Kum Tong Takeaway in Shropshire

I've always loved this takeaway but it's gone downhill since the previous owner Lisa left. I had a chicken curry, it was very thin, watery and bland. The normal takeaway container is 650ml but you now only get 500ml what a rip off. Lisa's gone and so have I now!

Kum tong used to be a great takeaway but it has gone down hill in recent times I have noticed the portion sizes have got smaller especially for the curry dishes they are using 500ml have been using Shanghai town in high town there portion sizes are 650ml and contain more meat and vegetables and are cheaper it's such a shame as Kum tong was the best

Started using kum tong this year after using china dina for 17 years and stuck with it very good food. Only trouble is they don't deliver

First time visit to this takeaway and I have to say from ordering to collection was so easy,two minutes wait and the food was ready We had two special curries and they were both excellent quality,tasty and good sized portions. Will definitely use this as my local Chinese takeaway now,5 stars all around.

Great Food. Never had a bad takeaway here. Can be very busy in early evening. Great service too 👍 Best to ring in order to pick up.

This was our first & last visit to Kum Tong takeaway, chicken curry was bland, but worse was the chinese roast chicken on bean sprouts, the most disgusting meal I have ever seen after 1 mouthful went in the bin, For the price they charge we were not impressed £19. 50 down the drain.

just your very average Chinese takeaway, nothing special. Also its cash only, which they don't tell you when you order.

We ordered food after not eating from here since Lisa and her family sold the business, absolutely diabolical, the food was a disgrace. Lisa you ran a great take away and the food was great but whoever you slid to has no idea how to cook. Give it a miss

This is a take away venue and not a restaurant. It’s an order and collect. The food is fabulous. Best Chinese meal vendor in Bridgnorth. The set meals are great value for money. Highly recommend.

I have been using Kum tong for over 20 years always fantastic.i have been to many Chinese take away .but now will only use this one and drive 20 minutes to collect it .by far the best Chinese in Shropshire. Well done Lisa .

Chinese New Year, they were open bless them, called order through over phone with Lisa 1/2 hour before collection. It was ready when I arrived, great service from Lisa. Chicken and sweetcorn soup, Cantonese sweet & sour, special fried rice, banana fritter. As usual I cannot fault the food or service. 5 star

Without a doubt this is the best Chinese takeaway around! Always look forward to a takeaway from here after coming back from a holiday. Lisa is very friendly and waiting time to collect food is reasonable.

Always busy so leave plenty of time for a drink!!! Best Chinese in Bridgnorth though!! Plenty of good pubs in Bridgnorth to have a drink at whilst you wait. Wish they had a restaurant as well!!

Lisa and her hubby cook lovely food always hot always tasty and it's ready when they say. I love the mixed curry it's our favourite. Far better service with a smile than the other local takeaways from the other Chinese restauraunts in Bridgnorth. China diner usual waiting time one hour ,Kum tong 15 minutes,says it all realy.

I have been using this takeaway since moving to Bridgnorth 17 years ago. It has never failed to deliver. My husband has lived all over the world, including Singapore, and maintains that Kum Tong serves the best food - so who am I to argue? My daughter lives in Birmingham with many, many Chinese restaurants to choose from, and still prefers Kum Tong's Cantonese sweet and sour chicken. Lisa is always lovely to her customers and makes it a pleasure to give her your business.

Authentic Chinese, not Cantonese. Tasty food and service is friendly. Would recommend highly. I've been twice for a takeaway now and will return in the future.

Good quality Chinese takeaway.It is best to order your meal in advance if you can. The Kum Tong is always very busy.

My family has been getting take away from here for years the food is always brilliant and the staff are friendly, and after a couple of times make effort to know you on a first name basis They are always honest with any time waits and don't make you wait longer if there is one, any estimates as well are on time if not sooner and the food is always hot :D

We have been enjoying Kum Tongs takeaways for over nearly forty years. In my opinion probably one of the best takeaways in the UK. Only down side is that it is too popular. Only word of caution, the place gets so busy that if you order by phone always add at least 20 minutes to the time LIsa quotes, otherwise no problem. Spring roads are to die for. Our kids now live all over the country but when they return they always want a KUm Tong takeaway

We have had several meals from this restaurant now and we have enjoyed them all. It is obviously we!l thought of as it is always busy. Good selection on menu. Highly recommended.

Food is gorgeous. Lady friendly. Good decent meat used. Batter for king prawns the best parking usually ok. Prices good

Good and consistent at reasonable prices. Have used this one for years, tried the others but have always gone back. Only change I would to see is extending the menu to include salt and pepper prawns etc.

This place serves great food with great service, you can call ahead so no waiting when you arrive, I've not found a Chinese to beat this place anywhere on my travels.

I have been buying from here for at least 40 years. The king prawn, ginger and spring onion dish is always consistently good, as with the spring/pancake rolls - a meal in themselves and my favourite alternative to rice.My husband can never resist Lisa's chicken curry with rice and chips, you don't need rice AND chips but somehow he always comes home with both.Never had a bad meal, nor he wrong dish delivered . 10 out of ten!

lisa and her family do bridgnorth proud and always very busy, the food is always nice we have never had a bad meal and if yo uwant to ask about the menu lisa will help no end, because she is always busy if you ring a telephone order in you may have to wait for her to answer

After eating from "Lisa's" for over 30yrs...i can say without a doubt it is simply the best Chinese takeaway in the town.

I have been having meals from here for the last 25 years and have travelled some distances as I have never found another that compares and I have tried many different takeaways over the years.The barbecue spare ribs are to die for and the chips are wonderful. I truly have never had a bad meal from here! In fact just about to order one now!
