Kronks deli in Argyll & Bute

We had a nice sandwich on the lovely terrace in the middle of the Oban city centre. This is good for a quick bite.

Up in Oban for 2 nights and had brunch here both mornings. Cuppa and panini. Absolutely delicious with piping hot cuppa tea. Invented my own paninis both equally delightful. First day had haggis chicken and cheese and they do not scrimp with filling. Set me up until Mt evening meal. Staff friendly too. Highly recommend 👌

We were faced with a choice of two next to each other but Kronks had their menu outside so we went for that. Inside everything looked nice and clean and you could see what you were getting. The staff were friendly and prices we felt very reasonable, there was something for everyone. We all had paninis although having seen some salads got out I wished I had chosen one of those. Good combinations for paninis and nothing too much trouble. Drinks made and food came out fairly quickly whilst we were seated on their tables outside. The one next door shut up whilst we were there and we were glad we didn't opt for that one! A great little spot and excellent value food, would definitely go again.

Worst place I have eaten in a long time , food undercooked, coffee tasted like water, kitchen looked dirty , unfriendly staff I will never go back.

Stopped in here for a breakfast well that was laughable. Asked for full Scottish breakfast I asked for tomatoes instead of beans the girl Said we only do cold tomatoes . When breakfast came out it was in polystyrene containers with wooden cutlery. I’ve never tasted breakfast like it, was disgusting 1 lol sausage undercooked 1 rasher of fatty bacon, 1 black pudding full of grease, I asked for 2 potato scones instead of hash brown. They breakfast was awful it all ended in the bin, how can you go so wrong with cooked breakfast and it was expensive also. Definitely avoid when visiting oban.

Cafe near the seafront with pleasant outside seating area. That’s where it ends, food is ‘served’ (not sure served is the right word - dropped in front of you) in polystyrene trays with wooden knife and fork. This would probably be ok if you are having a sandwich but not great for anything else. I ordered a Latte - they have the machine to make decent coffee but sadly no barista training and I got a cup of milky coffee with skin on top which was really unpleasant. Could be such a nice place due to location but no effort made.

Ate breakfast there 3 mornings and eggs cooked perfectly. People very nice and great service. Quick and easy and in a perfect location.

We just had the most amazing cheese and bacon burgers. Toasted brioche bun Mmmm Friendly staff. Quick service especially since made from scratch. Husband said very good coffee too.

Great coffee! Freshly made food and friendly service. Deli offerings, cold beverages and hot coffee. The seating is limited and mostly outdoors, but is in a wonderful little plaza. Would visit again if ever in town.

Le pire petit déjeuner depuis longtemps. L’endroit est sale et sent mauvais, le petit déjeuner est horrible et infect (galette de pomme de terre cuite dans une poêle sale, steak congelé ….) bref il y a certainement mieux à Oban.

We ate a breakfast roll, soup, and banana & honey bagels. All very nice, great value and good service.

Ordered my takeaway lunch here today. Paid for it and told to wait outside for 5/10 minutes. Waited 25 minutes and had to go in to ask what was keeping it. Staff all too busy chatting to each other and they hadn't even started to make it. Not rocket science - come on. Haven't a clue about customer service or being efficient! Dreadful service. Surely they have to be thankful to have customers again! Don't embarrass Scotland with this poor poor service - get a grip! I wouldn't waste time going here as there is so much competition around.

A good place for carry out rolls, salads etc and they are open in time for breakfast. There is a sitting out area for when the weather is good, with views across the harbour. Friendly service and the food was good.

Whilst up in oban for a short break we discovered this deli and made use of it on 27th/28th/29th april. We made use of it for fresh salad rolls. We were happy with the quality of the rolls they were very fresh. We found the price was very fair too. When we are next back up we will use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

I visited here on Monday 15/11/21. The place was quiet, I ordered a latte with oat milk. Not enough milk for a latte but maybe an Americano. I decided on black tea. I also ordered a tuna Mayo and red onion sandwich on brown bread. I paid and was given my tea and told sit outside and I will bring your sandwich to you. Ok sat outside and it started to rain very lightly so I moved to under the awning. Well 30 minutes passed and no sandwich, I could hear non stop chatting and a guy went in and saw him getting his food then a few others went in an ordered food but still no sign of mine. I went in and asked where is my sandwich “what sandwich was the response?” They then said “oh yeah sorry we forgot about it, do you still want it?” I said well yes I have paid for it. Eventually my sandwich was brought to me and I was asked do you want a drink of juice to make up for us forgetting. I politely said no thank you. Who knows how long I might have waited? The sandwich itself was just ok, there’d was tuna there was mayonnaise but no red onion. All in all a very disappointing experience and I will certainly never be back!

Stopped here for breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Service was fast. The breakfasts were reasonably priced and very tasty. Would definitely go back.

We threw out 2/3rds of what we ordered because it was such poor quality. The one bit I did eat, a slimy, tepid tuna wrap, has given me food poisoning.

Waited 20 minutes for a couple of greasy wraps and a completely inedible sweet chilli chicken panini: slices of plain chicken splashed with a load of supermarket sweet chilli dipping sauce. Low quality ingredients, badly thrown together. Went in the bin!

Just popped in for carry out breakfast. The guy serving doesn't know how to smile. Didn't ask if we wanted butter on the roll, just assumed we did. No pointing out to help yourself to sauces. Tiniest coffee I have ever bought and it wasn't...

The cafe is situated overlooking the harbour so gets really busy. Lots of food to choose from , for example, baked potatoes , sandwiches and baguettes. Tables at times were dirty with debris left from previous customers .

Visited here with mates in the morning for breakfast decent breakfast and a cup of tea reasonable price as well defo be back

A group of us went for lunch service was great lovely friendly girl on the till made us feel very welcomed our panni’s were beautiful would definitely be back

2 BLTs and 2 teas...bacon burned, cheap bread and marg thrown together. For the price they charged i expected better.

The brie and cranberry panini was simply delicious. My friend thought the tuna melt was too cheesy!!

There is a limited menu of standard cafe fare. The outside tables are appealing with a view of the harbour and high street. Burgers were thick and meaty and coffee was good. They don't go on presentation here, though; burgers come in plastic boxes and...

Sausage rolls, with egg and nice cappuccinos. The cappuccinos were more a kind of lattes, but still good. Location is great, right by the harbour, great place to stop and watch the world passing by.

Whilst the location is pretty good, with a view over the port of Oban, we found the service pretty poor and unfriendly, which is a shame because our drinks were very nice

We visited here on 2nd October, planning to have food and coffees. The woman serving was downright rude, staff were not wearing masks, and the cleanliness appeared to be generally poor. Cannot comment on food as walked out without ordering due to the woman's attitude.

Lovely ppl abs excellent food here - would definitely recommend stopping by for a snack or breakfast.

Bonita zona de estar exterior y limpia.Pedimos un panini cada una de las bebidas que llevamos enseguida.Nos dieron los panini en una bolsa de papel. Me encantó el panini, comí queso y atún, hizo que la bolsa estuviera bastante aceitosa. Buen té y buena comida en un entorno encantador.

Es bueno ver que la ciudad recibe una costumbre muy necesaria, por lo que habrá un gasto adicional para la protección de Covid en todas las instalaciones, por lo que es probable que la calidad se vea comprometida, la sopa estaba bien, sin embargo, se necesitaba un poco más de sabor, la hamburguesa, aunque grande, en gran parte no tenía sabor, también fue decepcionante el café un capuchino debería tener dos tragos y ser más fuerte que un latte era bastante débil el bizcocho de coco que conseguí estaba ligeramente seco debido a que no estaba debajo de la tapa del bizcocho.

A lovely fresh and clean deli in the heart of Oban. Wonderful staff greet you, and a selection of sandwiches which just take you to another level! What we had was excellent, fresh , well seasoned and tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Ahora a todos nos gusta una cuchara grasienta, pero este lugar es perfecto para comenzar tus aventuras en la costa oeste. Estábamos en Oban para una visita como un grupo de amigos y, como teníamos un comienzo tardío, decidimos caminar por la ciudad para tomar un desayuno rápido y nos encontramos con Kronks. ¡Es asombroso! Se coloca en el paseo marítimo con asientos exteriores y dentro limitados. La calidad de la comida era excelente con el servicio con una sonrisa también. El personal de allí también nos ayudó a encontrar el lugar al que íbamos con instrucciones, por lo que hicieron todo lo posible para ayudarnos. Definitivamente volveremos cuando visitemos Oban nuevamente. 5?

A nice take away style cafe. Had breakfast rolls. Reasonably priced and nice to eat. Would recommend.

We wanted sandwiches for a day out and wished we'd got them somewhere else. Low quality ingredients indifferently assembled. Forgetably tasteless, except each time I see a bath sponge I'll be reminded of them. They have one of the best locations in Oban and are completely wasting the opportunity by serving rubbish

This deli needs to have a look at how they handle the food and veg. Bare hands being used to grab everything and shove it into plastic boxes. Never once saw any staff wash there hands after handling cooked chicken. Not hygienic at all

We did enjoy our choice,Staff were very helpful.Busy little café with a good choice on the menu.It was very clean and the Staff smartly dressed.We were served Quickly with the minimum of fuss. we would recommend and we will be back again

This place is terrible. With a prime location and presumably a hight monthly rent, I don't understand how a place like this cannot afford to be slightly more environmentally friendly. The use of plastic in this place is appalling. From plastic forks, knives and straws on disposable single use orange juice cartons, to horrible styrofoam boxes for your food and endless single use individually wrapped brown sauce sachets, this place has it all. Food is not great either, sausages likely 90% fat. Avoid this place if possible.

Good choice of sandwiches, panini, etc all freshly made to order and with external seating area enjoying a view over Oban Bay.

And only 2 pounds each. Service was great , very fast. Small place with outdoor seating overlooking the Bay.

We were looking for a bite to eat around lunch time. Kronks had loads of options at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed the food so much we went back for coffee later in the day!

Nice place to have a break or breakfast, especially outside in a sunny day, a few tables and a nice view. Inside is small, the breakfast is fine, the wraps too, you can fill them as you like. Fair price. To try

Paramos a tomar un café para sentarnos afuera y disfrutar del sol. Teníamos dos Americanos (sin leche) que eran solo cafés negros planos. Al tener una máquina decente en casa, sabemos que un Americano necesita el agua caliente primero, seguido de un doble disparo de espresso para darle a la cabeza espumosa el mejor sabor.

Es una tienda de sándwiches y queríamos un sándwich. Sin lujos, muy pocas opciones de asientos en un día lluvioso, pero pudimos conseguir un poco de sopa y un sándwich de panini que eran bastante sabrosos. El personal (2 mujeres) fue muy amable con nosotros. Recomiéndelo más como un sándwich para llevar o si el clima lo permite.

This is a cheap and cheerful cafe/sandwich bar. Catered for the whole family, salad boxes were generous and filling, panini’s tasty and the kids box had a decent size sandwich. Friendly staff, spot on for a quick bite.

Had a burger and a salad box, both were very average. Staff seemed very busy with no time for small talk. You can sit at a breakfast bar and watch the world go by. Quite a few small places to eat on this street so should have tried them.

It was terrible I had a beget it had to much butter in it and they don't clean up lay are going dead

I came with my two friends and they thought it was amazing the staff where so nice.I had a cheese and ham panini and it was the nicest panini I have ever had.

This place used to be good but now it’s absolutely horrendous. Went in today and the staff were so unwelcoming it was unbelievable I paid almost £19 and didn’t even get a smile a thanks nothing. The girl just spent the whole time on her phone while my panini was burning. Another of the Toasties were burnt wish I took a picture. Go somewhere else, for the amount they charge you can get a weekly shop.

Abysmal customer service - sullen staff - such a shame as all other Oban eateries have been fab - suggest you try Little Bay Cafe next door

Great position on front, sitting outside in the sun, with a drink and healthy but filling salad box, wonderful. Popular deli take away with large selection sandwiches, tempting cakes, hot and cold drinks. You can sit inside if raining by room limited.

Unlike other reviews I found the staff both pleasant and accommodating.

No greeting or hello, nothing. Not even a smile. Wished I’d walked out the door there & then, but we were hungry.

Grumpy and disengaged staff supplying low quality food with a scowl. The best thing I can say about the cooked breakfast is that it was cooked. The cappuccino was made by someone who had learnt how to do it from diagrams and failed to pay attention. Awful. Stay away.

We got the best HAM, CHEESE and PICKLE Paninni ever ...it was delicious and would recommend to anyone....

Popped in fabulous beef and horseradish sandwich, friends had egg mayo with bacon. Really good coffee scones and Danish to finish.Lovely

Ich habe einen Chicken-Wrap bestellt. Dieser wurde direkt und schnell zubereitet, allerdings nur mit Fertigsaucen geschmacklich aufgepeppt. Hühnchen war auch recht wenig drin. Daher mein Fazit: schnell, relativ günstig aber geschmacklich und qualitativ sehr einfach und nicht besonders. Die Location ist aber schön gelegen und eignet sich für eine kleine Mahlzeit für zwischendurch.

Appalling. Sullen staff. The eating bar was not clean ( lovely view of the harbour though). Food served( loosely speaking) in disposable dishes. Food practically inedible although my husband said his was fair. Don't bother.

Chicken mayo panini was not very great as it was very dry with no flavour and there was no mayo if there was then it’s a very little amount, better of with diced chicken than having chicken strips. But Kronks is a good wee cafe most food is very tasty but just some of the paninis could definitely be improved on

The food is very good and the staff can't do enough for you. We ordered our dinner and took it back to our B&B.; It was very tasty..and the prices are very inexpensive. When travelling, sometimes you just want a lite and inexpensive bite ..this is truly the place to go.

Wonderful yummy cakes served with cappuccinos! A delightful sunny afternoon so we were able to sit outside at their appointed table and chairs. They share the area with the coffee/deli shop next door so be careful to sit at the correct tables or you'll apparently "get chased off!"

Came in for pastry & coffee. Scone was very dry(old?) and coffee tasted like tar(joking). The coffee was terrible though....

Went here for a coffee and sandwich - everything is sold in disposable cups etc - what about waste? Furthermore there appeared to be a terrible atmosphere between the two women working there, not a good impression for customers. Sandwich was on horrible white sliced ( what I call plastic) bread. Why not try some real bread for a change? As the fillings were actually quite nice. Could do with some improvements.

The food is nice .the view on to the bay is good .there is nice food and nice cakes are nice and they have free wifi.

Great place for lunch in a town full of choices. We had the soup (squash and curry soup!) and brie with cranberry and bacon sandwich that were both exceptional. Very friendly and efficient staff - what a nice place for a meal!

Went for breakfast here. Full Scottish for £4.95 - but you have to pay extra for a drink, so it's really £6.35. Fairly quickly cooked and served - but all in disposable containers even if you're eating in, so a few marks off for that. Feels like a local's cafe.

On a very nice, sunny afternoon, we sat outside and had 2 paninis which were good. The food was what you would expect. My only real minor complaint was it seemed to take a long time to prepare and serve. We would quite happily visit here again

Vacant staff, empty caff, boiled brown sauce and gloopy cheese "Panini" simply the worst thing I have ever placed in my mouth.

As regular customers we have enjoyed the home made soup and freshly prepared as ordered sandwiched on lovely whole meal brown. Disappointed as no soup and not the usual tasty brown bread. Hope usual service sesumed for next visit !

This little deli gives you great deals.For example two filled sandwich ' plus largeBowl of soup. £5.20.

We bought food here a couple of times. the food wash freshly prepared and adaptions from the menu items were readily made. We would undoubtedly gone back, if our stay was longer.

Not great, square sausage so hard it could have broken teeth, bacon had clearly been cooked before and haggis and black pudding soaked in grease.. Not great for £4.50! Tip the Corryvreckan served a nicer, bigger, cheaper, fresher breakfast.

Pas cher mais pas bon et pas aimable ! Bien placé, l'endroit semblait sympa et bien il n'en est rien. Les trois jeunes femmes sont très mal aimables, n'espérez aucune aide elles préfèrent discuter entre elles. Notre accent franco-anglais écorche sans doute leurs oreilles écossaises et elles ne font aucun effort pour nous comprendre. Nous prenons des jacquets patatoes qui ne sont vraiment pas bonnes, nous ne les finissons pas et allons acheter une soupe dans l'échoppe d'à côté. Bref, à éviter, il y a tellement mieux à Oban et les Ecossais sont d'habitude si accueillants, ne perdez pas votre temps

Came on holiday for a week. After a wee walk down town we fancied something quick to eat.There was a lot of choice but we decided to have burger. Burgers were beautiful. Quick service and nice friendly staff. Highly recommended!!

Dame die het eten maakt werkt erg onhygiënisch. Handen werden na het aanpakken van geld niet gewassen, ze zat continu overal aan tijdens bereiding en had een armband van stof die overal in hing tijdens bereiding. Eten teruggegeven tot grote verbazing van de dames achter de toonbank. Wel netjes geld terug gekregen.

Wir hatten Panini, Kuchen und Tee. Preis/Leistung i.O. und das Gesamtpaket mit der Sitzgelegenheiten vor dem Restaurant und freiem WLAN ist gut.

Salad box was prima en dat gold ook voor de dagsoep. De disposables mogen milieuvriendelijker en de bediening wat vriendelijker.

Kleiner Laden. Sehr sauber. Total freundliches Personal. Alles wird ganz frisch zubereitet. Günstige Preise. Ideal für einen schnellen Kaffee oder Snack. Liegt unmittelbar bai der Oban Distillery. Auch netter Ausblick auf die Waterfront.

We didn’t get breakfast at the hotel we stayed at so we went in search of a spot to grab something quick and inexpensive. We stumbled across Kronks and had a decent meal – the scrambled eggs and sausage roll and coffee was a great deal for just £3.50. The rolls were freshly prepared and we ate at one of the outside tables that have a great view of the downtown waterfront area.

Wir waren da um etwas Kleines zu essen: ein Sandwich und einen Salat. Der Salat hat ganz gut geschmeckt. Das Sandwich hatte ich mir besser vorgestellt, aber anscheinend ist das schottische Sandwich anders als die in Deutschland. Daher war es ganz okay.

We visit kronks regularly and it never Disappoints us, the food is just amazing, especially the panini's. There is such a wide variety to choose from and the staff are so kind and helpful. It's a somewhere in oban you must visit, i highly recommend it.

Kronks is a small sandwich bar in Oban. It serves the usual range of sandwiches, paninis and rolls but the fillings offered tend to be a bit better than available in some other places in Oban. The bacon rolls are especially good. There is a small bar one can sit at and in summer there are tables outside on a new pedestrianised area which has been installed this spring. This will probably be very popular in the summer - when it eventually arrives.
