Kokoro in Basingstoke and Deane

Went in to pick up some desserts for a few days time as noticed before they have a long shelf life. Hardly any doryaki left but I took the last two. Went to pay to find they only take card payments, but they couldn't their card machines to work! Spent nearly 15 minutes waiting for them totry re-booting, trying contactless and pin options. Eventually looked at taking cash but they had no change. I didn't have the exact money so they tried asking me to buy less or more to fit to a note value! Eventually they found some change. Got my desserts home quickly as I couldn't after being out of the fridge longer than planned, only to find these were previously frozen and have to be used within 4 days of being defrosted. No indication of when defrosted so I cannot use them in a few days as planned. Use by date is only for their use if the item remaina frozen - not sure it is ok to sell pre-packaged food to customers without a use by date? Wasted my time and money; today was enough to put me off going back.

Loverly spot for sushi, rice was nice and soft and each and every purchase leaves me feeling affluent in every condiment imaginable. Was a bit miffed the lady serving took one looks at me and handed over a fork in addition to the chopsticks requested, even more miffed upon later realising it was indeed needed. Would recommend the prawn lover set and the weird cheesecake. Would upload pictures but I’ve used up all my data and the Festival Place WiFi is crap. Also bags are free.

Staff are always very friendly and happy to help. Sweet chilli chicken is awesome and the sushi is always super fresh. We are loyal customers and love the Basingstoke kokoro. The price point is really good too, if I order a large sweet chilli chicken, it is about £10 but can do 2-3 meals for me.

Ordered hot food noodles were cold as were the prawns 2 dished nearly £20.00 definalty not going back

Their meat is absolutely disgusting in their hot dishes. This is the second time of ordering them now as I thought I'd give them another go but honestly I shouldn't of bothered. The first time I had one of their hot noodle dishes I went for the chicken and it was like scrap pieces of chicken that you would find on the floor...all brown and disgusting. Completely inedible. This time I've gone for the beef bulgogi and again the meat is awful. Not eaten any of it..complete waste of money. I don't know how you can get away with charging your customers for knock off meat cuts. I won't ever be buying from them again.

A simple noodle dish took 2 hrs to reach me and I called after 1h and 15mins to chase and it had not left. Quality was mediocre and that’s being generous. I suggest that the restaurant should not be greedy and accept orders if they can’t deliver. Won’t bother again, definitely not worth the wait!!!

Absolutely awful really disappointed couldn’t even eat more that 3 mouthfuls chicken looked like scraps, will not eat from here again.

The ready made sushi was nice and good value for money but the main hot food left a lot to be desired. I had chicken and the quality of chicken was poor I had to leave it! Very disappointed!!

So when I walked in there was no indication of where to queue so I chose to queue up behind someone (but still maintaining social distancing). In that time several other people had come in and joined their own queue directly behind the person and were seen first before me. I wasn't even acknowledged by staff there. Won't be visiting again that's incredibly poor customer service.

Never tried this chain of restaurants, but whilst I was in the area I wanted to try and heard a lot of good things. good services, big large portions that we didn't finish!

I only realised this place was open in Basingstoke not long ago and now it's my only place to go to for sushi. It is delicious! You have a good variety to choose from, freshly made and reasonablypriced. I only get sushi to take away, but it has some seating area if you wanted to eat there. Would highly recommend.

Food is very tasty. Service is good and the staff are pleasant and helpful. My favourite take away. Noodles and the various chicken dishes are my favourites but entire selection good. As yet, not had a bad meal or experience with Kokoro.

I eat a lot of sushi, but had never heard of Kokoro so was a little uncertain, however Kokoro is my new favourite sushi chain! The concept is casual; similar to Wasabi and Itsu, perhaps closer to Wasabi, however Kokoro's food tastes better, is fresher and has a greater variety of hot options and sides. We really appreciated the fact that the portions are not stingy (the other chains are!) The staff at Basingstoke are super nice, they made us feel so welcome and cared for even though they were clearly very busy and working so hard, they still were kind and helpful towards my elderly relative. Thank you to the lovely staff for doing a great job! We went back the next day because we liked it so much. Food is primarily Japanese, with one or two Korean/Chinese/other Asian dishes. Food is slightly Westernised, but no less tasty. Good variety, fresh and tasty.

Found a hair on my katsu chicken, I said okay this sometimes happens and then found another one with some fluffy thing which was sticked in the chicken’s breading as you can see on the photo I’ve attached. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable when you are in the middle of a pandemic and trust in a restaurant that they are keeping up with all the hygiene and then got the disappointment like that... never again.

We had lunch from here during lockdown. Kokoro have made good precautions to keep everyone safe. Only 1 customer in the restaurant at a time. We had chicken katsu curry and sweet and sour chicken as a large mixed tub with sticky rice. Food was excellent as usual, good size serving for a reasonable price. They also do deliveroo.

Food was lovley very reasonable pricing good portions unfortunately I was abit concerned to see pots of uncovered plastic cutlery on the side for everyone to take and use which I feel is a tad irresponsible in the current situation and no social distancing being implemented in the store as I was put in the uncomftable position of having to repeatly ask a customer behind me to move back a little as there was no guideline for them.

Food is always fresh and they dont skim on portion sizes. Love a good katsu chicken or a nice fresh sushi Will always come back

Always good for a decent meal of noodles and any one of a range of chicken toppings. Served fresh by pleasant and helpful staff. Very tasty and always satisfying. Not so much of a dining restaurant more of a couples / friends / mates fuellling...

Big servings with full flavors. This store never seems to amaze me with its variety of asian food that makes you miss home a little less. You don't need sauce for those overflowing bowls of delicious. I will definitely go back for more. 😍😍😍
