I tried delicious plain koshary

I am very happy that there are many vegan options. Portions are generous, gently flavoured, with a delicate hint of herbs/spices.

I just love this place and been using for many years. Classic does not contain meat! Sometimes I dine in as has a nice atmosphere, very close to national and portrait gallery, good value and does meal deals. Egyptian street food it is fantastic!

I had never had Egyptian food before coming here and now it is a regular lunch spot for me and my colleagues. Great lunch deals as well.

I stopped here on a recent visit to London for a quick lunch. The atmosphere is simple, clean, friendly, upbeat. The food is extremely good. I didn't know exactly what to expect for healthy Egyptian street cuisine, but this was just so delicious and fresh. Highly recommended.

Expensive and alright but wanted something more tasty for 12.50! I had a large Levanteen vegan bowl. It was filling and was mostly rice, pasta, pulses, chickpeas. With a some sauce, small sprinkling of crispy onion & some small pinch of seeds and penuts. Apart from the nuts these are all low cost food items and I didn't sit down to eat. So hard to see why the price was the same as a pizza and beer sitting down in a restaurant down the road.

Gorgeous, healthy, filling food. Always friendly staff too. Perfect for a passing bite to eat or to sit in and take your time. Would highly recommend.

I recently ordered the lamb house bowls from them and it was amazing, make sure you also add the hummus!

On 6th March 2024 I went there at around 8.15pm. After entering the shop the lady behind the bar straightaway said that during that time they had only chicken shawarma and classic koshari available at the shop. I gently asked her re the taste of these two items as I usually have the Fit Chicken from their menu so I was unaware about the taste of those two. Then she answered that - by looking at you it doesn’t seem like you are not here to buy anything so I don’t feel the necessity to explain the taste to you but if you want you can look at the menu and try to understand it yourself. Then I thanked her and walked away from the shop.

Absolutely delicious authentic bringing this Egyptian staple dish to the capital! The koshari is very tasty, their regular sauce is perfect for my 2 year old who loved Koshari on her trip to Egypt, the spicy alternative is absolutely spot on for my taste buds!

I have always dreamed of eating Koshari on the streets of Egypt. This place in London’s Covent Gardens is a little gem and everything tastes delicious. I had the Fit Chicken twice this week! It’s absolutely amazing and the flavour and heat notes are just right. Lovely place and staff. Very much recommend.

First time trying Egyptian food and I’m in love with it. Full of flavours, I really enjoyed it. Definitely will come again and recommend it to my friends.

Hey am regular customer since they open but today wasn’t that great tasteless no salt just do not taste the same had to go back and ask for Salt.

We had the original Koshari there tonight, and it was delicious - exactly like I remembered it from Egypt! And the prices are good. We'll come again!

Delicious Egyptian Koshari, very healthy option. I tried the Plant Power bowl option and it was delicious. A little spicy but not overpowering. Batata harra (spiced fried potatoes) is a great touch. The bottled mango juice is great too (not fresh but still good nonetheless). My wife had the original Koshari bowl which is also really nice. We will definitely come again, there are no other places like this around Leicester Square / Covent Garden area. 100% recommended!!

Lovely place where you can quickly pick up a staple of Egyptian streetfood- Koshari. I like the classic but tried the Levantine bowl today and it was equally delicious. Love the tomato sauce and crispy onion topping. Makes for a very filling, satisfying lunch.

Fantastic Halal food, I love all the textures especially. I recommend the Lamb & Beef bowl with spicy tomato sauce. Service is always friendly and fast.

I used to live in Egypt and ate koshary almost daily, but left in 2010 and haven't been able to find koshary anywhere since I came back to the UK. I happened across this place by chance in a weekend visit to London, and I was so excited! The classic koshary is just as I remembered, delicious. I'll be sure to visit here on future visits to London :)

I chose to visit this place based on its high ratings and my love for exploring diverse cuisines. Opting for the Koshari, I found the chicken Koshari to be delectable. However, my overall rating is 3 out of 5 due to a few factors: - The ambiance lacks a special vibe, and seating options are limited, primarily geared toward takeout. - The pricing seems steep, especially for a modest bowl; I suggest a more reasonable range like £6 to £7 for chicken Koshari, as opposed to £11-12. - Unfortunately, my experience was dampened by the staff's rudeness, leaving me dissatisfied with the service.

Very pocket-friendly, with unique flavors and filling food. I had never had koshari before, but I'll definitely have some again. Very quick service, although there's barely any seating space. This is better for takeaways than dine-in. If you're looking for a quick, healthy vegan meal that is budget friendly, go here.

Koshari street is my favourite lunch spot and it never fails to deliver on taste - in fact it’s so good the whole office is now hooked! Love the meal deals with a drink and salad and can’t recommend the Chermoula chicken bowl enough which is full of flavour and texture plus good for you too!

I'm always on the hunt for good, healthy lunch options near Piccadilly and Koshari fit the bill! I ordered the California bowl which came with chickpeas, sweet potatoes, quinoa, tomato sauce, and fried onions. It also came with jalapenos (?) which were unbelievably spicy so I picked all of them out. The food gets a 4/5 because it was lacking salt and the quinoa was a bit overcooked. But overall Koshari is reasonably priced and I'll definitely return.

Needed nourishment in a short window ahead of the theatre and found Kishari St. Friendly, fast, spicy, tasty, healthy and plenty of vegetarian choice of bowls and wraps. Delicious. Highly recommended.

Popped in here for quick food before the theatre. Had the classic bowl which was delicious and ready in seconds. Made a change from the chain options nearby.

The koshari here reminded us so much of the koshari we had in Cairo! Here’s a tip: spend the £2.50 to “go large.” It’s almost twice as much food as the regular size and a great value. Service was super fast and friendly. There’s only seating for 12 total, but a lot of people get it as takeaway only. Highly recommend!!

Popped in here for lunch before the theatre. Really tasty wrap that was loaded with flavour. The meal deal was a bargain. Staff friendly and food prepared quickly. Will be returning as it makes a fab change from all its neighbours.

The food was surprising in its deliciousness. It looked simple, but the complex addition of sprinkled toppings, and the rich flavours of the sauces, made for the most hearty and tasty of meals. Lovely friendly service as well. Highly recommended and very reasonable.

Don’t mess the chance to try this Egyptians authentic dish! Today I went to the opening of koshari street after full renovation. The new menu has many food fusión and classics. In the menu has variation of vegetarian toppings and also meat and chicken, variations After trying many Koshari in London, i have to say this time at Koshari Kitchen was one of the best times I had a real authentic taste of Koshari. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely must Try!

Healthy fast food, nice but cramped, not somewhere to dine out, but good for picking up a quick meal.

The koshari was okay. However, I tried the falafel and it's utterly disgusting! As an Egyptian, I'm appalled by this. It's old, greasy, cold and tastes incredibly horrible! I'd be surprised if I don't get sick soon. Seriously, why would you sell something this horrid especially if you are Egyptian and know how the real thing tastes like.

Koshary was okay but the falafel they serve was by far the worst I have ever eaten anywhere in the world.

Estaba tan decepcionado porque tenía muchas ganas de comer aquí. He pasado mucho tiempo en tiendas koshari en Egipto y me encanta todo sobre ellas, y a menudo me he preguntado por qué no se han exportado como kebabs y pizzas. Así que mientras visitaba el Reino Unido desde Francia, estaba emocionado de probar este lugar. El primer problema fue que no había cebollas fritas. Se habían agotado y ofrecían una porción muy pequeña de garbanzos como compensación. El segundo problema fue que pedí porciones de gran tamaño, luego me ofrecieron la opción de fruta de jack y me dijeron que eso haría que el precio fuera 7. 50 libras, que como solo eran 50 p más, acepté. Pero luego me dieron porciones de tamaño mediano, por lo que la fruta del gato realmente me había costado 2. 50 No estoy seguro si esto fue un problema de idioma pero fue frustrante. Pero el problema real que arruinó totalmente la comida para mí fue que la única opción eran los cubiertos de plástico. Me sorprendió que en estos tiempos un restaurante todavía ofrece estos. Cuando me quejé de esto, el servidor me dijo que no eran de plástico porque estaban hechos de carbón. Y son de plástico endeble. El mango se rompió en la primera bifurcación. Para ser justos, el gerente regresó mientras estábamos comiendo y cuando me quejé con ella, ella se ofreció a cambiar el precio, pero como estaba harto y estaba apurado por llegar al espectáculo que había reservado, dije que no. Y también me dijo que el dueño dijo que los cubiertos de plástico se reciclan, pero para mí eso todavía no está bien, incluso si es cierto. Creo que al menos debería haber una opción para usar los cubiertos adecuados. ¿Realmente puede ser tan difícil lavarlos? Si volviera, traería mis propios cubiertos para que no fuera un problema. Since we back from Eagypt I was craving for koshari. I found this hidden gem in the Central London. So delicious strongly recommended.

A small place tucked away meters only from Leicester Square. Their best is the famous egyptian dish called "Koshari" a mix of pasta, lentil and beans. Add a bit of spicy sauce and it warms up this delightful dish. I would say reasonably priced considering the area it is located in. The place is very small so on a busy day during the peak tourism season you might have to wait a bit longer if you eat inside, otherwise you can grab you bowl and walk and eat. Its worth a visit.

A little store based around authentic street food of Egypt first opened in London in 2013 serving a selection of Egyptian streetfood classics, both savoury and sweet. I have not seen or experienced many Egyptian restaurants in London and really should have more of these places in London as you will truly enjoy the food. THE FOOD: Classic Koshari (Classic Base, Tomato Sauce, Chickpeas, Garlic Da’aa Dressing, Fried Onions, Spicy Doqqa Nut Mix) - Pot of rice and pasta with a nice zesty and spiced tomato sauce. From the website it seems this is a national dish, sold on roadside stalls and restaurants throughout Egypt, captures the heart of the nation. Well I cant wait to go to Egypt to see how authentic this is. But a great fresh taste with enough spice and kick and full of flavour and texture. THE VERDICT: An impressive little place to eat and enjoy the various pots on offer, the food is delicious and nutritious and you cant say that with a lot of food these days. I want to go back and try the other dishes and would be top pick for a quick bite amongst the many of the usual offerings from the chain restaurants. Highly recommended. There should be more Egyptian places to eat and I for one will be looking into this more.
