “needed tables”. I had to explain that another staff member had asked if we wanted more drinks and we had ordered another round. I suggested just cancelling the drinks so we could pay the bill and get drinks elsewhere but as the people behind the bar had started pouring the drinks we were asked to sit in the entrance. We paid the bill (which also included a 10% service charge) and it took 15/20 minutes to finish our drinks and our table was still empty as we left. There were people in the restaurant before we had arrived and no one else seemed to have been hurried out. It’s a shame because the other staff members were LOVELY but this woman seemed to want to get rid of us.

EDIT: Their reply says it all😂… Me and my partner attended tonight, waited for 10 minutes for a table which isn’t a problem. We got seated, asked by 3 different waiters for drinks within 5 minutes, felt a messy service. Starter and main came out quickly which was great. Starter and main we felt were very average for a restaurant, we felt we’ve had better at home! Regardless we both finished our dishes. Service was off, one waiter, perhaps the owner (?) was trying too hard, we love a joke however give it a bit of a rest. We want to enjoy our time, not feel pressured to make conversation every time you come over. Regardless, food was ok, atmosphere was great however we won’t be coming back.

We booked last minute on Friday evening with my elderly grandparents for a nice dinner. The only way I can describe the pizzas is frozen supermarket style. They were tasteless.

4 of us out for a last minute meal, we’ve been told this place was worth a visit and it didn’t disappoint. Friendly staff, beautiful food and very reasonable on the wallet too. From the moment we walked in we felt at home, took our coats, the restaurant looked lovely and you could easily think you were in a little Italian village. Absolutely recommend the place and we will definitely be back. Special shout out to Stefano, great sense of humour and made the night so much better. I booked for a party of 10 people before we went to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for a big 'Rock Choir' event. We were made very welcome and the food and service was exceptional. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so pleased we found this lovely hidden gem of a restaurant. Will definitely recommend it.

Wonderful, fun spot with EXCELLENT food and lovely service! Everything we had here - risotto, cannelloni, flatbread and wine - were terrific and very reasonably priced. Our waiter was super fun and the whole place had a very kind vibe. Highly recommended.

First time dining at La Fontana and we really enjoyed our meal last night. Beautifully decorated restaurant, friendly staff and lovely Italian food! *teeny niggle for me - they don’t do White Zinfandel by the glass (bottle only).

Had t visited for a while. Entered and were greeted like old friends. The food & service top class. Certainly won't be so long till our next visit. Never got to ask about the parents who we chatted with on a previous visit.
