Kowloon House in Flintshire

This is the first time I've ordered and it will be the last. Tasteless food and extremely greasy, most of it is in the bin.

Over 2 1/2 hours for delivery! Since moving to Wrexham, Kowloon is the only place I’ve ever come to for Chinese food, but after tonight I’d rather go without , they need to end their contract with food hub asap, felt sorry for the girl on the end of the phone and the delivery driver. If you can’t deliver then just stop saying you can. Never again will I spend over £50 on food that is not even worth £30

Sorry guys, had the munchie box, bit of everything it said, and sorry to say it was, all very overcooked, even the chips, very poor indeed. Cant say we will be doing it again any time soon. What a letdown.

Fantastic food by new owners who are lovely. Shop has been freshened up too and is much lighter. Third visit in as many weeks(well, nearly visits as one was delivered so didn’t even leave the house!) Salt and pepper chicken and crispy beef absolutely delish!!! Family friend this eve said how good her vegetable chow mein was too.. Thank you!

Huge improvement after what was a rocky start if I'm honest. Im glad as they come across as a nice family, especially the lady on the counter. Well done

We’ve recently moved back to the area in February & found what I consider to be the best Chinese I’ve ever had!!This place is amazing, great food, service, 5** - this place makes Singapore style noodles, fried rice how it should be ... spicy!! Even in lockdown - this place excelled, yes there was a wait time but where wasn’t there?? Perfect in my opinion, even when we had a socially distanced takeaway in the garden - the delivery was when they said it would be, ALL meals were CORRECT, fresh & hot!! Thanks to all the team

Had a meal last Friday delivery took 45 minutes which was ok,first bag of chips burnt went in bin a couple of sausages on the house, then the main Chinese meal chicken curry mushrooms fried rice went straight in the bin that much salt on it they want to learn to season food total disgusting

Ordered food at 5.40 pm this evening told me it would be 45mins but more than likely be there in 30mins.Phoned back at 6.50 to be told it was out for delivery. No food by 7.25pm rang back and they didn’t have clue where food was or what had happened to order will never use again

Beautifully cooked fresh fish&chips,lovely friendly owner who puts quality first. Well worth a trip.I always call here for a Chinese meal always fresh and tasty.

Nearly two hour wait . That’s enough for me never to order from them ever again . China star can’t open quick enough.

had Fish and Chips for my self children and Chow Mein. best we've had recently. Lady behind the desk was lovely and polite.

Have used this establishment many times before and thoroughly enjoyed our food, because of this we decided to use Kowloon House for our New Year’s Eve meal. Noticed that they were open fairly early so ordered our food at 5.45pm and had a confirmation almost immediately, with delivery estimated at an hour and a half later. We then received an email at 7.15 saying they had a problem so the food would be a maximum of 40 minutes. 8.15 we received an email saying that our order was complete. We rang them asking for an update on our food at 8.45 and they said that it was about to be cooked, at which the staff then burst out laughing. We asked for a refund, which they then provided. Because we had planned our food we hadn’t got anything else in to eat.

Disgusting service from this restaurant failed to deliver my order claiming they could not find my house even though they have delivered numerous times . When asked for my refund they failed to address it claiming it would be the last time they took an order from me .... don’t worry it’s the last time I will order here

We always order from here and we rarely have any issues,however on this occasion it was so bad I've had to leave a review.merely as I feel the restaurant need to be made aware.the food was fantastic and I have no issues at all with the restaurant. My problem is with the transporting of the food.the sweet and sour had opened slightly in the bag and it had soaked everything through to the point that all the paper was literally falling apart.i think.something else may have leaked also as it was on everything.fortunately it did not ruin my meal it was just messy laying it out and we did throw our free bag of chips away as the paper was just soaked right through.was unacceptable really but as the food was ok I didnt want to send it all back.

Absolutely nothing positive to say. Food is crap & badly done. Can’t EVER get an order correct - this is not an exaggeration! You will wait 2+ hours for food when busy, then get the wrong food. Will try to overcharge you. Will not offer refund despite their massive f-ups! Avoid as all costs. When you eventually eat the food your body will not thank you for it. Greasy & horrible is the best way to describe it. Like I say, no positives here. Think the only reason they survive is there’s nothing else nearby!

Food is disgusting - really horrible. Greasy, chicken undercooked and mostly cold. Felt ill the next day, would NOT recommend...

We called in as it was National fish and chip day, we wish we hadn’t bothered, the two fish were greasy and grey and the two very small portions of revolting chips were rubbery, they tasted like they had been reheated and had lots of black bits in them where the potatoes had gone bad and they couldn’t be bothered to cut the bad bits out.

Excellent service. Food as good as any Chinese restaurant. Service fast and telephone orders efficient. Food range very wide and menu well marked showing all additives Menu not rigid as they will modify meal to suite your requirements.

Lady on the counter is nice but the food is horrendous. I have returned food on multiple occasions but won't give them my business anymore. Not a patch on previous owners.

I ordered from here last week as I thought it may of got better after it was took over.

This little takeaway is deceptive, it looks a little run down but it isnt and the food is fresh and tasty, lovely staff and great service, pepper chips are tasty, really good.

My friend juat dropped me off sweet and sour chicken. 1 word it was excellent. No complaints what so ever I would highly recommend you trying this Chinese. Was really excellent.

Today at 5pm we bought food from this place best food ever realy polite peoples we definetly return buy more foods and will highly recommend to neighbours friends 5 star from us

The food was absolutely terrible chicken not cooked still pink and chips soggy & fatty! Meal was inedible. It used to be so lovely before it changed hands to new proprietor. So disappointed used to love meals there but won’t be going again put me off indefinitely.

I pass this takeaway fairly often so thought it was time to try it and so glad I did. The chicken Chow mein is the best I've had for years. It could do with a little more chicken but tastes great. Pancake rolls a little greasy but beautifully crisp. Spare ribs great portion and tasty capital sauce. small chips enough for 2 people. Crispy duck not shredded but again tasty and good portion with decent amount of pancakes. Service was swift and friendly. I will be visiting for a weekly treat.

Me and my gf went there hour ago never again saggy fish cold and greasy chips not polite services we will never go there again totatly disappointed such a waste money and our saturday treatment this place os gone down hill

Just asked for my money back. The woman on the phone was very rude and disaspectful. We was given our order which was delivered wrong (no fault of driver as address was written wrong and orders seemed like not to be sorted properly).

Went today for the first time...it was suppose to be open at 4.30.... and now it was 4.40pm...

Since finding Kowloon house we’ve had food a few times and every time it’s been lovely food. I now phone through my order on my way from work and it’s ready, hot delicious Chinese food. The young girl that serves and answers the phone for orders is very polite and helpful. I can’t fault this eating place please try.

Staff are polite but what sort of chippy doesn't give mushy peas with chips ? Only realised once home. Gone down hill

Went on a Saturday lunch time. Had the lemon chicken, tasted very sweet, also tasted of sweeteners. Would not order it again. I didn't realize that in this takeaway one orders the rice separately. The portion of lemon chicken was very large.

We live locally and have done so for 18 years - within walking distance, of Kowloon House. Over the years, we have used the facility- in the early days as Churchills and latterly the Kowloon House - with excellent service and food quality, with no complaints. Last evening 12th May 2018, we invited friends around for a "fish and chip" evening meal. At around 5.15pm, we walked to Kowloon House - our first visit since it changed hands. We ordered 4 pensioner portions of fish and chips and mushy peas.

This used to be awesome but we tried it since it’s been taken over and it was awful. Not returning until they improve! The chicken is all slippery and rubbery and was making me gag because it seemed raw. The cashew sauce was completely tasteless. My mum had crispy chilli beef and was unwell for several days after! The Singapore noodles were okay but not good enough to make us want to return. What a shame!

Sorry but since it’s been took over the food is awful, sweet and sour chicken ball was just to much wet uncooked batter. Fish isn’t as good. The meat isn’t as good quality as the last owners. We all had bad stomachache the day after, sadly we won’t be returning, shame as it was really nice.

This used to be the nicest chippy in the area until recently. We usually call for tea once a week. Past couple of weeks the fish and chips haven’t been as good as usual but thought we’d give it another go last night as maybe we were just unlucky last time. Sorry we did. Our order was missing a sausage and chips despite paying for it, the chips were half cooked and barely warm, fish dry and swimming with grease, the rice with the chinese meal was virtually cold. What a waste of money. Never again.

This chippy is now under new managment now. Just had a really good fish supper with the family, fresh fish very tasty and crucially neither the chips or batter too greasy! Staff were also very friendly. I would defiantly recommend it.

Always have great food from here. We tend to phone orders through as it's always busy. Nice to have a decent chippy backed up by some lovely Chinese food. Portions always bigger than expected and the kids love it.

Popular take away with excellent food. Good variety on offer, Fish is cooked fresh and the chips are superb.

Based on other trip advisor reviews I took a punt and gave this a try. In the past I had driven by without paying much attention. The asian menu is probably a bit limited however the dishes we ordered ( for 7) were all very good. The staff were very bust and proficient. Judging by the number of customers that I saw this venue is a firm favourite with locals for their Saturday night take away. Recommended.

Fab service, extremely efficient take away staff and amazing food quality for a small Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop !!

Freshly cooked fish & chips just as they should be.. Cooked to order absolutely superb and conveniently located .Staff are very friendly and premises are exceptionally clean along with the quality of its fish and child and oap friendly menus too. Service is quick depending on time of day would recommend phoning large orders in prior to visit especially chinese menu.

Ate here once before and the food was of a good standard. Returned a few weeks ago and the meal was poor.

Told about this little gem a few months ago and have tried it 3 times just to make sure it was good

staff are lovely too , wont go anywhere else for fish and chips, lovely and freshly cooked as you order , recently tried the chinese menu too and the same can be said for that ! great place , great food, great people

Always tasty food Chinese is our FAVE ! But also fish and chips (COD) freshly prepared excallant have recantly moved house and still travel back 6 miles its that good !

Always use the Kowloon Never fails to impress whether Chinese or fish and chips. Great quality produce, well cooked

This is a very good fish and chip shop very clean and very helpful. The owners are hands on and it shows.I have not had anything other than fish and chips but you only have to look at the number of people that visit this little gem to know that all is well.

We have used Kowloon House since it opened. As you enter you are asked if you want fish as they cook it to order so it is always freshly prepared. The chips are very good. I asked for a small portion which fed one large male appetite and two small lady appetites! The large portion of chips must be huge! We had Chicken Hong Kong style, Chicken with bean sprouts and I asked for extra ginger and prawn with noodles, fried rice. The total was £17.80 including the carrier bag and a bag of prawn crackers!! I have been told to try the large chop duet roll which my friend said are very tasty with lots of bean sprouts and ham. I also like So capote noodles which isn't on the menu but they will happily cook to my required chilli taste.

In my opinion, the lightly battered haddock, with the incredibly dry (not greasy) chips are incredible - and second to none locally. Cooked to order, I have no issues with waiting for the freshness of the piping hot food. I've more recently become a real fan of the takeaway Chinese Takeaway menus - especially of the butterflied prawns and any of the chicken and beef dishes. A smashing eating experience - in the car, or take 'em home!

I go to this chippy all the time and it is by far the nicest chippy in 20 miles around. The young lads that work at the front are always polite and friendly and their fish and chips are incredible. The Chinese food is just as good and is always prompt. I 100% recommend this place to anyone.

This place is amazing and when i found that it was not listed on trip advisor i was so confused as this place provides an excellent service! This place seriously needs to be put on the map as i've never tasted such excellent quality food from a chinese takeaway before, and its family run so the atmosphere is so nice, and the staff are friendly!
