Very pathetic food also staff behavior is very rude 😔

We took our friends here as this place was recommended to us. Starters arrived and we were told to eat the Gyozas with soy sauce from the bottle on the table? Strange but we did as we were told. The gyozas were crispy and overdone but we ate them anyway. The Californian rolls had chicken in them which friends said was not authentic. Our main meals arrived after a long time . The Pad Thai’s were meant to have rice noodles, it looked and tasted like egg noodles and the sauce was rather unusual and very sweet. My friend had the same tasting sauce in her rice dish? We left half of our main meals and just wanted to leave., We did pay a tip but wished we had not. NB It did not seem to be an authentic Japanese restaurant and the music playing in the background was like calypso cover songs? We would not return.

Management should take notes from the more negative reviews here and get the balance between delivery orders and sit in customers right - we visited on a Wednesday night. The food is great however, we had well over half an hour wait between starters and mains with noone checking in on us at all during that time. We were tucked in the corner and eventually went to the bar to see when we could expect our food, which just happened to be ready at that moment. It's fine if you want a very relaxed meal and you're not planning on being anywhere in a hurry but not good if you're hungry, which we were.

Sunday lunch, quiet for a Sunday, nice little restaurant, but personally I loved the sushi, and the sushi deserts, they were excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Starter, main, desert and one drink was c,£26 per person. Felt it was well worth the money.

Wonderful lunch, sushi was excellent. The green tea was fabulous - bi lo chun served perfectly! Hardly ever get a good quality green tea in a cafe or restaurant- this was a surprise and a real treat!

Absolutely amazing food. We ate there 2 nights running as we enjoyed the food so much we wanted to go back and try more from the menu. The staff are great, really good service and the food is all freshly cooked and super tasty. If going I would suggest booking in advance. We booked both nights and it was busy even on the Monday night. We don't eat meat but do eat some fish and we had lots of choice with possibly half the menu catering with veggie vegan choices. If we visit Perth again, this will definitely be on our visit list. The owners are very welcoming and we had a great night.

Visiting from Canada with my family. We were warmly welcomed and treated to a fabulous meal. I had the pad Thai which was very tasty. My father had the ramen and said it was the best he’d ever had. Highly recommend.

Visited here a few times, mostly takeaway. Food very tasty, loved the poke bowls and vegetable tempura, very tasty and fresh. Had the pad thai one evening which was ok, too thick with sauce. Staff are lovely and they always remember you.

Oh dear. What awful, awful food. Ordered the edamame to start which was basically steamed or microwaved soggy beans with salt on. Not fried in oil, chilli, ginger etc like you'd expect. The chicken gyozas were over fried and, again, no discernible flavour. Husband had the tuna tartare premier sushi rolls. Again, devoid of flavour, albeit nicely rolled. I had the prawn noodle stir fry which tasted like it was just drenched in salty, condensed soy sauce. The flavour was genuinely terrible. Honestly, if that's Japanese, I'm Greek. Then I asked for the bill with a full plate of food in front of me. The girl brought it and asked if everything was ok. I said that the food had been awful. She said, oh, and walked away. Bill was brought, no reduction, no apology and she pointed to where the tip buttons were. Honestly, I genuinely try to only praise restaurants in the current difficult climate. But this one is really taking the mickey. Take your very hard earned cash somewhere else.

Been there couple of months ago and the experience we had was completely different Ordered the Okonomiyaki and was tastless with 'salmon' that wasn't even baked. Staff not really looking after customers. Waited a while before managing to order. Sushi is the only good thing we had. I definitely won't recommend it.

We went for lunch with our son. To other tables in the restaurant. We did order Katsu Curry without the sauce for our son and did ask for sushi rolls without cucumber for me and my wife. One roll was with cucumber... Did not want to wait another 20min so my wife ate it. We were wiaiting around 20min for drinks and another 20 for food. After 40 minutes when food arrived I wanted to cut the chicken for my son. That chicken (picture) did cost £16 (there was bowl of rice with it which could cost £1 max). I don't know if any person calling himself "chef" would send something like that to the table. Ridiculous

Delicious vegan options including panku tofu katsu curry, and their famous vegan haggis balls! Only gave atmosphere 4 stars as I think they should add the occasional J-pop Ballard to their great music selection. 😊

Worst dining experience in a long time, place is nice inside good decor menu is extensive but the service is horrendous sat for 20 minutes not even offered a drink while we waited I cannot recommend this place at all. The staff were overwhelmed getting takeaway deliveries ready diners inside were just not looked after another diner had to go up to the bar and ask for bill because she had a life to get back to, I can relate! Went to cafe taboo more diners inside but we got served almost instantly offered water straight off the bat and a tasty bread basket while we wait for our order. So in short won’t be revisiting anytime soon, can’t recommend to others 😕

The menu states that two of the starters are vegan however the waiter pointed out this is not the case. Do not understand why something is mislabelled in this way.

I came for a night out with my sister in law and we both had a brilliant night. Our waiter was so nice, the food was delicious and they even catered for my awkward diet. The ramen was sooo good. The broth was full of flavour and packed with veggies. The haggis balls with teriyaki to start were amazing. Cant wait to go back.

Loved this Japanese style restaurant. The tofu ramen bowl was delicious and satisfying. Wide selection of dishes to choose from and the staff were helpful and very friendly. Excellent for all dietary requirements including vegetarian and vegan. Will definitely return soon

Nice food, fresh ingredients however they tend to be a little top heavy on the ginger. Service is nice. A little pricey for a lunch, perhaps they could introduce a lunch menu in the future??

Hats of to the owner who very kindly made my girlfriend a unique (& delicious) udon noodle dish as she is very limited by a pescatarian diet & severe sensitivity to alliums - he came over to our table & spoke to her about options & welcomed the challenge! It did however take a bit too long for us to get our drinks. Nicely decorated place if a little bright

Let me be clear,my mum and I have Never been to a Japanese restaurant ever and now we have OMG what wonderful,faverful and colourful food we have been missing.The presentation of the dishes just made us want to dive in and slurp our noodles.The place was lovely.The staff were great and gave us some recommendations.Great place,great vibes fab food.Give it a go.

My partner was delighted with her meal, she had the Tofu Okonomiyaki, Vegetable Tempura and Kappa Maki, the freshness was second to non. I had the Kaarage Katsu Curry and Eel Dragon Roll. The curry was amazing, ridiculously good flavour (although I should have gotten the panko chicken as the Kaarage didn't hold up well in the sauce but that's my fault). Also some of the best eel I've had. Our server was a very kind and warming host, we didn't get her name but she was blonde and friendly and she definitely improved our experience with her outstanding service. The only downside is that we're only passing through Perth as we'd love to eat here again!

Wait time for food was 35 minutes, we usually love coming here but unfortunately this visit the chicken was extremely dry and overcooked on both dishes. Ramen also used pad thai noodle and donburi was extremely overcooked, for the prices of almost £20 per dish we were very disappointed. Maybe it was just a bad day, the staff were very attentive just disappointed with the food for the extortionate prices.

This is the best place to eat ramen ever! The food is so fresh and the environment is so calm with nice music. The staff are friendly. The service is amazing. This is my favourite restaurant in Perth.

We had the pork belly raman bowl, prawn sushi yakatori chicken, chicken gyoza and mango juice, everything was amazing and I fear I will never taste food that good again, I can't wait to go back.

A firm favourite in our family. This is our third visit, in each case with three generations of the family, all of whom really enjoyed the food. The service is excellent and the ambience really nice. All of the food - from the more traditional to the rather less traditional Scottish-Japanese fusion food - is well made, tasty, and relatively good value (Japanese restaurants in the UK are always on the pricey side, I find). On this occasion, between us we had miso soup (pretty good), okonomiyaki (excellent), agedashi (superb), both tofu and haggis katsu (excellent), tofu ramen (excellent), and various hosomaki and futomaki (all excellent). This third visit won't be our last!

Nice atmosphere, and okay service but the food is very disappointing considering it is very expensive. Had the deep fried tofu and vegetable gyoza to start, the tofu was flavourless and gyoza had very thick wrapping and mushy filling. The sushi was fine but expensive and nothing to write home about. The ramen was also very mediocre and not very authentic with asparagus and broccoli in it. Overall very expensive for mediocre food and wouldn't go again.

The restaurant has good decor, but the food does not quite match Japanese standards. The ramen dish uses a different type of noodle, which isn’t authentic. The sushi tends to fall apart easily, and the inclusion of sour-tasting radish doesn’t align with the traditional Japanese flavors. Overall, the dining experience doesn’t capture the essence of Japanese food.

This place is delicious and the staff were really helpful and attentive. The food was clearly marked vegan and the guys serving was happy to check the okonomiyaki was vegan for me. All the dishes I had were dishes were well presented and tasty, I couldn't poke the last seaweed pakora in, but was offered to take it away. So I've just eaten than while planning how I can replicate it at home. Great Japanese food, not just sushi and Raman and loads of good began options! Will definitely come through again.

Great place for those who love sushi and Asian alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend sushi platters and Katsu dishes.

The food was really lovely. However, despite being seated before 6pm the service was very slow - we waited 30 minutes for drinks, another 20 minutes for the miso soup starter, and another 40 for the main course - 1.5 hours after being seated. They forgot the salad we ordered. We were then ravenous and had to rush due to other plans. We were seated closest to the toilets and the door was open all the time, with the hand dryer noise being really obtrusive (a self-closing door is needed!). For 4 of us the bill was £100 inc 10% tip, which we felt was expensive for the overall experience.

It’s not just a case of here’s the vegan option, from starters to mains and sushi there’s plenty to choose from. We had seaweed pakora and agedashi (deep-fried tofu with umami sauce) followed by tofu donburi and breaded tofu Raman. It was all beautifully presented, delicious and served by friendly staff. I’ve seen some criticism that it’s a bit expensive but it compares well to other nearby places and the quality and portion sizes make it worth it. It certainly seemed to be the best option for a vegan evening meal in Perth. We would eat there again

I will admit up front: I am VERY fussy when it comes to sushi. Credit where credit is due: service was excellent. Serving staff were quick, polite and friendly and couldn't praise them enough. Portions were very large too. HOWEVER food was not great. Chicken gyoza was burnt and tasteless and the seafood sushi left a lot to be desired. Something different for Perth but if you like sushi save yourself some money and get a packet from the supermarket.

While I cannot complain about the food, as the last few times i have had food from here it has been excellent, I can about the terrible service today. I ordered online, as we were at appointments in town, selected our collection time, and also that I would pay on collection, an option that their system gave. Pressed send, got the acknowledgement email, all good. I get to the restaurant 35 minutes later (after said appt) to be told that they had tried to call me, but hadn't gotten through with the number they had (interesting as they have managed in the past) so had emailed me to verify the order. And as they had not been able to reach me, it would now be a 30 min wait for my order. What is the point in having a system that allows you to order online, and then pay on collection, which then requires a call too? This is not efficient nor practical. The email took ages to get to me, well after we had been in to get this info, and we were unable to wait another 30 mins while this was made. The reasons given were that they have been left hanging by people who order, and then don't collect, and that it was costing too much in wasted food. Well no surprise there! Get rid of this option then, so that genuine customers, can order online, pay online, and then if they decide they aren't collecting then you don't loose out! It's not hard. Given that there was absolutely no attempt to apease myself (and my son who was bitterly disappointed) I will not be going back for either takeaway or to sit in. I will just have to make do with YoSushi from Tesco and find another restaurant, that has systems that work.

The food came relativity quickly. We had 2 starters, 2 mains & 2 sides and asked for them all to come out when ready. All were piping hot, amazing taste & texture. We expected the bill to be more than it was & will definitely be back.

We visited here for my granddaughter's 12th birthday yesterday. We were impressed with the ambience and the very friendly greeting from our waiter. Been to the Kirkcaldy Koku Shi a few times, and this one is much better. The decor is nice and it’s clean. The staff were all friendly. The food was good and big portion sizes. Would go again.
