Me and my friend visited this evening. Me with coeliac and my friend with a dairy allergy. The process made us feel very at ease and made us feel safe to eat there. Many options for a dairy allergy and a quite a few for gluten free options. Joe (I think his name was) looked after us and knew the menu very well, but still double checked to make sure nothing had changed. All round great service and a great place to go with allergies!

I cannot resist going to Wagamamas whenever I'm at the metrocentre. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. They're very thorough when it comes to allergens and have the manager take and deliver the order. There's so much to choose from for being gluten-free. The vegan options also taste incredible - the mushroom skewers are fantastic. I really like how healthy and fresh the food tastes, and this is consistent every time I visit. Definitely recommend! I wish they'd open one in Durham - it would do very well.

The food was delicious. It arrives at different times which we were warned about. However we ordered sides one of which arrived around 30 seconds after placing the order which was suspiciously quick, it still tasted fine. The mains arrived at the same time followed by the second and smaller side which I thought would arrive quicker given the size. Delicious

They repeatedly got our order wrong and we ended up having to spend 1.5 hours there for what was supposed to be a quick meal. The standard is much lower than the other wagamamas I've visited.

Service was friendly and efficient. Loved the food, ordered tofu rice bowl and it was delicious, spices and flavours were spot on. Had a lycee soft drink that I would also recommend. Price is reasonable for what you get. Will definitely go again.

Everything was absolutely great—the food, service, and atmosphere. I ordered the Raisukaree Prawn, which was delicious and I would rate it 8.5 out of 10. The Salmon Soba was outstanding, deserving a 9 out of 10. I would also like to extend a special thanks to Glenn, who made us very happy with his professional service. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Have visited the Wagamamas a number of times now and couldn't fault the staff or the food!

I have been here many times but my last 2 visits has been pretty bad. The chickens had some bad smells. And flavourless foods.

Rubbish over priced so called “Asian food” for people that have no clue about real Asian food

Came for Father’s Day, queue out the door. Overcooked claggy rice and all meals came out at different times. Probably better when it’s not busy but if your waiters are sweating through their shirts (as the waiter with the ponytail was) it’s really not a hygienic or professional look. Will definitely avoid this place on our next visit.

Really good value for money, great service and delicious food

Wagamama food used to be fresh and delicious. Not any more the curry and beef salad were poor. The curry was bland and short of sauce and the beef in the salad was tasteless.

I used to like this place but it seems to have really gone down hill. We used to sings it's praises for how authentic the food was, but now I don't know if they are cost cutting or what, the food tends to be bland, the menu is anything but Japanese, its just a confused mess of different cuisines.

Visited on a Sunday evening on the way up to Newcastle airport. Not the best meal I’ve had at Wagamama. The pulled pork gyoza were mealy and my main meal arrived ages before my husbands did.

I went out with my fiancée for her birthday and we were met with a waiter called Joe. Brilliant service and kind. I would recommend everyone to come here.

First time having food here, got the katsu curry, daughters was OK but mine was cold. Our waiter (ben) was excellent and very professional. Can't see me coming again for a curry.

Overpriced for what it is. Use to be a good price for the food, but the cost of living crisis has upped the price beyond what it’s worth.

Food was okay, very spicy (another menu which doesn't rate the chilli heat of the food). Everything is woke on the menu. So if you're a Vegan, you'll be happy, but as someone who adores eggs in their mayonnaise, having vegan mayonnaise as the only option is a massive turn off. No planning in the kitchen, so food comes out when it's ready, meaning dishes get cold before the rest of the meal arrives. Quite an underwhelming experience because the fold was okay when you could avoid the wokeness, but not somewhere I'm going to rush to return.

Amazing food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. I'm here at least once a month and it never disappoints!

Five of us went out for tea after work. We didn't have any side dishes, just our main dish. Surprisingly, all the meals came together and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, so no problem getting seated (it was Monday teatime).

Ordered 3 mains and 3 starters. One of us had an allergy and was catered for really well. Partner had the Mackrel dish and said it was amazing. I had the chicken ramen and it was really poor, the ramen tasted very strange and not at all like it usually does. I didnt eat much of it, but the server took it off the final bill so no complaints.

This was my first time at this Wagamamas. We were seated promptly and given enough time to decide what to order. We were being helped by someone new - he said it was his second shift (I think). He was really helpful, made sure we didn't have allergies and asked what we thought of the food when we were done. 10/10 service by him well done 🩷. Our food arrived within a reasonable time frame despite it being so busy. All staff appeared calm and collected despite the slight chaos of the restaurant. Thank you so much

Nice food, drinks are expensive.

We had been sceptical to try wagamama as it would not be our usual go-to cuisine. However, our experience here was top-notch. The food was amazing and absolutely bursting with flavour. The staff were extremely helpful. There was nothing bad to say about the experience. We even had fun trying to use chopsticks for the first time.

Meant to be a family meal for my kids 8th birthday. Most of the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and there was a really disjointed atmosphere from the start. People were having to go up to the staff and ask if they were coming to take orders as they were being left for so long, including us. To cut a long story short, they got multiple requested elements of the meal wrong, my daughters noodles had to be sent back, they served my son his ice cream before his main meal and added toffee sauce which he didn't want, one of the starters was burnt and had to go back, the main meals turned up 10-15 mins apart so we couldn't eat together and to top it off, the food just wasn't very nice. I complained to the manager who was actually really apologetic and gave us the meal for free but it just about made up for it in the end. He also offered free desert but we refused as we just wanted to leave by that point. Props to him and his professionalism but unfortunately we won't ever be returning after this experience.

Decent enough main courses but poor Gyoza starter and inedible Edamame - in a bowl with a handful of salt thrown on the top. Waiter seemed to be just going through the motions.

My recent dining experience at Wagamama's was nothing short of a disappointment. The glaring issue that overshadowed the entire meal was the shocking quality of the pork belly meat in their ramen. It wasn't just a matter of it being fatty; it felt like it lacked any semblance of quality meat. While there were one or two pieces of meat that could almost pass as decent, they were hopelessly outnumbered by the overwhelmingly fatty portions. It's disheartening when a dish you've been looking forward to is marred by such inconsistency. I had higher expectations from a renowned restaurant like Wagamama's, and this experience not only left me figuratively unsatisfied but also literally with a bad taste in my mouth. Regrettably, I cannot foresee myself returning or recommending this place to anyone else anytime soon.

Seven of us went for a meal we were seated without waiting too long and our orders taken. Esme was given colouring pencils and pictures whilst waiting for our meal . Vegetarian options were great. Food was delicious and arrived quite promptly the drinks were delicious too although the did provide a drink that wasn't ordered.Would highly recommended.

Staff were friendly and helpful, noticed my son didnt eat his meal and offered to get something else. Food was great as always. Service was quick even though it was a busy bank holiday.

Excellent meal in this busy MetroCentre lication. Super speedy drinks service Order process was splendid with knowledgeable server. Food delivered quickly and accurately. Very tasty. Good disabled access. Variety of booths and stand alone tables.

The nicest staff. Food was lovely. My little boy decided to try ramen but one bite in he realised it wasn't for him. The staff were so helpful and replaced his meal with his usual fish bites free of charge. Just overall lovely service.

I really do like wagamama , my only issue is you can't book and table sizes are small ,and not great for people or child autism, or people with mobility issues . I am currently on crutches, had to wait in the que outside and then was shown to a small table with barely any room around it for me to easily sit down . Apart from that food is good and staff are friendly.

Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Very consistent in their quality. Every time we visit we are impressed with how fresh all of the ingredients are and how friendly and accommodating the staff are. Always great service!

We visited for my grandsons birthday. At 10 years old it is his favourite eating place in the metro. We have been before, but pre-covid. It is very pleasing to know that the excellent service and food still prevails. As expected, the service was first class and the food was equally a very high standard. The experience was one of total enjoyment. Thank you Wagamama for making my grandsons treat so special.

First time I have visited. Greeted by friendly, helpful staff and shown to table. My husband I both had the most delicious grilled duck donburi. I was surprised to see a fried egg on top of it but it went really well with the roasted duck and rice. Unfortunately, I ran out of space and could not finish it! I would definitely recommend.

Food was delicious as always! The lady on the door (brown hair and glasses) was lovely and friendly despite it being busy. The lady who served us (young blond woman with glasses) seemed to have a problem and left us with a cold feeling. She took away everyone's plates and abruptly asked if we wanted deserts while someone was still eating and then acted as if we'd had a go at her when we said we'd wait until they finished. Made us feel like we had to rush. She also dropped vinegar next to our table and left it until another (much friendlier) member of staff noticed it and tidied it up. It made a nice meal into an awkward experience.

The ramen was delicious, and the food was fresh. While Wagamama can get busy later in the day, the staff are friendly and meet our needs. I enjoyed their rose drink - I highly recommend it!

Food was great, it was quiet so the atmosphere was chilled. But the best thing about it was our server Ewelina. She was amazing! Very friendly, attentive but never intrusive, knowledgeable and patient. A credit to the restaurant.

Really love Wagamama BUT having 3 tiny prawns in a Prawn Yaki Soba (no chicken as we are Pescaterian) for £14 is a little bit tight on their behalf. Dont think I can justify paying that again. Service was great though.

Can't believe I'm about to say this but only recently lost my Wagamama v-plates (I know right, where have I been?! 🤣) - but went here for somewhere different for my besties birthday meal out and we will definitely be back! We ordered two starters and mains plus drinks (both "special drinks", none alcoholic but not just squash or pop either) and it was just a smidge over £50, which isn't bad to be fair. We both thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes. The food, and style of eating, is just that little bit different. Which is always a good thing! The staff were lovely, explained everything such as how the food comes out when it's ready rather than all together at once, meaning one dish could come before the other etc - it didn't bother us, in fact I liked the fact it was so blatantly fresh. Paying at the end was dead easy too just using the app to scan our barcode in off the table. Mega easy! Oh and another thing I liked, because of this there was no pressure to leave a tip. I mean I love TGIs but I do hate that they hang around with the card machine and you just know they're watching to see if you click yes or no fit the tip at the end 🙈🤣 All in all, we will definitely be back!

Great vegan selection with even the drinks labelled, which I appreciate. There's usually a queue because of how popular the place is but the staff will usually provide a menu while you wait and seat you quickly and efficiently. You usually receive the server's name and every time I go we always have a good time. They will make recommendations and clarify anything you are uncertain of. Big props to the firecracker tofu and the vegan ramens, especially if you like spice.

First time here. Loved it! Great menu, even has LOTS of vegan options. Friendly staff and swift service. Hopefully I'll be back

Het eten was goed en werd snel geleverd. Alles komt achter elkaar en er is geen tijd tussen het voorgerecht en hoofdgerecht. Persoonlijk vind ik dat er niet zoveel smaak was, natuurlijk kon je dit zelf afmaken met de sojasaus aan tafel. De serveersters waren super vriendelijk.

For the price the chicken katsu was poor.. chicken was as thin as the soles of my shoes, big portion of rice, and not enough curry. We asked for extra curry. For 3 x chicken katsu, 2 x peach tea, and 1 carrot cleanse £50. Won't return in a hurry.

big fan of wagamama- first time visiting the metrocentre location. customer service is great , there was a queue and it went down fairly fast and we were seated in good time. the glasses we were given alongside our drinks were dirty :( the women’s toilets were also dirty. one of the toilets doesn’t flush and the other had no toilet roll , the hand dryer for some reason is only reachable for toddlers so you have to fully bend down to dry your hands , the tap was also leaking and flooding with water .

Second visit this year. The food is so clean and fresh. Absolutely delicious. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

We're visiting for 3 months from Australia but are from the northeast and have visited here 3 times now, including introducing my grandma to the place who loved it. It's always been busy and we've always waited for a table but never for long and we've been given menus while we're waiting and been chatted to by friendly staff. The staff are very friendly and efficient and make good suggestions about the menu. I always get the chicken gyoza ramen with chilli paste on the side at the waiter's suggestion given it's already fairly fiery and rice noodles (always worth asking for your preferred type of noodles which they seem happy to accommodate) and my grandma had the ginger chicken udon noodles. Tastes fresh and flavourful and consistent every time. Satisfying portions. They seem educated about allergies (I have an epipen). A new favourite

First time me and the teenager have been. Been wanting to try for years but I'm a picky eater. So as teenagers do I got teesed in to going. And you know what. I loved It. You can tell which of the dishes was mine. But it was lush and a totally morish. One dish of this and was stuffed. The price is OK. If I took the whole brood ther either would be costly. But for 1 or 2 people it's managble.

Staff were nice and friendly however the main meal, the chicken Katsu, wasn’t that great - sauce was a bit dry and not enough of it. I would most likely come here again but to try something else.

This was our first visit to Wagamama. We were not disappointed. Quick to get a seat and to be served. The place was lovely and clean. The waitress was lovely and polite and the waiters too. The food was prepared not far away from us and the kitchen staff were very efficient looking. The menu had a great choice of starters and meals, very easy to read The food was outstanding. Our taste buds were exploding from all the flavours! Paying for our food was very easy to use with the scan code. This will not be our last visit, newly converted Wagamama fans 😊x
