Had a fabulous time in this little gem .. the weather was fantastic & I almost thought I was in Italy... Great pasta dish & wine was good .. I was alone but the visitors in the outside area were very engaging and I had fun.. the staff & owner were fabulous in every way ... Will certainly return again very soon

I found this wonderful place for a light lunch some years ago when i lived near by. Having to visit Trowbridge to find our bank (They seem to shut everywhere convenient) we fancied a coffee so i suggested we try to find this coffee shop which is tucked in Castle street behind the Shires Shopping Center. In this center there are various places to eat but i fancied something special. So we went in for a coffee but looking at the menu I thought I would have a Pizza too, which i don't normally chose. Well in Italy I thought they must know how to make something special and i was not wrong. Not the usual mass produced cardboard some of the chains manage but a real piece of Italy with salad served by a lovely young lady . This is family run and it shows! Great place for decent coffee and a snack.

As an Italian national I recommend this cafe in Trowbridge. Quality of the products, kindness.. and a PROPER espresso coffee

We were exploring Trowbridge and looking for somewhere to have lunch. I had a lovely chicken salad and my husband had a beautiful, home made lasagne that he really enjoyed. We also had two nice coffees. Service was very friendly but it does get busy at lunch time, which I guess is a good sign! The owner was totally charming. We will certainly be back - the cakes looked lovely!

I last visited The Bella Vita Cafe in Trowbridge several years ago and since then it has been extended and is under new management. So I went in a few minutes before 11:30 am having studied the menu posted in the window stating that the lunch menu was served from that time. I was quite prepared to order a cappuccino and wait. But the waitress made some enquiries with the owner and told me that lunches were not being served until 12 noon on that day as they were too busy, so I left. Avoid.

Tried this place for the first time, cappuccino was perfect, I had the salmon and dill panini and salad which was very tasty and well presented, I also tried the salmon and spinach quiche which was succulent and full of flavour, the service was great, I will definitely be going here again!!

Lovely independent Italian cafe in central Trowbridge. Staff were extremely welcoming and had set aside a table for our group of friends. Nice selection of warming soups, paninis, pizzas and other dishes on the lunch menu 🇮🇹

Discovered this restaurant on a recent visit to Trowbridge. The food is lovely (home-made pesto), the atmosphere great, the service excellent, the proprietor friendly. Couldn't ask for better.

We attended the first wine and nibbles evening last night. Angelo and Glenda are organising this as a regular event from 4pm to 7pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. Nice mix of nibbles as bread, meats cheeses and others with cocktails or wine.

Great warm welcome from the friendly Angelo! Great coffe! Authentic (Guaranteed ✓) Italian food! The back courtyard (with tables in sun or shade) has a relaxing yet lively vibe all around. Definitely a stop not to miss when in Trowbridge!

Very warm welcome, lovely courtyard garden, very attentive staff and owner. I went with a friend for a light lunch and coffee. I have to follow a gluten free diet but this was no problem, the owner came out after I placed my order to discuss the options and explain their preparation practices, which I really appreciated. The food was fresh and delicious. Really really enjoyable - will definitely return again.

New owner Angelo seems to be doing very well. We had a nice lunch with glass of wine in the secluded courtyard garden. Homemade dishes delicious, with the sun shining an added bonus.

It was so lovely and all the workers were being very kind and friendly especially after my friend Sophie Lange spilt a drink they kindly cleaned it up and gave her a new drink.

this little cafe is a dream. the honeycomb milkshake is to die for! and the iced teas are amazing. my most recent visit i didnt get food, but every time i do its always lovely. the people serving have been smiley and helpful every visit. wonderful cafe!

A regular place for me to get a briskly served good quality cup of coffee. Snacks available and a cosy courtyard for sunny days.

Been to Trowbridge many times but never visited here until introduced to it by a friend who worked nearby and who is a regular.Tea and a wonderful cake that I was not familiar with that was not over sweet just as I like them.Friendly service and not rushed.Appears to be popular as very busy for a Tuesday lunchtime.Free parking in local multi-story car park.I will return.

Had a lovely early lunch in here but was hugely disappointed that they allow e-cigarettes to be smoked. I won't be back as I find that unacceptable

We needed a late lunch after attending a course. Delighted to find La Bella Vita was open and could cater for the four of us, one of whom is on a gluten-free diet. There was a good choice of food & yummy desserts. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.

Popped in here for a quick bite on a Friday lunchtime. Good menu choices and we both chose filled ciabattas. Presented with a variety of salad items. Quick service and had the weather been better we might have sat in the rear sheltered courtyard. Quality food in a very pleasant setting, a little out of the main area but worth seeking out.

We only called in for a Cup of Coffee, but looking so appetising on display....we ended up having a slice of Homemade Pizza and Garnish as well. The Food was really nice and tasty, washed down with a lovely Cup of Coffee. We will be going back very soon. Thanks to all of the Staff.

We are a family of 3 and enjoyed 2x ham and cheese croissants and a tasty ricotta and spinach tart with some lovely fresh salads. The menu is not extensive but there is a nice selection and all the food we had was very good. The cafe itself has a nice atmosphere and the service is good with very friendly staff who were lovely to our energetic 3 year old. The only downside is that it is not in a picturesque part of town.

I used to come to La Bella Vita often, knowing that the food would be good and the atmosphere would be friendly and warm. I went in this afternoon and sadly the latter is not so true.

This delightful independent cafe was recommended to us for a light lunch and we weren't disappointed. Spoilt for choice I kept it simple - tomato and mozzarella salad with amazing homemade focaccia.

Visited on Saturday- Great choice on the menu, really friendly and attentive staff. I had the Italian Panini with Pancetta, Gorgonzola, Red apple & Rocket- This also came with salad and sweet corn with mayo. Definitely will be going back!

my daughter and I decided to try lunch here having seen the menu online. My daughter is vegetarian and dairy free for her health. We were very pleased with the choices on offer and went for the light lunch. 2 dishes arrived each divided into 3 parts each with red peppers, artichoke and sour cabbage, all dressed in an Italian dressing. A large plate of bread with a very taste salsa.I had a peach juice, my daughter a blood orange juice, both lovely.We will certainly be back to try something else when in town.

I have walked past La Bella Vita cafe many times but never been inside before. But I had the chance to dine there in September. The first thing I spotted was a warning notice on the door about part of the floor being refurbished. And the catch on that door is way too stiff. Inside the dining area is divided into two rooms with more seats being available outside at the back - I would estimate about 50+ seats are present in total. And I did notice some mains plugs and leads on the walls adjacent to some tables - nothing illegal but it could present a hazard for unattended children.

I've eaten here several times. It's a lovely, stylish Italian cafe with friendly staff and lovely food. My favourite place to lunch in Trowbridge!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at this charming Italian restaurant. Had cranberry and brie pastry with excellent salad and a glass of wine. Quiet little courtyard, although the sun wasn't shining it was sheltered and ideal for an alfresco meal.

Had a lovely lunch with my friend. The staff are friendly and the service is good. I had a mozzarella and cranberry panini with side salad very tasty. We will be visiting again.

No es un espectáculo para la vista mirando como yo oigo nasitly contar chismes sobre otros miembros del personal mientras insultos. Para colmo la chica que había estado sirviendo parecía estar más preocupada en su nariz. Es una pena, porque este era el mejor café de la ciudad de compras. El dueño era fantástica y el patio, una verdadera trampa de soleado. Una vez una auténtica escapada de la ciudad cutre. No parece que el personal compre en línea con el resto de Trowbridge. :

Decidimos visitar este pequeño café en vez de uno de los 'cadenas' mientras compras en Trowbridge. Mientras yo sólo probamos el café y chocolate brownie, no me encontraba en impresionados. El café era bueno y caliente, pero incluso para una habitación 'era muy pequeña. El brownie de chocolate'' era a todos los efectos, sólo una pequeña pieza de chocolate insípido esponja (aunque muy bien decorada con un puñado de azúcar en polvo) en vez de un brownie, que normalmente es rica, de color marrón oscuro y tiene una textura densa fudgey. Coste Total = 4 libras. 35, satisfacción = cero. No regresaré y, odio decir esto, hubiera hecho mejor yendo a una de las cadenas hoteleras más grandes.

Siempre es bueno visitar aquí en un viaje de compras en la ciudad. Hacen un buen chocolate caliente leche de soja, siempre añadiendo un montón de chocolate que es crucial. Hoy he probado la tarta de almendra y naranja dairyfree que era delicioso, y mi marido le gusta el café, personal muy amable, bastante decoración, y las instalaciones limpias. El mejor café en trowbridge, moviendo con los tiempos (opciones vegetarianas), a diferencia de algunos de los otros lugares que duddy en la ciudad. Siempre tienen una buena muestra de material de lectura, y algunos buenos productos italianos para la compra, muy acogedor.

Disappointing, expensive for what was served, mediocre flavours. Friendly service but not good value, visited before & was expecting more.

The special for today was pea and mint soup. It was served with several slices of toasted Italian bread and a saucer of freshly chopped mint and a small jug of cream. It is these touches that set the Bella Vista apart. The soup was lovely by the way.

Visit often - lovely cafe with sunny courtyard at the back - NOT a chain!! The manager Pinot is lovely

I like to pop in for a quick espresso with a splash of grappa, wonderful on a cold day. Nice courtyard seating area and good selection of snacks.

Lovely little cafe in Trowbridge. My wife and I visited here for lunch. We both decided to sit in the enclosed courtyard as it was a lovely day. The service was excellent and the food very good. We would definitely go again next time we are in the area.

We Went there on Tuesday non for a caffe and we tried the home made cake's , it was lash we eat courgette cake & caffe cake the courgette one it was the best i ever eat. We are going to visit a gain .

My wife and I have started to visit La Bella Vita on a Saturday and we're never disappointed. The tea and coffee are always good as are the cakes and biscuits to accompany it. Whenever we've been there, including very rainy days, it's always been busy. The staff are friendly and efficient and the owner seems to be a bit of a character. Highly recommended.

I've been here twice and the thing which always stands out is the attention to detail that the employees have. We ordered pecan and maple pastries and wondered why they were taking a few minutes, having expected them to be simply plonked on a plate, but they had actually had taken the time to heat it in the oven and decorate with icing sugar. Beautiful coffee and big cups of tea.

This cafe is fabulous, lovely staff, wonderful food, amazing cakes including Gluten free and very welcoming to children. Most importantly it has THE best coffee not only in Trowbridge but in Wiltshire!

We were on our way back from Chepstow and stopped in Trowbridge, had a quick look at trip advisor and saw the good reviews and decided to pay it a visit. I had a cappuccino and my wife had a mocha both were really good. The best was a shared Raspberry and blueberry with lime drizzle it was really good. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was really good especially for a wet miserable Monday morning. Though I had no more than the cake the enu looked really good, it felt like little Italy inTrowbridge.

This cafe is a must to visit alone for the coffee, which is to die for. The owner is a lovely Italian man from a. Large extended family, who I have know we'll. the food is what I could describe as fresh 'hearty Italian' lunch food, worth having if you go! The own even gave my sons part time job a year a go which he is happy to include the wider couminity in his cafe. I would rom contend anything on the menus as long as it's Wight Coffey!

Great place for stopping by when your feet are tired out. Friendly and welcoming staff and a great selection of drinks and snacks. Also make a cracking coffee, unlike some of the locals well known chains!!!

I have been to this friendly little Italian restaurant a few times with different members of my family. The food is authentic and delicious and very reasonably priced. It is all freshly prepared, so you do have a bit of a wait, but well worth it! Lovely to have something different in Trowbridge. Highly recommended.

Warm friendly welcome from the staff. We sat in the garden for lunch, we had a little bit of a wait until it arrived, as all meals are freshly prepared and on this day it was a little bit busy but it was worth the short wait really enjoyable.

Do not be put off by first impressions. This at first seems like a cheap café, but the food and atmosphere way surpass first impressions. The menu seems simplistic, but believe me what comes to the table is rather good. OK it is not a restaurant you order at the counter and there is no tablecloth, but it is exactly what it sets out to be, a lovely little Italian café with good food at a very reasonable price. Want a nice lunch in Trowbridge then come here. I was pleasantly surprised and will certainly come back again. Thank you La Bella Vita.

I visit this restaurant regularly for lunch. The service is excellent especially from the owner Pino who is happy to advise and produces the most delicious homemade food. The food is value for money and I would highly recommend a visit here especially as there is nothing else like it in Trowbridge.

We often have light lunch or mid-morning coffee at this cafe. It is cosy without being cramped. The staff are really friendly and cheerful. The menu is not extensive but the food is fresh and tasty. The coffee is great without being expensive.In the summer, the back garden is sunny and sheltered.We choose this little cafe in preference to the "big chain" ones in Trowbridge.

I visited with my friend and our experience was great. The place was busy (obviously popular) but the staff were friendly and our order brought over to our table promptly. The lemon and courgette cake was absolutely delicious! It was definitely value for money and worth a visit if you're in Trowbridge and want a relaxed atmosphere with good food.

Le Bevande ed il Cibo sono ottime; per non parlare delle bellissime cameriere sempre disponibili per qualsiasi aiuto.Lo Consiglio davvero molto sia per le colazioni un po più leggere come quelle italiane che per un pranzo alla veloce!

Apparently Trowbridge is the County town of Wiltshire?? But there are very few nice places to go for coffee, in fact Bella Vita is the only place. Delicious food, great coffee, beautiful courtyard with no smoking and excellent service. If only more places could be as good.

I visited this cafe with three friends for a midweek lunch date and am very impressed with the service and food.The cafe has very comfortable surroundings and was made to feel welcome. The menu has a good selection to chose from and very well priced. Two of us chose smoked salmon and cream cheese ciabatta whilst my other friends chose tuna melt baguette and the goats cheese tart. It did'nt take long to be served and was well presented. We enjoyed our lunch and if time allowed we would have chosen a sweet. There were plenty of cakes to choose from including gluten free.We will certainly return and can fully recommend supporting this local family business.

Have been using this café to meet up with friends for quite a long time now and believe it is the best one in Trowbridge. As a locally owned café it has got the balance right. You have to get your timings right otherwise if you go at peak lunchtime you won't find a seat to be had! In the summer the outside seating area is an added bonus. I like the fact that you can get yourself seated and then browse the chilled cabinets and board at our leisure and order your food directly from the counter staff - and see where your food is made up as this demonstrates they have nothing to hide. I have eaten on numerous occasions and love their daily "tart" which are always tasty and served with a lovely dressed salad and the speed of service is very good, even when they are full. There are good choice of both other foods and drinks. Highly recommended as a meeting place for a coffee or for a light lunch or afternoon tea.

We went in for a mid morning coffee and snack, the cappuccino's were very nice,my g/f had a croissant, and I had a selection of breads (which I recommend) and all in all it was nice, just a little cramped, a few too many seats for such a small place, but I don't think you would be disappointed with your visit.

Visited this cafe for first time today with my husband. We intended to have a light lunch but didn't do that as not one staff member acknowledged us or even glanced our way, and it wasn't that they were busy. We looked at the menu boards, looked at the tables for seating, and looked around with the hope of getting some attention from any one of the five or six staff. It would have been nice (and just normal really) for one of them to say 'Can I help you?' that's all. We felt really awkward, so after a few minutes left the cafe to have lunch elsewhere, where customer welcome and service was lovely, so faith was restored! We can't comment on the food in this cafe, just the poor experience of entering it, so won't be doing so again.

This is a true Italian Cafe with Home made goodies everywhere. You might think it is a little expensive at first glance but compare with typical 'chain' cafes in Trowbridge and it is maginal and the quality of the food is just so much better, that really there is no contest. They love well behaved children. Definately would recommend Belle Vita.

Visited twice during the spring. First time for lunch which was a tasty quiche which was homemade with a slightly bland and disappointing salad. Next visit was to meet a friend for coffee. lovely coffee but accompanied by a slice of very dry cake. A shame as its a nice position and lovely decor

A friend and I had lunch in this lovely cosy cafe. We shared an antipasti platter, and some delicious homemade cake.Despite it being very busy, service was prompt and friendly.I would recommend this cafe to anyone after a light lunch in an independent cafe.My only criticism is I wish it opened in the evenings!

I first visited La Bella Vita in 2009 when looking for a town in Wiltshire to call home. My husband was so impressed that it was a main factor in choosing Trowbridge...The food is always top quality and totally delicious, from platters of antipasti (where it's hard to tell which is better, meat or vegetarian) to homemade courgette cake and caramel shortbread. Coffee is always great and there's lashings of Orangina and elderflower for those summer months.

We ventured to this place a few months ago first time whilst our car was being washed nearby. It was a pleasant experience and the food nice. We have been back a few times since for lunch. Lovely freshly prepared food with excellent cakes. The staff are plentiful and very nice. Can be busy and my only criticism would be that one time we went a table for 4 was taken up by two ladies having a coffee which meant we had to straddle 2 tables.

The owner is a complete gentleman, he is warm and friendly as is the rest of the staff. The food is very fresh and the cakes are amazing.

Unless I am missing something, Trowbridge is a bit short of good quality independent cafés and restaurants. This place is the exception and is a little gem of a place.

Really nice atmosphere, small cosy Italian cafe, with lovely light meals and coffee. Small courtyard out back which is a nice hideaway during good weather.

This is possibly the only coffee shop in the area where on a chilly winters' morning you can pop in for caffè correto, double espresso with a splash of grappa, (favoured by the Italians in the cold north of Italy on frosty/snowy mornings). Pino has created a little slice of Italy in this authentic café, and in the summer sit outside in his walled courtyard and take in the rays over a pizza slice and cappuchino.

The cafe is nicely decorated and the staff are nice. However, it is more of a place for coffee and cake than a meal. My boyfriend and I went for breakfast but ended up with cakes and coffee. The coffee wasn't anything to write home about and the cake I had was really dry.

This cafe has a good choice of lunchtime snacks and lovely cakes. The atmosphere is friendly and it is a pleasant place to meet up with friends. In the summer there is a small garden area at the back of the cafe which has a covered area in case it gets too hot in the sun.

I came here for lunch earlier and walking in it had a very nice atmosphere. The staff are very polite and the service was good and out ciabatta with salad was the best sandwich I had in Trowbridge. Although a bit pricey (only 21 and on a budget) I will be coming here again.

Trowbridge is not known for its cafe culture or its restaurants but this cafe is starting to change this. It is a gem in the town. The service is great the food fabulous and this can be measured by the constant stream of customers. On a sunny day the courtyard to the rear is a little haven providing an escape from the day. The menu regularly changes and there are opportunities to buy items to take home especially if you know what to do with Vin Santo and Biscotti!

We have been frequent visitors to La Bella Vita for 2 years and Pino, the owner, epitomises chic Italian coffee culture in the heart of Wiltshire. The lunches, cakes and pastries are hearty and the coffee is divine. We always look forward to good coffee and a warm welcome from Pino. Bravissimo!
