Avoid at all cost. Its gone wayyyy downhill. seems like a cost-cutting exercise across the board. There are much better Pizza places around.

My daughter ordered via Uber eats, order taken, over an hour later she received a simple message “order cancelled”. She checked the website and la favorita deliver closed. No apology - nothing. Dreadful customer service, by both parties. You cannot contact Uber eats - there is no option. Just dreadful disregard by both companies - someone some where in both has failed. The fact there is no apology shows the utter disregard that both have for their customers. My advise don’t use either - they have no care or consideration for you - you are simply a number.

The food was terrible the staff were completely unhelpful when approached with issue with food - the pizzas that we ordered were barely in the oven and were cold when served

Garbage, absolute garbage. Ordered a Calzone for collection, came in an oblong box which I thought was weird to start with, anyway opened it up and it’s folded over like a pastie, I have never in my life have been served a pizza in such a way, so I gave it a chance and tried it only to be further disappointed from what was in front of me needless to say it ended up in the bin. Definitely won’t be going there again

Absolutely disgusted with the shambles that I've experienced tonight. Order placed at 18.11 for delivery at 19.00. nothing arrived. Nobody answering the phones. It is now 20.31 and the website is stating that my order is complete? What has happened to this company?

Have twice ordered delivery from La Favorita and there won’t be a third time. Food was cold both times and when texted to say it was on its way it took over 35mins to delivery less than one mile away. Could’ve walked it quicker. Delivery service is awful and I’d recommend you look elsewhere Alex

We stayed in Edinburgh for 3 nights and found this restaurant on our first night, with 2 tired and hot children. The menu choice were amazing with something to suit everyone. The service was great and personal and we thought it so lovely. We returned for the next 2 nights as it was so great.

I ordered 3 Margaritas last night. Called up after 60 minutes to check where my order was, the guy on the phone said that the expected waiting time was 120minutes but as the kitchen was quiet he would have prepared them asap. Called to follow up after half and hours and the pizzas weren't ready yet. Got them after 2 hours and a half, completely cold and the driver even got our address wrong. There's clearly a huge lack of communication between the guy at the front desk and the kitchen. How can you make your customers wait for 2 hours to get 3 pizza? Silly!! I've been ordering and coming to your restaurant hundreds of times and this makes me seriously reconsider all my thoughts about you.An advice: teach your employees to make it right as customers come first!!

If you like food that takes 90mins to be delivered, garlic bread sticking to the top of the box, lukewarm food to the point of inedible made worse by the sauce leaking out the container then this is the place for you. I paid almost £40-(£37 really) and while what was edible was good somehow that makes the experience worse.

I am fed up of spending too much money on orders which are always wrong and missing items. When i try contact this company to get a refund for the items or "additional ingredients" which weren't present they say " we can't do anything about it" terrible service of which now owe us several orders worth of missing items with no refund offered. Very poor service.

I used to love this pizza and I was a regular when they had the take away at Blackhall. I was really looking forward to these pizzas but when I picked them up they were cold and the cheese very salty. I get the feeling that the staff although just back are not very motivated and lacked any leadership. There was a guy at the front door of the shop on his phone with ear buds in who really wasn’t keen to move to allow 2 meters. When I came back for pick up the same guy with ear buds was making up pizza boxes. No rush to give me my pizzas. Really slovenly staff who need a rocket. Get a grip and have the pride you used to. Would not recommend. Give this place and the staff more that 2 meters give them a miss!!

Recently ordered a delivery, which came in the quoted time, and overall was of an excellent standard - pizzas were hot and tasty.Only problem was that in ordering one of the set pizza flavours, I made some additions and subtractions (just changing vegan cheese for regular, and adding two other toppings) but when it turned up, I'd ONLY got the amendments - all the other toppings that were on the standard flavour were missing.I found a contact email address somewhere online and was responded to immediately. Had to give them an extra nudge a few days later as had heard nothing more, and they offered a full refund of the incorrect pizza, which has already come through.So, just wanted to review them to say that yes, things do go wrong, but in my case they made up for it.I can highly recommend their GF pizza bases, hence why I would order again.

I called and requested an email address to complain about the two atrocious pizzas I received. They said they could not provide an email address (why not?) but I would receive a call back to discuss this further. They didn't ring back. I have actually eaten here before and quite enjoyed it. However this was just about the worst pizza I've ever eaten, and I would urge others not to waste their money.

Daughter ordered takeaway at approx 6pm. At 8.30pm still not delivered. Was told 5 mins. At 9.15pm called back to be told can’t track order and customer service not exactly “quality”. Said just cancel. Couple mins later text to say on its way!!? Still no delivery and no refund! Sorry but!!?

The place was amazing. The food was lovely and the prices were alright as well. The staff did a very good job.

I was told when calling in that I am able to use their voucher at the delivered. I made an order and when collecting was told I cannot use it, they did not resolve it. Been a customer for 3years but never going back.

Ordered 6 pizzas on a Friday night from here.All of them overcooked, but one of them was particularly badly burnt. The pizzas arrived so late that we ate what we could rather then try and send them back and wait ages for them to send out again. I requested a refund, initially on the whole order but then only for the very badly burnt one, which I felt was reasonable (it was genuinely like trying to eat charcoal). Took 2 days to respond and point blank refuse to give a refund (insisted on offering me a voucher, which is of no use to me as I will never be ordering from here again). Staff are rude and unhelpful. Would strongly recommend against ordering from here.

Had a great “flying pig” tonight. Beautifully made and delivered on time. This is always the best place to get pizza.

We have ordered take away pizza from La Favorita delivered twice before. At the time we used to eat dairy products and choose them amongst others as their pizza is more similar to the real Italian pizza, accepting the over pricing and all... but last time, as a newly- vegan people, we couldn’t believe that to have vegan cheese we had to pay £2 as if it was an extra, and not an alternative to dairy mozzarella.

Ordered a pizza and some other bits and bobs. All done swiftly and cooked well. Well impressed with the service and just what we needed!

Food delivered an hour after they messaged to say it was on the way. Yip was Stone cold. Ice cream nearly totally defrosted. My calazone was missing parmaham and Parmesan, wrong soft drinks which my daughter scored as she doesn't normally get fizzy drink so wee treat for her! I called to complain staff where rude and disbelieving. They did send out the missing parmaham and Parmesan and a couple of ice creams as a gesture, but a bit late as I had eaten it all before they came back. Its a shame as the pizza is a really good, but ordering is a bit of a hit or miss! Sort it out and be amazing again!

First time we’ve tried La Favorita. Never again. My pizza was a do it yourself job - a basic tomato base with an envelope of Parma ham and a tub of ruccola. The base was soggy and the whole mess was cold. Expensive delivery order now in the bin. Avoid like the plague

I still can’t get over this awful experience. Over the space of 3 hours, we received the incorrect order to the incorrect hotel (there are two Principal hotels in Edinburgh, we did put the full address) When it eventually appeared, it was cold, the wrong pizza and our chicken was missing. We called to advise of this - after a debate with the staff they eventually agreed to send another.

Ordered two pizzas, large bottle of juice, ice - cream and salad. Wrong pizza. Wrong juice. Sent juice back and despite calling three times I am still waiting on a refund. Will not use again. Much better options elsewhere.

This is a one dish review because it will bring me back again (and again). Perfect scallops and wonderful garlic prawns, dressed with a little salad. On their "special menu card". Best I've eaten for a long time!

This place used to be the best place to order a takeaway pizza - sadly no longer - pizza late and unedible and customer service non existent. Shame as it’s a service and product that is needed in edinburgh and although it used to deliver I would say it’s now la Favorita non delivered

Ordered a GF pizza with vegan cheese.Took over an hour to arrive (although status was updated to 'delivered' 20 minutes before it arrived). When it eventually got here it was stone cold and soggy. Cheese was watery and mushy and just glooped off the base. Hands down, worst pizza I have ever had. Went straight in the bin. So disappointed.

Until recently could get pizza delivered to EH10 7 postcode from the local Morningside branch, it took a while to be delivered, but was always worth the wait. The recently it came delivered from Portabello (pizza started arriving cold). Now, no delivery at all. Looking at the recent reviews, it looks like La Favorita dropped off the cliff of excellence. A sad, sad situation.

Three items were missing from my order this evening. I phoned to ask for the money for the items to be credited to my card. It took ten minutes plus to get through. I was told they had realised the items were missing and that they were about to be delivered ... I said I would prefer a refund ....especially since one was a salad and I had already made another one. I was told no can do. Another 10mins later the doorbell rang ...two of the three items were delivered. This “take away” set me back over £50. What appalling customer service. Avoid at all costs.

Ordered much in advance, and while the food arrived on time, the lid of my pasta had not been put on properly and had leaked out inside the drivers bag. Having ordered about 2/3 hours in advance I decided not to call and complain and proceed to wait another hour for my food so accepted it and hoped for the best.

Ordered two pizzas and calimari on Saturday night. Eventually delivered, nearly cold and pretty tasteless, 1h45min after order.

Visited this restaurant while staying over the weekend in Edinburgh. We had a party of ten and had pre-booked the table. We were met by Adam who showed us to our table. During our visit he was so attentive in all aspects of service. There was a great atmosphere and the food was varied. Prices were competitive. Will be back for sure.

Pre-ordered this pizza for delivery 2 hours in advance. It arrived 20 minutes late and was cold and soggy.

La Favorita used to have a wonderful delivery shop in Blackhall which we used regularly. Everything was always hot, fresh and tasty as well as more authentic than many take away pizzas. I tried to order more last night only to find it had been closed. The only places left open are Leith and Portobello but still deliver to my area. However what arrived was dreadful. The pizzas were lukewarm and the calamari was soggy.

Nearly 3 hours for food to be delivered. No apology until the third phone call. Ordered at 8.24 food delivered at 11.13 pm. Asked for my money back when I called at 11pm, which for some reason surprised them. apparently it has to be sent to customer care for "possibly" a refund. Disgusting service. Who wants to eat at 11.30. My friends had to leave with no food as their last bus home was at 11.30. Emailed with complaint no reply as yet. The decent thing would be to refund as no one ate their food. I won't be ordering from their again and will certainly be telling my friends to be vary of spending a lot of money with the potential for no dinner and no real genuine apology . I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they said their was "printer error" but 3 hours is just quite frankly terrible and I should have been offered my money back as a matter of decency. AVOID.

The delivery was supposed to happen in an hour. The pizza arrived another 30 minutes later, cold, poorly cooked and with some flour on top. Reaching them on the phone to have an update was an ordeal. Won't be ordering again.

This is the fourth delivery i have had from here. To three different addresses. The first three times the delivery driver tried to con us by upping the actual price. When i called to complain I was sent from pillar to post and ended up getting hung up on. The fourth time i was delivered the wrong food. When i called to tell them they said “sorry but the pasta chief had left would that meal do us”. To which I replied no I have a tomato allergy. They did give me a full refund but i will be going to bed hungry. Next time ill just cook my self And avoid deliveries from here. More trouble than the food is good so thats that.

The 3rd time wee got a take away it was 3hours late and they got told to take it back .6 months later wee gave them another try and they where half an hour and they double charged us that was 2weeks ago and still not been refunded back yet

We had 2 pizzas delivered to our hotel after a long day of touring. This place was recommended by hotel. The pizzas came and they were uncut!! How are hotel guests expected to cut up pizzas....crazy. besides that the crust was mushy and toppings would not stay on pizza. This was probably the worst pizza I've ever had. And beware...pepperoni is big slices of salami and sausage is some kind of hot dog slices. Ugh, just the memory makes me shudder.

Promised ASAP and within an hour on website. Took 1 hour and 20. Complained after 1 hour 10. Held on the phone, manager explained they were busy. Promised a voucher as compensation. Why would I want a voucher? Manager insisted voucher was only compensation. No voucher forthcoming yet. Pizza arrived cold. Calamari soggy and cold.

La Favorita’s pizzas are delicious. Me and my boyfriend are a regular delivery customers (as much try to cut down .. haha). At the moment we’re into the regular Margherita with extra buffalo mozzarella. I am gluten intolerant and they have excellent gluten free based (probably the best in town). You can customise your base from regular to well cooked/crispy. It never get disappoints and the staff is always available and problem solving in case of any ordermisunderstanding or mix up. I definitely recommend La Favorita delivered’s pizza :)

I visited with my brother, Mum, and my young baby. The staff that day were so so friendly. The seating outside was perfect because it was a lovely day outside.

After a trip to Italy and trying many take away pizzas and restaurants. La Favorita nails an authentic Italian experience. Highly recommended. I was also blown away when I heard of how much they support social causes and last winter delivered pizzas to hostels/B&B;'s and rough sleepers across Edinburgh so not only do they serve up the best Italian food (especially pizza) they also have a social conscience.

Too long wait, 40 mins even though it's only 1 mile away. Pizza was not cut, but also the whole topping had to be prepared by us at home when it was delivered, they were in a separate bag (and I don't mean the sauces). I think the worst thing was that the pizza was cold. We did not expect this lack of quality from la Favorita. The price was too high for the quality.

Not a good night for the La Fav team!

I've been a customer for years now, and usually rave about La Favorita's pizzas... however, our order arrived late and there was no apology for this. I do appreciate it was a busy Saturday night, but the pizza was disappointing to say the least. It was cold and soggy. The chicken starter which came with a BBQ dip was disgusting and had to be binned after biting in and discovering the meat inside was actually raw. This is unacceptable and a health hazard. We won't be ordering again.

Put an order in on Saturday afternoon to there Morningside branch and was told delivery would take an hour. After waiting over an 1hr 20mins the delivery driver appeared, when I questioned where he'd been he advised the chef never turned up at morningside so the food order was prepared and delivered from Leith... I received no phone call to advise of the situation or given the opportunity to cancel my order. When I received the food it was stone cold and chewy, not a pleasant meal for my partner and I. I have phone on 4 occasions and everytime someone is supposed to get back to me asap but to date no contact at all which I find frustrating. I will not be using La Favorita again.

This is my second time in a row Lav Fav messed up. Firstly a few weeks ago my order was stone cold and had to be reheated in the oven, I complained and got a voucher.. Far enough. Last night was having a movie night with my young daughter. Had ordered the kids pizza deal for her. They delivered the ice cream, drink and my pizza but not hers! Very disappointed 5 year old. Delivery driver looked frustrated and apologised about said he will be back in 10 minutes. Sure enough he was back with her pizza and a second helping of ice cream and a drink. Good apology. It's a shame as the pizzas are fantastic, they must have some operational issues with staff. Hopefully they can sort them out and be great again.

Two out of four pizzas were wrong and I wouldnt normally complain that much but they were terrible: one had eggs and some kind of veggie that was tasteless and the other one had so many jalapeños we had to eat it with milk by our side.

Was out working and was hungry stopped at this place to grab a pizza was fantastic service was was 5 star and if I could give more for pizza I would bet meat feast I have ever tasted well worth a try

We ordered from La Favorita via the web as we had heard positive things about it from a lot of reviewers. The delivery time was maybe a little long but the quality of pizza was pretty good and stuck to the authentic Italian model with a very nice base and just enough toppings so as to not be overpowering, the extra Parmesan is a nice addition too.

Have visited and ordered from La Favorita for years. Standard of food has gone vastly downhill however the prices have not. Pizzas delivered this evening were of cardboard consistency, covered in tomato purée, little or no cheese and the topping requested seemed to be missing or sparse. £12 for a 10 inch pizza - no never again! Don't even want to eat it.

The Pizza is nice and they do a lot of nice offers. Unfurtunately i've got the wrong pizza delivered twice. The fixed it with sending the right pizza right after but it's a bit of a shame if you're hungry

Prices up, quantity and quality down. Have had a number of poorly cooked deliveries. Finally given up after being a regular for 5 years. Pizza bases are poor quality now, pasta tastes reheated.

Ordered some pizza as takeaway and it only took around 15 minutes until they were done. The pizza was pretty good, not the best one, but all the ingredients seemed to be really fresh and there was not too much dough, always a plus. Also the lady in the shop was lovely and really helpful.

Really disappointed hardly any toppings not good value for £23. Two tiny pizzas mostly dough. Used to be good value not any more will not be using again local chippy much better and half the price.

Ordered from them before but tonight the pancetta in the calzone was 100 percent fat, the sausage tasted like it was old, and the meatballs are horrible. What a waste of money.

For two nights running we ordered some pizza delivered from La Favourita. They pay such attention to the detail of the pizza toppings that they put great thought into things like: how do you stop rocket wilting in the delivery bag. How do we ensure that the desert arrives warm and/or not spilling over the place.

it's just the best pizza. both to sit in and take away. pretty reasonable too. get on it. seriously.

2 hour delivery, poor quality food, no one answers the phone or lets you know they have a problem and things are going to be late.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and at their other venues such as Vittoria and Divino.

We got back from a wedding in Europe so decided to call for Pizza. Bad idea ordering from La Fav. The order took over 1 hour called to complain and was asured the food will be hot, the pizza was cold and our aranchini balls look like they were thrown in the box. I did not call them back as we were both tired and hungry.

This place used to be awesome but they've invested all their money in wee cars and have forgotten why they used to be so successful......the best pizza in Edinburgh.

Manager has apologised for burnt edges but pizza had more burnt buts than found edges. There were burnt buts all over and it was very dry. I am not the type to complain unless really bad food and service. Burnt edges would not make me complain.

If pizza was supposed to be liquid than I'd recommend this place. The pizza came literally soggy, no sauce and all the toppings slipped off. Tasteless, unsatisfactory and completely not worth the £13 they charged. Avoid.

I've ordered a lot from these guys. 7 times and 5 times they've delivered the wrong thing. They even put meat on a vegetarian pizza. Just don't bother, it's not worth it.

This place has the option to use a vegan pizza, great for vegans or lactose intolerants. We loved it the base and crust was really good, toppings were fresh and the vegan cheese was delicious.

I had pizza Calzone , was good. Wife had pasta with espargus , artichoke , mushrooms & truffle oil. Portion was huge but a bit repetitive. Starters were delicious , we had bruschetta and small rice balls. Price was average.

Una pizza de 4 ingredientes 19 libras??cuando la más cara (las ya diseñadas) de la carta era de 14???...la única repuesta que obtuve es que estaba añadiendo 4 ingredientes!whattt????pero si las ya diseñadas tienen 6 ingredientes...acabe escogiendo una de las que tenían en carta y pagado 12 libras...NO al abuso en los restaurantes!

A typical Scottish Italian restaurant - beautifully finished, abundantly staffed, not inexpensive but well worth a visit. The usual selection of pizzas and pastas are on offer but the quality of the food - wow! Superb pizza. One of the best I've ever had anywhere. Highly recommended.

Got some spicy salami pizza... One slice for £7.50 to be exact. I was floored that they were charging so much. Where you can go to Dhillons and get an entire pizza for £1. Good, but not £7.50 good.

We ordered a pizza last week that was meant to Have italian sausage and mushrooms .... We were very dissapointed as There were Only a few slices of each ( 5 or 6 ) in a 16 inch pizza.... Ended up adding our own stuff to make it more tastie. Wont order again and of course i wont recomend it to anyone.

I ordered the fire and smoke pizza (vegetarian) which was delicious, especially the smoked mozzarella on it. If you're like me and are staying in a hotel and don't have cutlery to hand, make sure you get them to cut it for you. A great touch that they deliver until 3.

We got a takeaway from here. We ordered online which was quick and easy. I like thst they send you a text to advise when it will arrive. It arrived quickly and was piping hot. It was very tasty and I love that it was stone baked. It is very reasonably priced compared to other pizza takeaways. My only problem is that they don't cut the pizzas for you. We got the biggest pizza so it was quite an inconvenience to cut as it didn't quite fit on our kitchen worktop and we don't have a pizza cutter. It would be nice if they could cut it for you.

Being a Leither, Im a big fan of the la favourita chain. Even more so as their pizzas and pasta are gluten free and taste fab. The parma ham pizza is my fave.

Oh the food is always so good! I do need to call then to order as their website doesn't seem to recognise my address as somewhere they deliver or tries to have another branch deliver to me despite me being about 3 mins away.

After hearing that they have refurbished I thought I would give them a try again. I wish I hadn't. I wasted a lot of money on floppy, soggy pizza and cardboard.

Lasagne contained pink meat very undercooked and I felt the sauce was masking the pink meat... luckily I did not eat this...

It used to be our favourite pizza in Edinburgh. Used to.... Over the last few months we were very disappointment with the quality. We either received cold pizza, half-rotten rocket in the bag or some toppings were missing.

Ordered two pizzas and some sides. Pizzas were a bit cold on arrival which was a shame. However the sides were the real problem.

I have been eating La Favorita's pizzas for many years and the were wonderful, until they opened their takeaway. Disgusting supermarket-quality pizzas - thick undercooked dough, delivered cold, for around £12 per pizza. Never again!

Pizza was cold and chewy. Not very good experience. We chose collect ourselves option-pizza was done in 1 minute. We live 4-5 minutes from restaurant. So seems if you want to get warm pizza-you need to live next door to restaurant. Could be some option to choose collection time.

Truly must be the best pizza in Edinburgh, I've eaten a lot of pizza in Edinburgh. Always brilliant!

Prese 3 pizze da 14'', pagate circa 12 sterline ciascuna e alla fine ci siamo ritrovati con 3 pizze da 10'' una "ricamata" (con un buco in mezzo) e di qualità media.

awesome range of deep fried goods... top chips too... dont forget to have salt & sauce (edinburghs version of salt & vinniger).

We regularly get gluten free pizza from here. It's great! We do always ask for it to be extra crispy as first time it was a we bit soft. Best gluten free pizza in Edinburgh in our opinion.
