Kurdish Bakery in Gateshead

Saw this place on Newcastle Foodies and decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! Fantastic food, friendly and helpful staff. I got a mixed shawarma and my wife got a chicken one along with some baclava. I have to say it was one of the tastiest takeaways I've had. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Incredible wow! I just accidentally passed the shop during the way back to the hotel. The place looked a bit old and not attractive. Yet, the chicken shawarma looked so tempting. I eventually got into the shop to try their food. I tried both chicken and lamp warps. Both are perfect. Overall, everything is top notch. Fresh bread (made to order in tandoori), protein (good seasoning) and veg. They also sold it at the remarkable price. It was just 3.5 Pounds for about 12-inch chicken wrap. Given this price, their wrap could possibly be the best warp I have ever tried in the UK. And the service was also great. Those two gentlemen I met were very friendly. I hope I could go back someday.

Went specifically to eat their shawarma after the university trip. The best, fresh made, stuffed with meat. These people are very honest- thank you for feeding us. Only problem is that I will have yo travel 100 miles to eat it

Not only is it some of the best Middle Eastern food around, its cheaper than most fast food joints, the staff are friendly and you can actually get something halfway healthy. I came out with a large falafel wrap, 4 baklava and a drink for funder £10. Best bread ever. Those who know, know!

Still fantastic for a shawarma wrap, but they don't sell flatbreads anymore.

Gateshead hidden gem. Fresh bread from a stone oven, the cleanest grilled meats and excellent service. Can normally get a meal for about a fiver too which is excellent.

Not a bakery, but a really good kebab cafe that also does takeaway. I had the lamb meal which came with a giant helping of delicious lamb pieces, two side helpings of chopped salads, a big serve of very good fries and an enormous flatbread. A real bargain and my only regret was that I was on my own and could not get close to finishing the meal which was enough for 2. £9 including a can of Diet Coke

Their Sharwarma cooked to perfection on a skewer. And in a wrap with salad, with a very reasonable price......a very underrated place, delicious, and definitely great value for money.

Just finished my falafel wrap and it was amazing! A bit salty and I didn't get tissues for takeway but other than that the best falafel I ever had. For £3,50 you get A LOT! Great job. Thank you for the food.

Don't judge a book by its cover! The shwarmas are £3 or £3.50 and they make these beautiful fresh naan breads to order to wrap them in. It's amazing value for money, especially with all the rising food costs. They also take card and the guys are super friendly, which is a bonus. The chicken shwarma is my favourite followed by the lamb then the lamb skewers. I go for all the fresh salad, chilli and garlic. The chips aren't very good, but definitely go for the meats as they are all super juicy and tender. You can also just pick up a bag of fresh bread for £1. You can park on the street outside or in the free car park a little bit down the road. The activities on Coatsworth Road should keep you entertained whilst you wait... 😁

Very friendly staff. Small menu but delicious food. Fresh cooked naan breads.

Great place run by a family. Authentic and basic dishes with limited menu. We got lamb kufta with naan, chicken quoozy with okra curry and chick pea soup/curry separately. It was all excellent. They even gave one extra naan for no extra charge.

Popped in for a shawarma on my way through the area, for the value and taste I would definitely pop in again

Estaba caminando junto a la tienda con mi perro, ocupándome de mi propio negocio cuando un empleado de la tienda se quedó parado junto a la puerta, mirándome y cuando me acerqué a él, ¡me escupió! Definitivamente fue intencional porque me estaba mirando hasta que me acerqué. Afortunadamente, me mantuve solo y lo ignoré, de lo contrario lo habría linchado. ¡Un ser humano repugnante! Parece que es una de esas personas que probablemente se unirá al luchador de IS debido a su total desagrado hacia mí y lo que represento.

2nd time I've had a chicken shawarma from the Kurdish Bakery. It's delicious. Brilliant value for money & very tasty. I highly recommend the Kurdish Bakery if you are in the area.

£1 for four freshly baked flat breads! Epic!

The homemade naans/flatbreads here are amazing and fantastic value at only £1 for four! Also, the chicken and lamb shawarma wraps are excellent and again so cheap at £2.50/£3. Great lunch spot for anyone living or working in Gateshead.

Not the fanciest place in town but definitely one of the best, both the lamb and chicken wraps they do here are amazing and the naans are baked fresh for your order.

Very cheap but very good food. The flat breads are baked in front of you and the wraps are to die for. the only reason I gave it a 4 was because of the small choice.

This has become one of my favourite lunch spots, with a small menu of inexpensive and fresh Kurdish dishes. Bread is freshly made on the premises and a chicken or lamb wrap with salad will cost you no more than £3. A recommended budget option.

Un amigo nos trajo algunos de los panes para comer con un curry y estaban tan bueno que nos llevó de Berwick Upon Tweed a Gateshead para obtener más.Están hechas mientras usted espera y deliciosa para comer allí y entonces. Hacen excelentes panes para ir con curry, un poco más delgado como pan Naan tradicionales, pero genial todos iguales.También congelar bien y regenerarse directamente desde el congelador, siempre que no te dejan en el horno durante demasiado tiempo.Bien vale la pena el viaje.
