KungFu Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

I don't understand the other reviews here. I've been here twice and planning more trips at the moment, although at the time of writing this it is temporarily closed (not sure why). I've been there with my parents and my boyfriend on different occasions and the service was lovely. Food tasted amazing, everything was clean and the plates were warmed. We also enjoyed some of the chocolate fountain. The price is completely reasonable.

Poor choice, everything was cold. We complained and were told the ovens weren't heating properly that day. Really ? seems to be a long standing problem reading reviews. Staff not bothered, dressed in track suits and trainers. No thanks on leaving. Worst by a mile,never again.

From the outside, it looked lovely... Located in a popular area of Stratford, we expected something half decent! As we walked through the door we were met with a man dressed in tracksuit bottoms, grubby trainers and a T-shirt. We received no greeting and instead was met with “4?” (How many seats we needed) Food was mediocre at best. Lots of dishes were lukewarm and there were dirty plates in the plate warmer, that we had to replace. As for the waiters, they sat around on their phones as multiple tables hadn’t been cleared away, despite customers leaving at least 10 minutes previously. We therefore had to move our finished plates onto another table. At no point did anyone come over and ask how the food was or offer anymore drinks. We ending up eating one plate each before deciding to pay and leave. On the way out, we said thank you to the member of staff (The same man we met on arrival) and was ignored. This pretty much summed up the whole experience. On a positive note, the woman behind the bar who took our payment was pleasant.

Evening price £18 I don’t understand for what. That’s was my first and last time in this place. I don’t recommend 😬

Lunchtime visit today 1-2-23 the only thing good about this visit was leaving! Food very poor variety and cold, plates seem like they are stored in a refrigerator, guy looking after you I didn't know whether he was here to help or for a break dancing competition! This was 9.99 for the lunchtime menu and I felt like I paid £7 too much, please I have done my bit so if you do venture into this 3 level down from a street vendor establishment it's on your head.

Food very poor staff wearing tracksuits no conversation with there customers can’t no music playing in the background on the hole could not recommend it

Nope pretty shoddy, small selection tepid temperature. Nothing really to recommend this place apart from the £10 cost, would have been better off going to wetherspoons.

Went for a meal with work colleagues, went in at 7.30 pm 4 other people in there ! All of the food was dry and looked like it had been sat there all day!!all of the staff sat / lay on a table in front of us waiting for us to go home! We got up to leave and before we had gone out the door they were clearing it all away !!

Me and my family picked to eat at this restaurant to keep everyone happy. Buffets are always good when you have fussy eaters. We were able to walk in but I would recommend booking a table as it filled fast. We went at lunch time. We were able to choose a table and they took our drink orders. There were plenty of choice of food. Chinese...sushi...desserts...although I did find that there wasn't much choice for my 8 year old who would've loved some simple chicken balls (we couldn't find any) The chocolate fondue was a family favourite. Lost a star because food wasn't hot enough. We would eat here again for sure.

I enjoyed it, though I found the food to be a little lukewarm (as is common with many buffets) good service, and despite it being lukewarm, the food was alright. the ice cream tasted a little like the aftertaste of a plain McFlurry, but that might be just me. i'd come here again, though I'd prefer it if the food was /hot/

The food was extremely poor quality. The restaurant was very canteen like and the service non existent. Never again!!

It's a bit of a soulless restaurant to be honest. Staff don't engage or try to make it a nice experience. The food is tasty, everything I tried was good. What has knocked the review down is the fact most of the dishes were cold. They are very slow to refill the trays of food. We asked for more of a few dishes to be done sharply, they will be refilled....my question was when ! Having said that we went at 5pm it maybe better the later you go. If they sorted this I would definitely return.

We did not go looking for somewhere to eat but saw this restaurant and found the menu appealing. So glad we went in and will definitely visit again on our next visit to Stratford. The food was excellent and there was a huge variety of choice. Everything cooked to perfection. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Prices very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Awful service. Doesnt cater for veggies and vegans at all. My friend and i had to have plates of broccoli and green beans. We also weren’t asked by anybody if we’d like a drink. When paying, we asked if we had to order drinks at the counter and were told by the lady serving us that someone would be over to our table to serve us. When we informed her that this wasnt the case and we were neglected for our meal, she completely ignored us. No apologies given. Dont waste your time. Awful service and average at best food.

Visited here last weekend for lunch and was a little dubious about it after reading some reviews. Was greeted by the friendly staff and proceeded to the buffet which was ample and nice. Can’t actually fault the taste of the food but the service was awful. Waited ages for the mains, some items come after we had finished. Halfway through ordering drinks the waiter/manager walked off and served another table. If the service is improved we’d definitely return.
