Kouchin in Spelthorne

Arrived cold and tasted absolutely disgusting!! Usually my go to place but it’s gone down hill so bad

Half the order was missing and the chicken tikka masala tasted like korma just, red in colour. The ‘tikka masala’ definitely had coconut in it and the lamb pieces in a chicken dish was disconcerting. Normally happy with this takeaway but not this time.

Delivery was so late than expected …. One order missing and had to do second delivery … food quality poor !

Terrible, recipes have been changed for the worse! Real shame!

I have ordered from Kouchin for 4+ years and never had any issues. The making of the butter chicken has now clearly changed and it was very poor on this occasion. I could see straight away sauce was the wrong colour (bright red) and was extremely thin and oily. It was also not particularly flavoursome in comparison to previous sauce. I am nsure if the restaurant is trying something new, or has a new chef, but unfortunately will not be ordering again in this state. May try again in a few months.

AVOID! Been ordering curry takeaway from kouchin for 10 years and always loved it. Unfortunately new ownership has ment the curries all taste different/ terrible. 1st order since new ownership and the curries tasted that bad we thought they’d sent the wrong curry. Very sad!

Kouchin has now been taken over My starter sheek kebab was like a dry piece of rubber it was obviously reheated to order and the excellent kouchin mint sauce has been replaced with a curdled milk flavourless taste. The salad was brown on the edges So won’t be returning .

Really disappointed. Have been using Kouchin for many years and is always consistently very good but it seems they have been taken over and the food really is disappointing. Bland, tasteless, not appealing. So gutted. Will have to look for a new Indain now.

They have lost their chief or changed ownership, but their food and service isn’t as good or the same .Won’t be using again I’m afraid. It’s been taken over by Tammanas I have learned terrible food avoid.

Really tasty chicken, very crispy onion bhajis, great aloo, all round a very pleasant experience... would order again. Very pleased!

Food arrived cold. It’s happened the last two times. Usually everything is good and the food is great, just a few times it’s taken 90 minutes to arrive and arrived cold which is disappointing.

Superb chicken jafreza today and on time for a change and I really enjoyed the cumin potato’s 👍

Late yet again! The delivery of the food is letting this restaurant down! Getting worse and worse? Lovely food let down! If this continues I will be looking elsewhere 👎

Great food and generous portions, even gave two mint sauce pots. Delivered early and arrived warm. Much better than others we have tried in the area.

Food was tasteless and massively disappointing. Literally no flavour at all to the Balti and was like eating mush! Naan under cooked and all soft and doughy. Wouldn't eat here again if it was free.

Food was late and cold. Chiken tasted bad and it was hard as it was cold :( will not order again..

The owner of this place does not know how to treat customers, he is very rude and has no manners, stop behaving like this and learn to show some respect to others, you can judge the owner the way he responds to 1 star reviews, instead of taking criticism and admitting his mistake he is being rude to customers, he's the type of guy that would have rats in his place and if you mention it he will cry about it.

Have recently been ordering from this restaurant via takeaway online and each time I have been happy with the delivery times and the food was excellent.

I have been here twice so far, and each time the food and service has been excellent. This is my favourite restaurant, rivalled only by the nearby Italian restaurant.

Absolute joke of a company ordered at 5.45 should been 40mins for food preparation and delivers waited till 7 still nothing phoned at 7.30 and the staff are so rude have no interest in listening to you and just say it be 10mins away and then just cut you off. I will never be ordering from there again and the food wasnt great either arrived cold

Over 2 hour wait for a cold, bland, meal , excuse being drivers couldn't park, a road closure, being really busy , . Well if you can't deliver , don't take the orders! Won't be using again !!!

And that is the truth. We have had local Indian restaurant and takeaway food and this has to be the best. We had butter chicken, lamb biryani, naans, rice, bombay aloo and lentils.. it all looked different and tasted delicious, freshly made with spices to match.

Half an hour late. When it did arrive the driver had delivered our order to someone up the road. He ran off and swapped it back. Consequently our food had been opened by someone we don’t know. When the correct food eventually arrived it was cold. I threw it away. I called the restaurant and quite frankly I was fobbed off and the attitude I received was terrible. I will not be ordering from there again. Appalling!

Waited just over two hours for delivery. Food was nice but not very warm. I won't be using again.

Ordered a take away from this restaurant and it will certainly bethe last time. I ordered a lamb curry, rice etc. and when I got it home, I found it to be very watery, not what I expected. And the flavour was almost non-existent for a curry. I was not happy and called the restaurant. The person told me that I should have asked for a thicker curry and he would have recommended one, now what an insult that was as I told him that I have ordered many curries in my lifetime to know what I was ordering! He then said that he would give me a discount next time I ordered, I asked what that would be and he said 10% off. What an absolute joke for a disgusting curry that has no flavour whatso ever. So would I be returning...Hell 'No' !! There are many other take aways in the area.

The curry literally had no flavour. Not nice at all which is a shame as they are usually pretty good.

Easily the best curry I've ever had. Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, reasonable priced and food was amazing. I had the Kouchin special. Wine a bit on the expensive side but won't let that undermine a fabulous meal.

Very poor food and service.Coke was flat poured out a bottle. Lamb dish poor, seemed the meat had been cooked a while back and then mixed with some curry sauce. Biryani was sub standard, not sure the restaurant know the the difference between a pilau and a biryani. Environment smoky and cold, food went cold in seconds. The table had a wobbly leg. Poppadum’s were stale. Had chosen the place by looking at some review. Will not be going back.

I will not be ordering from here again. The chicken tiles massala was horrible and the prawns in the puree were very under cooked.

16th September - Looked-up Tripadvisor for a good Indian restaurant in Ashford and true to the reviews, it was good. Pleasant staff, keen to help and no rush for your order. Also there to help you choose and adapt to individual tastes - great personal touch. Nice and light, not too bright, just just right. Comfortable chairs and set-up. As for the food, very good, exceptionally tasty and when I say that, I mean your could taste the spices and not just over-bearing heat from chillis. Supportive staff during the meal and right to the end. My friend had their special Kouchin dish with whisky - very impressive and not just because of the whisky. I live Guildford are but would definitely make the effort to come again.

Delivered promptly within the time range stated. It would have been nice to have received some complimentary poppadoms and onion salad as other Indian Take Away places do.

Scheduled a delivery giving plenty of time but it was still late.

We ordered a plain Nan but got a Peshawar in error which was a shame as it was not to our taste. However the rest of the meal was excellent.

Nann bread was dry, flat and chewy and the food wasn't so tasty. It was also delivered late and we were not kept up to date of its whereabouts

Been my go to throughout the pandemic, very reliable. Food always flavoursome. And by far the most reasonable prices in the area👌 Update: Recently went in for a sit down meal with my family. And it was even better😋. Everything fresh and delicious. I recommend the tandoori mix grill, kalimirch methiwala murgh, South Indian garlic chilli chicken🙌🙌

Tasteless and bland! Unfortunately as soon as I opened the container and sauce the colour and texture of the sauce I knew it would be bad! Watery and unflavoured! Complete disappointment!

the food was spilled in the bag, I will never order from there again, I told the driver about the spilled food, he replied that's how they gave it to him and walked away

Like it states, it was OK. The potatoes in the saag aloo weren't cooked and still quite hard and the curry wasnt HOT like I asked for but it tasted ok.

Food here is always good, and staff always pleasent. Can be a pain at times finding somewhere outside to park. Would highly recommend .

Missing rice, mint yourgat, pale and watery, poppadoms tasted of old oil, curry tasteless. Chicken tikka meat in curry was dry and tough.

Never normally have a problem with this restaurant. Ordered my delivery for 21:15 but it arrived at 20:15 so I wasn’t home, When I got home my food was cold so I was really disappointed.

Best curry around . I order most weekends and it’s always amazing . But tonight I forgot to ask for extra mint yogurt but the delivery driver told me I’ve remembered your extra mint yogurt 👌 what can I say …. Brilliant 👌👌 recommended
