So, let me explain...my previous review below was the truth....back then. Since then, La Favorita has declined and is more consistently disappointing rather than the best they used to be. We order at least once a week, every week. The pizza consistency is now awful. Last night it was more of a light, thin tasteless dough. Last week there was extra semolina on the base and a lot darker. Sometimes it's thicker, sometimes its thinner. The chicken tenders have varied wildly over the last 4 weeks. Sometimes small and lots, sometimes 3, sometimes 4 larger ones. Some overcooked and really brown, some lighter...in the same box....! It's really disappointing. Looking at the website, you can not place an order for collection! I wanted to contact them direct to leave feedback, but the constant pop-up advising no collection and have i contacted the store, only to reveal there is only 1 store now. This just annoyed me more. Given there are 3 brand new pizza places, actually closer to me than Leith Walk and 2 of them get much better reviews, I've always been loyal to La Favorita, but it's being tested every time now. I don't know how or why you've lost your mojo, consistency, love, quality, chefs or whatever it is. The secret to any successful business is do something good, consistently and leave it simple. You don't see award winning restaurants or take-aways churning out massive menu's. You go anywhere in Europe and the award winning, massively popular places are the ones that focus on doing a small number of things, really well. It feels like you are churning out pizzas, toppings indiscriminately thrown on, you use to put oregano on, this stopped. Last night, only 2 slices had all of the allocated red chilli, the others no chilli. It's just sloppy. The dough is massively inconsistent. Putting differently coloured chicken tenders in the same order is just wrong. I'm going to leave my previous review below, This is how you are. Below is how you were. Please get better. 2 Years ago............ I can't fault La Favorita, their pizzas are the best I've ever had, outisde of Italy. The smokey wood fired taste, the base, touch of oregano, the quality of ingredients are genuinely mouth-watering. Having had quite a few deliveries, I find collection is the best method. I have noted that they have reheating instructions on the box now. I do pop it in the oven for 2 or 3 mins on a pizza stone after collecting it, unless it was fresh out of the oven. To be completely honest, I would eat it cold for breakfast too. It's a shame they no longer sell the chicken broccolli pasta and I don't find their arancini that good. The last few times, they have been overcooked and far too expensive for what you get. The calamari has been excellent on occasion, on others, not the best. I find their pizzas are mostly consistently excellent. Having tried many others in the area, there is no competition. Apart from their garlic bread, I have found somewhere that I prefer but the pizzas.....faultless.

Love this place despite the poor reviews recently the food is exceptional and service second to none. Disappointed they no longer accept collection orders only delivery. I’m outside the local area so it’s no longer an option for takeaway. Would recommend it to others but sadly probably won’t be able to enjoy it anymore.

Amazing pizza, brilliant service, really fast, professional, clean and a huge variety of products. I would recommend this place as well the best pizza place in Leith area and surroundings.

Order was incorrect. Sent two pizzas instead of a pizza and a pasta. This compounded an order that was 40 minutes later than projected. Couldn't get in touch to complain via phone as phones were off. Poor quality ingredients. Cheese and salami were not good and the base was chewy. Expensive too. Really poor.

I used to go here every Friday evening to pick up a large vesuvio pizza for only £10, but they have really gone downhill in the last year or so. The pizzas are smaller now, they've gotten rid of my favorite one, they skimp out on toppings. I understand if inflation is the reason for cutting corners, but the worst part is that they are just sloppy. You can tell by the haphazard cut of the slices and the placement of the toppings that they take no pride in what they do, and that doesn't cost extra money. It's a shame :/

Terrible customer service. Received the wrong order twice in one week. When calling to explain no apology offered and asked for fresh chips as the others would be cold whilst waiting on replacement pasta , I was told to have the wrong pasta ready to hand back which is fine and would have to charge for the chips. Unbelievable

Terrible service - no one answered the phone and our delivery never turned up. Wouldn’t recommend.

Took exactly 3 hrs between order confirmation and the door bell ringing. Had time to call a dozen times, with not 1 answer, walk round to the shops, buy a pizza, cook it, eat it and then la fav arrived stone cold. There are several superior quality pizza places in town that don’t have the consistent ordering, delivery and service problems of La Fav. Do yourself a favour and use one of them.

Delivery is always late at least 30-35min and when called to ask what’s happening, staff is always very rude and says “they don’t know when it will arrive”. Today as not an exception. Women on the phone wouldn’t even say sorry. She just said “I don’t know”

It is one of the best Italian woodfired pizza i have tasted in Edinburgh. Will surely try it again.

Soggy, undercooked pizza. Topping slid off when picked up. Uncooked dough underneath. Pretty horrible.

Oh how the mighty have fallen - placed an order 17:45 on a Thursday night with La Favorita through UberEats. After 1.5hr wait for a 10” pizza I called and was told my order was on the way. After 2hr wait I called again and the story had changed “there has been a mix-up and the order is being remade and delivered”. No apology or explanation. 5yrs ago I wouldn’t have ordered pizza from anywhere else, these days it’s anywhere but La Favorita.

Excellent customer service and food! I completely made a mistake when I ordered for delivery, my fault entirely and despite this, my pizza was replaced. They completely went above and beyond. Thank you so much.

19/03 As the first review says when hot it’s the best pizza in town but it’s now just cold on delivery, then to get a refund it’s several phone calls whilst waiting on the cold food to be collected. Old Is the best pizza in town ... when it’s hot. The number of times I order and it’s barley warm is very surprising when everything from the group is normally perfect.

Had to wait 2 hours & ten mins for a home Delivery not good service at all .

The worst pizza I've had since....the last time I had La Favorita delivered 2 years ago, apparently I had to remind myself why I don't order delivery from here. I struggle to reconcile how one restaurant group can summarily have my favoritate Italian restuarant (Vittoria's) and the worst pizza delivery service in Edinburgh. The food was quoted as arriving in 60 minutes....it took an hour and a half and when it arrived the food was either cold or lukewarm; no one else in Edinburgh has ever delivered my pizza this cold. Asked for pre-sliced pizza and it was not, which is minor but shows that they are clearly just skimming the orders not actually reading them. No notificaiton that our order was going to be late or an apology; ordered on a Tuesday evening as well so not even a traditionally busy night where you would expect delays. Don't waste your money.

Considering the situation of these days, the collection has been easy. They have been very kind and accurate. The pizza and the "glorious"calzone are excellent as usual. Fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked.

Fresh ingredients all cooked to order and one of the best calzones I've eaten in quite some time! Food was still hot when it was delivered.

Ordered 2 pizzas, 2 calamari spending the best part of £40. It's my 10 year old son's birthday and two and half hours later still no food. It's now past their bedtime and whwn the food eventually arrived it was awful. Stone cold pizza and inedible calamari. Having phoned numerous times I've still yet to hear anything back. Hugely disappointed seeing as my son is really upset and it's too late to do anything food wise to make up for it. Been going here for years and I'm italian myself and even know many of the staff so this review isn't something I'm happy to have to do but am really not happy at all.

ordered two pizzas and 2 hours later still waiting for them( although estimated delivery time was 35min). Called the shop and were told it will be another 40 min due to them being busy. What'd the point of ordering takeway when you have to wait 3h for it???

The food is good but not exceptional. Unfortunately closing Blackhall has had a negative impact on the delivery times and quality.

The service at Leith is lazy unfriendly and poor compared to what was excellent at Blackhall.

Got very disappointed with the service you provide after being your customer for 5 years on regular basis.
