Ordered Chicken Katsu curry and rice for myself and my daughter, the food is subpar, both of us felt really ill after eating this food, our bellies swelled and we both felt drained, I'm presuming that they've used cheap unhealthy ingredients. This is the second time we've tried this place and we had the same reaction to their food the last time we ate there, around a year ago. Also asked for fresh Katsu chicken when ordering as I heard they were preparing some fresh, they refused and said they can only serve the old chicken that had been sitting there for who know's how long. We will not be eating there again, avoid if you want value for money and good health.

My go-to option for deliveries or just a quick fast meal. The portions are perfect for somebody like me who loves both quality and quantity. The best fast food in town in my opinion, but can see how other people potentially may feel otherwise. Exquisite food, the sweet chilli chicken and chicken katsu curry is to die for - and in my opinion for foods that have sauces like the examples listed above, my top tip is to always choose rice over noodles (it carries the sauce better). For this Kokoro branch in particular, it’s not really the sort of place I’d dine in or go for a date, reason being while it’s a very artistically designed building, the seating inside and outside is very little, due to the size of the building. I would recommend if eating food here to take it back home or pop off to the seaside (mind the seagulls though). The menu is perfectly balanced with options that cater for anyone, even for people who aren’t the biggest fans of Korean/Japanese cuisine. The sides like sushi and gyozas are delicious. My only issue is the price of the drinks for what they are but this is the same with all fast food places, it’s just how they make profit when somebody just wants a drink to go with their food. I often eat here before work, and walk away with a smile before my shift. The only rival for this place for me would be Thai in Town, in my humble opinion. Before you decide to go to the usual McDonalds or KFC trip, why not poke a nose in here? The food smells great!

Stopped by for a bite of sushi and they made it fresh instead of having us pick from the limited options available in the to-go section. Other food in the hot section also looked quite good and portion sizes of the rice dishes were very generous.

At the restaurant, the friendly staff let us store our luggage while we walked to the beach. Tonkatsu chicken was delicious ☺️

We order regularly for delivery and have been into the store a few times. The katsu curry and teriyaki are great, and massive portions for the price. Sushi is always fresh and tasty.

Went in with my boyfriend today and a very friendly and chatty man was talking to us while we waited for more sushi to be prepared. Very smiley and welcoming. The Katsu Curry was delicious and they always stack it so high in there. As for the sushi, I have absolutely no complaints. Very good sushi. 10/10 for customer service and food

Incredible food, great portions, at a good price!! One of the best sweet and spicy chicken I’ve had,mildly crunchy but saucy too. The all salmon sushi set was delicious too. Presentation is great, and tastes fresh. A great addition to the Hastings food scene. I’ll deffo be coming back.

So disappointing! We ordered 2 chicken katsu currys with rice this lunch time, Both only had a tiny amount of sauce which we didn't realise until we made it home. We ate dry chicken and rice for lunch. So disappointing, when eating out is a treat! Seemed to be short staffed so we were possibly unlucky but would have preferred to have been told they didn't have enough katsu sauce and so we could have made a decision to eat elsewhere and we could have come back another day. :(

Great asian food. My favorite food! The only downside I noticed lately the portions are getting smaller and smaller. And not only in this branch.

Love this place -since it opened is a lifesaver for lunch when we're in the office. If you love Japanese you will like it too. Very helpful staff but also if something isn't on display in the cabinet but is on their menu list they will make it up fresh for you whilst you wait. So lovely fresh sushi and some hot essentials like Sweet Chilli chicken and Teriyaki chicken and veg alternatives as well. Go there at least twice a week!

Got the salmon sushi, half tasted alright and the other half tasted of spray sanitiser, specifically the rice from the salmon nigiri.

A welcome addition to the food places in the shopping center of Hastings- finally some Sushi ! Very friendly service, sushi and curry was decent. Seating could be better (some shading outside in this heat would be great, and air conditioning inside). We'll be back.

The food is lovely and the staff are lovely. However, the only issue is that the food isn't that fresh. When I went with a friend my food was stuck in the microwave to heat up it wasn't fresh like its competitor edemame down the street.

Stopped in for the first time with my family for lunch. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Food was extremely flavourful. Everyone liked sharing the chilli chicken. The sushi was fresh and they offered to make it if it wasn’t in the to go fridge.

Disgusting food!!! We ordered one sweet and sour chicken and noodles and one teriyaki chicken with noodles the food delivered is not fit for consumption. The meat doesn’t even look or taste like chicken. I called the store to explain that our food wasn’t very nice and they said it’s not their problem but Deliveroo. Shame because have eaten here before and it was good……terrible customer service avoid at all costs!!

I had veg noodles and the spicy tofu which was delicious and I can't fault the flavour and textures, but the guy serving me didn't realise that I saw him pull a massive hair out of my food before passing it to me. So maybe not very good on the food hygiene or honesty. The sides were also quite dirty.

The staff here always friendly and smile. The food always hot and tasty. They have few seats inside and 4 tables outside (please be careful of the seagulls when you sit outside). Also, if you order take away, they always wrap with cling film. Love this place. Strong recommend in Hastings town.

I highly advise against veg noodles. They are poor of vegetables, almost nonexistent and the noodles are a bit sticky and...bland...

I was really looking forward to this company coming to Hastings as I always grab some food when im in London Or Brighton from Kokoro, But I Kept having bad experiences at this place, First time I went I asked for something specific and the owner was very talkative and reassuring, so I didnt double check my order but once I got home I realised he gave me the wrong thing as This was my dinner for the evening it was very disappointing as there wasnt anything else open to dine from, I took it back the next day and just got a refund. I went there another time no quarms, then last week I went there and ordered Noodles, With tempura prawns and curry sauce ontop, He gave me curry chicken ontop and Ive told him before I dont eat chicken..He even asked at the end ‘curry sauce on top’ i said yes, I got home and was disappointed again but this time I just removed the chicken and carried on eating I brought it back to him the next day and instead of a refund He gave me another meal, soo why is it when i’ve gone there today they owner is showing me cctv with sound of me telling him my order, basically reinforcing what I said because at NO point did I say to him chicken, But he was adamant in showing me this clip, I felt this was very pressuring and quite frankly didn’t understand that point in this I told him his customer service wasn't the best. he said that was my opinion and when I said the way he has treated me as a customer today Wouldnt encourage me to come back he also done nothing. Had takeaway from Hastings Kokomo a number of times since it’s opening. Never disappointed. Fresh sushi and tasty hot food, all served by very friendly staff.

Well thank you. There was a niche in hastings for Japanese food and now we have 3 restaurants of Japanese food. Kokoro, Heist Street Food place and Edamame. I enjoyed the sushi, and hot food however i love miso soup so much asked for Miso to be filled to the top. And it wasn't. That was the only downside. For the price i pay it should be to the top. Comparing to Wasabi or itsu restaurants in London, Kokoro is definetelly one of best ones. 5 stars for food. 4 stars for service. 5 stars for environment. Total 4,75 rating from me. Prices could be a little bit lower. Large sushi is 9,95. Comparing to itsu you can grab for 7,95. Room for improvement. 2023/01/28 Second review. 1/5 Because of Verry terrible experience. Never coming backed again. 100% The Korean guy Paul, was serving me in kokoro hastings. I greeted them Konnichiwa as it's Japanese food. And the guy was very cocky. He said he was Korean. I asked him if he was north Korean or south . And he started moralizing me that i was rude to him. First he charged me 9,25 instead of 7,20 for no reason. Then he forgot the spoon i asked. And then he forgot my chopsticks. The said its THERE!!! I haven't 8 years of customer service experience and this is unacceptable. I have a receipt for owners. As i day ruined my day. And i am paying customer. Never again. Sorry.

Lovely place, great staff and nice food. The team are always super helpful and will help make sure you get the grub that you want. A shame there is not much seating, but their take-away is all good!

This restaurant is run by a Korean family. The food tastes good and the restaurant is clean. Especially friendly and good service.

Last night we ordered a takeaway, the portion sizes were very generous and amazing value for money. Really lovely food, definitely recommend everyone giving this place a go.

We decided to try this place because it looked clean and new. What a big disappointment ! This type of food is usually delicious, but what has happened here? The dish we were served was predominantly boiled rice, jammed into a tub, a tiny bit of almost cold sauce poured on, sadly the sauce had no taste or flavour, and then three soggy tempura prawns . It was absolutely inedible. My friend tried a little of it, but it was so bad we both had to throw it away. Hopefully the new company will improve on this, and many customers will enjoy the lovely new premises. Unfortunately not for us, there are so many excellent places to eat in Hastings town centre.

Good selection of hot food, tried the sweet chilli chicken, salmon teriyaki and udon, loved it all. Also very impressed with the sushi, salmon is very fresh and prices are very decent. This will now be my go to place for amazing sushi. Staff are extremely friendly. Will definitely visit again.

We popped in today. The food was excellent. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and ultra polite, (particularly the charming gentleman who served us and asked us a few times during the course of our stay, if everything was ok.) I had the spicy Tofu and rice which was a generous portion and very tasty. There are vegan and vegetarian options also, which is great. Highly recommended.

Amazing... the sweet chilli chicken and rice is heavenly! The Teriyaki is also amazing as are the udon noodles! Fresh food, ultra clean, incredibly friendly... Amazing addition to Hastings! Highly recommend and now one of my favorite take outs in town.

Oh man, I saw the signs going up for this place and I was excited. Great food, and decent prices. Ideal for grabbing a bite of food to go. My favourite is the Inari Pockets. So good.
