La Cafe Bar in Brentwood

Poor service, counter full with dirty dishes and cups when waiting to order. Very expensive. Thought the whole experience was very disappointing, as was expecting more .

This is the bar / café in the fitness centre on Chindits Lane, Brentwood. Don't be put off by the fact that this is a fitness centre, the food is really very good indeed. We had a family lunch here, and it was excellent. The friendly staff looked after us - they set up nice, decorated tables to one side of the bar for our party. All three courses of our lunch were excellent - well presented, generous portions, really tasty and all promptly served up, nobody was left waiting and there were eighteen of us. And all at an incredibly fair price. They have a good selection of beers available too. If you're driving there's plenty of free parking space in fitness centre car park. Altogether, very good.

Have had a top steak meal on a Thursday night and great food generally during the week. I use the gym facilities regularly and even have my Sunday roast there

Came here for a lunch with friends, it’s always busy in here and the food is really tasty with lots of different options to choose from. The staff are very friendly and it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Great atmosphere comfortable sofas live sports, amazing coffee and food, value for money, would highly recommend for lunch.

Myself and my colleague decided we were going to go for lunch here one afternoon. I have previously ordered from here before and advised them of my nut allergy and they said that they would check with the chief and they came back and said that I was fine to eat there. So on my next visit I had the same thing I previously had because when I checked before it was fine. After eating and leaving the restaurant I started to feel extremely unwell and I soon realised I was having an anaphylactic reaction, my lips were swelling and my throats was closing and an ambulance had to be called. The following day my colleague and my mum at different times of the day phoned up just to advise them and although they were apologetic the lady on the phone she said to both of them that I should have made them aware of my allergy, which I had done the previous week when I had been and had the same thing! When both of them asked what oil they used she advised they didn't know! How are they going to prevent allergic reactions if they don't even know what oil they use! No allergen signs were up and nothing anywhere about allergens until they got a phone call from both my colleague and my mum telling them about the situation! I will never return here to eat because I won't be able to guarantee what I am eating! They are lucky they haven't killed anyone yet!!!!!!!!!! AVOID if you have a serve allergy! Would even it give it a 1 but wouldn't let me submit without clicking 1!

We went there as a party of 5 adults. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. I had a lovely jacket potato, and my family were happy with their meals too. Every meal was presented nicely and the hot food was piping hot as it should be! We will return!

Don't!! Tried to have a family meal with music and football blaring out from every corner. We asked to have the noise turned down and they turned it up. Does everyone have to have football rammed down your throat. How about some consideration for others. If you are hoping to talk. Try somewhere else. Lovely staff though.

I always go and eat here. The food is always delicious, affordable and in good healthy portions. This is a good place to eat. You never get tired of the food here. Very much recommended.

Every time my family and myself (including our 3 year old) visit the cafe/bar we are always made to feel welcome from the friendly staff. We have been visiting for just over 3 years now. We are not gym members. Drinks and food are always yummy. There are always healthy option cakes to try and the chefs daily specials are nice. We have also been to a few evening events here and they too have been well organized and fun.

My family and I love coming to this restaurant the food is good the service is good and the staff are so friendly. It is a shame that they have to shut down due to the gym being taken over it is a crime to lose this restaurant and the LA Fitness Gym - Pure Gym should be ashamed of themselves putting all these lovely hard working people out of work and business! Wherever you open again we will follow!!!

Me vienen aquí bastante con mi familia para el almuerzo o la cena. Es un restaurante familiar encantador con un personal muy amable. La comida es casera y buena relación calidad-precio especialmente para los tamaños de las porciones que te dan.

I have lost count of how many times I have eaten here and the food, service and warm welcome from the staff is second to none. The food is very reasonably priced and it's a nice place to eat, whether it be lunchtime or the early evening, or even for a Sunday roast. Lovely choice of food on the menu too, so much so that they even cater for those of us who like the lower calorie meals. Always a daily "special" too and the daily cake on display is always made with a lower calorie sugar. I have spent a few Sundays here having a roast dinner with my daughter, who absolutely loves it....The chips are tops aswell :). Well worth a visit

I went here for a meal for my mothers 50th. Had a lovely roast and was looked after. It is nice to see a family run business doing so well and working together. Food was lovely and staff was very friendly. They let us have the table all day and they didn't Rush us out. They even gave the children free ice cream. Great value for money. Will be back.

I'm a frequent visitor to this great cafe within LA fitness in Brentwood as I use the gym and work over the road. The food is always good and I have never had an issue with it. Good size portions and all freshly cooked and prepared. The prices have been raised this year which has made a few dishes too expensive for a cafe in my opinion though. It is popular at lunch times, and the problem i have had recently is the slow and poor service. After being told there is a 40min wait for food and too order other things we went for a jacket, panini and pasta I was advised that it would be 20mins. It was still 40min, so I was advised to call and preorder. So next time this is what i did. Ordered for 13:05 giving me 5 mins to walk over, but the food still took 30mins! It wasn't that busy and I found both the waitress a little rude and appeared like they didn't really care. I work with a lot of people who frequent this little cafe and they have all said the same thing - food great service going down hill fast. I hope they turn it around.
