I had a Krispy Kreme donut years ago from Tesco and my immediate impression was there was no flavour at all. Turns out the ones in the actual cafes are no better. Had a donut filled with nutella coated with chocolate frosting and it might as well have been a ball of sugar filled with sugar coated with sugar. Right at the end I got a microscopic hint of hazelnut but largely everything just tastes sweet with no actual identifiable flavours. Typically American. Coffee was nice and staff were lovely but won't be returning.

I do love this place, the staff are always nice, the window to watch the doh nuts being made is covered at the moment to stop people forming crowds, As usual the seating area is very clean, I have an exemption for mask wearing, but I strongly believe if you can not comply with the mask rules you should stay in, so I always wear a mask, but it can leave me very breathless, the duty manager noticed I was struggling so she got me ice for my drink and got me a seat near the door. You are allowed to remove your mask when eating. I am very grateful for her kindness

Drive 25 min to get donuts only to realise they’d run out. 50 min round trip for nothing, how can a donut shop run out of donuts!

Attempted to buy donuts twice this month. First time no donuts available at all. Second time only original available. 30 minute drive to get nothing.

It's rare I leave somewhere with a need to share my experience but I feel I have to take the time to compliment the amazing customer service and fantastic donuts I experienced whilst visiting here. The staff member I dealt with (Sam) was beyond helpful, I wasn't really sure on covid restrictions and didn't really know what was on offer etc but she took the time to go through the products and best direct me, with a friendly personality she made the whole experience stress free. The donuts were delicious (everyone at work agreed) and over all I'm super impressed and will certainly be back.

Luckily arrived when it was quiet and was able to take advantage of the Gov's Eat out/ Help out initiative. Served by Kieron*. Very helpful and friendly, credit to the store. BEWARE seen many people disappointed in the past as they load up on doughnuts and then get denied discount as the venue is at its newly reduced capacity. Discount is only available to dine in, but as your clever you probably knew that.

Me and my family went into Krispy Kreme not knowing what to buy, we then got served by a lovely man who was so generous, it’s a shame I didn’t get his name! He was so lovely he gave my daughter a free doughnut too 🥺, we will definitely be visiting again 10/10

The coffee was actually amazing. Would never normally get a coffee from here however the iced coffee was really nice. What’s better to go with donuts than a coffee. They should make a meal deal with donuts and coffee. The original glazed donuts is just perfect. However I’m not very happy that they have increased the price even more.

I’m an NHS worker and KK have offered a free box of 3 original glazed doughnuts and drink daily! I’ve been twice and been served by Stu...he is a credit to KK; really cheerful & nice young lad. Quick to sort out your drink and delicious fresh donuts. Thanks for the freebies, KK I’ll still come back when all this is over!

Went through the drive through on our way home from shooting at the metro. Sign said the speaker was broken so we went to the window and there was no one there. Store was open and staff were inside but was totally ignored.

Disgusting customer service by Sam and Lana basically laughed at me and my family. We were ignored then told we were stressing out a 30 week pregnant lady (lana). I would never return to this shop as we were treated so badly we couldn't even eat out donuts with the feeling of disgust. No manager was available to complain too. You desperately need to sort these staff members out!!!

I’ll echo what another review said.. girl who is called ‘Sam’ literally laughs when you order, she needs firing.

Visited via drive thru, when my partner was speaking the lady on the speaker couldn’t hear at first. He then repeated himself to be literally laughed at for the way he spoke and named a doughnut. Found this very uncomfortable and very very rude. Would not return here for the terrible customer service.

Dropped in here for some doughnuts and had the surprise to see that this particular Krispy creme outlet is where they make all the donuts for all the Krispy Kreme’s in the north-east of England! If you come between 7 pm and 8 pm you can even have a freshly glazed doughnut straight off the conveyor belt. Bought some doughnuts whilst here and the staff were more than willing to talk about the process of making donuts and there donuts we bought from here were absolutely delicious.

Meh I'm not a fan but my partner loved them they do a really nice iced coffee though. On the expensive side for what they are

Great place to stop off for a doughnut treat. This shop was modern, clean, bright and had lots of choice. We got the to choose from the Easter selection which were very cute. The guy that served us was friendly and helpful even when my youngest took a while to pick his doughnut.

They were really cool and family friendly as we wanted to play a lot as well as eat doughnuts The doughnuts were fresh and tasty and they had activity packs. We’ve been told if you go between 7-8 on a Monday to Friday night you get get warm original glazed straight off the belt. The best time for the doughnut show otherwise is 2pm.Really recommend the Easter lemon glaze doughnut bites.

In with my wife and two of my children. Asked if the Cloudy Lemonade was fizzy, told yes but when my kids tried it, it was not. Went and asked to change it as misinformed to be told, we don't do fizzy lemonade and you would have 2 buy 2 new drinks. Staff member was not budging and refused to help resolve. Awful customer service and now have to go somewhere else. Very poor do not go here with young kids!

We come here regular for a little dessert after eating in the nearby restaurants, it always has lovely staff, plenty of selection and with the help of the student discount they offer it is also reasonably priced! X

Underwhelming experience this venue used to be full of smiles and doughnuts but after my latest visit I doubt I’ll be back. They had no doughnuts in the counter only had glazed, crullers and apple pie left.

Tray of 3 random doughnuts . Devoured inside restaurant of course !! Service was smooth , no rush or annoyed staff while I made my decisions, there is a lot , I think I was speaking with a manager called Carl, very polite , very enthusiastic about his work . Restaurant was clean and tidy not very busy value for money , think I’d return maybe next month or have to be hitting the gym more .

We called in, having spent the day in the Metrocentre while our van was being serviced. Had a doughnut and tea. The doughnuts were really nice - they all looked enticing! The tea was in a generous cup. The lass serving was helpful and pleasant, and it was fun to see the 'theatre' where they cook the doughnuts - and my, don't they make a lot there!

Called in early morning for a Latte and a Double Exprsso. Of course we had a donut each! The Coffee was first class! Superior to Starbutts and the donuts were fresh and really tasty!

I went through a phase of eating these all the time. The packs of 12 or so are good value for money compared to the single doughnuts. I am still partial to one every now and then. The chocolate one with the custard in is my favourite. The drive thru is a good feature!

Managed to just make it before 10pm closing, the guys were cleaning and I do not have any problem with that, everyone wants to go home at the end of a night, respect!

We called in early this week for a coffee, hot chocolate and two doughnuts. We were served by Keiran who was lovely, so polite and natural. When he came to serve us I said we would be a while as we were having difficulty choosing as there were so many to pick from. He asked what we particularly liked, to which I replied, 'All of them!!' Anyhow we chose two doughnuts and with the drinks it came to £5.90. Great value!

My partner an I went to Starbucks then decided we wanted a donut too! Went through the drive thru. We where served by Kieran (I think) we only wanted 3 donuts but he explained all your offers and we came away with 12 donuts. Explained we could freeze them etc! But his service and chatty nature was lovely to see! Wonderful lad!

I had cousins visiting from Birmingham and they have a sweet tooth... thank god for Krispy Kreme having a 25 hour drive through. My cousins were impressed as they dont have a drive through in Birmingham.

Utilizada para reuniones de negocios y wifi gratis, cómodos asientos y café y donuts más increíble! Hay un montón de sabores, lástima algunos clásicos han ido. Genial cuando dan probadores caliente. Fui en muchas ocasiones y siempre un buen servicio y no tuve problemas.

It's always the final destination after a shopping trip with friends. The staff are always friendly and helpful, always a good selection, worth taking up the donut and hot drink deal.

I was surprised to see the price of some of the doughnuts on sale, and as much as the flavours are unique, I don't thinks they're any better quality than the pack of Asda doughnuts you would get for half the price. I daren't ask how much my partner pad for a box on 12. The seat cushion was loose, not a problem in itself, but the amount of old food and crumbs underneath was worrying. Many of the empty tables had empty cups and crumbs left on them for some time, and the floor had just as much old food over it. I saw someone clear the tables once, but no one attested to wipe the tables or clean the floor. The only reassuring thing about it was that you can see the doughnuts being made, and this area didn't look as neglected. I probably won't return out of choice. Not worth the cost.

I have to admit I just love Krispy Kreme doughnuts! And here they have the works: a real doughnut factory and tons of different doughnuts to choose from.The service is a bit haphazard but friendly, the coffees are Americain sized and the doughnuts are great!

We went to get shelter from the storm today and it was some storm!!Lovely donuts, great friendly service, my 5 year old enjoyed watching the conveyor belt of awesome donutness being born. 3 at a time!Not cheap, but a fab experience and really worth a visit for a cheeky treat, just don't think about how much the donuts cost!Plenty of flavour combinations and good coffee too. Next time it rains and we are in Gateshead, we are heading to krispycreme :)

Had a lovely time there. They took my daughter for a doughnut making adventure where they had her make her own hand dipped doughnut. Very friendly staff and wonderful doughnuts

Great place to grab a coffee and/or a doughnut - pricey but that's what Krisy Kreme is all about really! Don't forget your NHS Discount mind!!Great location with easy parking & clean, comfortable booths as well as a handy drive-through. Service is great.You can also watch the doughnut factory & see them being made - everything's visible so no hidden horrors while they're cooking - you can see it's spotless!Only problem is during the kids holidays they can get groups of unruly teens so avoid those times if you can!Also remember even if you're on a diet - they do non-fancy (low cal) coffee & a great drinks selection so it's still a go to place even if you're not getting a doughnut (believe me I managed to resist!).Great for meeting friends before or after a trip to the Metrocentre to avoid not seeing them in the crowd.

Visited this Krispy Kreme via the drive through and I cannot fault the doughnuts from this store. We had a box of three: chocolate dream cake, original glazed and biscoff.The drive through isn't small like some drive thru's, we have a large car, and there was plenty of room and the service was prompt. I would definitely visit again.

After a good night out for food in the metro centre this place will always be a winner. The staff are brilliant up for good banter and just in general lovely people.

Lovely fattening tasty doughnuts. Yummy yummy yummy. Loved the strawberry milkshake well worth a visit. The only downfall is if you shopping in the metro centre it's a bit of a pain to find.

Since my last visit they have added two new doughnuts to their menu. Salted Caramel and Lemon Cheesecake (I think, it's lemon something). Hot damn the salted caramel one is fantastic. I'm tempted to buy a mixed box and take 12 of them!

Brilliant that you can see the doughnuts being made , kids were entertained for what could have been hours. Staff were really friendly and even gave the kids a little talk and song about the making process. Good choice of doughnuts and better choice than the cabinets that are in tesco. Shakes were also delicious and we liked the building and selection of merchandise for sale.

I was skeptical at first about this place but damn is it great for doughnuts. There's a massive variety of delicious flavours. Clean diner and we'll manner, friendly staff. It's a bit expensive with each doughnut being about 1.50, 12 for 12 of your own or 9 for 12 glazed rings but they are worth it. The Krispy Kreme paraphernalia is extortionate but at least they don't force it on you like other places. Needs a loyalty scheme though I think.

Popped in here as our last stop after a long day shopping in Gateshead Metro Centre and the place was clean and there were plenty of donuts being made through the back.Opted for the double dozen offer and the barista, Karen, was very patient as we tried to pick which ones we wanted. She was very friendly and offered us a bag for the donuts and didn't do the dreaded inspection and inquisition of our Scottish money(!) A well kept shop with friendly faces and fresh, delicious products and was a great end to a very enjoyable visit to Tyneside :)

I visited with my brother during a shopping trip to Newcastle. We parked just outside and as we walked in the smell of doughnuts freshly baking was incredible! We really liked that we could see the doughnuts being made through a large glass panel. We approached the counter area and the displays of doughnuts were beautifully presented. We stood back whilst we made the difficult decision of which doughnuts to choose! We eventually decided on a peanut butter one, a limited edition love bug one and a caramel one. This box of 3 was £4.50. Quite pricey but the doughnuts tasted amazing. The staff were great, so polite and friendly and there were a lot of comfy places to sit inside and enjoy your purchases! The place was spotless and the atmosphere was fun. We will definitely be back!

We had our daughters party at krispy kreme metro centre and have to say a massive thank you to all the staff involved especially Karen and Arron and the guy who had was working his first shift! They went out of thier way to be friendly and welcoming, generous and organised and the kids had a fantastic time. I would absolutely recommend this place for a kids party.

I have to say I had the best service ever today at the drive thru served by the amazing Andy who normally is manager at Leeds he worked his charm and managed to get them to make me a strawberry glacé donut as I live 50 miles away and don't get them very often I was devastated not to be able to get my favourite oneSo top marks Andy it was amazing and you have restored my faith in men haha I will definitely be back !

very good apart from the massive queues. Massive choice of doughnuts. Staff are pretty helpful and nice. Not very overpriced at all! Would return. Have been a couple of times. One in Durham is my closest but only been to that one once and it's quite small. This branch is one of the best. That I have been too. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Krispy Kreme today with my two children and my niece ordered a doughnut each and a cup of tea the man that served me was very friendly, helpful and polite brought the doughnuts and tea over to my table excellent service I was also surprised to get my cup of tea in a nice big proper cup not one of the takeaway cups you get in other places, doughnuts lovely as always will definatly be back again.

I was curious to see so many negative reviews about the staff... I've got nothing but positive remarks about them. My daughter absolutely loves this place and the staff always make a fuss over her. We've only had one complaint when the milk for the coffee was off and it was instantly replaced and upgraded and a free voucher given as way of an apology. My father is diabetic and they even made the effort to take some doughnuts off the belt before the sugar was added for him. OK... the doughnuts are nowhere near the best I've tasted but then I've been to Red's in Monterey, California which often wins awards for the best in the entire USA. AND, they're not as good as the one's I've had in Japan either - would love to see an old fashion cinnamon doughnut on offer. But to say that the doughnuts in Tesco or Greggs are better... you've got to have no taste buds in your head to make a comment like that.

Ate in resturant a few units along from here and decided to have coffee and doughnuts here instead of the Sundaes on offer in the resturantFound Krispy Kreme to be modern, light and airy and very clean.We had good quality coffee and all had a different doughnut which we all enjoyed.Great variety of doughnuts available and although dearer than average they are good quality.You can also see the doughnuts being made by an automated procees behind glass.There is a drive though also for takeaway orders.Worth a trip for a treat

So after a stressful day a decided to try KRUSTY KREMES for the first time!!! staff where very helpful and soo friendly they give me one of the new doughnuts to try ( ringed with ice blue topping tastes like bubblegum really nice). I left the place with a smile thanx girls.

A bit of a novelty of course but man cannot live on doughnuts alone (and naturally that is all they sell). Choice of coffees and soft drinks. Nice airy modern store situated between Metrocentre yellow mall and metro retail park.

Like the title suggests really, myself and my partner popped into KK for a coffee / hot chocolate and a doughnut after a heavy session shopping in the Metro Centre. The staff were very friendly and polite and the food and drink was spot on!

Kids party for 7 yr old boys was a bit rowdy and crazy so apologies to any regular customers but thanks to Emma and Karen you did a great job keeping them entertained and in check. They had doughnut colouring in, Chinese whispers, balloon passing game, guided tour explaining how they are made, dunking and decorate your own doughnut (licking chocolate icing off your fingers compulsory) juice, donut birthday "cake" and balloons and all enjoyed it. A good party alternative for winter birthdays when choice can be limited (we combined it with a few goes on the dodgems at Namco beforehand). Now just have to eat our way through the free dozen and the iced dozen that made up the cake, its a hard life.

Absolutely lovely treat to have either before or after a visit to cinema, or anytime at all. Light as a feather and fresh as a daisy, the best donuts I have ever tasted! I could easily become addicted!

Krispy Kreme donuts are probably the most consist aunt food on the planet. The metro centre store is a funky shop fit and great coffee too.

Where do I start? Hairs in doughnuts, £7.95 for a party with one free doughnut and a squash! Total rip off! Go elsewhere, you'll be treated better!

I had heard of these doughnuts so when we saw the sign we had to try. The doughnuts are addictive and delicious varieties. We got ours to take away. It seemed very busy which is down to the amazing doughnuts. I could eat these all day!

The service was exceptional. The young lady we placed our order with was really attentive. She even made a point to socialise with our 5 year old. Coffee was really good and the doughnuts very tasty.

My honest opinion of this place is that its one of the most overrated & over hyped place out there and that the brutal truth.First of all there is so many doughnuts anyone can eat in one sitting and spending £12 on a box of doughnuts is in my opinion is just insane, but tell that to my wife lol , my thoughts of this place is that they are overpriced , over hyped, too sweet . We have also visited this place in different locations and its just the same I think the service is poor and the staff presentation is somewhat lacking often wearing uniform with food stains which does not give customers confidence on hygiene levels, we have also tried there drinks which we bought for the kids and these are very disappointing , we actually saw how they made it as the serving areas is sort of open kitchen style they used 2 cartons of different fruit juice brands I do not care to disclose here but trust me there are much better brands out there, blended it with ice and then put in some syrup not very original! When the kids had a taste they didn't like it and left it after 1 sip of it which basically tells the story there , I thought to myself I paid good money for these drinks so it cant be that bad so I decided to try it for myself best described as very syrupy cough medicine and this is putting it kindly. I know each to their own when it comes to reviewing eat out places but I really don't understand why people can rate this place so high , maybe because its the new place to be seen or a sort of status thing where your eating at a place that is so darn expensive. To conclude your better off buying your doughnuts from your local supermarket such as tesco , asda etc or even greggs as they are just as nice if not better and the money your saving put that to one side and buy all your status symbol items from the money saved.

I had my first Krispy Kreme in New York and my first UK version in Selfridges nothing changes, the Metro Centre drive through is a revelation and the coffee is better than Starbucks too.

When Krispy Kreme was being built outside of the metro centre, I figured I would never visit because you had to leave the indoors, but I visit very regularly with friends and have a coffee there, but I also like to pick up some doughnuts on my way home from shopping for me and my mam when I am in Newcastle Eldon Square. The doughnuts are as described, krispy and kreme(y) and you can watch them being made, book tours around the factory and you even get a free Krispy Kreme hat every time you visit.

Bought about 5 boxes for my party went down a storm. Friendly staff advised me on a mixture of donuts. So glad we have a local crispy cream.

Was told about this place by a student of mine. Being a bit of a pastry lover I knew I had to check it out and boy oh boy am I glad I did!! 16 DIFFERENT types of doughnuts. A box of a dozen doughnuts costs £10.95, so by the dozen they are really, really good value. The quality of them is ace and they taste amazing. All fresh and full of fillings. When you walk into the restaurant you can see and smell the 'doughnut theatre' where all the doughnuts are made freshly on the premises. From apple and cinnamon to full on double choc delights. We were served by one extremely friendly and helpful waitress. As we'd never been before she gave us a little description of each doughnut and joked on with us the entire time. Some individual doughnuts cost £1.65 but with the dozen box, the price goes right down. Lots of other little novelty products on sale too, from the doughnut styled chocs to doughnut cuff-links. Before we left the store the manager come over to us and gave us a little booklet all about the merchandise. We found the place to be spotless and the staff top notch. Will be going back to treat myself sometime soon. Well worth driving out to the metro centre to find this place or pop in after a shopping spree.

I took my nephew here the other day and was shocked by the state of the uniforms being worn by the front of house staff- they were really dirty and grubby looking. And this was 3 out of the 4 staff on duty at the time! I don`t think it`s the sort of image that Krispy Kreme would be proud of, especially as the shop was very clean and tidy.

It's odd having such a large Doughnut shop on your doorstep but getting to see the machine making doughnuts is pretty cool.They're pricey but you already knew that before reading my review.They're made fresh on site and they've not been made the previous day or been out in the air. It's a fluffier softer doughnut and the options they have will amaze you.What you want to hear is that the staff seem genuinely happy to be there, serve with a smile and though it's conveyor-belt service. (Get in, get out) Saturday and Sunday peak Metrocentre hours DO NOT TRY AND PARK, If I were you I wouldn't even use the drive through, it's a parking nightmare, you have no priority over the multistory carpark traffic. You can get stuck for what seems an age. If I were you, come out of the Yellow Exit (Bowling Alley/Arcades) and walk over. It's really not far like a minute walk and they've even put in a Zebra crossing. and yes...A box will not last. Best get the 2 boxes deal they do :-)

Overpriced and overrated! Prefer doughnuts from Greggs or Tesco bakery! The service wasn't so good; was asked what I wanted when I was stood way back in a large queue and without being able to see a menu anywhere or what was available at the small counter. Also not enough seating and tables. A lot of hype over something just because its come from America.

Well. Krispy Kreme does not disappoint at all! With an American ambience about it, the place is amazing. Although my mam didn't think so, I think £9.75 for 12 donuts is quite good because it's less than £1 for a donut, so I bought the assorted 12 box.OH MY GOD. They are beautiful, so so so worth the money!! However, I could not get through all 12 within the 2-day expiry date so I had to share them, something I was not originally planning on doing...When we entered, we were not sure where to queue as I did not know where the assorted boxes were, and when we asked we were taken straight to a till instead of waiting in line for the box of donuts. The service is really quick due to this, as there is already pre-packed 12 boxes of donuts at the till.Lovely lovely place, so clean and so tasty. Once again, we thank you USA

What a big selection we just wanted to try them all. They are the best. Service is very poor though, esp if you order hot drinks. We ate our doughnuts and went back for more before we got our hot drinks. Then they tried to give me a cold hot chocolate which had been standing god knows how long. One lady told us to sit and said she would bring them over, the lady who did bring them over said we should of waited at the end of the counter. This needs to be sorted.

Donuts are amazing but I don't always want something sweet. Altogether though, they are the best donuts ever with lots of choice!

We went here as we heard via word of mouth that the donuts were really nice.We got 8, little expensive but very nice indeed, so nice infact we went back a week later to get more! can be a little pricey but they are to die for - would definately recomend a visit!

You have GOT to try this place - may be a bit on the pricey side for a donut but the selection is fantastic and I'm no donut expert but these are really tasty!!! I'll be going back (to try the other flavours) but I won't be rushing as I'm still trying to work off the calories from my first visit.

Just been in with my son asked for two doughnuts which i got also i ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate for my son .I got my hot chocolate for my son which was luke warm, then i waited for at least ten minutes ,then i asked where my coffee was to three members of staff non of them knew where it was .Then i asked to speak to the manager non of them would go and get him or her .I dont think any of these people have been trained in customer service there was not one person who knew what they were doing . I will never ever go back and wouldnt recomend it.

been twice in one week this week... good quality product and delicious. well priced for quantity and quality recieved. good atmosphere and easy to access.

I love visiting Krispy Kreme, the staff are always friendly and smiley, the atmosphere is vibrant and bright and the doughnuts are delicious! There are many different flavours to choose from and sometimes you receive a free doughnut while you're in the queue which are hot and fresh off the production line. The coffee matches the doughnuts perfectly and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Worth a visit if you happen to be at the Metro Centre.

visited here for a big treat for my son's birthday. on arrival the restaurant looked very clean and bright. you can see the doughnuts getting made and while we were standing there we were given a free doughnut which was nice. there are lots of doughnuts on the shelf and you can decide which ones you want. we got a box of 12 which the lady stated were the best value and would last approx 3 days. the doughnuts were in lots of flavours and looked very pleasing on the eye!!! just a shame they were not fat free / calorie free!! the coffee was nice too and there were a few pieces of krispy kreme merchandise to buy like cups / gift vouchers / tins etc. there were balloons there and a krispy kreme hat to wear for the kids. i would imagine it will get very busy at weekends. toilets were very clean. the staff were friendly.
