Kudos Chinese & Thai Takeaway in Brighton and Hove

We ordered this food on a whim quite late in an evening after a long day. Every single dish we ordered was a 10/10. The food was piping hot when it arrived and only took around 20-30mins to arrive. We ordered Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, lemon chicken, egg fried rice and spring rolls. The portions were super generous we had enough for lunch the next day. This will definitely be our go to takeaway from now on.

This place used to be a lot better, I think they may have changed owner, chef etc as food is horrible not tasty small portions, will not go there again and never recommend, staff rude over the phone when you try to make a comment about the quality of the food the made.

I live close by and use Kudos fairly regularly as my go-to takeaway. Compulsively get the same dish so can't speak for other menu items, but food is always tasty, will never tire of it. Portions good, enough for a meal and breakfast the following morning! Owners friendly and polite.

We have been using this takeaway for years and it has never been anything other than exemplary. Great food, well prepared, on time and family staff who run it more than delightful.

Pros: Cheap. Good quantity. No food poisoning. Cons: Every sauce is the same. We order quite a few dishes. They managed to all be grim and bland.

Just had the pleasure of my first delivery from kudos (hence why I’ve not given stars for atmosphere) have been looking for a decent Chinese delivery for a while, this was the tastiest I’ve had. Looked good, tasted amazing, prompt delivery, lovely meal. Will definitely be ordering again and will be the place I recommend

I have been living in Brighton for a little over a decade at this point. This was the first take away place my partner introduced me to. Since then Kudos has been the only place I get Chinese take away from in Brighton and I have never been disappointed. I will stop going here once I am dead or they close down and not before.

Awful food, dry and tasteless tofu, the spring rolls were also some of the worst I’ve ever had. Would not recommend when there are so many other asian restaurants around.

Best takeaway in Brighton. Ignore the negative reviews. I've never had any issues with this restaurant.

My partner and I ordered a takeaway from this place and have both been violently ill from food poisoning into the night and all the next day. Food hygiene is definitely not up to scratch.

Our first takeaway from Kudos, absolutely amazing, someone at work recommend. I can now, concur, best Chinese & Thai takeaway in Brighton if not the whole if Sussex Updated 19 November 2022 Normally always fantastic, this time the tast is there, the vegetables crisp and nice taste, but, the chicken, it's changed, not good quality, almost like lab grown chicken breast, maybe? I'm willing to pay more for main meal, just want better quality meat, this meal is in the bin. Hopefully they read these, and change meat supplier. Please

Our go to for Chinese takeaway. Salty spicy squid is incredible. Also, their Thai green curry is always a hit which is available with prawns, beef, chicken, or vegetable - we always go with beef! Let’s not forget the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken 🤤 The food is always nice and hot with excellent customer service. A truly lovely lot. We love Kudos!

First time order. It didn't disappoint. Arrived hot and plenty of it. Definitely will order from here again.

Really good Thai food same as Chinese, I loved it!

Really tasty food from lovely people, good quality food. I would say though that the veggie mixed starter isnt that great and my friends said the same for the meat starter but everything else is delish!

Good value take away offering excellent Chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken balls are a favourite of mine. Also the special chow mein.

Spare ribs overcooked again, the meat was so tough ans crispy that u couldnt even chew it, nor swallow it! Salt and pepper squid were so yunmy first time i ordered from here but today they were a little overcooked. Please please stop overcooking the ribs and squids!

I was hungry AF. I can usually eat the whole container of crispy beef it’s so moreish (from anywhere) but something was off about everything. Singapore noodles weren’t the right spice combo, crispy beef was bland or something? Crispy duck was weird too! Dry? Can’t put my finger on why. Each thing was just not quite right and the flavours were just not hitting right. I barely made a dent in the stuff we bought. Gf too.

Great food highly recommended Until today! Ordered food and tried to pay with a £50 and was told that they don't that note! My food came to £18.00! So your telling me they couldn't give me change. Which you could. So much for being loyal!

Don’t trust the menu or the prices. Not a good restaurant at all!

My favourite, food is fairly priced, and really nice. Staff very friendly. Highly recommended particularly the salt and pepper ribs and Singapore vermacelli with curry sauce.

Ordered padthai, what I got was basically a chow mein with peanuts. Not very good.

Good points first. Price Speed of delivery Rice. Bad points The tofu chilli don was so incredibly sweet it was like putting 3 Cadbury cream eggs in your mouth at once...for me not edible! I thought it would be like pompoko in brighton but alas not. For a good one thats your place. Veggie crispy duck had an odd coating and tastes sweet even without the plum sauce. Aubergine main was sweet. Tofu thai green curry sweet and didn't taste like a proper thai curry. Was missing lemon grass and lime. Veggie spring rolls was just batter no veggies in the middle. Spent 40 and threw away 30...of yeah the beer was ok. If you have a sweet tooth this could be the best alternative to sweets!

The food was tasty but the delivery arrived, one hour late and the restaurant did not tell us neither call us.

Delicious food for a great price. Been eating here for years and wouldn't order from anywhere else. Ribs are my favourite.

Placed an order from here on a Friday night and firstly, it took an hour and 40 minutes to arrive, after having to call them up after an hour and a half of waiting! Now for the food.... the king prawn with fresh ginger and spring onions was in a (what seemed to be) packet gravy sauce, which wasn't very nice. Their special chow mien had near to no meat in it, very tiny pieces of chicken and maybe one minuscule prawn. Omg don't even get me started on the house seafood mixed starter, £8.30 for 2 dry, small prawns, 2 tiny, tasteless squid, seaweed drowned in sugar and 2 spring rolls which to be fair were good. Now I have only had a handful of Chinese takeaways but this cannot be the average standard? I will say that the pork in black pepper sauce was tasty and the mixed seafood in black bean sauce was flavourful (however lacked the seafood). This was the first and most likely the last time ordering from here.

Amazing customer service and great food. Spent £33 and that was enough to do 2 chubby guys 2 big meals each!! the tofu is some of the best I've ever had. employees were lovely over the phone :)

We tested many Chinese/Thai takeaway around Brighton This one is one of our favorite Tasty and fresh Special mention for the Spring Rolls (2pcs) who are fresh and crispy! Always on time! Sometimes earlier if you choose Asap delivery.

Soup was nice, although the egg drop soup needed more egg. Seaweed had far too much salt and sugar. Prawn toast was very hard, possibly stale before being fried. Sauce on the crispy chilli beef was sweet and sour sauce.

I always order from kudos, but today i had problems with the driver to refuse to leave my food outside my door,,,,,, he just lefted downstairs, the food is arrive 45 min earlier,,,,, i wasnt dressed Im 50 years old and i could have been very sick with walking problem,,,,, and he just refused to leave it outside the right doar!!! Im very upset forr this nonsense) I also order some kebabs for my daughter and friend, the delivery just arrived and the nice driver left it outside my doar with a beautiful smile!!! So,,,,, Kudos,,,,,, change your attitude,,,,,, people can be unable to walk down the stairs!!!

Best Chinese Takeaway in the whole city, food is always fresh, hot and tasty. Never had an issue with quality or order mistakes. Delivery is fast and friendly. Can't fault them. Plus the menu has Thai and Japanese dishes if you fancy something a bit different. Highly recommended

Great food, really friendly staff, excellent service. Love the range on the menu too, bit more variety. Salt and pepper squid is my favourite dish and they do it perfectly!

Had a Take away- Lemon Chicken which was fabulous. Loads of meat (+ thick slices) + lovely lemon sauce. Special Fried Rice also packed with meat + a huge portion Excellent Meal. Highly recommended.

Best Chinese food I have ever had! Such wonderful friendly staff too. Food is made fresh (I'm pretty sure, I can't prove that however. I wish they opened a takeaway in Coventry where I study! They could teach the takeaways here a lesson.

I ordered food to be delivered it was hot and came quite quickly it just wasn't good when it came. I'm always suspicious of places which offer such a diverse menu and unfortunately it lived up to my fears of a jack of all trades master of none.

We have been using Kudos for a few years now, great food, always hot and delivered quickly. We can highly recommend :-)
