a bit over priced service okay but hihly rated.. wouldnt be going back in a flash other resturants better

We expected that this is a lovely restaurant,but left all of us very disappointed. 1st you have to ask the waiter to pay you any attention at all afyer he has served!(only the man who welcomed us was attentive to us(may be was the owner),but he wasn't serving us). Had to ask a number of times for bread when it finished!-they were seeing we didn't have bread,but no one brought us.Prices are a bit up,but service was poor,and food wasn't as much as other turkish restaurants.The bread was tasty though. No sauses.... At the end we were given turkish tea,but no baklava as compliment to end the visit... No choice of drinks,definitely do not recommend

not as good as expected. food was ok. staff is what really makes this place ok. decoration looks really nice at first but inspected properly it actually has not been done correctly. would not be rushing back.

I visited this restaurant with partner and two kids. Being Turkish the turkish named meals on the menu did not taste anyting like the genuine recepies. The bread was cold and stale. The salad tasted like it had been made five hours earlier. Kids asked for ketchup and mayonnaise it came in genuine heinz bottles but it was not the real heinz but replaced with the much cheaper versions which to me was the ultimate disrespect of the management to its customers when put to staff it was accepted. Overall even worse than Aksu on Hertford Road which I did nor think it could exit.

A group of us visited this restaurant as a friend recommended it and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food was excellent, and great value for money. Our waitress Helen was wonderful and friendly, and nothing was too much for her. Only downside was they had no Rose wine but we had white instead. Great evening, thank you

This review relates to the Edmonton Branch. Somewhere between average and very good, the balance tipped by the pleasant atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. A converted pub with a spacious open plan interior. Large picture Windows, making it bright and welcoming. We went as a group and were seated either side of a table on comfortable seats in our own cubicle by the window. Overall the food was good. The starter however ( whitebait) was sadly dry and tasteless. The main meals mainly lamb and chicken shish were excellent, tasty with good quality meat. The portions were large. The restaurant also provides its own starters of olives, peppers and onions together with a lovely selection of breads ( refilled on request) so you can do without ordering your own starter. Sweets were.the usual Turkish mix and tasty. Free sweets and Turkish Tea were also provided. You have to be careful when ordering to ensure your understood ( In fairness their English is better than my Turkish) There was the odd delay in the arrival of some dishes but the staff were busy and doing their best. The waiters were friendly, helpful and attentive. Would visit again.

Do we need another Turkish Restaurant? I have visited all the Turkish Restaurants in this area of London (N9) I have, in most cases been happy with the food and service. The Kosk is a new restaurant of this type and I must say no better or no worse than any of the others. The menu is the same as others, the staff attentive and to an extent overbearing. They seem to want to join in on the guests celebration rather than a unobtrusive efficient service. The food was well cooked on open flames. The fish was beyond recognition, having lost its flavour and texture in cooking. I am finding it very difficult to describe origional, outstanding or unusual dishes. Unfortunately another Turkish establishment in an area already saturated with similar..

İ ordered a mixed dish as we were four people. İt was £32.50 so i thought it might be good thats why however, food arrived late, we had to repeat our order a couple times which shows there was a lack of communication between the waitress and the cheifs. Wgen the food arrived it was nothing special. So overall experience i would say just below average.

Arranged to have a meal with friends at the newly opened restaurant Kosk in Edmonton. What a let down!! The service was awful, slow and you had to repeat your order several times until they got it right. The food took over an hour to arrive and by then the kids were all full from the bread! The food arrived, was ok. But nothing that would impress me to try again. We were then offered a free tea and dessert which was again a let down as we found a thin bit of string that has come from a cleaning sponge. The manager had nothing to say and offered another dessert but by then we just wanted to leave. A real let down and will not be visiting any time soon, as this is the second same bad experience we had at this restaurant.

Great Turkish food at excellent prices. I should know since I am from Turkey. The service is always friendly and efficient. You also get given quite a lot of food included in the basic price, which would cost you anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our lunch here, authentic Adana Kofte and good Chicken Doner. And their salads were beautifully fresh and the service was efficient and very fast. And the bill was suitably reasonable. What's not to like?

My daughter and I were going to Elstree studios for a Strictly Come Dancing show. Having had our tickets validated in the morning we were told to go away and have a good lunch ready for the evening show as no food could be consumed then. Most people went to the nearby fast food outlets, but we wanted something fresher and authentic. We carried on walking up the Main Street and are so glad we did. What a superb restaurant! The welcome was helpful and friendly; the atmosphere relaxed. Then the food came: gorgeous warm bread and olives, then dips and finally our starters which were perfect- creamy humus and beautiful stuffed vine leaves. Main courses also did not disappoint with a particularly well cooked and flavoursome moussaka. Then a little dish of something sweet to finish. Finally, of course the bill! This was the best news of all as we had the special lunch menu of starter and a main for £7.95. We expected it to be more because of all the little extras we had had, but this was the price. Fantastic value! Finally, the facilities are sparklingly clean. If you are going to Elstree studios, or indeed Borehamwood, I cannot recommend this pace highly enough. Spot on!

The fact this restaurant is constantly busy should give you the hint. The food is excellent. Their set meze is huge (we tend to order for 2 ans share between 3 and even then we struggle).

A colleague and I dropped in here one evening,me hadn't made a booking. Unsure what to order, we threw ourselves at the mercy of the waiter, only asking for vegetarian. The spread we received was superb, but I really can't remember the names of the dishes. Basically veggie kebabs, loads of breads and hummus, dips, olives etc. all totally lovely. Really reasonably priced too. Sorry I can't be more precise re the menu on this review, I wish I'd made a note of what we ate!

Very good food, great value for money. Very popular with the locals. Three of us arrived after 9pm on a Saturday. The place was packed. We were warmly greeted by the staff, who could have squeezed us in at the only empty table at the door. However, one table further in the restaurant was coming free, and the waiters quickly got it ready for us. The food was excellent, lots of choice. The complimentary plate of fruit at the end of the meal was a nice touch. We were impressed by the service, and very pleased with the food, and so it seems are many other people, because the place is busy every time we’ve walked passed.

I ordered what I expected would be a normal chicken shish kebab (Tavuk Sis) but what I got was another level. Served on a bed of delicately seasoned rice, grilled chilli and tomato and with a flat bread that would put Naan Breads to shame, my meat was succulent and flavoursome. The accompanying sauces were superb too. If I'm ever back down here I'll be back.

It was the first time my husband and I dined at this restaurant. We live outside of London and was staying in a Hotel nearby. We were very pleased with the service we received. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food delicious and plenty of it! Yummy!! We will definitely go there again before returning home.

On a recent business trip to Borehamwood my colleague and I were invited by a friendto the Kosk Restaurant in Borehamwood for lunch. The restaurant is spacious,we'll laid out and absolutely spotless. The owner came over, greeted us and seated us at a window table and brought over a bottle of sparkling water we had ordered together with delicious olives and then explained the menu which was varied and at very reasonable prices. Our host was a regular at this restaurant and suggestedsalad with grilled chicken, rice and peppers and warm Turkish bread.All of the meat is kept in a refrigerated glass walled shelf and is prepared and cooked to order by the Chefs who are in full view. What a great meal, a bowl of fresh crisp salad more than enough for three of us and beautiful light bread, with our chicken, served with home made sauces.Throughout our meal a number of other small groups and couples were continually entering proving just how popular the restaurant is.I will be definitely be returning to this restaurant if I'm in the area and I recommend a visit

We had a booking and a confirmation they were very rude and did not honour the booking.Don't go there!

Booked a table online, only to arrive and be told that they had no record of the booking and couldn't seat us. No apology was forthcoming. Would not go back and wouldn't recommend.

My wife and I were staying with family in London and I really wanted to go back to Zevi's but my sister in law said that there is a new Turkish restaurant up the road that is supposed to be better. I said yeah why not, we had no booking and turned up at 8pm on a Saturday evening. The waiter took us straight to a table and gave us the menus, he came back after no more than a minute and asked us if we were ready to order, we said no we need a few more minutes, then literally 30 seconds later another waiter asked if we were ready to order, again we said no.The Bad...The waiters were very very rude and miserable. The restaurant looks like they have just stuck as many tables and chairs in one big open room and crammed them all together, it feels like you are sat with random strangers you are that close to other people. They did forget 2 portions of chips as well and we had to ask for thoseThe Good...The food was excellent, I got the mixed platter and there was just meat on top of meat and then some, I was full afterwards. I will probably go back to Zevi's next time as its more cosy and feels like a restaurant and not one big open space.

The chef who runs this place used be part of Zevi's in Borehamwood (since he left Zevi's they have gone downhill). I used to go to Zevi's quite often and he knows me when I come in.The food is of good quality , however, the set menu size portions i huge especially for 2 people. Make when you have the starter don't fill up with bread as you will not be able to finish the main ( we took the rest back in doggy bag). The waiters are quite eager and didn't let us rest between courses, we felt rushed with our meal.

I booked a table for 4 at Kosk, Borehamwood, for dinner at 1930 hrs on 20-4-2013, via their online booking system. I got a confirmation email, with a booking number. But when I turned up there with my family, I was told that they were full, and that they could not honor my booking. Even after I showed the confirmation email on my smartphone, the floor manager (or perhaps his lackey), refused to accept the booking, and told me they could get me a table after 2100 hrs! He blamed the online booking system, saying that it was having booking problems - a poor excuse!More than the apparent glitch in their system, what was particularly reprehensible was the indifference of the said lackey, who made it sound like it was our fault. They were least apologetic for the apparent booking glitch, and for their behavior.Needless to say, I am never going there, and would tell all I know about their behavior.I would give a rating of -1, but that option is not available.TERRIBLE!

This was my first and last time I am coming here because there is no taste and they not friendly at all they need to change the way they serve to customer

I visited this restaurant with my business partner and Deputy Editor of the Tried and Trusted in late December and will be going back there for our anniversary in April. Food 100% service 100% decor 100% Borehamwood deserves a restaurant like this and sorry it was not here before.

We have been there a number of times now, both as a family and with other couples for a 'grown ups' night out, and have really been impressed every time. The service is very attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble to change. My son is allergic to nuts, so they changed a couple of the mezze dishes to ensure they only had ones which were nut free on the platter. Highly recommended, big portions and a reasonable price!

For the second time in a fortnight I went to KOSK with my family. Great food, lively atmosphere. Generous portions and all food is nicely served. It was my daughter's birthday and when I mentioned it to the waiters, we were suddenly presented with a beautiful platter of mixed fruit. It is necessary to book - even during the week - as it gets very busy.

Could not fault this new Turkish restaurant in Borehamwood.We had a wonderful meal early on a Saturday evening,delicious food,generous portions,very attentive staff.Would highly recommend.Prices were reasonable as well.

I recently went to the restaurant with a friend for the set 2 course lunch. All I can say it was one of the best Turkish meals I have had and plenty of it too. Nicely served with bread and olives included as we sat down and after the meal some delightful little Turkish pastries "on the house" I will definitely return and have a meal in the evening. Well done the staff and management of this fine restaurant

I recently went with a friend to this new restaurant at lunch-time to check it out. We are both vegetarian and were pleased with the selection. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the helpings very generous. The little touches were what made me favour it over other restaurants in the area offering similar fare; such as the herbiness of the feta dishes and lightness of the pastries. It was very clean and friendly as well as good value for money.My only criticism is they had no idea how to make a cup of tea, which came as a dry tea bag lying in the saucer accompanying a hot (not boiling) cup of water!I am definitely going again and would recommend to my friends.

I recently had dinner with my wife at KOSK restaurant . It is a great place to go, very clean, nice, the service is great, food is delicious and there was really nothing negative related to this experience.Would definitely recommend it to anyone who would want to elope in a relaxing cozy place.

Went with friends and family to this new restaurant in Borehamwood and was looking so forward to it as we love turkish okabasi. Unfortunately nothing went right from the very start. We ordered out starters and half were wrong, the mains came and three mains were sent back incorrectly ordered and we kept getting freebie meze to make up for it. Eventually we did not re-order mains but one of the kids ordered a lamb kebab and this came with a long strand of hair attached to it..YUCK...that was the end for me....we were obviously very disappointed and the waiter kept apologising but with so many other restaurants about one does not need to give second chances. With it being a new restaurant staff should have been trained properly. I also have to say that we paid the bill that was handed to us DOES ONE GIVE A SECOND CHANCE??? UP TO YOU!!! Not for me...
