We recently visited this Italian restaurant in Arundel without a reservation, but the host was friendly and quickly arranged a table for us, which was appreciated. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a cozy vibe that added to the experience. For starters, we had garlic bread topped with Parmesan cheese, which was delicious—a real highlight. I ordered the Pasta Alfonso, which was flavorful and light, just right for a lunch portion. My friends, however, had the pasta with crab and weren’t as satisfied with their choice. While I enjoyed my meal, I would have liked salt and pepper on the table or offered alongside the dishes to adjust the flavors to my preference. The staff who served us were friendly, but some seemed a bit tired, and the overall hospitality didn’t quite reach the level of attentiveness we’d hoped for. In the end, while I enjoyed parts of the meal, I’ll likely try another restaurant next time. This spot is decent if you’re looking for a casual Italian meal, but it may not be the best choice if you’re looking for a more polished dining experience.

This is a stunning place to have a meal, fantastic service and authentic Italian food, personally the best I have had outside of Italy itself. Make sure you book in advance, we were very lucky and grabbed the last table for two available (the team were extremely accommodating, despite being very busy). But do yourself a favour, book in advance and enjoy the experience.

We celebrated my son's anniversary with a family lunch for 10. I have to say it was absolutely great. We had a table for 10, plenty of room and were given plenty of time between courses. We all enjoyed the food and wine. The service was friendly and well judged. It is a cosy old restaurant with lots of atmosphere, much better than the many chains. We will definitely be back and heartily recommend.

Wonderful restaurant. First visit and certainly will not be the last. We choose the 3 course lunch menu which was fantastic value. Food was delicious, the potato and leek soup was the best I've eaten. Patê was lovely, my fish was very nice and the cannelloni my wife is still raving about how fresh it tasted. Deserts were both superb. Staff were very helpful and service was great thank you Jasmine.

Wednesday special fish night. Exceptional food. Free glass of prosecco. My partner and I both chose different dishes. We couldn't fault any part of the meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate and staff were friendly and welcoming. This restaurant deserves to flourish. We were on holiday but if I lived in Arundel it would be a weekly event. I had read the reviews prior to coming here and was amazed by the huge differences between them. I have always wanted to try out this place and I was not disappointed. A gentleman seated me , very friendly and speaking a mixture of Italian and English- he was actually Italian. As time for me was a bit limited I stuck to the lunch menu - 2 courses for £17 which I thought was quite reasonable given the location. The atmosphere is friendly and very continental with rows of Italian spirits and wines, some tea towels with Italian themes and various pieces of original art on the walls. I ordered the chicken pate to start which came with garlic bread, what looked and tasted like a homemade pickle and a fresh mixed salad. Delicious and generous starter. My main course was the goats’ cheese salad with the biggest chunk of cheese I have ever seen, hot and bubbling with crispy edges. This also came with a huge mixed salad, plus croutons, avocado and toasted pine nuts. I really don’t know how I managed to eat it all! I didn’t order anything to drink but I lovely cold bottle of water was put on the table. I can’t wait to go again with my family as I saw others diners’ food and everything looked amazing and generous.

Visited from London for the weekend and had some of the best Italian I've had in years. Delicious nduja pasta

Lovely little Italian restaurant. Could tell it was great the moment we walked in and smelt the aroma. Friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed the food. I had the gambiae and a pizza which were excellent very good pizza base very authentic Italian. My partner had roast Mediterranean vegitables and chicken wrapped in bacon in a tomato sauce. Very generous portions. I would fully recommend it.

Celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary at the hotel opposite this restaurant was a huge disappointment, BUT we managed to book into La Campania the following night and were treated to the most wonderful three course meal. The welcome we received, and the service, was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and would 100% recommend. They even boxed my left over bread so I could toast it for breakfast the next morning at the hotel opposite!!! It was delicious 😋

Delicious, authentic, Italian food right in the heart of Arundel. We both opted for fish - fillet of seabass and a whole seabream, both sublime. The service was great, friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had a lovely meal here on a busy Friday night. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a great vegan menu as well as lots of other choice. Would recommend booking as they were turning people away when we went. Highly recommend!

Service was brilliant, food was extremely hot and well cooked, and ended up not being as expensive as originally thought, very nice place for a date or celebration etc.

I took my husband there as a treat for his 80th birthday. Such lovely people, he even had a candle and rendition of Happy Birthday. The food was divine, wine superb and we had outside intimate setting. It's our go to anyway when in Arundel but it was extra special yesterday. Thank you so much

We had no reservation but were offered a table in the garden which was lovely. Had garlic bread mozzarella and meatballs to start followed by pollo funghi and salmon in dill sauce. Both meals were delicious. With two large Pinot Grigio and a large Peroni, the bill was about £90 including service charge. Great service as well.

La Campania is a great little restaurant in Arundel! You won't go wrong if you want a pleasant, well made sit down meal. We enjoyed our food -they were tasty. I couldn't finish my main as the portion size was generous. We each had a starter and a pasta main. The other dishes look really delicious and fresh as well. Their fish night and lunch menus are very popular! The service was thoughtful but seemed busy for the amount of staff.

We have been to quite a few Italian restaurants around England, over the past 5 year. This is possibly THE BEST. The food is FRESH, and authentic Italian, it snot cheap nasty sauces covered in salt. The Milanese, pollo funghi, and even down to the half portion of pasta for our child was delicious. Heading back next weekend

I've never truly been a huge fan of UK Italian food but this place is fabulous! So tasty, great choice, huge portions! We were a table of 6 and everyone's dishes were excellent. Highly recommend & will definitely return.

1st time here but definitely not the last. Great food and very friendly and professional staff and servers. Fair prices too, given the quality of everything that we experienced. A simple but very tasty caramelised onion Pizza to share as a starter, A chicken main dish and a lovely Lasagne main dish and two bottles of cider. Approx 60 pounds including service. Well worth a visit.

I liked it here. Our staters were ok. The wine was ok. My main was ok…..the service was ok.. Problem was my wife’s Risotto was so undercooked, almost raw rice in parts..….so we sent it back after the first mouthful and it came back half the size, and blisteringly hot (microwaved?)….and er, it was dreadful…. It’s a shame really, because their efforts to accommodate vegan diners was great and this place would have become our “go to” when we visited Arundel. Such a shame…only saving grace was they forgot to add on the second bottle of wine we had…perhaps it was to make up for the dreadful Risotto….

What a lovely restaurant, so much choice on the menu. Catered for gluten free needs very well. Food delicious. Staff very accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Booked last minute, cheeky midweek post walk @ 9pm with the hubby. Lovely setting with a happy, contented atmosphere, VERY VERY tasty fresh food that you can see being made (depends where you are sat), good portion size, attentive service, Thank you lovely finish to our evening. We will be back.

This is closest I've come to beautifully authentic Italian food in England. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant.

We had a day trip to Arundel and search this restaurant on gg map. Luckily for us, we got a table without waiting and people here are very nice to support us. The foods are delicious, I tried the pasta with crab meat (a half portion but equal to normal dish), finished all with 100% happy with the taste. Highly recommended!

The staff were amazing, 10/10. Unfortunately, the food was dry, and no one asked about it. It wasn't the best vegan food we've had. We will be back and will give it another try.

Garlic bread old crusts with dubious cheese on top. Main courses sent back. Pollo dry and overdone. Lasagne more like soup than the lovely layered dish it should b, Americanos tepid and overly strong.

We decided to start our holiday with an Italian meal on the first evening. La Campania has a lovely atmosphere, we were greeted warmly at the door even though the greeter was carrying something to a table. There is a wide choice of food on both menus and the portions were big, so big in fact that by the time we had finished our mains we did not have room for dessert which was a shame as they looked lovely. It might have something to do with falling for the cheesy garlic bread to start with though and we would not have missed that. Service was attentive without being intrusive. During the time that we were there, the restaurant filled up but the service level was maintained. I can certainly recommend La Campania.

Brilliant food and fairly priced, I had cannelloni, which was the best thing I've eaten in a restaurant in ages, really nice desert which was also plant based which was a bonus. Great menu (with good vegan range), I really like the relaxed atmosphere, I'd definitely go here again.

visiting Arundel with friends and popped into this Italian restaurant for lunch. A great two course menu for £17.00 A wide variety of dishes on offer. Everyone enjoyed the fish and pasta meals. A good atmosphere and friendly service. would definitely return.

We went here for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was almost full. A good sign. We decided to have a la carte, rather than the lunchtime special. I had the seafood pizza, which had plenty of seafood and was excellent. My wife had a carbonara, which was also excellent. By the time we had eaten these we were too full to think about dessert, so I simply had an esspresso. Very enjoyable meal, good service and well organised.

Fantastic food and the lunch time specials menu makes this an essential lunchtime location when visiting Arundel. Service with a smile and nothing too much trouble.

Our third lunch/dinner visit. A truly beautiful family lunch today. Wonderful service. Amazing menu choice including a full vegan menu. Scallops, prawns and moules starters. Risotto marinara, sea bass & risotto salmone/prawn for mains. Great wine selection. We will return without hesitation.

For my wife and I, two very good pasta dishes followed by lovely deserts. Our waitress was excellent, as was the service level generally.

Fantastic Italian Must book in advance to save disappointment

Did not book but was told they would fit us in as the booked table had a 2 hour gap. Ordered wine and two pizzas. Two pizzas were served quickly however one had the wrong topping. They apologised repeatedly as wrong order button had been pressed. This meant I had to wait for the correctly ordered pizza. I sat and watched my husband eat as slowly as possible. There were lots of apologies when they brought my order. This unfortunately destroyed the anniversary meal we had imagined having. We didn’t have any dessert as I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. As for the pizzas they are beautifully cooked, light and tasty. I would add on receiving the bill a 10% service charge automatically added which I paid just to leave, although on this occasion given the service was flawed.

What a little gem in the heart of Arundel. Extensive menu and a good value set menu. Not tight with the portions and the quality of food was excellent as was the service from the staff. A restaurant that must be visited you won't be disappointed.

I had the nduja rigatoni and it was really nice! Great portions. The tiramisu was good. Very nice atmosphere for a dinner.

We were staying in Arundel and found the kitchen of the pub we were staying at was temporarily closed. I phoned La Campania on the off chance they might have a table last Saturday night. We were extremely lucky, as the very friendly and helpful person who answered my call said they had just had a cancellation, so off we went. The restaurant as indeed full, however we were seated quickly and service was excellent. Lovely authentic Italian food, lovely staff, lovely ambience. We were SO lucky to get a table in this great restaurant on a Saturday night. And of course, we will be going again next time we're in Arundel. Only this time I'll book in advance!

Lovely family run restaurant. Proper Italian food!

Visit during a busy lunchtime (Goodwood weekend), no reservation but able to get the last table for two. Very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff, although they were sometimes distracted (very busy). Good selection on the wine list and suited the menu well. Kitchen was prompt and our dishes (Cannelloni and Spaghetti Bolognesi) were hot, well seasoned and delicious. We finished with traditional Italian ice cream. Overall a really good experience. We are not really local to Arundel, but will definitely go again, probably for dinner.

Part of the staff is really friendly but they take longer to serve you and assist you. Reserve at least 2-3 hours for 3 simple meals. A nice restaurant doesn’t leave your clients with a big gap. It’s just annoying. You feel stressed trying to reach any waiter. The food is too much spicy and could be better prepared if they put less peppers in everything. The atmosphere is loud and not pleasant at all. I don’t recommend this restaurant. We both had stomach issues straight forward after our lunch there.

We love Arundel. Many years ago it was the place of our honeymoon. After a lovely walk around the town, the restaurant staff were very friendly and provided us with a vegan menu. The food was delivery quickly and it was delicious. We had a great conversation with the person who introduced the vegan options. Lovely atmosphere. We hope to visit again.

Great tasty Italian plates and pizza!

Such patient and pleasant service on a really busy Easter weekend. Down to earth in a relaxed way but properly Italian - will be back for the tiramisu (or the banoffee pie).

Celebrating a birthday and a new baby, was told to shoosh by a miserable staff member when we started to sing happy birthday. Food wasn’t great. Roasted veg greasy, no flavour to the chicken. Mussels were overcooked and the sauce they were served in was like custard. Bill was £400. Won’t be back

Very nice Italian restaurant. Good prices. When we went, on Thursday, they were selling steaks at half price (and a lot were ordered!) and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and quick. Real Italians worked there and the food was lovely. The sauces were brilliant - I had the spaghetti carbonara and it is one of the dishes they are renowned for. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

A large group of us had lunch in La Campania after doing a walking tour of the town. We had pre ordered. They sat us at three large tables in a separate room. All the food and drink arrived on time. It was hot tasty and all of us were delighted. It was a fantastic range of food and drink and it all hit the spot

So many vegan options which are great. Staff attentive without getting in the way of conversation. Large wine menu. Normal menu is also large and we have always liked the food. Pizzas are a popular choice.

Nice environment and wine. Small sea bass portions unnecessarily swamped in tomato sauce. Off attitude generally from the male waiter who didn’t seem that bothered and it came across as such. Disappointed as we were looking forward given what we’ve heard about the restaurant.

We were so lucky to get a table for 2 on a busy Saturday night and we had a really lovely evening. The food was fabulous, the staff were perfectly attentive and so friendly, we will definitely return.....thank you!

We were lucky enough to get a table on Fish Night - at 6pm. The place soon filled, so we knew we had chosen the right place. Our table was immediately in front of the cooking area so we were able to see the busy, but well organised kitchen. Our prawns, mussels and scallop starters were very good. These were followed with crab linguine, salmon and sea bream - all served with vegetables and were delicious. The atmosphere was warm and the staff were very welcoming - and helpful (they booked a taxi for us, and we had walked to Arundel during the day). Will definitely return!

My husband, best friend and I booked to eat here after seeing Wicked Little Letters at the Town Hall. We only had room for main meals, the portions were hot, large and delicious. Hubby had carbonara, bestie had risotto with fish and mine was mushroom risotto. The waitress was very friendly and kept a careful eye on our table, immediately replenishing our water bottle. A very good choice for us to finish our lovely day.

Came in for an early supper before heading home after a day in the area. We ordered bread, which was delicious, and a pizza and spaghetti bolognaise. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The staff and manager were charming, made us feel welcome and we had a thoroughly romantic quiet supper before a 150 mile drive home. Thanks, we will be back.

A lovely Italian restaurant my wife and i visited at lunch lots of locals seemed to be in for lunch food was cooked to perfection and service was good without being too intrusive

I have visited La Campania twice and have been more than impressed. The staff are very friendly with a great service and the food is out of this world. There is so much choice for everyone. Plenty of veggie and vegan options as well as a brilliant gluten free menu. Great value for money and a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back for more delicious food!

The restaurant looks rather quaint and is in a great location. However, the paper napkins were thin and cheap in appearance and I’ve not seen that before in a restaurant. The food was hit and miss, depending on what you ordered. The sardines were delicious but the goat’s cheese could have been cooked more. Similarly, the olives were of good quality but the pizza was rather greasy. The waitress was cheerful and efficient but the management asked if we wanted our change even though they’d included the tip on the bill. The restaurant is bright, clean and had a vibrant and lively atmosphere which was pleasant and enough.

Lovely food as usual, waitresses very good but find the Manager rather obnoxious. Needs some customer training. He can’t cope if they get busy.
