Kushi in Havering

We've just got home after eating a really delicious meal at Kushi. It's not our first visit, we've eaten there many times. However it's been a while since our last visit. We won't leave it so long next time.Thanks guys - great service and great food!

Booked a table for 7.30. Knowing tables are scarce, when we were stuck in traffic I rang to say we would be 5 minutes late, was told very rudely it was a problem as we had to be out by 10!!!! We stood at the door for 5 minutes before seated then waited 1/2 hour - no staff came near so I went to the bar to get some drinks only to be told speak to the manager. Service was very slow all evening and most of the food was good - sadly dhansak not up to usual standard as was far too sweet

Great food, great atmosphere, great service - Redwan was very polite and helpful. Would recommend for couples and groups.

The food was horrible! Ordered a take away and there was so many things that were unsatisfactory. From no mango chutney with the popadoms, receiving plain rice instead of pilau rice, the madras was watery and heavily tomato based and their naan was dry.

Went here with my husband and family, the food was absolutely amazing. We got a selection of both indian dishes and dishes from the peri peri menu and we all absolutely loved the food. The service was faultless and the decor is lovely and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

Just come out of Kushi in Gidea Park, whist the food was very good BE AWARE when you order popadoms, they charge you £2,10 per person for 4 tiny dishes of chutney!!! What a rip off, when I questioned the waiter he said you can have as many dips as you want but was not offered it when we ate our popadoms, so 3 popadoms cost £8.40p, and £3.00 for a diet coke!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

I collected food from this restaurant looking at the reviews. The food was horrible, chicken curry was made of tomato ketchup with some meat, rice which nobody can get it wrong was not even cooked and lamb sheesh kebab meat was spoilt. Advise to all locals this is not how Indian food tastes.

I was really hankering a decent curry the other night, I have done tons of home cooking and quite frankly needed a break. I ordered a peshwari nan, pilau rice, poppadoms and a chicken bhuna. It absolutely hit the spot! The bhuna was flavoursome, and quite simply delicious. The rice was nice and light and the peshwari nan was light, fluffy with a nice coconut filling. All washed down with an ice cold corona beer from the off licence next door. I can highly recommend this place for quality and very tasty food. My 2nd time here after a few years trialling other places and yes I will be coming back here! Thank you.

We're all missing our favourite restaurants, that's for sure, and last night we decided on a Kushi order. We're not too adventurous, always sticking with the usual onion bhajee, king prawn puri, chicken tikka mossala stuffed paratha, etc.. Everything was fresh and delicious. I did go for aubergine fritters this time ..... as delicious as they are, the transportation made them a little greasy, so a quick spurt in the oven on high heat did the trick. They were scrumptious. And, I went for the AAM Mossala this time. You've got to have a sweet tooth for this one, which I do - normally a butter chicken or korma 'regular', but ooooh, the lamb was soft and delicious and the weet chilli sauce (using mango pulp) and loads of cream was to die for! Again, only if you like a sweet dish, but for me it was fabulous!We ordered early last night (5.30 ish) and food was here within half an hour, which was great.Although I can't wait to Kushi to re-open, I thoroughly enjoyed our delivery and can't wait to order again.Hoping all the staff and their families are safe and well.

I ate here last week with a group of friends. The food was delicious, and the fact that you can bring your own drink really keeps the price down. I left my umbrella in the restaurant by accident and had to go back the next night - thanks for looking after it for me!

Family friendly restaurant, food top quality, staff superb, menu different to a normal indian specialities on the board wow. If you haven’t come to a kushi you’re missing out.

Ate here and served me raw chicken and only took £13 off my bill and was rude about it payed for the remaining food and was 20 pence short and demanded the 20 pence will never eat snd recommend this place again terrible lost my custome and a big party of friend's

Absolutely lovely food, amazing staff. If I could, I would give 10 stars. I am a very fussy person and I can honestly say that this is the best Indian I have ever been to and cannot believe I have only just found out about this place. I was given a free desert as a member of staff over heard me and my boyfriend speaking about my birthday. You can also bring your own alcohol which makes the bill less pricey. Would 100% recommend. I would like to mention how friendly and approachable two member of staff was “Gaffer and Redwan” they made my birthday night enjoyable. Thanks so much.

Visited this restaurant for the fourth time with close friends for a catch up meal. We’ve always enjoyed the privacy that this spacious place can give you. The service was to say the least very abrupt with a touch of arrogance when questions were asked of the waiter about a particular dish. The food was as usual very good, but it was made very clear to us that as closing time approached we were presented with the bill before we had a chance to ask for coffee. Feeling very annoyed at this treatment we settled up and left. Could well be the last time I go there!

Lovely staff and great food would 100% go back! You must give this a try if you haven’t already !Would love to go back to try some more dishes and give you my views as there is so many dishes to try .Mains we had some amazing dishes the garlic and cheese Naan was amazing !!We both had king prawn starters , being honest thought the prawns could be improved with better quality prawns and probably wouldn’t order again for the price of the starter . Booked a table for a special occasion and requested a table at the back as I would have a pram with me and would need a quiet area for my son. Was told that we could have the table no problem and that it was all booked. The table that they gave us on the night was not the table they said and was inconvenient for us, right in the busiest part of the restaurant. I was made to feel very uncomfortable with my son and when we mentioned that it was not the table promised to us I was called a liar. We had to repeatedly call them over to take our order and to get more drinks. As a new mum and my first time out I was totally devastated to have been put in that position and was deeply upset. Not even an apology.

Booked to eat for New Years Eve a table for 11 people. We did the same last year and Ive also had a large table for my sons 18th birthday here. We paid a deposit of £10 per person. On arrival our table hadn't been reserved.we had too wait until tables had to be pushed together. On ordering food my daughter who has special needs was told she had to order a rice and a main dish, my daughter has dietary issues and just wanted rice. The server was instant that she ordered a main course. We have never had the issue before here or in any other restaurant, fortunately my nephew had heard this conversation and told me otherwise my daughter would have ordered a butter chicken dish that she wouldn't eat. When we questioned him he was quite rude and told us they wouldn't make enough money if we didn't all order a main and a side. Our total bill came to £285 which works out to £25 per head. I would say that's enough Money made!!! I won't be going back

We are just home from another lovely evening at Kushi, Gidea Park. We were expertly looked after by Gaffa (thank you) and the food was as delicious as ever.. We will be back!

A friend of mine was back visiting the area and so a group of us wanted a restaurant to visit for a meal. We booked a table for 6 on a Friday night, and we weren't disappointed.

Having lived in Broadstairs for a number of years, and spoilt for choice of award winning restaurants, I.e. Flavours by Kuma, and Ambretta, on returning to Romford found a large number of Indian restaurants to try. I worked my way through most of them , found some bad, some good, and some very good. Kushi stands out as excellent, the food is very good quality, and cooked to a very high standard. The maitre d Red , and his team, are very professional and attentive. The restaurant is very clean and has a good ambience. As you can take your own alcohol, this makes it a great 'value for money' night out. We will definitely be making a return visit soon.

We have eaten in Kushi many times and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly, the food is great and excellent value for money. As a result of this, we decided to hold a birthday celebration in Kushi - with 42 of us sitting down to eat. The evening went without a hitch, the team were incredibly friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. We took over the front part of the restaurant which was comfortable and we had plenty of space. I made 2 special cakes for after the meal, we had candles and everyone in the restaurant joined in to sing happy birthday. Kushi is a great place to hold a birthday party.

We went here on Saturday night last week for my wife's birthday (there were 6 of us) and I thought the overall experience was great. Gaffar and his staff were really friendly and very helpful to my in-laws who never know what to order when it comes to eating in an Indian restaurant.

We walked in on a rainy evening at 10.45pm (15 mins after closing time) and were greeted by Najmul and staff. They were friendly and welcoming and swiftly took our order. After grazing on poppudoms, we were served our main meals. Our waiter, Mohammed, was happy to serve our table even though it was past closing time. The food was exceptional, with some members of the party stating it was the best curry they had ever had. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Best curry in the area!

We had a big party for my grandparent's 70th and they couldn't have done more for us. We paid a deposit, we were allowed to decorate, take our own drink, leave the cake in their facilities, they even let me out the back to put the candles in the cake myself and bring it out. The food was amazing and for such a big party of us (around 20) we didn't wait ages either! Food was fresh and put up with a rowdy crowd. Would highly recommend!

This restaurant advertises a £13.95 menu Tuesday through Thursday. A starter, main, side and rice or naan bread. We’ve eaten here previously and the food is very nice. Tonight, we walked in and the restaurant is empty, we ordered popadoms and waited to order, the waiter came over and we ordered per the £13.95 menu, we were then told that you needed to make a reservation in order to get this offer, although the menu advises you make a reservation, he then went on to say they were busy although at this time we were still the only customers in the restaurant. The food came up and all dishes were very good, by the time we left there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. Needless to say the surly behaviour of the waiter resulted in no tip.

We went to Kushi for a birthday celebration as a group of 6. Service was very good and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. The food was very good. Very tasty and not too spicy as happens in some restaurants. Overall a wonderful meal.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Food was fantastic and as you take your own drink the price for 18 of us was very reasonable.

Been here a few times and the food is consistently good. Staff are friendly and helpful, I’m vegan and the waiter checked every dish with the chef to make sure I got a vegan meal. The food is delicious with many unique dishes to try. It’s unlicensed with an off-license next door, which makes for more choice at less cost. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here with my family after an afternoon out in gidea park for a nice meal to end the day. Despite the slightly dated interior the food was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. Also the addition of bringing your own alcohol made the night cheaper and an all round great experience!

Best service, best food, and best value for money, Indian restaurant in Romford. Service is excellent from a very friendly and professional staff. The food is very well presented and excellent quality, equal to any of the top Indian restaurants I have frequented. It is very good value for money, especially Monday to Thursday with the special deals. Taking your own alcohol is a big attraction, rather than paying £18 - £20 a bottle of wine. It’s as cheap as a takeaway, with great ambience, and without the washing up!

Totally recommend, service was amazing. It’s a great place to bring your family and such a warm, positive environment. Definitely will be coming back!!

Not sure what has happened at Kushi but the last couple of times we have visited it has not been as good as previously. We would still eat here again, but the service is not as good since the old manager left. That is one of the important components of eating in a restaurant.

Mad house . Large group of men singing etc . Not coming again as hardly right atmosphere you want fir night out , byo so everyone well oiled

So, 31 of us visited last night to celebrate my wife's surprise birthday. What a waste of time! Despite making several tel calls in advance of the booking to ensure it all went smoothly, feeling very let down by the restaurant. The management point blank refused to organise any entertainment when asked and made no attempt to even engage with me or attempt to make it special for us. There wasn't even any music. There was absolutely zero atmosphere (other than what we created). No decor (other than what we bought). No service with a smile. Instead the guy who took our booking (Ahmed) over the phone, and with whom I had spoken again on the phone, didn't even have the courtesy to come over and say hello and thanks for your custom. Rude. Sheer bad manners. I had to ask for him and then when I approached him to say hello he was just totally blank. Didn't stop to say 'oh hi, thanks for coming, nice to put a face to the voice.' Nothing! Made me feel like an idiot for choosing this place over any other of the curry houses in romford. Oh, and the food was seriously below par. We travelled from B'ham and so know good quality AUTHENTIC curry. This was so not it. Sorry Romford locals.. if you think this is good curry I suggest you need to expand your experiences. Had to return some of the dishes and ask for them to be remade. Spent just shy of £500 on the night and totally regret it. Unlike us, don't be lured in by the BYO drinks incentive. False economy cos you lose out on all the rest which makes the night special. As it is I regret choosing this place. What should have been a happy special occasion was just ruined.

First time here, definitely would recommend we all had great curries, I’ve struggled to find one that matched my old curry house since moving and this place was bang on we will be regulars here for sure. Take your own drink to which keeps the cost down win win

Living in Gidea Park there are quite a few Very good Indian restaurants which all provide delivery.

Highly recommend kushi in gidea park, ive tried lots of indian resteraunts and take aways over the years but this one is one of the best in and around the local area,staff are also freindly, food is always on point, never had a bad meal from here.

We live in Gidea Park and have tried almost every Indian restaurant within the area. Kushi is a traditional Indian, although saying that, the dishes far outweigh any others and the variety offered is exceptional. Their menu contains so many different dishes, together with a blackboard of specials. To be honest, it's hard to choose, but the wonderful thing is, the staff are so attentive and will cook whatever you want. I can't eat spicy, hot dishes, but of course love to alternative from butter chicken and korma an the normal mild dishes and being able to try dishes that they suggest and make up is an absolutely delight. We do normally go for the specials, which are delicious. My husband's last choice came up in a pot with a cover of some kind of bread, which was outstanding. I went for a mild king prawn dish, which was scrumptious! King prawns too, not meager morsels like you might be dished up in other establishments.

I celebrated my 60th birthday with these great guys. 53 of my friends and family were treated to a delicious feast, topped off with taking our own wine. Win win

This was our 3rd time of visiting Kushi and as with the previous visits it was fantastic from start to end. The booking on the website was so simple. We love the idea of the bring your own alcohol as you dont end up either leaving what you cant drink or drinking more just to finish it off. Also much cheaper ..we took two friends with us who had never been there before and they couldn't believe the selection of dishes .. the food was absolutely delicious and a fantastic choice for a vegetarian like myself. As good as the food is i think its the attentive staff who really make this restaurant stand out. Can't wait for next visit !

Kushi is my favourite Indian restaurants in Essex. I've never had a bad meal and the food is the best I've ever tasted. we used to live in Chafford Hundred and we used the Kushi restaurant near the train station. we then moved to Hornchurch and Kushi followed by opening up the gidea park chain.

Another lovely night out and lovely food in a nice atmosphere with excellent and attentive staff. Well worth a visit everyone and very highly recommended.

I booked Kushi to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday, we had a party of 17 people of mixed ages, none of us had been here before but I had read the excellent reviews and from the moment we entered till we left service was brilliant, The food was excellent, all dishes for such a large table all came out together piping hot & sizzling. We will most defiantly come back. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

If you want an authentic indian meal then you need to try Kushi. If you like a Madras then ask for the Chef Special Madras which is not on the menu, It's very tasty.

Called into Kushi on a Sunday night and the staff were super friendly and really helpful. We opted for the buffet and were not disappointed, tasty, crisp onion bhajis, nan breads, tender chicken tikka, lamb biryani, chicken bhuna, sag aloo and a dhal dish plus chips for some reason I couldn’t fathom however they were a hit with the younger members of the group.

i have tried every indian restaurant in the gidea park area but kushi until yesterday what a mistake i have been making because this one i have fallen in love with staff were so attentive and friendly and the food was so lovely that when we left my with didn't even want here evening cream pie as she was so full . 10 out of 10 great job guys.

I first visited last week for the time and enjoyed a very nice meal with my girl friend. I decided to bring my friends over from work. The nice waiter recommended the specials off the blackboard and I ordered the Kushi Mix Balti, which was very nice! We all had a great evening and would definitely be back again for more!

I was recommended to try out Kushi in Gidea Park as it offered a range of quality Indian food. I was left very impressed by the beautiful Kushi seafood dish. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.. This shall now be my regular curry place!

I had booked a table , which they said they had no record of. It was only 7pm so we were offered a table but told the next seating for that table was for 9pm which was more then enough time for us to have dinner. At 815 the manager came over and rudely asked when we were going ,we hadn’t even been offered the desert menu. This was supposed to be a birthday family get together ,we had spent a lot of money as there were 9 of us but the whole night was ruined by rudeness. It could have been dealt with in a lot nicer manner. It’s a shame as we had been there plenty of times previously!

We have just had a meal booked for 9 . It was a family birthday celebration, first there was a mix up with their manager who said we never booked!and we used wrong number!!hows that possible? but he fitted us in as they had booked a table at 9 we arrived at 7pm which was ok. After an hour we were told by the manager are we ready to vacate the table as next group had arrived, we had not even been shown the dessert menu! This is absolutely disgusting! our bill was £130 !!! No apology at all and to say that we told him in no uncertain words what we thought of this treatment. I would strongly advise to look at other places, the whole evening was ruined by totally incompetent management and utter rudeness, the manager never even had the courtesy to apologise or even look at us when we left!

My partner and I had attended a wedding in the area and the couple chose to have their Reception in the restaurant.

Just enjoyed an excellent takeaway from Kushi, just really tasty fresh food. The lamb saagwala and lemon rice get a special thumbs up.

This is our Indian restaurant of choice. The service is excellent as is the food. This restaurant whilst serving some of the "usual" dishes served in an Indian restaurant has some excellent specialities, but we won't list them ... experience them for yourself.

Curry here much better than other restaurants around here I’m so happy to find the best curry I was always looking for Definitely will come back again.

Manager and waiter ridiculously rude, food disgusting, curry tasted like dish water from a previous customers dinner when asked for a new one was even worse, no apologies no nothing. Didn't eat the meal asked for a refund to be denied it spent over £100 too.

I have been here twice I cannot fault the service from the manager but one person does not make for a successful restaurant the standard of food needs to be consistent

Food and service great only one big problem was I ordered 2 pints of coke and they just poured it out of a bottle and when received the bill £7 for 2 pints of coke when I challenged if this was correct they said yes which I returned with that this was a disgrace daylight robbery if I was not in a hurry I would of refused to pay them for the coke unless a reasonable price was agreed. I know it is a buisness but at least dick turpin had a mask

For many years Spices has been the best Indian in the Hornchurch area, although you pay for it, but maybe not now.

Good atmosphere good food nice chicken shashlik was lovely nice... we had a party of 8 we all got food at the same time....always a lot of staff and some need to practice on their manners others are genuinely nice and friendly

Went here with my daughter just the two of us, when i walked in and asked for table for 2 the waiter went and got someone els to seat us and looked as though he didn't want us in there so so unwelcoming, there was only two other tables occupied i ordered, ate and left before any of them did, just to hurry up and get out there's no music no atmosphere and food very mediocre! Radhuni Indian Restaurant is just a little further down the road and is everything this place isn't! Wish I never tried somewhere new

Went here last night with friends from work, food was lovely.

This has become our favourite restaurant for Indian takeaway. There is definitely something different about this restaurant that sets it high above the rest. No run of the mill food here - it is very tasty and fresh with some imaginative specials and always arrives quickly.

We live very close but this was our first visit .. went with my wife to celebrate my 50th birthday. Like the idea of taking own drink as this always bumps up the cost. Was greeted and told it was set menu and they had a music act on tonight. We thought well it will be fun.. Im a vegetarian and they could not have done more to cater for me ..the chef even making he speciality .. the food was absolutely superb and very good portions too. A little more expensive than we expected but then we had the entertainment too. Im not a fan of tribute acts but it was good fun and nice to see a restaurant with people enjoying themselves rather than hushed tones.. staff superb.. will be returning again soon

Food was good, took friends for first time and they were impressed also. There is a specials board which is unusual for an Indian restaurant. No alcohol licence so we brought our own which helps keep the price down.

We visited this week for Monday night Thali as a birthday treat and it was absolutely fantastic. It enables you to have smaller portions of various different curries and side dishes presented beautifully. I cannot recommend a particular dish, as this was our fourth visit to this restaurant and we have never had a bad meal. The service is fantastic and it is wonderful for a celebration on a week night as the restaurant is quieter. It is made better by the fact that it is unlicensed so you can take a quality bottle of wine to enjoy with the fine food. It has a huge variety of dishes rather than your usual 'standard' curry house fare. The staff are also highly knowledgeable and genuinely care about their customers.

Me and the wife thought we would try this out after getting a recommendation from a family friend. We had a lovely welcome, we were sat down promptly, offered glasses and a wine cooler as this a BYO, they even poured the wine which is not something you normally see in a BYO. Had a lovely starter and fantastic main which was spiced perfectly, also a good sized portion which I struggled to finish.

Excellent service the food was amazing and had a nice feel about the place, will definitely be going back asap.

We attended a meal for around 50 people. The staff coped extremely well and the food still retained its high standard. The staff were happy and all smiling although they had to cope with such a large party.

This is now the third time we have eaten in this restaurant and on each occasion it has been excellent. The food is wonderful - we have tried lots of different options and they have all been excellent. The service gets better on each visit.

The food was good and the service was attentive. There as a buzz to the place and we all enjoyed the occasion.

This restaurant has only been opened a few months and we have visited half a dozen times and the food and service is fantastic. I can not praise it enough. Also, as they haven't an alcohol license, you bring your own so it ends up being a very cheap night. Fantastic place!!

Excellent food and service. I've been here twice now since the restaurant has opened and had one takeaway. The staff are very friendly and the food is beautiful! I highly recommend this place. Was my first visit at Kushi Gidea Park today. I don't usually do this but after the exceptional customer services and the quality and standard of the food i had to leave a review. Firstly the customer service; staff were extremely helpful, friendly and very patient. Service with a smile is definitely the ethos in this place. The deco and atmosphere is spot on, the place is lovely and extremely clean. This now brings me onto the food, so the waiter recommended the Thali, and the food was delicious!! The Thali consisted of a meat, chicken and veggie dish and all the dishes tasted AMAZING! The portions were very generous! Now for the price, i paid no more than £15 for the Thali and it was 100% value for money, the generous portion for the price we paid was superb! I would certainly recommend this place and i will be visiting here again.

Popped in for a last minute meal with some friends, we were greeted by very friendly staff and service, tried one of the thalis and have to highly recommend the Chefs Special. Great atmosphere 10 out of 10. Will definitely be back

Came here with some friends to try out the thali mondays offer. Greeted by friendly staff and had our drinks orders taken and served straight away. We didnt have to wait too long for the food to be served and it was served nice and hot! Staff were at hand to ask if everything was ok and refill our drinks. Food tasted excellent and was wiped clean as can be seen by the pictures! Excellent value for money and an excellent venue all round- would definitely recommend and be coming back here!

I have come here today for a business meeting and thought give their Monday Thali a go. Food was superb, and price was very reasonable, £14.95 for that thali is more than worth it! I will definitely come here again, best Cuisine in that area.

'Dined' at this restaurant on 1st January, 2017, which we were attracted to by the BYO policy.

The food was 100% perfect and could not have been any better even if it was carved from gold. Though the food was soo good the customer service was even better, with great friendly waiters and amazing helpful service

Had a business meeting at kushi which was my first time. I thought that food was good and the service was excellent as they kept us informed and got the food to us quickly. Also i love that it is a bring your own alcohol restaurant as its cheaper and there is an off licence close-by. There is a waiter look like theo walcott who was very friendly and helpful. Definitely we will be back.

The food is good but they always forget to deliver AT LEAST one thing off your order (also If you pick it up). I have been in there to eat when they first opened they messed up all of our dishes, missed some off. There was around 12-13 of us and they had just opened so we didn't kick up much of a fuss but it's still happening... I've ordered food from them Around 10+ times because the food is really good but we are always missing food!!!! It ruins your meal when only half of it is delivered and then to have to wait again.. the food gets cold etc. I'm a vegetarian I've also had chicken dishes be delivered to me when I have ordered veg ones, but to top of the experience.. last week we ordered from here and they missed some of our food off (again, you honestly start to expect it) but the guy on the phone decided to tell me that it's not their problem, was really rude and that it was going to take over an hour to deliver it again they did not want to bother fixing the issue!!!! My brother picked up the food and said it was really quite in there but they didn't want to send our missing dishes to us as an urgency? Btw you DO PAY FOR THE FOOD THEY MISS OFF, it's not that they haven't put it on the order they just don't put it in the bag!!! The service is so bad that was the last straw for me being spoken too So rudely by someone that messed up our order again and again and again.

Went to the Kuchi on Saturday 17th Dec 2016 with my partner. Had a fantastic meal as always. Food is excellent, severice outstanding nothing too mocha trouble for the staff. Best Indian around will always be our no1 choice.
